Another week, another attempt at writing fan fic. This was inspired by the Apocalypse thread, this is a version of how I think the last battle of the Buffyverse will go down. This first chapter I'm posting now is a long 'putting the pieces together part, but after that, it will be all mayhem.. Hope you guyys enjoy it:

PART 1: The Last Goodbye

1. The Scooby core
She is the first one to walk up the on ramp to the freeway leading right into L.A, only about ten miles until they are officially in the city and fighting the battle that their lives having been leading up to. A path that Buffy Summers has been on several times, but this time it really does feel like the end of it all, and she wishes for it to finally be over with. If there wasn’t one factor involved here, she would’ve sat this one out like she has been for the last couple of years. But her ex lover has her sister, her only real true love and she protected her from death once, she will do it again. And also, she has this gut feeling that although there are now hundreds of active slayers, that she needs to be the one to lead this, that her whole life has been leading up to this battle. She holds her scythe tightly as the two figures who have been following her thoughout her journey catch up to her. She speaks to them without looking behind her. “They’ll be waiting for us, you know that right? The minute we step foot into the city, they will be all over us.”

“Yes, yes,” Rupert Giles begins to say as he finally catches up to Buffy and stands to her right. “You have to figure that The First and Angelus has been expecting us for a couple of days now. But I have Faith that a good lot of us will at least make it to The Wolfram and Hart offices.”

“So the odds are against us?” Xander Harris says walking up to stand right next to Buffy on the left, swinging his battle axe around like it was just a toy. “That’s always a case with Armageddon and we always stop them. Sure we are facing a city full of demons led by two of our greatest enemies, but once we finish up drinks are on me.”

Buffy looks at Xander remorsefully. “I’m going to be honest, I don’t think that all of us will be around after this one.”

“Buffy don’t think like....” Giles tries to stop his charge from thinking negative.

“It’s okay Giles, I know both of you feel it too.”

“What?” Xander asks. “That bad feeling in my gut that’s telling us this is the end of it ALL. I mean the real end.”

Buffy looks up at the glowing white light in the sky. “Yeah, that feeling.”

Giles gives Buffy a very sad look. “Should we do it now?”

“Yeah,” Buffy says. “Let’s get it over with. This is going to be the hardest part of the battle.”

Giles turns behind him to see an army of about three hundred slayers, with an almost matched number of watchers, five hundred intiative soldiers and several hundred civillians and demons. Rupert Giles yells at the top of his lungs. “WE STOP HERE FOR AN HOUR TO SAY OUR GOODBYES.” Everyone falls out of the battle line they have formed and begin to chat it up with the people closest to them. Giles looks back at Buffy then up at the white light that descending down to them. Giles looks back at his two students as they look back at him with saddened but happy faces. “Buffy....”

“Let me say this part, you two need to here this.” She says looking at Giles and Xander.

“Shouldn’t we wait for Willow to descend from her godly plain?” Xander asks.

“No, this speech is intended for you two, although Willow is part of the core, she doesn’t need to here this.”

“Buffy, what is it?” Giles asks.

She gives both of her men very loving eyes, then almost goes into tears. “I’ve had many men in my lives, well, not that many, but you know what I mean. Riley, Angel, Spike, they have all been known as my champions before, but that’s I lie. None of them were my champions, at least not as much as you two have been. They all had power that made them able to be my champions, but none of them had the heart and soul that you two have given over the years. Although, you were just mortal men, the two of you have been there for me during every armageddon, every break up, for most of my life as a slayer. That makes you my true champions. Angel and Spike can’t hold a candle to you guys.”

