42 EXT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX standing in front of the mansion.
DAWN
Where do we go in?
LUX
Well what do you say? Should we try and break the front door open?
DAWN
People might see us and call the cops… we'd better go 'round back.
They start walking around the house.
LUX
You know, I think tonight you should finally tell me about yourself, 'cause the whole “my past is not interesting” thing isn't really helping us getting closer. And frankly? I’m getting tired of it. If you really want us to be friends, you should just trust me and tell. Besides, if there really is a curse, I couldn't bear dying without knowing that particular secret. You know…that big one?
DAWN
I guess you're right, but then I want to know what really went down with your dad, 'cause I know you’re not telling me the truth.
LUX turns red
DAWN
And I want to know where that friction between you and Melvin comes from. Sexual tension much?
LUX
WHAT... Oh, you little...
DAWN runs into the house, LUX chases after her.
39 INT. OFFICE - DAY
GAIL (on the radio)
... -you heard, this witness is still in a bit of a shock, and quite frankly, I believe we all are. Well, that's it for me, back to Bob!
BOB (on the radio)
Thanks Gail. For those of you, who've just tuned in, there's a tiger on the loose in Southern California. And not just any one, a very big one--larger than usual. Some eyewitnesses have claimed it to be over 5 feet tall, as wild as it sounds. Its current position is unknown, but it was raging down South at approximately 70 miles per hour. Now police have warned citizens of all cities along the South-California coast to stay in, and people in surrounding areas to be extra cautious. With me to talk about this phenomenon is Professor Dick Davies, who teaches biology at the University of Sacra-.
A hand turns the radio off. We ZOOM OUT, to see it's XANDER's.
52 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: LUX and DAWN checking out the living room.
LUX
Nothing here...
DAWN (whispering)
I can see that!
She turns to LUX, who's pale faced and standing still.
DAWN (whispering)
What?
LUX points at her ear and then at the door to the dining room. DAWN nods. She picks up a pot and holds it high in the air, and then she nods at the door. LUX points at herself in fear. DAWN angrily nods. LUX sighs and tip-toes to the door. She pushes it open and DAWN throws the pot. LUX yells. The CAMERA doesn't move, so we don't see what they've hit.
53 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and KENNEDY standing in the hallway, WILLOW is still in the living room.
BUFFY
Are you ready yet?
WILLOW (O.S.)
Almost!
BUFFY
C'mon hurry up.
KENNEDY
Chill, we'll be there in time!
WILLOW walk down the stairs, with a bag.
WILLOW
Ok, ready.
BUFFY
Hold the fort for us Xand?
XANDER (O.S.)
Will do. Have fun.
BUFFY opens the front door.
CAMERA ON: The giant tiger-like demon, bare teethed standing just outside their door.
TEASER
1 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A window, we follow the light that falls through it, until it reaches a chair. MELVIN is on it. His head is hanging down, he's snoring.
MELVIN (In his sleep)
Mommy.

ACT I
2 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY looking around. CAMERA turns to see where the light is coming from. There are two lights, they're obviously head lights.
XANDER (yelling)
Get out of the way.
The car starts to drive in their direction, quickly accelerating. KENNEDY gets out of the way. But the BEAST prepares a counter charge and starts rushing to it. They hit each other right on. The car's nose gets crushed and smoke is coming from the engine. The BEAST gets thrown across the street, about a fifty yards. KENNEDY starts to walk to the BEAST. Hands clammed around the Scythe firmly. The BEAST is covered with blood and a big wound on his side is showing. It appears not to be breathing. She steps toward it to check.
WILLOW (yelling)
Kennedy? Are you alright?
KENNEDY walks away from the BEAST and toward WILLOW, who's standing a few yards away from the car, in her direction.
KENNEDY
I'm alright, but I think he didn't make it though.
WILLOW
Good.
She turns to XANDER, who, being supported by BUFFY, has just joined them.
WILLOW
You alright?
XANDER
Yeah, I'm gonna be fine, just a few bruises.
He takes a look at the car.
But wait 'till my insurance company hears this.
BUFFY
Are you covered against abnormally large tiger-demons that ram your car?
XANDER
You know, I think I am, I have to look it up in the policy though! How about our big friend?
KENNEDY
I think he's dead alright.
She turns around to point him out.
He's right over th-...
CAMERA ON: The spot, where the BEAST lay a few moments ago, there's nothing there but a puddle of blood now.
3 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN tightening her grip around the bat.
LUX steps out of the shadow, her face covered with tears. DAWN drops the bat.
DAWN
Oh poor Lux.
DAWN hugs her.
DAWN
I'm sorry I wasn't on your side. What do you say, wanna go torture him now?
LUX
I don't want to see him like this, he'll think I'm weak.
DAWN
We'll just leave him alone tied to that chair all night, how does that sound?
LUX (smiling through her tears)
Much better!
DAWN releases LUX.
DAWN
I'm just gonna get our stuff from upstairs.
DAWN turns around and start ascending the stairs.
LUX
Slap him in the face for me.
DAWN turns around again.
DAWN
I wi-...
DAWN grabs LUX and throws them both to the ground as a DEMON comes from behind LUX and tries to smack her, he misses and hits the stairs instead.
DAWN
Run!
LUX runs through the house, closely followed by DAWN
4 INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX, out of breath.
LUX
What was that?
DAWN
Long story, now's not the time.
LUX
Indeed not.
LUX points at the door.
DAWN turns around to view the slit under the door, a shadow is moving. It moves away. DAWN sighs. Then it moves back again, With a big crack it smashes the door out. LUX shrieks. DAWN grabs her hand and they take a run for another door, while the DEMON smashes the table and throws a chair to LUX, who ducks just in time. They both make it into the next room.
5 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, BUFFY, WILLOW and XANDER walking on the street. BUFFY still supporting XANDER. We look at them from the side, from some dark bushes. Suddenly a shadow (of the BEAST) moves past the bushes.
WILLOW
We'll all head straight to your place. It will probably find us there, but we have the best arms there, we should be able to fight it off this time.
BUFFY
Don't look at me, I don't mind, it's not my deal. I'm more concerned about Xander.
XANDER
And Dawn.
WILLOW
Bad idea, until the curse is lifted, they're better off inside that house. Because when they try to leave it will be triggered.
BUFFY
But she's still unprotected.
KENNEDY
Hey, let's be logical for once, shall we? We've got to stick together, if we want to be able to stand the least of chance against this thing. If we go to the mansion, we'll lure the BEAST there and Dawn will be in even more danger. If we go to the hospital for Xander, we'll endanger everyone there. To me it seems, sticking together and getting as far away from others as possible is what we should do.
XANDER
She has a point.
BUFFY and WILLOW nod. Then the Scythe lights up again and sends out another flash, which knocks both Buffy and Kennedy over and with the lack of BUFFY's support also XANDER falls down. From out of nowhere the BEAST jumps into the picture and makes a sprint for the Scythe. WILLOW fires an energy ball, but again it bounces off and leaves a crater in the road. The BEAST grabs the Scythe and runs on. By this time KENNEDY has gotten up, while BUFFY is helping XANDER.
WILLOW (yelling)
What are you doing? Run!
KENNEDY starts running after the BEAST, which has stopped and is now standing still on the middle of the street. Suddenly KENNEDY rises up the sky going even faster, she turns around to see WILLOW with her white hair, mumbling something, her right index finger pointed at KENNEDY. KENNEDY looks at the BEAST and lays her arms next to her body like wings, she accelerates more. Then she lands right behind the BEAST. It turns its head to her, but doesn't attack. A portal begins to establish in front of it. It turns to it, and jumps through with the Scyther. KENNEDY then faints.
6 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The DEMON throwing himself at the door, it shakes a bit, but doesn't break. It tries twice more, but then gives up and goes away.
CAMERA MOVES through the door.
7 INT. MANSION KITCHEN - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX sceptically looking at the great old closet blocking the door.
LUX
You think it's gone?
DAWN
I'll try the other door.
LUX
So, let's block it!
DAWN
No. If it can't find a way to get to us, it'll wander the house and eventually go for Melvin. I know you don't him, but you can't hate him that much.
LUX
No, I guess not, but that doesn't mean I have to give up my own life for him.
DAWN
What are you talking about. We know where he's coming from, we can set a trap for it and kill it.
LUX
Kill that thing? Are you mad? Have you seen how strong it is?
DAWN
Strong, yes, but we've got brains and weapons.
DAWN points at the collection of kitchen equipment.
LUX
With that? We can't kill him with that! We need wooden stakes and holy water!
DAWN
Sorry, that only works on vampires.
LUX
Oh, like you know!
DAWN
As a matter of fact I do, my sister and her friends have been hunting them for over 7 years now.
LUX is startled and doesn't know what to say.
DAWN
Ok, here's the plan.
FADE OUT
8 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and XANDER bowed over KENNEDY. She slowly opens her eyes.
WILLOW
Oh poor baby, are you alright?
KENNEDY
I'm fine!
She stands up and faces the slowly shrinking portal.
But we've got to go in there to get the Scythe back.
WILLOW
Oh no, we don't, that's way to dangerous. We've lost this one.
BUFFY
We can now first save Dawn, and we can try to figure out what happened.
KENNEDY
No, we must go.
WILLOW
It's only a weapon, no need to get killed over, it's not the end of the world.
KENNEDY (mumbling)
I've lost my powers!
BUFFY
Come again?
KENNEDY
My slayer powers, they're gone, I can feel it.
BUFFY looks at WILLOW
BUFFY
Is she right Will? Can you feel it too?
WILLOW puts her hand to KENNEDY's chest, her hand begins to glow, but only weakly. She looks up to BUFFY, sad.
BUFFY
She's right, we have to get in there.
WILLOW
But Buffy, we don't know what's out there or how to get back!
XANDER
And what about Dawn?
BUFFY looks around nervously, in fear.
KENNEDY
Xan, you go to the mansion and keep the girls there. Will, me and Buffy are going in, your own call if you wanna come with, but if you ever want to see me again, you're probably our best way out.
XANDER looks at BUFFY.
BUFFY
I'm sorry Xander, I can't keep choosing for Dawn forever, this time I have to help myself first.
KENNEDY looks at WILLOW
WILLOW
Alright then.
KENNEDY, BUFFY and WILLOW step into the shrinking portal one by one. XANDER limps off.
9 INT. MANSION KITCHEN - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door, there's some noise, the DEMON is stumbling through the hall. There's a silence. Then the DEMON crashes through the door. DAWN comes out of nowhere and smacks it in the face with a steel pan. The DEMON screams and takes a step back and DAWN slides onto the isle. She sits there, with her legs crossed. Her head leaning on her hand, and her elbow on her knee.
DAWN (teasingly)
Ah poor demon, you got hurt?
The DEMON gives her an odd look.
DAWN
Come and get it, big boy!
It charges, but DAWN slides off the isle just in time, the DEMON crashes into it.
DAWN (yelling)
Now!
CAMERA ON: LUX hiding behind the isle. She gets up and with a kitchen knife she's holding, she cuts loose the rack above the isle. It falls on the DEMON.
LUX
Is it?
DAWN
Not a chance.
LUX
What next?
DAWN
You hide.
DAWN climbs onto the sink, while LUX walks to the corner and ducks. The DEMON awakes, it shakes off the wooden remainders of the rack. Then it stands up and sees DAWN on the sink. It charges again, but it's too slow, DAWN jumps over onto another part of the counter. She opens the cupboard and picks up a pile of plates, when the DEMON turns to her again, she starts throwing them at his face. He covers up with his hands and they get cut. DAWN turns to pick up another pile, but the DEMON grabs her legs. He begins to pull, but his hands are sliperry from the blood. DAWN holds onto the cupboard with one hand, with the other she grabs a plate. She throws it right between it's eyes. They start to bleed and with a loud roar the DEMON throws DAWN across the room, then he grabs for his bleeding eyes. DAWN crashes into another closet. LUX shuffles to her from her hiding place.
LUX
Dawn?
DAWN looks up.
DAWN
Get back.
LUX
But?
DAWN
Sits up straight.
DAWN (commanding)
Get back!
The DEMON hears her and turns around, he immediately shuts up. LUX quickly crawls back. The DEMON charges for DAWN, but she smirks. She pulls the drawer from the sink and throws it at him. He stops and falls flat on his back. DAWN climbs up, limping a bit, she looks at LUX, who crawls out of her hiding. The both of them walk over to the demon, they bow over to it. It's eyes are bleeding and the drawer is on its chest, bottom facing up.
LUX
Is it this time?
DAWN nods.
LUX
From a drawer?
DAWN picks up the drawer to reveal a large collection of knives and forks sticking into the DEMON's chest.
ACT II
10 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and KENNEDY right outside the portal.
KENNEDY
What is this place?
WILLOW
It's another dimension.
KENNEDY (amazed)
Just like that, no falling through colourful tunnels of light?
WILLOW
Disappointed much?
KENNEDY
Sort of.
BUFFY
C'mon let's go find the Scythe, then we can all go home.
WILLOW
Let's try this way.
WILLOW walks to a small path between two large rock cliffs.
KENNEDY
Looks dangerous.
BUFFY
Well over the years you'll find that the average demon has a fetish for dangerous.
BUFFY follows WILLOW. KENNEDY joins them. They start walking the path between the cliffs. Their sounds fade away as the CAMERA MOVES UP the cliff, where a large vulture is sitting. It flies up and start circling around above them.
FADE TO:
11 EXT. CLIFF PATH - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: The scoobies walking through the path, having to climb over the occasional rock that blocks their way.
KENNEDY
So it's like a whole different universe?
WILLOW
Yes, in different dimension's nothing is the same. Whereas in different realities somethings or people are the same, just some different things have happened along the chain of events.
KENNEDY
And portal's are like doors, instead to different rooms, they lead to different dimensions or realities. So what's this plane thing?
WILLOW
They're like sets of dimensions and realities that belong together. Like when the dimensions and realities are rooms, planes are the house.
KENNEDY
Right, and Dawn is like the incredible house-melting lady.
WILLOW
That is one way of putting it. She turns all the different rooms in our house into one big room…
They turn around a corner, there mouths fall open. The path has lead them to a big open area surrounded by cliffs. Across from the path is temple, built into the cliff.
12 INT. MANSION LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX sitting on the floor opposite to each other. There's a silence.
LUX
Alright, I'm ready now.
DAWN
Are you sure?
LUX
Definitely.
DAWN
Alright then. See, everything you believed in as a child, every shadow down the hall, every squeaky noise under the bed, everything you were of as a child, everything you were told was just a figment of your imagination. All those things are real, they exist right under our very nose.
CAMERA ON: LUX's uncertain face. CAMERA starts circling around them, FADING from one image to another, we see them talking, but we don't hear them anymore. Slowly we start to hear them again.
LUX
How come no one knows? How come I've never seen one? How come no one else I know has ever seen one?
DAWN
For most normal people running into a demon or a vampire means certain death, no telling the tale after. And those who do survive an encounter with the supernatural don't really tend to talk about it.
LUX
Why not?
DAWN
Don't ask me, ask Kara!
LUX
She had... oh god, I feel so guilty now.
DAWN
Don't worry about it. Anyway, that's why people don't talk. And the government isn't really helping either. They have very little knowledge on how the demon world works.
LUX (amazed)
They know too?
DAWN
Yeah, last time they tried to get more involved was when they picked up the ingenious plan to use demon body parts to assemble a super soldier Frankenstein-style. Went miserably wrong, as the super soldier picked up an ingenious plan of his own. Buffy had to go in and stop him. Then they decided to keep there hands off it, to keep this battle to us. Only things left are a few elite commando's, who hunt for demons.
LUX
It's amazing, I can't really quite believe it yet.
There's a loud bang. They look at each other.
DAWN
You'd better.
XANDER (O.S. calling out)
Dawn!... Lux!
DAWN sighs.
13 INT. TEMPLE ENTRY HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW walking through the large entry hall of the temple, it looks rather Egyptian. There are large columns in a square on the side, and the hall is about forty yards both long and broad. In the middle is a small water basin.
KENNEDY
Where are we?
BUFFY
That's what I'd like to know, what can you tell us Will?
WILLOW
By the looks of it, this is not a natural dimension.
KENNEDY gives her a look.
WILLOW
It's artificial, meaning some magical power created it for a special purpose.
BUFFY
The Scythe.
WILLOW
Most likely yeah, that beast seemed to own the Scythe or it at the least it was its keeper.
KENNEDY
And that would make this his home?
WILLOW
Yes, but not necessarily. I mean his home is here somewhere, but that doesn't mean, only his home is here. There could be more keeper off other things here as well.
KENNEDY
So this is like an arms dealers house?
BUFFY
No, this is it's home alright.
WILLOW
And how do you know?
BUFFY
The style of this building.
WILLOW
What about it?
BUFFY
Same as in the place I picked the Scythe up.
WILLOW
But that wasn't the same place, right?
BUFFY
No, much smaller, and it wasn't in another dimension, it was just a hidden place.
WILLOW
Perhaps the style has some protective or some empowering function.
KENNEDY
Right magical architecture.
WILLOW
As a matter of fact, it does exist, but that has to do with the actual construction. No, what I mean are the painting of the wall, the symbols, the patterns of the tiles. It can actually have a magical value.
KENNEDY
Right, so the red line across the walls works like a barbed wire.
WILLOW
Now, you're getting the hang of it.
BUFFY
Very nice and all, but the thing I'm interested in most is, where that beast is.
WILLOW closes her eyes, her hair turns white. A cut appears on her face, across her cheek, she takes a step back and falls. She opens her eyes again and her hairs turns back.
WILLOW
That's not going to work.
KENNEDY and BUFFY rush over, as WILLOW gets up.
KENNEDY
What happened?
WILLOW
It's some kind of anti-magic protection. I saw him, that beast. It attacked me...
She touches the cut with her finger, she looks at the blood on it.
and not without any result.
WILLOW gets up.
KENNEDY
How do find him now?
WILLOW
The old fashioned way, we look.
BUFFY
Can you do any magic whatsoever in this place?
WILLOW holds out her hand and makes an energy ball.
WILLOW
It appears so!
She twists her wrist and the ball disappears.
BUFFY
No, make it come back.
WILLOW twists her wrist and it pop up again.
BUFFY
Shoot it at one of the columns.
WILLOW throws it at one of the columns, the ball hits it, small pieces of rock fall off. WILLOW smirks
KENNEDY
What is she getting at?
14 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: XANDER, DAWN and LUX, sitting in silence, looking around bored.
Pause.
LUX
Isn't there a way WE can lift it?
DAWN looks at XANDER.
DAWN
It could be done.
XANDER
No way, too dangerous.
DAWN
And what if they don't return before Monday morning. They'll start tearing this place down and we'll still be in it.
XANDER
You know they won't.
LUX
But they'll call the police and they will remove us from the building.
XANDER
Okay, you know what, if they're not back Sunday evening we'll try it ourselves.
DAWN
Oh c'mon Xander, give us a break here, I mean, just go get the equipment, so we can study it. We don't have to perform the spell. Just so we know the plan B.
LUX sits up on her knees and makes a sad face.
LUX
Please!
XANDER
No.
DAWN
Not gonna work.
LUX
Pl-Please-ease-ease!?!?
XANDER
No...
LUX crawls closer and puts her elbows in his lap, supporting her face with her folded hands.
LUX
Please?
XANDER
I said no.
LUX smirks, she moves her elbows to the middle. XANDER's face changing to a painful one.
XANDER
Yes, yes, yes!
LUX crawls back and turns to DAWN, while XANDER grabs for his crotch.
LUX
See what a little persistence can do.
ACT III
15 INT. TEMPLE ENTRY HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW's face, her eyes are closed. She opens her eyes. ZOOM OUT to see BUFFY and KENNEDY standing on her sides, her hair is turning back from white.
BUFFY
Well?
WILLOW
That beast is protected from magic, but the Scythe indeed isn't.
BUFFY
Where do we go?
WILLOW walks toward the water basin. Her hairs turn white underway. She stops at it, BUFFY and KENNEDY again, stand by her side. WILLOW holds her hand up. Some of the water in the basin, moves up and floats in the air. It changes to a large irregular shape, we can recognize the front of the temple on the front of the water.
WILLOW
This is the entire complex.
The water changes to the shape of the entry hall, with the wall on the front side left out, so they can look into it.
WILLOW
This is where we are. Left-
The water changes shape to a large set of smaller and bigger rooms all on the left side.
-will take you into the treasure chambers, lots of gold, silver and jewellery, but nothing of any value.
The water changes back to the entry hall.
KENNEDY
Come again?
WILLOW
No magical value, they can be sold for lots of money, but you can't really use them for anything. Right ahead-
The water changes shape to a collection of hallways tunnels on different height levels, all eventually leading up to one giant hall.
-will lead you through a maze of little hallways, crammed with all sorts of trap, onto-
The water changes into the giant hall.
-the main treasure chamber. Magical weapons, books and equipment in every possible way.
BUFFY
Where they keep the Scythe.
WILLOW
Not quite, there's a lot of powerful things, but nothing near the strength of the Scythe.
The water changes back to the entry hall.
KENNEDY
Then there's left.
The water turns around so that the right wall is now left out, and they look right up to the door on the left.
WILLOW
A cave complex partly turned into prisoner slash cemetery.