She looks Giles straight in the eyes and he is taken by what she is saying and what she is about to say, she puts her hand on his shoulder. “ When things started out, you were hired to be my watcher, to watch me through my slayer training. You have become so much more, Rupert, my dad pretty much abandoned me once he and my dad divorced, but you were always there when he wasn’t, you are my real father. If I have learned anything over my life that is that family isn’t blood, it’s that person who is always there looking out for you best interests and taking you under his wing. And when you were fired by the Watcher’s council, you could’ve just left for England, but you stayed. That’s what made you a great example of a parent to me, you have always gone where you heart and loyalties would lead you. And that loyalty was always for the good, it was always to watch over me as a father. You have gone above and beyond the call of your original duty.” She gives the englishman a hug as he says nothing. As she pulls away, he takes his glasses off and instead uses his hankerchiff to wipe his eyes.

She then makes her way to Xander who reaches out to her imediately. They hold their hands up to eachother both with tears in their this time around, both knowing what is to come. “What do I have to say to you? What can I say Xander? You were never a witch, never a watcher, nor a demon or vampire, but you have done more for me than anyone combined. You brought me back to life, your love stopped Willow from destroying the world, you have gone into losing battle after losing battle with me and have proved my most valueable warrior. When most humans would hesistate going into this mission, you have shown a lifetimes worth of courage. And when there were times when I was dark and alone and I thought I couldn’t go on, I would think ‘What would Xander do’? Xander your my hero, I look up to you.” She goes to hug him, but pulls back and then gives him a huge kiss on the lips. She pulls away as he smiles, this has been what he always wanted, it was a nice kiss, full of love.

She looks at both of them as the white light gets closer towards them so Buffy makes the rest of the speech quick. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t know who’s going to die. But I want you both to know that you really are the only men in my life, you were my only constant in an ever changing life. And I know that you will fight as hard in this battle as you had before and I hope to god that you two get out of this with your lives, because the world would lose the two greatest heros. I really do love you guys.” She looks at them as they give her two amazing smiles.

“Well, we know this is the end now, don’t we?” Xander says. “That speech was last episode of MASH worthy. I love you Buffster.”

“Buffy, I am so moved.” Giles says.

“Well, no time for that, here comes our ace.” Buffy says as the white light turns into a figure. The three stare in awe as a white haired woman finally touches the ground of the freeway after her descension from the heavens above. Buffy smiles at her old friend, she remembers this goddess when she was a nerdy red headed geek in high school. Willow smiles back at her friends as she stops glowing, but the white hair remains intact. Buffy walks up to give Willow a gentle hug. “Glad you came to join in on the fight, we are really going to need you.”

Willow pulls back and now looks at all three of her old friends. “You think I would actually miss this one last battle. Although I’m getting hell from the other God’s in the heavens for ‘meddling’ with the mortal coil. But the way I see it, you guys are family, their just my co-workers.”

“Willow,” Xander says opening his arms for a big hug as she lunges to him. “Long time, no see, you don’t call or write to your old child hood friend. I know your busy, but you should put some time in for the Xand man.”

Xander and Willow embrace for a good minute, then look at each other lovingly. “Xander, I missed you so much. There’s not much humor up in the heaven dimension, they defintely need a Xander god of the funny. But I’ve heard you’ve been making a name for yourself here.”
“Yeah,” Xander looks at his sister like friend. “I’ve become a full fledged watcher, actually. Got seven years under my belt now, trained two of the councils best.”

Giles rubs his glasses as he adds onto Xander’s statement. “Quite extrodinary really, he’s one of our two highest ranked watcher’s nowadays.”

Willow lights up as Giles speaks, she runs up to the groups proverbial father figure and embraces him as well. “ And Giles, your head of the Watcher’s council now.”

“Assuming there will be a watcher’s council in a few hours, yes.” Giles explains.

“Don’t be so negative Giles, we are going to win this one, like we have won several times before.”

Xander interuppts the conversaton. “Coming from someone who can’t die.” He says this with a smile.

“Oh, Gods can die, all I did was ascend to a higher plain of existance, there is still alot of mortality left in me. I’m just incredibly hard to kill.” Willow smiles beneath her white locks. “One thing I have learned is that no being is beyond death.”

“Except for the immortal comedy of Don Knotts.” Xander adds.

“Willow,” Buffy begins looking at her old friend. “I hate to ask this, but having you been paying any attention to the happenings in L.A?”

“You want to know about Dawn don’t you?” The now all knowing Willow looks at Buffy as she knods. “She’s alright, so is Faith and that other boy who needs to be sacrificed. In fact, they can’t do the ritual until they have the blood of a ensouled slayer.”

“Yeah,” Buffy begins. “which is what we are going to be bringing him once we get there. We are probably playing right into his trap.”

“Buffy,” Willow begins. “They left us with no other choice, Angelus has Dawn.”

“So I have to kill Angel once more. This time, I know he won’t be coming back.”

“Buffy, I know what Angel means to you.” Giles says.

“But he’s not as important to me as Dawn. It’s either Angel or Dawn, and I’m not going to lose my sister. I stopped her from dieing once, I will do it again.”

“So, why aren’t we moving out? You know rush in and save, why did you guys all the sudden stop.” Willow asks.

“Because we need this moment.” Giles answers.

“Why? R&R?” The ever eager Willow insists.

“We need to say goodbye to everyone.” Buffy answers.

“Goodbye, why goodbye? I know I’ve been up in the mystical plain for a while, but we’ve faced apocalypses before.” Willow who has gone past the mortal feelings, has lost the bad feeling in her gut long ago.

“Willow, this is it. This is our final stand, don’t you feel it?” A very stressed Buffy asks the Goddess.

“I’m sorry Buffy, but I believe that you can do this. There will be no need for goodbyes, we can win this.”
“Yeah,” Buffy looks over at her army and begins to walk over to her army. “But at what price?” Giles and Xander give Willow the same look that Buffy has been giving her, Willow still doesn’t get what the big deal is about. The two men follow Buffy onto the rest of the comrades to talk stragedy and say goodbye to others.

2. Sunnydale High Reunion

Oz squeezes his way past the intiative troops and slayers, moving towards the white light that he just saw, amazed at it. He knows exactly what the spectactle in the sky was, it’s was his girl. He hasn’t seen her since he left Sunnydale and is excited but not shocked at what she has become. He remembers the first spell she ever cast, he was right there holding her hand, even then he could feel the power flowing through her, it scared him. Everyday since he left he has been thinking about her, couldn’t meet any thing better and more powerful than her. At one point, when he realized that he had full control of his inner wolf, he wanted to go back and see her, but he knew that she had found the love of another. When Buffy called him asking him to help in probably the last battle ever, he was hoping he would get to see his girlfriend one last time. And there she is, descending from the heavens like the angel he always knew she was. He tries to make his way past all the bigger armed troops, so he could see her this one last time, but is stopped by another familliar face.

“Oz, is that you?” The smiling face of Cordelia Chase asks stopping him from move closer to his ex. But Oz, likes Cordy, there has always been this bond between the two of them when they were High School. He is actually just as shocked to see her as she is to see him, he actually thought she was one of the people that Angel turned. But he admits that she looks much more mature than the last time the two ran into each other. He gives her a half smile as they embrace, something the two of them weren’t used to doing in the old days, but there was always this unspoken bond between the two of them. “ It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

“Yeah, ten years in my count. Never thought I would be back on the demon battle field.”

“Yeah, I here you. I retired from the game the minute I turned evil then put into a coma.” He gives her an unsure look. “That’s a long story, let’s just say that I went through alot of changes over the years. Some for the good, some for the bad. What about you? Still a were wolf?”

“In a way.” Oz answers.

“So, what are you doing here if you retired from battling vamps and you seem to have control over your wolfism due to the fact that tonight is a full moon and look at you.”

“To be honest, I don’t know, maybe to find something that I lost years ago.” He’s been pondering that question since he told Buffy that he would join her army.

“Wait,” Cordelia sparks, Oz realizes that she is a whole lot smarter than she used to be. “ I know why you came here, I have a sense for these things.”

“Then you’d be right.”

“After all these years, your still in love with Willow? That is very romantic and kind of sad, you know she’s gay and from the looks of things, a goddess.”