The water door opens. From the basin water starts flowing through the air to the door. It forms a collection of caves and tunnels, all looking rather small. The water at the front starts falling down and the tunnels take its place, making it look, like someone is descending the tunnels, eventually it ends at a large cave. Again, there's a front of a temple built into the wall off the cave, this time it's a small temple, with merely one entrance. And only one level.
KENNEDY
Let me guess, it's in there.
WILLOW
Yes, that's what it tells me, I can't look inside it though.
All of the water falls down and WILLOW's hair turns back. She starts walking to the left door. BUFFY and KENNEDY follow her.
WILLOW
The signs on the wall, they protect this temple from the outside. Once you're in you can look all around it, providing you know the right magic. But from the outside you can't find it. But that last temple, it's a different building, it has it's own protection, and we're outside, so we can't look in. Now that beast is something different all together, it has some kind of complete protection from magic, or at least my kind of magic.
They reach the 20 feet steel doors.
KENNEDY
You think we could stop by one of those rooms on the right before we leave, cause I feel a shopping spree coming up
WILLOW gives her a look, then her hair turns white, and she pushes the sky, as if she were pushing the 20 feet steel doors. They open, we look into the tunnel, small bundles of light are coming from holes in the roof. They start descending. FADE several times TO pictures of them climbing through caves, walking through tunnels.
FADE TO:
16 INT. TEMPLE PRISON - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, WILLOW and BUFFY walk into a cell bloc, on both side of the isle they walk on, are small cells. It's a dead end, at the end of the isle, is a torture chair.
KENNEDY
Are you sure, this is the right way? This doesn't look well to me.
WILLOW
I'm sure, this is where we were supposed to go.
KENNEDY
We're wrong here, it didn't really make sense anyway, why would you keep your most precious weapon unguarded, while the other weapons are safely kept behind traps.
WILLOW gives KENNEDY an angry look.
WILLOW
Think, what if someone who didn't know what the Scythe was, stumble upon this temple, he would go for the gold, or if he knows magic, he would go for the weapons. No way, they would go for the prison or cemetery. It's a distraction… so they only have to deal with people, who are actually looking for the Scythe.
KENNEDY
Sure, sure!
BUFFY
Guys, knock off the fighting and help me out here.
WILLOW and KENNEDY go to BUFFY, who's pushing the torture chair. It's to heavy for her. KENNEDY tries to help pushing, but has no strength. WILLOW's hair turns white, she telepathically moves the chair, a big gaping hole shows. BUFFY and KENNEDY look it in, it's dark.
BUFFY
After you, ladies.
WILLOW jumps in, then KENNEDY and finally BUFFY. We follow her as she falls down. It's dark, we can see the rocky sides of the tunnel. There's light at the end of the tunnel. We can see KENNEDY and WILLOW laying there somewhere on the ground.
17 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: BUFFY falling from a hole in the roof, she falls on WILLOW and KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
Ouch!
BUFFY gets up from above her.
BUFFY
Sorry!
She helps KENNEDY up. WILLOW gets up herself.
WILLOW
It seems this was the way indeed.
She looks around.
KENNEDY
Yeah, sorry for doubting you.
WILLOW
It's alright, now let's get going, there's something about this place that I don't like.
CAMERA MOVES away from them, BUFFY checks out a cave to the left. While KENNEDY checks out another hole in the roof. CAMERA MOVES further away. Around the corner of the cave is a column. CAMERA STOPS. A MUMMY moves into the frame, it peeks around the corner and sees KENNEDY and WILLOW. Then it moves back and sneaks off.
18 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: LUX and DAWN, sitting across the room from XANDER.
DAWN
It's only a little magic, it won't do any harm.
LUX
Do you really wanna sleep here tonight?
DAWN
Wouldn't you rather just go home?
XANDER
Sorry ladies, no is my final answer.
DAWN and LUX look at each other, they nod smirking.
CUT TO:
19 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: XANDER's face, it's looking very painful. ZOOM OUT to see both LUX and DAWN with their elbows in XANDER's lap.
XANDER
Alright, alright… please have mercy!
They let go. DAWN moves over to XANDER's bag, she opens it and starts unpacking the magical equipment.
DAWN
Alright, now magical spells are really not that big of a deal. Requires concentrations and will. Magical powers are not always a prerequisite… They do come in handy though, but we'll survive without them.
LUX listens to her carefully. DAWN hands her over some candles.
DAWN
Make a triangle with them. Try to use an equal number of candles on each site.
DAWN takes a look at the spell book.
DAWN
Xander, which off these powders looks greenest to you?
DAWN holds up to battles with a red and a blue powder. XANDER gives her a look.
DAWN
That's what I though, the blue one will do.
XANDER
Hey!
DAWN
Just messing with you, we need the blue one.
DAWN moves over to the candle triangle, she sprinkles the blue powder over each candle. As she does, they light up. LUX looks at it, amazed. DAWN picks up the spell book and lays it in the middle of the circle.
DAWN
Everyone take a side of the triangle.
They do so, as does DAWN, she faces the book, so she can read from it.
DAWN
You two chant this verse, and don't stop; 'May those who wander; come to rest.' Keep doing it and don't stop for any reason.
DAWN looks at them.
DAWN
Well?
XANDER and LUX starts chanting.
DAWN
He, who wonders, let the night fall. May your wishes have come true, may your needs have been fulfilled, may what life neglected you have been given you in death. Sleep sleeper. Die dead. Sleep sleeper. Die dead.
DAWN sprinkles the blue powder on her hand.
He, who wonders, let the night fall.
She blows the powder off her hand. DAWN starts chanting with XANDER and LUX. In the middle of the triangle the blue powder twirls around like a tornado. Faster and faster it spins. Eventually it forms a shape. It's NORRINGTON's GHOST, his legs have been replaced by a tail of blue cloud. And he himself is transparent blue as well. He flies right at DAWN.
ACT IV
20 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and KENNEDY walking through the cave. BUFFY suddenly stops. The others look at her surprised.
WILLOW
What is it?
BUFFY
Shhh!
There's a pause.
BUFFY
There's something out here.
WILLOW
Like what?
BUFFY
I don't know, all this time, I've had a feeling we were being followed and now I'm sure, I just heard something from back there.
WILLOW and KENNEDY look into the empty tunnel.
BUFFY
I know, there's nothing to see, but I swear something is out there.
WILLOW
Should we fight it?
BUFFY
No, I think we should just walk on, keep moving.
BUFFY winks at them. She picks up a rock. So does KENNEDY, they move around the corner. While there CAMERA stays looking into the tunnel, from behind a rock, a MUMMY comes up. It walks forward. CAMERA MOVES back, to see BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW waiting around the corner. When the MUMMY reaches the corner, they move out of hiding, KENNEDY and BUFFY throws their rocks at him. His right arms and his chest get scattered, he takes a step back, but then regains balance and walks to them again. WILLOW's hairs turns white and she makes and throws a fireball at him. The MUMMY screams and on fire he runs at them, they avoid him and finally he falls down and burns to ashes.
WILLOW
Nice try, but one simple mummy isn't going to stop us.
KENNEDY
How 'bout a hundred, would that do it for you?
WILLOW looks up at KENNEDY, who's looking into the tunnel. BUFFY and WILLOW move over.
CAMERA ON: The tunnel it's filled with MUMMIES, they're all walking to the scoobies.
BUFFY
Run!
The scoobies run away, the MUMMIES begin to run as well.
CAMERA ON: The Scoobies running through a tunnel, they want to run ahead, they come at an intersection, but the tunnel in front of them is full of MUMMIES as well. WILLOW sends out a fire blaze. The MUMMIES all incinerate, but from tunnels on the side new ones come. The scoobies then decide to take the other tunnel. They continue running, followed by the MUMMIES. They stumble onto a small hall, two tunnels on the side, one on the right, one on the left. They go for the left one first, but MUMMIES are approaching from that tunnel, they turn to the left, but also from that tunnel they come. They turn around to the tunnel they came from. The MUMMIES have stopped running and are now slowly approaching them. KENNEDY and BUFFY pick up stones. And WILLOW's hair turns white as she conjures up two fireballs, one in each hand. The MUMMIES reach the hall and surround them. The scoobies are pressed against the wall and are now surrounded by about a hundred MUMMIES, while more are waiting in the tunnels.
21 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: NORRINGTON's GHOST flying at DAWN.
DAWN (screaming)
May those who wander; come to rest! May those who wander; come to rest!
NORRINGTON's GHOST gets flies into a blue shield, protecting DAWN. He gets repelled.
XANDER
No, Dawn!
NORRINGTON's GHOST makes a turn and now flies at XANDER, who is not chanting anymore. On the last moment DAWN jumps in front of him chanting. NORRINGTON's GHOST bounces into the shield again.
DAWN
Chant!
DAWN and XANDER now both continue chanting. The ghost continues flying around them in circles. Then all of a sudden, he flies up through the roof (he's an incorporeal ghost). DAWN stops chanting. XANDER and LUX follow her example.
LUX
Was that all?
DAWN ignores her and turns to XANDER.
DAWN (angry)
Didn't I tell you not to stop chanting?
XANDER
I'm sorry, I thought something went wrong.
DAWN (angry)
Nothing went wrong. He's incorporeal and tried to fix that by taking over my body, but the chanting repelled him.
XANDER
Again sorry, and thanks for saving me.
DAWN (grumpy)
Well… you're welcome!
LUX
Again, is he gone now?
DAWN
I think so, I believe he was supposed to incinerate, but I think this'll do.
XANDER gives her a look.
XANDER
Better make that sure, 'cause if you try to leave, while the curse isn't lifted… well you know the consequences of it yourself.
DAWN
I'll look it up.
DAWN moves over to the spell book and starts reading. CAMERA MOVES up through the roof, NORRINGTON's GHOST went through.
22 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: MELVIN tied to his chair. He seems to still be asleep. Then he opens his eyes. They glow blue. He smirks.
23 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW, surrounded by the MUMMIES, they are ready to strike.
BUFFY
Alright, on my sign we strike. We don't stop, just continue striking, 'till I dunno. You can stop when you're dead.
KENNEDY
Always the optimist!
BUFFY
Right…
The MUMMIES slowly start to close in, very slowly. Then we hear a sound, of a boulder being moved, the MUMMIES look up to something behind the Scoobies.
BUFFY (yelling)
NOW!
BUFFY throws her stone at the closest by MUMMY, it's head gets scattered, but the body remains attacking. All the MUMMIES now charge. KENNEDY throws her rock at one of the MUMMIES knees, it crashes and the MUMMY limps and falls. The other MUMMIES walk over it. WILLOW slingers her fireballs into the crowd. A few MUMMIES get set on fire and the others carefully avoid it. WILLOW conjures up more fireballs and throws them at another group. KENNEDY and BUFFY continue grabbing rocks and throwing them at them. BUFFY turns around to grab another rock. There's a hole in the wall behind them. A woman is hanging out of the hole and sticks out her hand at BUFFY. BUFFY looks up at her.