“Yeah, I noticed that.” Oz likes to keep his words short and doesn’t really want to go into the whole ‘lesbian’ issue with Cordy. He realizes something as he looks at her, that she is scared to death, that she has in fact changed, she is putting on that old High School act to cover up the fact that she knows what he knows. He knows now that she has the same gut feeling, that by daylight, that one or both of them will probbly be dead. He figures that there is more to her now, that she is an entirely different person. The fact that she is here is testament to that. “So, Cordy, what exactly are you doing here?”

“Seems a little weird for me to be involved in such a grand battle when I’m not getting paid doesn’t it?” She finally shows her true self now, in that change of face, he sees the strong confident woman she has become. “ I’m here for several reasons Oz, like I said, I’ve been through changes over the years, major changes. The one reason I’m here is because wether I like or not, deep down inside, I’m a champion. A few months after the last time we saw each other, I was given visions, I have never been the same since. My true calling isn’t acting or money or cars, it’s to help protect this stupid stupid earth.” Oz is taken aback by this speech, but realizes something else as she says this little speech.

“Your doing this for love too aren’t you?”

“Yeah, a love of sorts, yes.” She is almost ashamed to admit this. “ Two men that I love are in that city, one of them is Angel.”

“Angel???” He is actually shocked to hear that.

“Yes, Angel and his son.” He gives her a reaction that she has never seen from him before. “ Not as weird as you think. Alright, yeah it is, if I told you that I actually had sex with Angel’s son, but I was evil.”

“Angel has a son?” It takes him a while to proccess all of this.

“Yeah, but only me and Angel remember him. It’s a very long story, but yes, I love both of them, not to mention Wesley and Gunn and Fred who are now vampified. I sort of feel like all of this is my fault. I feel that if the last battle is against Angelus in L.A with Wolfram and Hart, that I need to be there, wether I want to or not.”

Oz can’t believe the compassionate person she has become, he is truly touched by her now. But his thoughts are interrupted when the several soldiers and slayers fall back as four faces he hasn’t seen in a long time show up. The four faces light up when they see the two former Sunnydale highers, Oz and Cordy run up to embrace the Scooby core. Cordy and Willow give each other a big hug, then Cordy moves on to shake hands with Buffy. Oz and Xander give each other five like old frat buddies, then Oz goes over to shake hands with Giles.

Buffy looks at the two of them, almost surprised. “Wow, you two actually showed up, I’m sorry, but High School was so long ago. I’d think you guys forgot all about us.”

“We did until you called.” Cordy answers.

“Good old Cordelia, always the enthusiastic one.” Xander adds.

Cordy walks up to him and gives him a huge hug, he is sort of surprised by this she in turn looks surprised by his eyepatch. “I missed you Xander. I really did, forget who I used to be and what we did to each other in the past. It’s just good to see you again.”

“Who are you and what did you do to Cordelia?” Xander is also amazed by her transformation.

“People do change Xander, even cold hearted bitches.” The two spark up a conversation and walk off for a few minutes. Oz makes his way to Willow, both are amazed to see each other again, but neither really know what to say.

“Hey.” Oz says lifting his head up to her.

“Hey,” She also has no clue what to say to her ex boyfriend. For the first time in a very long time, she can’t think of anything to say. They have no clue what will make things better between the two of them, he’s just happy to see her at least once more.

He looks her over for a few seconds and can only think of one thing to say. “You have the sweetest smile.” She giggles a little bit at this, unsure what her orientation is anymore. He then looks at her hair and thinks of another funny. “Not exactly blue hair but it will do.”

“Yeah, things have changed alot since the last time we saw each other. I’m sort of a higher being now, kinda cool, ain’t it?” She pauses for a couple of minutes she can feel that he still loves and has no clue if she should bring this up.

“This is kind of awkward isn’t it?” He asks as they begin to walk off having their own conversation, trying to get know each other before they lose each other once more, for good.

3. Hail to the chief

The Intiative breaks right after President Riley Finn has finished giving each squad leader information on what is to come. Once he is gone, he makes his way to one of the army’s hummers to arm himself for the final battle. Once elected into office he never thought that he would have to engage in another war again, but this isn’t another nation trying to take over, it’s not terrorists, it’s vampires, demons, the creatures he was taught to fight. And these creatures are threatening his country two years after he was elected into office, not to mention the one leading the demons is his ex girlfriends ex lover, he is destined to fight this war. He realizes that many of his men will lose their lives tonight, he realizes that his wife will lose her life, and he also knows that every demon and vampire will like to be the one to say that they were the ones who offed the president. Riley makes sure his equipment is fucting correctly, then he begins to march up to their leader Buff The Vampire Slayer.

Before he can get to her, he is stopped by dark skinned man, who is not really star struck, but very eager to meet the president of the united states. “President Finn?” Riley figures this a member of the Watchers Council and he wouldn’t be wrong, but he is much more. The man puts his hand out to shake with the president. “ Robin Wood, I’m in charge of the slayers on the west coast.”

“Nice to meet you Wood.” He realizes who this is. “ Your the only son of a vampire slayer aren’t you?”

“The one and only, but I preffered to be reffered to as a freelance vampire killer.” Wood smiles.

“I heard from Buffy that hate vamps as much as I do. I knew I would like you. I heard you were even married to Faith for a while, what’s up with that?” Buffy is right, he does like this guy. Only known him for a few seconds and their already into a full blown conversation about hating vampires and dating slayers.

“Yeah, we eloped in Vegas, we were divorced a week later. Fun time though, but she had other interests in mind.”

“I take it that’s why you have signed onto this army, to save your ex lover?” Riley asks, knowing exactly where this man is coming from. He knows how is to be in love with a slayer who doesn’t want to make you part of her life.

“That’s only half of it, but yeah, besides Giles demanding that I show up, I want to protect her even though she probably doesn’t need it, that’s just the kind of guy I am though.” Wood pauses forgetting why he showed up to talk with the president. “Anyways, president Finn....”

“Riley, call me Riley. I’m not the president right now.” Riley corrects him.

“Will do Riley.” He gives him a very sly look, Riley thinks he knows where this conversation is going. “My question is, assuming that we make it that far, what are your plans once you make it into the Wolfram and Hart building?”

“My goal is to stop Angelus from creating that blasted hellmouth at all costs. That’s why we are all here.” And that’s all he needed to get Wood started on the conspiring against their leader.

“Yes, but Angelus already has all the components to open it, all but one.” Wood has a very guilty look on his face as he brings this up.

“A vampire with a soul.” Riley says grimly, he thinks about what Spike did to him, how he screwed Riley out of a great relationship and then began screwing said girlfriend.

“And we both know who that is.” Wood winks at him.

“Spike! but Buffy would.....” Riley begins to defend the one vampire he wants to dust in person.

“I know what Buffy would do, but think about it for just a minute. If Angelus can’t bleed Spike, he can’t create the hellmouth which would make this job much easier. I know, I know, Buffy thinks that since Spike has a soul, is one of the good guys. But we are beyond that now, we are talking end of the world, Riley. I would understand hesitation if it were a human but this is a nasty vampire. Soul or not, he’s still a creature of the night.”

Riley thinks about for a couple of minutes and realizes that Wood isn’t doing this because it’s the right thing. Riley gives Wood his oafish grin cocking his weapon. “What personal vendetta do you have against Spike.”

The guilty look deepens on Wood’s face, but he finally answers the president. “ He killed my mother.”

Riley thinks this over once more and smiles at Wood. “Mr. Wood, you have yourself a deal. Your revenge is a worthy one, much more than mine actually.” They shake hands once more, but are interrupted by singing that comes from the other side of the hummer.