WOMAN
Grab my hand.
BUFFY looks at it, suspiciously.
WOMAN
You're not gonna make it against them.
BUFFY taps WILLOW and KENNEDY on the shoulder. WILLOW send a fire blaze into the crowd, keeping them at some more distance, until the front row, has turned into mouldering ashes. BUFFY grabs the WOMAN's hand and she helps her into the hole, then she grabs KENNEDY and helps her in. The MUMMIES again close in, as WILLOW prepares for a final blow. A circle of fire surrounds her on the ground. WILLOW has her hands together and her arms stretched out to the front. The flames reach higher and higher, until WILLOW is a mere shade surrounded by the flames. Then she quickly moves her hands from each other, until her hands are facing her sides. The circle of fire quickly expands in every possible way, it moves thought the tunnel and lays all the MUMMIES on fire. WILLOW grabs the womans and she helps her in, as the MUMMIES on fire walk around in chaos.
24 INT. TEMPLE TUNNEL - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: The WOMAN pushes a large boulder in front of the hole. All the lights disappear in the tunnels, she lights up a torch.
WOMAN
Quickly, follow me.
KENNEDY
Not so fast, we're very thankful that you saved us, but who are you, and how do we know we can trust you?
WOMAN
You can't, but I can bring you to someone who can tell you. But we must move quickly.
She starts walking through the dark tunnels. The others follow her.
The mummies are probably everywhere by now. It will be hard to reach the Scythe now.
BUFFY
You know about the Scythe?
WOMAN
What else do you think someone would do down here? If I didn't I would've gone to the treasure chambers, wouldn't I?
She takes a tunnel to the left.
BUFFY
I suppose.
They reach a bigger cave, there's an older woman in the room (MARGARETH), she turns to them.
MARGARETH
Finally, you have arrived. Now we can get out of this stinking hole.
BUFFY
Before we do... an explanation would be nice.
MARGARETH
I, Margareth , like you now, did enter this temple, four years ago with a group of three others, searching for the Scythe. We got it, but unfortunately, only one of us got away. I assume you've met her, since you did have the Scythe in your possession until recently, is it not true?
BUFFY
Yes, I did. But who have I met?
MARGARETH
The woman, who gave you the weapon. Long white hair, very old, presumably she was hidden in a temple with markings just like this one.
BUFFY
Yeah, the guardian, right?
MARGARETH
Correct. She is a guardian, and so am I and so is Ingrid.
She points at the other woman.
BUFFY
I'm sorry to inform, but your friend did not make it.
MARGARETH looks down.
MARGARETH
Unfortunate, but understandable.
KENNEDY
Hey break up here, what are guardians supposed to be?
INGRID
Dead slayers.
KENNEDY gives WILLOW a confused look. But she hunches.
MARGARETH
More or less, that is. We were once slayers that in death have come to terms with our fate, we have accepted what we are, and even past death, when we have lost our powers, we come back to assists slayers in their quests.
KENNEDY
Isn't that like the job of a watcher, excuse me if I'm wrong, it's from what I've been told; I don't have one.
MARGARETH
You're a slayer? And you have no watcher?… Odd, but that should not be a problem, the council has never really cared for their slayers anyway. Consider yourself lucky.
BUFFY
That is NOT true!
MARGARETH
I know, mister Giles; well with the possible exceptions of some of the actual watchers, the council itself and the rest of the watchers, I can tell you, do not care. They care about the cause. Not the way… Or perhaps, I need to remind of you the head of the council, mister Travers.
BUFFY
Dead.
MARGARETH
I'm sorry for him.
BUFFY
Along with most of the Council. Their main quarters go blown up.
MARGARETH
Less fortunate indeed. It's not like we hate those people, well most of them not, but their ways we disapprove of.
KENNEDY
Ladies, very interesting conversation, but can I break it up again. We have a weapon to retrieve, we can chat up, when we get back home.
MARGARETH
Home, very well. You are the Wicca, right?… what is the name again Ingrid?
INGRID
Willow.
WILLOW
Right.
MARGARETH
Then you'll have to force us a portal to get out, but that's for later, for now is following me.
MARGARETH walks off through another tunnel, the others follow.
25 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN browsing through the spell book. LUX and XANDER sitting by her.
DAWN
I don't get it, it is supposed to incinerate. There's no clue on what to do if it fails.
LUX
Perhaps we have to try again.
XANDER
What about this piece.
XANDER points out some notes at the bottom of the page.
DAWN
It's what to do if it takes over someone's body… This is just impossible, it should've incinerated. There's no explanation here to what may have caused it.
The door slams open. It's MELVIN.
MELVIN
I think I can explain.
26 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY climbing down a rock wall. She reaches the ground, KENNEDY, WILLOW, BUFFY, MARGARETH and INGRID are already there. CAMERA TURNS around, so we see the whole hall. The first half of the cave is empty, there's only a hole in the wall, from which they came and a big wooden door. Then there's a lava river and then there's some empty space and then the second temple build into the wall. They walk on over to the bridge over the lava.
BUFFY
Is it in there?
WILLOW
Yes, definitely.
BUFFY
What's the inside like?
MARGARETH
One big hall. The Scythe is kept on a big square rock, across from the door.
BUFFY
And that tiger?
MARGARETH
He protects it. He wanders around in that temple or in front of it. He never crosses the lava river, unless the Scythe is taken from it's place.
BUFFY
How did you beat him?
There's a pause.
MARGARETH
We didn't. One of the team members fought him off long enough for us to get away. It was a suicide mission. She had poisoned herself, biting her should've killed that beast. But it didn't, it just slowed him down enough for one of us to get out of here and get into a safe hidden temple. The beast can't be killed by anything else then the Scythe.
WILLOW
Tell us about it.
They reach the temple.
BUFFY
Alright, I have an idea and it doesn't include suicide. Willow, white hairs please.
WILLOW's hair turns white.
WILLOW
At your service.
BUFFY
Ingrid, how's your condition, can you run?
INGRID
Sure.
BUFFY
Ken, you're gonna fight.
KENNEDY
Fight, yes that's me.
BUFFY
Alright, this is the plan.
25 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: MELVIN in the door opening, smirking. XANDER is closest by, he punches him in the face and knocks him right out. DAWN immediately stands up and picks up a chair, which she swings at him. He steps out of the way and grabs LUX by the neck and drags her up.
MELVIN
Didn't I warn you children enough, to stay of my property? But no, you keep coming, you just keep on coming.
They circle around each other.
DAWN
Why don't you let her go, you've had your revenge.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN's face.
MELVIN
Revenge, you think this is about revenge?
He laughs at her.
Little child, do you really think revenge is what I want. If that was all, killing your friend here-
He looks at LUX, she looks at DAWN, scared.
Would be enough. But I'm not here just for revenge. I'm here to teach you all a lesson. A lesson about morals. What is right and wrong. How far you can go… Right and of all people, it seems you need one. Tying up people. Endangering friends with magic. Not to even begin about break and entering.
CAMERA ON: DAWN looks at him, angry.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN
MELVIN
But oh, that's right, your parents never even told you morals did they? 'Cause you don't have parents, you're a made-up something; yes, I can tell. You're not even real!
CAMERA ON: DAWN. Something breaks inside of her, she doesn't look angry anymore, just empty.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN, he smirks.
ZOOM OUT: Too also see LUX's face, her fear has been replaced by anger. She gives MELVIN an elbow in his crotch. He lets go of her. She turns around and punches him full on in the face. He falls down. She grabs for her hurtful hand and walks to DAWN.
LUX
Dawnie, are you alright? Don't listen to him. The only thing not real is he.
DAWN says nothing, just stares back at her.
LUX
Dawn? Can you hear me?
DAWN now looks angry, she pushes LUX to the side. We see MELVIN standing right behind her. He's looking angry as well. She tries to punch him with her right, but he blocks, he tries left, but she grabs his wrist. Then she kicks him in the stomach. He falls back but immediately stands up and jumps at her. He throws her on her back and starts strangling her. DAWN tries to get his hands off.
MELVIN
Why don't you give up. You're just a kid. Nothing more then an ignorant spoiled brat…
LUX swings the chair at him and he gets blown of off DAWN. LUX reaches out her hand and helps DAWN up. LUX and DAWN both strike a fighting pose as MELVIN crawls back on his feet. LUX and DAWN each take a side of him, DAWN his left, LUX his right. LUX throws a punch at him. He takes a step back to avoid it. DAWN then kicks his back, she hits him. He takes a step forward to keep in balance. DAWN grabs his wrist and smacks him into a wall. He falls down on his knees. XANDER, who has regained his consciousness, step to him.
He has a lot of blue powder in his hand, he close's MELVIN's nose, who gasps for air and at that moment, XANDER stuffs the blue powder in his mouth.
XANDER
May those who wander; come to rest!
He takes a step back as MELVIN starts to glow blue light. NORRINGTON's GHOST leaves MELVIN's body. He flies around the room in circles. As the whole house starts to glow as well.
NORRINGTON's GHOST (pissed off)
Very well! You win! I'll leave… but mark my words, no one will ever enter this house again.
He starts to laugh maniacally as the house starts to glow heavier and starts to tremble.
XANDER
It's going to collapse, we have to go.
DAWN grabs the bag with magical equipment and XANDER picks up MELVIN.
26 EXT. NORRINGTON MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The house is trembling and blue light is coming from all the windows. XANDER busts out the front door. He's carrying MELVIN over his shoulder. DAWN and LUX run out after him. When they reach the street, the turn around and watch the house. It trembles heavily, the blue light intensifies, there's a flash and a beam of blue light reaches out of a hole in the roof. NORRINGTON's GHOST is flying through the beam, up to the sky. Then there's another flash and finally the house collapses and the beam fades. The four of them get surrounded by big cloud of dust, we can only see their shades. They don't move.
27 INT. SCYTHE TEMPLE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The entrance BUFFY, KENNEDY, WILLOW, MARGARETH and INGRID walk in.
CAMERA TURNS AROUND: to a large square rock on top of it, is the Scythe. From behind the rock the BEAST walks up. It growls.
CAMERA ON: The temple, from the top of the entrance wall. BUFFY walks to the left, INGRID to the left. KENNEDY to the middle. WILLOW stands behind her and MARGARETH is at the door. BUFFY starts walking slowly.
BUFFY
Hey, beastie-boy, remember us. The ones from the car? Come on, don't tell me you forgot us?
The BEAST starts walking up to her, bare teethed. Meanwhile, KENNEDY takes a few steps to the front. The BEAST now prepares to charge for BUFFY. INGRID starts walking up from the right.
INGRID
Excuse me, I'm here too you know, don't give her all your attention.