“Hail to Chief, who can’t even keep a girlfriend.” The british singing gets over closer as they both look over at the man they were just talking. Spike stands there drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette as his amulet hangs from his neck. Spike stares right at him with a huge smile. “ Look what you have become Agent Finn, President of the bloody united states of America. Good on you, mate.”

“Go away Spike.” Riley hopes that the vampire didn’t over hear what him and the watcher were talking about.

Spike waves at Wood, ignoring Riley. “ And good old Robin Wood, looking as vengeful as ever. Weird coincidence that you two are such good mates all of a sudden isn’t it?”

Wood looks almost ashamed now, it takes Riley a little longer to realize that Spike was listening in on the whole conversation. “How much of the conversation did you hear Spike?”

“The whole bleeding last of it.” Spike smiles slapping them both on the backs. “Good plan, Robin we went over this before, leave your grudges at the door. Vamp me killed your mom and the thought bugs me every night. Every thought I had about killing bugs me every night, but I’m a different man, have been for quite some time now.” He looks over at Riley. “I have no remorse for what I did to you, mate. At least I like Wood, you I can’t even stand.”

Riley points his gun at the vampire. “Give me one reason not to put you down right now.”

Spike smiles at the stupid president. “ A) guns can’t kill me and B) if you kill me now, all that would do is just send me back to the wolram and hart buildings as a bleeding phantom as long as I’m wearing this.” He points to the amulet that lays on his chest. “ So why don’t you two wanks leave killing Spike talk after all this is over with. Assuming that your not dead, and I’m assuming both of you won’t even make it to the Wolfram and Hart building.”

“You realize that you shouldn’t even be going.” Wood begins. “ It’d be better off if you just staked youself.”

“That’s not happening.” Buffy walks over to the three men looking very angry. “There will be no killing Spike, I told you that earlier today and I’m telling both of you now. I don’t care what Spike did in the past, we need all the muscle we can get.”

“See, she’s on my side.” Spike taunts the soldier and the former principal.

“Shut up Spike.” Buffy kindly snaps at him. “Your not helping.”

Spike hops up on the hood of the hummer taking a drag of his smoke. “However you want it pet.”

Buffy turns to Riley. “I’m going to tell you this, because I know you’ll listen. Robin is very stubborn and thinks it’s okay to kill one of my best men. Riley, there will be no staking Spike any time during the battle, make sure you and your new best friend stick to it.”

“But Buffy, Angelus wants us to bring him to us.” Riley begins to wine until Buffy puts her hand over his mouth.

“No argueing either, Spike stays.” She takes her hand off Riley’s mouth, then begins to speak to him seriously. “Now, in just a few minutes we will be marching into L.A, are you okay with your guys marching in first?”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way.” Riley says confidentely, even though a bit ashamed.

“Good, now I need to talk to Spike. I’m trusting both you to go with the plan of not killing Spike. Do I have your guy’s promise?”

Both Robing and Riley roll their eyes like a couple of pre teen kids. “Yes.” Riley says.

“Robin?” Buffy looks at the former principal with convicting eyes.

“Loud and clear.” Robin says as Buffy walks towards Spike who is still smoking on the hood of the hummer.

“Good, now I need to talk with Spike.” Buffy grabs Spike’s hand and pulls him off the hood and they walk off together.

Spike looks back at both of the vengeful men with a huge smile. “She needs to talk to me in private.” Buffy pulls him away from taunting the other two men.

As they leave, Wood looks back Riley, both feeling very guilty. “So, about killing Spike.” Riley comes into listen closely.

Buffy yells from ahead of them. “THERE WILL BE NO KILLING SPIKE.”

Both look back at Spike and Buffy with hatred and humility. Both have the same reply. “ God, I hate him.”