The BEAST turns around and slowly walks toward INGRID. Then BUFFY takes a few more steps. The BEAST quickly walks toward her again. Then INGRID takes a sprint. The BEAST runs at her. When he passes KENNEDY. BUFFY begins to walk too. The BEAST makes a turn, and when he is near BUFFY again. She stops and KENNEDY starts sprinting. The BEAST runs for her, he takes a jump to take her down, when KENNEDY gets lift up from the ground and flies straight at the Scythe, off course, it's WILLOW levitating her. KENNEDY lands behind the rock and picks up the Scythe. She smirks as BUFFY and INGRID walk back and the BEAST turns to her only. KENNEDY jumps on top of the rock. The BEAST runs at her. He takes a jump at her and at that moment KENNEDY merely slides off the square, he crashes into the wall of the temple. KENNEDY walks to the middle of the room. The BEAST stands up again and walks to the middle of the room as well. The circle around each other. Then the BEAST charges, KENNEDY swings the Scythe at the paw he was striking with, it bleeds heavily and he can't stand on it. He charges again, but KENNEDY jumps aside and hits him his side. He starts bleeding more. He can barely stand. Then in a final attempt he jumps right at her. She makes a full swing and hits him in the face. He falls down, not even dead. The other walk up to him.
KENNEDY
Is it?
WILLOW
No, it's still breathing.
CAMERA ON: The BEAST, it is indeed still breathing. It has its eyes on BUFFY.
CAMERA ON: The scoobies standing around the BEAST. We look at them from the BEAST's point of view.
BUFFY
Give me the Scythe.
KENNEDY
Hey, can't I even hold it for five minutes?
BUFFY
Give it to me.
KENNEDY hands over the Scythe. BUFFY swings and hits the BEAST. The others make a horrid face.
CAMERA ON: The BEAST slowly closes his eyes.
CAMERA ON: The dead BEAST and the scoobies.
BUFFY
It was dying, I had to.
BUFFY walks off, the others follow her.
28 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and the others walking out of the temple. We look at them from behind. The part of the cave on the other side of the lava river is filled with thousands of MUMMIES.
BUFFY
I didn't order those.
Then there's a loud bang. Some of the MUMMIES fall down. The others look around, as do the scoobies to see what it is. Another one. A few rocks falls down from the roof. The temple begins to tremble.
BUFFY looks at WILLOW, questioning.
The trembling gets harder, and the lave begins to boil.
MARGARETH
It's the temple, it's collapsing.
A few MUMMIES fall in the lava. The other slowly back off.
BUFFY hands over the Scythe to KENNEDY.
BUFFY
Let's go.
WILLOW's hairs turn white, and she conjures up fireballs. They start to run. Over the bridge into the MUMMY army. WILLOW continuously throws fireballs into the crowd, as KENNEDY smashes four at a time, the others try as good as they can to fight them off with stones.
CUT TO:
29 INT. TEMPLE MAIN HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door on the left, it's open and the tunnel is filled with MUMMIES, we can see fire working it's way to the door. As it nears the door, we ZOOM IN. We can see WILLOW and the others fight their way out. As they all reach the door and walk out, the MUMMIES back off. The scoobies make a run for the front door. We can see one of the giant columns collapse behind them.
30 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The scoobies running out of the temple entrance. CAMERA TURNS AROUND to see the cliffs, are trembling as well. They are slowly moving to each other and that way closing the path. The scoobies make a run for it.
31 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The other end of the path between the cliffs. The cliffs are now only two feet from each other. The scoobies come running out between them. The portal is still there, but very small a mere one and a half feet radius. BUFFY jumps through, then KENNEDY, then WILLOW, then MARGARETH and finally INGRID.
32 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX taking care of XANDER, MELVIN unconscious on the other couch. BUFFY, WILLOW, KENNEDY, INGRID and MARGARETH walk in. DAWN, LUX and XANDER look up at them.
BUFFY
How did you-
XANDER
Don't ask.
DAWN
Sorry, my bad, we got a little impatient and did the spell ourselves.
BUFFY
Come again? And who is he?
She points at MELVIN.
LUX
Our hostage.
CAMERA ON: BUFFY's face, she's totally clueless.
BLACK OUT

CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX standing in front of the mansion.
DAWN
Where do we go in?
LUX
Well what do you say? Should we try and break the front door open?
DAWN
People might see us and call the cops… we'd better go 'round back.
They start walking around the house.
LUX
You know, I think tonight you should finally tell me about yourself, 'cause the whole “my past is not interesting” thing isn't really helping us getting closer. And frankly? I’m getting tired of it. If you really want us to be friends, you should just trust me and tell. Besides, if there really is a curse, I couldn't bear dying without knowing that particular secret. You know…that big one?
DAWN
I guess you're right, but then I want to know what really went down with your dad, 'cause I know you’re not telling me the truth.
LUX turns red
DAWN
And I want to know where that friction between you and Melvin comes from. Sexual tension much?
LUX
WHAT... Oh, you little...
DAWN runs into the house, LUX chases after her.
39 INT. OFFICE - DAY
GAIL (on the radio)
... -you heard, this witness is still in a bit of a shock, and quite frankly, I believe we all are. Well, that's it for me, back to Bob!
BOB (on the radio)
Thanks Gail. For those of you, who've just tuned in, there's a tiger on the loose in Southern California. And not just any one, a very big one--larger than usual. Some eyewitnesses have claimed it to be over 5 feet tall, as wild as it sounds. Its current position is unknown, but it was raging down South at approximately 70 miles per hour. Now police have warned citizens of all cities along the South-California coast to stay in, and people in surrounding areas to be extra cautious. With me to talk about this phenomenon is Professor Dick Davies, who teaches biology at the University of Sacra-.
A hand turns the radio off. We ZOOM OUT, to see it's XANDER's.
52 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: LUX and DAWN checking out the living room.
LUX
Nothing here...
DAWN (whispering)
I can see that!
She turns to LUX, who's pale faced and standing still.
DAWN (whispering)
What?
LUX points at her ear and then at the door to the dining room. DAWN nods. She picks up a pot and holds it high in the air, and then she nods at the door. LUX points at herself in fear. DAWN angrily nods. LUX sighs and tip-toes to the door. She pushes it open and DAWN throws the pot. LUX yells. The CAMERA doesn't move, so we don't see what they've hit.
53 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and KENNEDY standing in the hallway, WILLOW is still in the living room.
BUFFY
Are you ready yet?
WILLOW (O.S.)
Almost!
BUFFY
C'mon hurry up.
KENNEDY
Chill, we'll be there in time!
WILLOW walk down the stairs, with a bag.
WILLOW
Ok, ready.
BUFFY
Hold the fort for us Xand?
XANDER (O.S.)
Will do. Have fun.
BUFFY opens the front door.
CAMERA ON: The giant tiger-like demon, bare teethed standing just outside their door.
TEASER
1 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: A window, we follow the light that falls through it, until it reaches a chair. MELVIN is on it. His head is hanging down, he's snoring.
MELVIN (In his sleep)
Mommy.

ACT I
2 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY looking around. CAMERA turns to see where the light is coming from. There are two lights, they're obviously head lights.
XANDER (yelling)
Get out of the way.
The car starts to drive in their direction, quickly accelerating. KENNEDY gets out of the way. But the BEAST prepares a counter charge and starts rushing to it. They hit each other right on. The car's nose gets crushed and smoke is coming from the engine. The BEAST gets thrown across the street, about a fifty yards. KENNEDY starts to walk to the BEAST. Hands clammed around the Scythe firmly. The BEAST is covered with blood and a big wound on his side is showing. It appears not to be breathing. She steps toward it to check.
WILLOW (yelling)
Kennedy? Are you alright?
KENNEDY walks away from the BEAST and toward WILLOW, who's standing a few yards away from the car, in her direction.
KENNEDY
I'm alright, but I think he didn't make it though.
WILLOW
Good.
She turns to XANDER, who, being supported by BUFFY, has just joined them.
WILLOW
You alright?
XANDER
Yeah, I'm gonna be fine, just a few bruises.
He takes a look at the car.
But wait 'till my insurance company hears this.
BUFFY
Are you covered against abnormally large tiger-demons that ram your car?
XANDER
You know, I think I am, I have to look it up in the policy though! How about our big friend?
KENNEDY
I think he's dead alright.
She turns around to point him out.
He's right over th-...
CAMERA ON: The spot, where the BEAST lay a few moments ago, there's nothing there but a puddle of blood now.
3 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN tightening her grip around the bat.
LUX steps out of the shadow, her face covered with tears. DAWN drops the bat.
DAWN
Oh poor Lux.
DAWN hugs her.
DAWN
I'm sorry I wasn't on your side. What do you say, wanna go torture him now?
LUX
I don't want to see him like this, he'll think I'm weak.
DAWN
We'll just leave him alone tied to that chair all night, how does that sound?
LUX (smiling through her tears)
Much better!
DAWN releases LUX.
DAWN
I'm just gonna get our stuff from upstairs.
DAWN turns around and start ascending the stairs.
LUX
Slap him in the face for me.
DAWN turns around again.
DAWN
I wi-...
DAWN grabs LUX and throws them both to the ground as a DEMON comes from behind LUX and tries to smack her, he misses and hits the stairs instead.
DAWN
Run!
LUX runs through the house, closely followed by DAWN
4 INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX, out of breath.
LUX
What was that?
DAWN
Long story, now's not the time.
LUX
Indeed not.
LUX points at the door.
DAWN turns around to view the slit under the door, a shadow is moving. It moves away. DAWN sighs. Then it moves back again, With a big crack it smashes the door out. LUX shrieks. DAWN grabs her hand and they take a run for another door, while the DEMON smashes the table and throws a chair to LUX, who ducks just in time. They both make it into the next room.
5 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, BUFFY, WILLOW and XANDER walking on the street. BUFFY still supporting XANDER. We look at them from the side, from some dark bushes. Suddenly a shadow (of the BEAST) moves past the bushes.
WILLOW
We'll all head straight to your place. It will probably find us there, but we have the best arms there, we should be able to fight it off this time.
BUFFY
Don't look at me, I don't mind, it's not my deal. I'm more concerned about Xander.
XANDER
And Dawn.
WILLOW
Bad idea, until the curse is lifted, they're better off inside that house. Because when they try to leave it will be triggered.
BUFFY
But she's still unprotected.
KENNEDY
Hey, let's be logical for once, shall we? We've got to stick together, if we want to be able to stand the least of chance against this thing. If we go to the mansion, we'll lure the BEAST there and Dawn will be in even more danger. If we go to the hospital for Xander, we'll endanger everyone there. To me it seems, sticking together and getting as far away from others as possible is what we should do.
XANDER
She has a point.
BUFFY and WILLOW nod. Then the Scythe lights up again and sends out another flash, which knocks both Buffy and Kennedy over and with the lack of BUFFY's support also XANDER falls down. From out of nowhere the BEAST jumps into the picture and makes a sprint for the Scythe. WILLOW fires an energy ball, but again it bounces off and leaves a crater in the road. The BEAST grabs the Scythe and runs on. By this time KENNEDY has gotten up, while BUFFY is helping XANDER.
WILLOW (yelling)
What are you doing? Run!
KENNEDY starts running after the BEAST, which has stopped and is now standing still on the middle of the street. Suddenly KENNEDY rises up the sky going even faster, she turns around to see WILLOW with her white hair, mumbling something, her right index finger pointed at KENNEDY. KENNEDY looks at the BEAST and lays her arms next to her body like wings, she accelerates more. Then she lands right behind the BEAST. It turns its head to her, but doesn't attack. A portal begins to establish in front of it. It turns to it, and jumps through with the Scyther. KENNEDY then faints.
6 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The DEMON throwing himself at the door, it shakes a bit, but doesn't break. It tries twice more, but then gives up and goes away.
CAMERA MOVES through the door.
7 INT. MANSION KITCHEN - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX sceptically looking at the great old closet blocking the door.
LUX
You think it's gone?
DAWN
I'll try the other door.
LUX
So, let's block it!
DAWN
No. If it can't find a way to get to us, it'll wander the house and eventually go for Melvin. I know you don't him, but you can't hate him that much.
LUX
No, I guess not, but that doesn't mean I have to give up my own life for him.
DAWN
What are you talking about. We know where he's coming from, we can set a trap for it and kill it.
LUX
Kill that thing? Are you mad? Have you seen how strong it is?
DAWN
Strong, yes, but we've got brains and weapons.
DAWN points at the collection of kitchen equipment.
LUX
With that? We can't kill him with that! We need wooden stakes and holy water!
DAWN
Sorry, that only works on vampires.
LUX
Oh, like you know!
DAWN
As a matter of fact I do, my sister and her friends have been hunting them for over 7 years now.
LUX is startled and doesn't know what to say.
DAWN
Ok, here's the plan.
FADE OUT
8 EXT. STREET - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and XANDER bowed over KENNEDY. She slowly opens her eyes.
WILLOW
Oh poor baby, are you alright?
KENNEDY
I'm fine!
She stands up and faces the slowly shrinking portal.
But we've got to go in there to get the Scythe back.
WILLOW
Oh no, we don't, that's way to dangerous. We've lost this one.
BUFFY
We can now first save Dawn, and we can try to figure out what happened.
KENNEDY
No, we must go.
WILLOW
It's only a weapon, no need to get killed over, it's not the end of the world.
KENNEDY (mumbling)
I've lost my powers!
BUFFY
Come again?
KENNEDY
My slayer powers, they're gone, I can feel it.
BUFFY looks at WILLOW
BUFFY
Is she right Will? Can you feel it too?
WILLOW puts her hand to KENNEDY's chest, her hand begins to glow, but only weakly. She looks up to BUFFY, sad.
BUFFY
She's right, we have to get in there.
WILLOW
But Buffy, we don't know what's out there or how to get back!
XANDER
And what about Dawn?
BUFFY looks around nervously, in fear.
KENNEDY
Xan, you go to the mansion and keep the girls there. Will, me and Buffy are going in, your own call if you wanna come with, but if you ever want to see me again, you're probably our best way out.
XANDER looks at BUFFY.
BUFFY
I'm sorry Xander, I can't keep choosing for Dawn forever, this time I have to help myself first.
KENNEDY looks at WILLOW
WILLOW
Alright then.
KENNEDY, BUFFY and WILLOW step into the shrinking portal one by one. XANDER limps off.
9 INT. MANSION KITCHEN - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door, there's some noise, the DEMON is stumbling through the hall. There's a silence. Then the DEMON crashes through the door. DAWN comes out of nowhere and smacks it in the face with a steel pan. The DEMON screams and takes a step back and DAWN slides onto the isle. She sits there, with her legs crossed. Her head leaning on her hand, and her elbow on her knee.
DAWN (teasingly)
Ah poor demon, you got hurt?
The DEMON gives her an odd look.
DAWN
Come and get it, big boy!
It charges, but DAWN slides off the isle just in time, the DEMON crashes into it.
DAWN (yelling)
Now!
CAMERA ON: LUX hiding behind the isle. She gets up and with a kitchen knife she's holding, she cuts loose the rack above the isle. It falls on the DEMON.
LUX
Is it?
DAWN
Not a chance.
LUX
What next?
DAWN
You hide.
DAWN climbs onto the sink, while LUX walks to the corner and ducks. The DEMON awakes, it shakes off the wooden remainders of the rack. Then it stands up and sees DAWN on the sink. It charges again, but it's too slow, DAWN jumps over onto another part of the counter. She opens the cupboard and picks up a pile of plates, when the DEMON turns to her again, she starts throwing them at his face. He covers up with his hands and they get cut. DAWN turns to pick up another pile, but the DEMON grabs her legs. He begins to pull, but his hands are sliperry from the blood. DAWN holds onto the cupboard with one hand, with the other she grabs a plate. She throws it right between it's eyes. They start to bleed and with a loud roar the DEMON throws DAWN across the room, then he grabs for his bleeding eyes. DAWN crashes into another closet. LUX shuffles to her from her hiding place.
LUX
Dawn?
DAWN looks up.
DAWN
Get back.
LUX
But?
DAWN
Sits up straight.
DAWN (commanding)
Get back!
The DEMON hears her and turns around, he immediately shuts up. LUX quickly crawls back. The DEMON charges for DAWN, but she smirks. She pulls the drawer from the sink and throws it at him. He stops and falls flat on his back. DAWN climbs up, limping a bit, she looks at LUX, who crawls out of her hiding. The both of them walk over to the demon, they bow over to it. It's eyes are bleeding and the drawer is on its chest, bottom facing up.
LUX
Is it this time?
DAWN nods.
LUX
From a drawer?
DAWN picks up the drawer to reveal a large collection of knives and forks sticking into the DEMON's chest.
ACT II
10 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and KENNEDY right outside the portal.
KENNEDY
What is this place?
WILLOW
It's another dimension.
KENNEDY (amazed)
Just like that, no falling through colourful tunnels of light?
WILLOW
Disappointed much?
KENNEDY
Sort of.
BUFFY
C'mon let's go find the Scythe, then we can all go home.
WILLOW
Let's try this way.
WILLOW walks to a small path between two large rock cliffs.
KENNEDY
Looks dangerous.
BUFFY
Well over the years you'll find that the average demon has a fetish for dangerous.
BUFFY follows WILLOW. KENNEDY joins them. They start walking the path between the cliffs. Their sounds fade away as the CAMERA MOVES UP the cliff, where a large vulture is sitting. It flies up and start circling around above them.
FADE TO:
11 EXT. CLIFF PATH - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: The scoobies walking through the path, having to climb over the occasional rock that blocks their way.
KENNEDY
So it's like a whole different universe?
WILLOW
Yes, in different dimension's nothing is the same. Whereas in different realities somethings or people are the same, just some different things have happened along the chain of events.
KENNEDY
And portal's are like doors, instead to different rooms, they lead to different dimensions or realities. So what's this plane thing?
WILLOW
They're like sets of dimensions and realities that belong together. Like when the dimensions and realities are rooms, planes are the house.
KENNEDY
Right, and Dawn is like the incredible house-melting lady.
WILLOW
That is one way of putting it. She turns all the different rooms in our house into one big room…
They turn around a corner, there mouths fall open. The path has lead them to a big open area surrounded by cliffs. Across from the path is temple, built into the cliff.
12 INT. MANSION LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX sitting on the floor opposite to each other. There's a silence.
LUX
Alright, I'm ready now.
DAWN
Are you sure?
LUX
Definitely.
DAWN
Alright then. See, everything you believed in as a child, every shadow down the hall, every squeaky noise under the bed, everything you were of as a child, everything you were told was just a figment of your imagination. All those things are real, they exist right under our very nose.
CAMERA ON: LUX's uncertain face. CAMERA starts circling around them, FADING from one image to another, we see them talking, but we don't hear them anymore. Slowly we start to hear them again.
LUX
How come no one knows? How come I've never seen one? How come no one else I know has ever seen one?
DAWN
For most normal people running into a demon or a vampire means certain death, no telling the tale after. And those who do survive an encounter with the supernatural don't really tend to talk about it.
LUX
Why not?
DAWN
Don't ask me, ask Kara!
LUX
She had... oh god, I feel so guilty now.
DAWN
Don't worry about it. Anyway, that's why people don't talk. And the government isn't really helping either. They have very little knowledge on how the demon world works.
LUX (amazed)
They know too?
DAWN
Yeah, last time they tried to get more involved was when they picked up the ingenious plan to use demon body parts to assemble a super soldier Frankenstein-style. Went miserably wrong, as the super soldier picked up an ingenious plan of his own. Buffy had to go in and stop him. Then they decided to keep there hands off it, to keep this battle to us. Only things left are a few elite commando's, who hunt for demons.
LUX
It's amazing, I can't really quite believe it yet.
There's a loud bang. They look at each other.
DAWN
You'd better.
XANDER (O.S. calling out)
Dawn!... Lux!
DAWN sighs.
13 INT. TEMPLE ENTRY HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW walking through the large entry hall of the temple, it looks rather Egyptian. There are large columns in a square on the side, and the hall is about forty yards both long and broad. In the middle is a small water basin.
KENNEDY
Where are we?
BUFFY
That's what I'd like to know, what can you tell us Will?
WILLOW
By the looks of it, this is not a natural dimension.
KENNEDY gives her a look.
WILLOW
It's artificial, meaning some magical power created it for a special purpose.
BUFFY
The Scythe.
WILLOW
Most likely yeah, that beast seemed to own the Scythe or it at the least it was its keeper.
KENNEDY
And that would make this his home?
WILLOW
Yes, but not necessarily. I mean his home is here somewhere, but that doesn't mean, only his home is here. There could be more keeper off other things here as well.
KENNEDY
So this is like an arms dealers house?
BUFFY
No, this is it's home alright.
WILLOW
And how do you know?
BUFFY
The style of this building.
WILLOW
What about it?
BUFFY
Same as in the place I picked the Scythe up.
WILLOW
But that wasn't the same place, right?
BUFFY
No, much smaller, and it wasn't in another dimension, it was just a hidden place.
WILLOW
Perhaps the style has some protective or some empowering function.
KENNEDY
Right magical architecture.
WILLOW
As a matter of fact, it does exist, but that has to do with the actual construction. No, what I mean are the painting of the wall, the symbols, the patterns of the tiles. It can actually have a magical value.
KENNEDY
Right, so the red line across the walls works like a barbed wire.
WILLOW
Now, you're getting the hang of it.
BUFFY
Very nice and all, but the thing I'm interested in most is, where that beast is.