4. Potential
Kennedy looks at her comrades, the only three surviving of the original potentials, like the others, they have the gut feeling that this will be their last battle. She thinks back to their first battle like this, a battle that destroyed a whole town in California, and this battle proves to be even worse. But she remembers that most of them were only teenagers when they fought that battle, now she is staring at three grown women. Not just women but slayers, the best slayers since Buffy and Faith. Together the four of them have held the line for well over ten years and they will continue to keep that tradition going on to the next day, considering there is a next day. First she stares at Vi, the girl who has been chosen not just to be a slayer but to go to a place that only Buffy Summers has been before. Vi is not the silly little girl who first arrived at the Summers home all those years ago, she is a confident mother of one who also fights demons and vamps at night. Vi also managed to do something Buffy has never done, she put an end to the vamp known as Drusilla, truly a champion. Her gaze goes to Rona, who at first chose not to be a slayer and just lived a normal life, but once Buffy gave her a call she came running waiting for the kill. And then there is Choanne, who can now speak fluent english, she also has become one of the bravest slayers. And then Kennedy thinks about her life as a slayer, how she began raised up on a pedestal just because she was dating a powerful, it got to the point that she put all her power in the fact that she was dating someone powerful. It was only after Willow left that she realized that she always had the strength inside her and that she wasn’t really a lesbian just a bratty kid in need of attention. Now she is the leader of a vast army of slayers, together they march into L.A to give their lives for the cause one last time and she couldn’t be prouder of her life. She over at the brave warriors, she’s glad the four of them have this moment, it’s been so long since they had a chance to speak. “Well ladies, this is it.”

“Does anyone else have butterflies in their stomach?” Choanne asks.

“Yeah, big time, remember this is my first big battle since the other hell mouth. I hope I’m not rusty.”

Vi puts her arm on her shoulder. “Rona, you know you’ll do fine and this time you have a very functional arm.” They both look at Kennedy with faith in her leader ship skills. “ So what’s the battle plan.”

Kennedy thinks about this for a minute and realizes that she didn’t really think of that. “We go into L.A and try to kill as many vamps and demons as possible, that’s all we can do. If we die before we get to that law frim, at least we know that we have given our lives to the cause.”

“Well, that’s relieving, anything else, Kirk?” Rona sighs.

“Above all else, most of us don’t have to make it to the building, but Vi I’m sure Giles already told you that you, your husband, and two others need to make it to the building right?”

“Yes,” Vi says very unsure at the plan Giles pitched to her earlier. “Apparentely we are going to do a spell that will turn me into a hand or something.”

Kennedy knods at this, remembering Willow telling her about a spell she had to do in college. “Then that’s the second part of our mission, make sure that Vi and her family make it to the law offices. Give your lives if you have to.”

Choanne responds to this. “You have no other strategy, no big surprise for the vamps.”

Kennedy shakes her head, a little upset that she has nothing else to say. “Nope, nothing else. We are way beyond stragedy, today we are just soldiers in a giant army.”

“Great, the world is so going to end.” Rona shrugs.

“Maybe,” Kennedy holds onto her sword with a beautiful stance. “but I just want to say that I couldn’t have been prouder of you girls. When we went into this, we were just stupid little girls, now look at us. We are warriors who will hold the line til the very end, which is coming soon and we all know it. I know that most of the other slayers who were with have fallen, but we still stand. And stand is what I expect all of you to do through out the war. I know none of us will run the way we did when Caleb almost destroyed us, we are beyond that, we are full fledged vampire slayers.” Kennedy sticks her hand out as the other three put there hands in with her. “Remember, we are the first of out kind, if we die, it will be as an example to future generations.” The four raise their hands up in a victory yell and then they break.

Rona looks over at Kennedy with a sarcastic glare. “Man, that speech was corny then the ones Buffy used to give.”

Kennedy smiles at this. “True, but don’t forget your lineage, this is our destiny. All of this is destiny.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Rona says walking away. “I hope your alive by the end of this so I can smack you upside the head for dragging me back to cause.”

Kennedy looks over at Rona and yells back. “You better hold the line.”

Rona waves back. “Oh, I’ll do that, I won’t be happy about it, but I’ll hold your friggin line.”

Vi, Kennedy, and Choanne just smile at eachother, knowing that this is probably the last moment that they will have together.