WILLOW closes her eyes, her hair turns white. A cut appears on her face, across her cheek, she takes a step back and falls. She opens her eyes again and her hairs turns back.
WILLOW
That's not going to work.
KENNEDY and BUFFY rush over, as WILLOW gets up.
KENNEDY
What happened?
WILLOW
It's some kind of anti-magic protection. I saw him, that beast. It attacked me...
She touches the cut with her finger, she looks at the blood on it.
and not without any result.
WILLOW gets up.
KENNEDY
How do find him now?
WILLOW
The old fashioned way, we look.
BUFFY
Can you do any magic whatsoever in this place?
WILLOW holds out her hand and makes an energy ball.
WILLOW
It appears so!
She twists her wrist and the ball disappears.
BUFFY
No, make it come back.
WILLOW twists her wrist and it pop up again.
BUFFY
Shoot it at one of the columns.
WILLOW throws it at one of the columns, the ball hits it, small pieces of rock fall off. WILLOW smirks
KENNEDY
What is she getting at?
14 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: XANDER, DAWN and LUX, sitting in silence, looking around bored.
Pause.
LUX
Isn't there a way WE can lift it?
DAWN looks at XANDER.
DAWN
It could be done.
XANDER
No way, too dangerous.
DAWN
And what if they don't return before Monday morning. They'll start tearing this place down and we'll still be in it.
XANDER
You know they won't.
LUX
But they'll call the police and they will remove us from the building.
XANDER
Okay, you know what, if they're not back Sunday evening we'll try it ourselves.
DAWN
Oh c'mon Xander, give us a break here, I mean, just go get the equipment, so we can study it. We don't have to perform the spell. Just so we know the plan B.
LUX sits up on her knees and makes a sad face.
LUX
Please!
XANDER
No.
DAWN
Not gonna work.
LUX
Pl-Please-ease-ease!?!?
XANDER
No...
LUX crawls closer and puts her elbows in his lap, supporting her face with her folded hands.
LUX
Please?
XANDER
I said no.
LUX smirks, she moves her elbows to the middle. XANDER's face changing to a painful one.
XANDER
Yes, yes, yes!
LUX crawls back and turns to DAWN, while XANDER grabs for his crotch.
LUX
See what a little persistence can do.
ACT III
15 INT. TEMPLE ENTRY HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW's face, her eyes are closed. She opens her eyes. ZOOM OUT to see BUFFY and KENNEDY standing on her sides, her hair is turning back from white.
BUFFY
Well?
WILLOW
That beast is protected from magic, but the Scythe indeed isn't.
BUFFY
Where do we go?
WILLOW walks toward the water basin. Her hairs turn white underway. She stops at it, BUFFY and KENNEDY again, stand by her side. WILLOW holds her hand up. Some of the water in the basin, moves up and floats in the air. It changes to a large irregular shape, we can recognize the front of the temple on the front of the water.
WILLOW
This is the entire complex.
The water changes to the shape of the entry hall, with the wall on the front side left out, so they can look into it.
WILLOW
This is where we are. Left-
The water changes shape to a large set of smaller and bigger rooms all on the left side.
-will take you into the treasure chambers, lots of gold, silver and jewellery, but nothing of any value.
The water changes back to the entry hall.
KENNEDY
Come again?
WILLOW
No magical value, they can be sold for lots of money, but you can't really use them for anything. Right ahead-
The water changes shape to a collection of hallways tunnels on different height levels, all eventually leading up to one giant hall.
-will lead you through a maze of little hallways, crammed with all sorts of trap, onto-
The water changes into the giant hall.
-the main treasure chamber. Magical weapons, books and equipment in every possible way.
BUFFY
Where they keep the Scythe.
WILLOW
Not quite, there's a lot of powerful things, but nothing near the strength of the Scythe.
The water changes back to the entry hall.
KENNEDY
Then there's left.
The water turns around so that the right wall is now left out, and they look right up to the door on the left.
WILLOW
A cave complex partly turned into prisoner slash cemetery.
The water door opens. From the basin water starts flowing through the air to the door. It forms a collection of caves and tunnels, all looking rather small. The water at the front starts falling down and the tunnels take its place, making it look, like someone is descending the tunnels, eventually it ends at a large cave. Again, there's a front of a temple built into the wall off the cave, this time it's a small temple, with merely one entrance. And only one level.
KENNEDY
Let me guess, it's in there.
WILLOW
Yes, that's what it tells me, I can't look inside it though.
All of the water falls down and WILLOW's hair turns back. She starts walking to the left door. BUFFY and KENNEDY follow her.
WILLOW
The signs on the wall, they protect this temple from the outside. Once you're in you can look all around it, providing you know the right magic. But from the outside you can't find it. But that last temple, it's a different building, it has it's own protection, and we're outside, so we can't look in. Now that beast is something different all together, it has some kind of complete protection from magic, or at least my kind of magic.
They reach the 20 feet steel doors.
KENNEDY
You think we could stop by one of those rooms on the right before we leave, cause I feel a shopping spree coming up
WILLOW gives her a look, then her hair turns white, and she pushes the sky, as if she were pushing the 20 feet steel doors. They open, we look into the tunnel, small bundles of light are coming from holes in the roof. They start descending. FADE several times TO pictures of them climbing through caves, walking through tunnels.
FADE TO:
16 INT. TEMPLE PRISON - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: KENNEDY, WILLOW and BUFFY walk into a cell bloc, on both side of the isle they walk on, are small cells. It's a dead end, at the end of the isle, is a torture chair.
KENNEDY
Are you sure, this is the right way? This doesn't look well to me.
WILLOW
I'm sure, this is where we were supposed to go.
KENNEDY
We're wrong here, it didn't really make sense anyway, why would you keep your most precious weapon unguarded, while the other weapons are safely kept behind traps.
WILLOW gives KENNEDY an angry look.
WILLOW
Think, what if someone who didn't know what the Scythe was, stumble upon this temple, he would go for the gold, or if he knows magic, he would go for the weapons. No way, they would go for the prison or cemetery. It's a distraction… so they only have to deal with people, who are actually looking for the Scythe.
KENNEDY
Sure, sure!
BUFFY
Guys, knock off the fighting and help me out here.
WILLOW and KENNEDY go to BUFFY, who's pushing the torture chair. It's to heavy for her. KENNEDY tries to help pushing, but has no strength. WILLOW's hair turns white, she telepathically moves the chair, a big gaping hole shows. BUFFY and KENNEDY look it in, it's dark.
BUFFY
After you, ladies.
WILLOW jumps in, then KENNEDY and finally BUFFY. We follow her as she falls down. It's dark, we can see the rocky sides of the tunnel. There's light at the end of the tunnel. We can see KENNEDY and WILLOW laying there somewhere on the ground.
17 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: BUFFY falling from a hole in the roof, she falls on WILLOW and KENNEDY.
KENNEDY
Ouch!
BUFFY gets up from above her.
BUFFY
Sorry!
She helps KENNEDY up. WILLOW gets up herself.
WILLOW
It seems this was the way indeed.
She looks around.
KENNEDY
Yeah, sorry for doubting you.
WILLOW
It's alright, now let's get going, there's something about this place that I don't like.
CAMERA MOVES away from them, BUFFY checks out a cave to the left. While KENNEDY checks out another hole in the roof. CAMERA MOVES further away. Around the corner of the cave is a column. CAMERA STOPS. A MUMMY moves into the frame, it peeks around the corner and sees KENNEDY and WILLOW. Then it moves back and sneaks off.
18 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: LUX and DAWN, sitting across the room from XANDER.
DAWN
It's only a little magic, it won't do any harm.
LUX
Do you really wanna sleep here tonight?
DAWN
Wouldn't you rather just go home?
XANDER
Sorry ladies, no is my final answer.
DAWN and LUX look at each other, they nod smirking.
CUT TO:
19 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: XANDER's face, it's looking very painful. ZOOM OUT to see both LUX and DAWN with their elbows in XANDER's lap.
XANDER
Alright, alright… please have mercy!
They let go. DAWN moves over to XANDER's bag, she opens it and starts unpacking the magical equipment.
DAWN
Alright, now magical spells are really not that big of a deal. Requires concentrations and will. Magical powers are not always a prerequisite… They do come in handy though, but we'll survive without them.
LUX listens to her carefully. DAWN hands her over some candles.
DAWN
Make a triangle with them. Try to use an equal number of candles on each site.
DAWN takes a look at the spell book.
DAWN
Xander, which off these powders looks greenest to you?
DAWN holds up to battles with a red and a blue powder. XANDER gives her a look.
DAWN
That's what I though, the blue one will do.
XANDER
Hey!
DAWN
Just messing with you, we need the blue one.
DAWN moves over to the candle triangle, she sprinkles the blue powder over each candle. As she does, they light up. LUX looks at it, amazed. DAWN picks up the spell book and lays it in the middle of the circle.
DAWN
Everyone take a side of the triangle.
They do so, as does DAWN, she faces the book, so she can read from it.
DAWN
You two chant this verse, and don't stop; 'May those who wander; come to rest.' Keep doing it and don't stop for any reason.
DAWN looks at them.
DAWN
Well?
XANDER and LUX starts chanting.
DAWN
He, who wonders, let the night fall. May your wishes have come true, may your needs have been fulfilled, may what life neglected you have been given you in death. Sleep sleeper. Die dead. Sleep sleeper. Die dead.
DAWN sprinkles the blue powder on her hand.
He, who wonders, let the night fall.
She blows the powder off her hand. DAWN starts chanting with XANDER and LUX. In the middle of the triangle the blue powder twirls around like a tornado. Faster and faster it spins. Eventually it forms a shape. It's NORRINGTON's GHOST, his legs have been replaced by a tail of blue cloud. And he himself is transparent blue as well. He flies right at DAWN.
ACT IV
20 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: WILLOW, BUFFY and KENNEDY walking through the cave. BUFFY suddenly stops. The others look at her surprised.
WILLOW
What is it?
BUFFY
Shhh!
There's a pause.
BUFFY
There's something out here.
WILLOW
Like what?
BUFFY
I don't know, all this time, I've had a feeling we were being followed and now I'm sure, I just heard something from back there.
WILLOW and KENNEDY look into the empty tunnel.
BUFFY
I know, there's nothing to see, but I swear something is out there.
WILLOW
Should we fight it?
BUFFY
No, I think we should just walk on, keep moving.
BUFFY winks at them. She picks up a rock. So does KENNEDY, they move around the corner. While there CAMERA stays looking into the tunnel, from behind a rock, a MUMMY comes up. It walks forward. CAMERA MOVES back, to see BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW waiting around the corner. When the MUMMY reaches the corner, they move out of hiding, KENNEDY and BUFFY throws their rocks at him. His right arms and his chest get scattered, he takes a step back, but then regains balance and walks to them again. WILLOW's hairs turns white and she makes and throws a fireball at him. The MUMMY screams and on fire he runs at them, they avoid him and finally he falls down and burns to ashes.
WILLOW
Nice try, but one simple mummy isn't going to stop us.
KENNEDY
How 'bout a hundred, would that do it for you?
WILLOW looks up at KENNEDY, who's looking into the tunnel. BUFFY and WILLOW move over.
CAMERA ON: The tunnel it's filled with MUMMIES, they're all walking to the scoobies.
BUFFY
Run!
The scoobies run away, the MUMMIES begin to run as well.
CAMERA ON: The Scoobies running through a tunnel, they want to run ahead, they come at an intersection, but the tunnel in front of them is full of MUMMIES as well. WILLOW sends out a fire blaze. The MUMMIES all incinerate, but from tunnels on the side new ones come. The scoobies then decide to take the other tunnel. They continue running, followed by the MUMMIES. They stumble onto a small hall, two tunnels on the side, one on the right, one on the left. They go for the left one first, but MUMMIES are approaching from that tunnel, they turn to the left, but also from that tunnel they come. They turn around to the tunnel they came from. The MUMMIES have stopped running and are now slowly approaching them. KENNEDY and BUFFY pick up stones. And WILLOW's hair turns white as she conjures up two fireballs, one in each hand. The MUMMIES reach the hall and surround them. The scoobies are pressed against the wall and are now surrounded by about a hundred MUMMIES, while more are waiting in the tunnels.
21 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: NORRINGTON's GHOST flying at DAWN.
DAWN (screaming)
May those who wander; come to rest! May those who wander; come to rest!
NORRINGTON's GHOST gets flies into a blue shield, protecting DAWN. He gets repelled.
XANDER
No, Dawn!
NORRINGTON's GHOST makes a turn and now flies at XANDER, who is not chanting anymore. On the last moment DAWN jumps in front of him chanting. NORRINGTON's GHOST bounces into the shield again.
DAWN
Chant!
DAWN and XANDER now both continue chanting. The ghost continues flying around them in circles. Then all of a sudden, he flies up through the roof (he's an incorporeal ghost). DAWN stops chanting. XANDER and LUX follow her example.
LUX
Was that all?
DAWN ignores her and turns to XANDER.
DAWN (angry)
Didn't I tell you not to stop chanting?
XANDER
I'm sorry, I thought something went wrong.
DAWN (angry)
Nothing went wrong. He's incorporeal and tried to fix that by taking over my body, but the chanting repelled him.
XANDER
Again sorry, and thanks for saving me.
DAWN (grumpy)
Well… you're welcome!
LUX
Again, is he gone now?
DAWN
I think so, I believe he was supposed to incinerate, but I think this'll do.
XANDER gives her a look.
XANDER
Better make that sure, 'cause if you try to leave, while the curse isn't lifted… well you know the consequences of it yourself.
DAWN
I'll look it up.
DAWN moves over to the spell book and starts reading. CAMERA MOVES up through the roof, NORRINGTON's GHOST went through.
22 INT. MANSION - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: MELVIN tied to his chair. He seems to still be asleep. Then he opens his eyes. They glow blue. He smirks.
23 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY, KENNEDY and WILLOW, surrounded by the MUMMIES, they are ready to strike.
BUFFY
Alright, on my sign we strike. We don't stop, just continue striking, 'till I dunno. You can stop when you're dead.
KENNEDY
Always the optimist!
BUFFY
Right…
The MUMMIES slowly start to close in, very slowly. Then we hear a sound, of a boulder being moved, the MUMMIES look up to something behind the Scoobies.
BUFFY (yelling)
NOW!
BUFFY throws her stone at the closest by MUMMY, it's head gets scattered, but the body remains attacking. All the MUMMIES now charge. KENNEDY throws her rock at one of the MUMMIES knees, it crashes and the MUMMY limps and falls. The other MUMMIES walk over it. WILLOW slingers her fireballs into the crowd. A few MUMMIES get set on fire and the others carefully avoid it. WILLOW conjures up more fireballs and throws them at another group. KENNEDY and BUFFY continue grabbing rocks and throwing them at them. BUFFY turns around to grab another rock. There's a hole in the wall behind them. A woman is hanging out of the hole and sticks out her hand at BUFFY. BUFFY looks up at her.
WOMAN
Grab my hand.
BUFFY looks at it, suspiciously.
WOMAN
You're not gonna make it against them.
BUFFY taps WILLOW and KENNEDY on the shoulder. WILLOW send a fire blaze into the crowd, keeping them at some more distance, until the front row, has turned into mouldering ashes. BUFFY grabs the WOMAN's hand and she helps her into the hole, then she grabs KENNEDY and helps her in. The MUMMIES again close in, as WILLOW prepares for a final blow. A circle of fire surrounds her on the ground. WILLOW has her hands together and her arms stretched out to the front. The flames reach higher and higher, until WILLOW is a mere shade surrounded by the flames. Then she quickly moves her hands from each other, until her hands are facing her sides. The circle of fire quickly expands in every possible way, it moves thought the tunnel and lays all the MUMMIES on fire. WILLOW grabs the womans and she helps her in, as the MUMMIES on fire walk around in chaos.
24 INT. TEMPLE TUNNEL - NIGHT (cont'd)
CAMERA ON: The WOMAN pushes a large boulder in front of the hole. All the lights disappear in the tunnels, she lights up a torch.
WOMAN
Quickly, follow me.
KENNEDY
Not so fast, we're very thankful that you saved us, but who are you, and how do we know we can trust you?
WOMAN
You can't, but I can bring you to someone who can tell you. But we must move quickly.
She starts walking through the dark tunnels. The others follow her.
The mummies are probably everywhere by now. It will be hard to reach the Scythe now.
BUFFY
You know about the Scythe?
WOMAN
What else do you think someone would do down here? If I didn't I would've gone to the treasure chambers, wouldn't I?
She takes a tunnel to the left.
BUFFY
I suppose.
They reach a bigger cave, there's an older woman in the room (MARGARETH), she turns to them.
MARGARETH
Finally, you have arrived. Now we can get out of this stinking hole.
BUFFY
Before we do... an explanation would be nice.
MARGARETH
I, Margareth , like you now, did enter this temple, four years ago with a group of three others, searching for the Scythe. We got it, but unfortunately, only one of us got away. I assume you've met her, since you did have the Scythe in your possession until recently, is it not true?
BUFFY
Yes, I did. But who have I met?
MARGARETH
The woman, who gave you the weapon. Long white hair, very old, presumably she was hidden in a temple with markings just like this one.
BUFFY
Yeah, the guardian, right?
MARGARETH
Correct. She is a guardian, and so am I and so is Ingrid.
She points at the other woman.
BUFFY
I'm sorry to inform, but your friend did not make it.
MARGARETH looks down.
MARGARETH
Unfortunate, but understandable.
KENNEDY
Hey break up here, what are guardians supposed to be?
INGRID
Dead slayers.
KENNEDY gives WILLOW a confused look. But she hunches.
MARGARETH
More or less, that is. We were once slayers that in death have come to terms with our fate, we have accepted what we are, and even past death, when we have lost our powers, we come back to assists slayers in their quests.
KENNEDY
Isn't that like the job of a watcher, excuse me if I'm wrong, it's from what I've been told; I don't have one.
MARGARETH
You're a slayer? And you have no watcher?… Odd, but that should not be a problem, the council has never really cared for their slayers anyway. Consider yourself lucky.
BUFFY
That is NOT true!
MARGARETH
I know, mister Giles; well with the possible exceptions of some of the actual watchers, the council itself and the rest of the watchers, I can tell you, do not care. They care about the cause. Not the way… Or perhaps, I need to remind of you the head of the council, mister Travers.
BUFFY
Dead.
MARGARETH
I'm sorry for him.
BUFFY
Along with most of the Council. Their main quarters go blown up.
MARGARETH
Less fortunate indeed. It's not like we hate those people, well most of them not, but their ways we disapprove of.
KENNEDY
Ladies, very interesting conversation, but can I break it up again. We have a weapon to retrieve, we can chat up, when we get back home.
MARGARETH
Home, very well. You are the Wicca, right?… what is the name again Ingrid?
INGRID
Willow.
WILLOW
Right.
MARGARETH
Then you'll have to force us a portal to get out, but that's for later, for now is following me.
MARGARETH walks off through another tunnel, the others follow.
25 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN browsing through the spell book. LUX and XANDER sitting by her.
DAWN
I don't get it, it is supposed to incinerate. There's no clue on what to do if it fails.
LUX
Perhaps we have to try again.
XANDER
What about this piece.
XANDER points out some notes at the bottom of the page.
DAWN
It's what to do if it takes over someone's body… This is just impossible, it should've incinerated. There's no explanation here to what may have caused it.
The door slams open. It's MELVIN.
MELVIN
I think I can explain.
26 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY climbing down a rock wall. She reaches the ground, KENNEDY, WILLOW, BUFFY, MARGARETH and INGRID are already there. CAMERA TURNS around, so we see the whole hall. The first half of the cave is empty, there's only a hole in the wall, from which they came and a big wooden door. Then there's a lava river and then there's some empty space and then the second temple build into the wall. They walk on over to the bridge over the lava.
BUFFY
Is it in there?
WILLOW
Yes, definitely.
BUFFY
What's the inside like?
MARGARETH
One big hall. The Scythe is kept on a big square rock, across from the door.
BUFFY
And that tiger?
MARGARETH
He protects it. He wanders around in that temple or in front of it. He never crosses the lava river, unless the Scythe is taken from it's place.
BUFFY
How did you beat him?
There's a pause.
MARGARETH
We didn't. One of the team members fought him off long enough for us to get away. It was a suicide mission. She had poisoned herself, biting her should've killed that beast. But it didn't, it just slowed him down enough for one of us to get out of here and get into a safe hidden temple. The beast can't be killed by anything else then the Scythe.
WILLOW
Tell us about it.
They reach the temple.
BUFFY
Alright, I have an idea and it doesn't include suicide. Willow, white hairs please.
WILLOW's hair turns white.
WILLOW
At your service.
BUFFY
Ingrid, how's your condition, can you run?
INGRID
Sure.
BUFFY
Ken, you're gonna fight.
KENNEDY
Fight, yes that's me.
BUFFY
Alright, this is the plan.
25 INT. MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: MELVIN in the door opening, smirking. XANDER is closest by, he punches him in the face and knocks him right out. DAWN immediately stands up and picks up a chair, which she swings at him. He steps out of the way and grabs LUX by the neck and drags her up.
MELVIN
Didn't I warn you children enough, to stay of my property? But no, you keep coming, you just keep on coming.
They circle around each other.
DAWN
Why don't you let her go, you've had your revenge.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN's face.
MELVIN
Revenge, you think this is about revenge?
He laughs at her.
Little child, do you really think revenge is what I want. If that was all, killing your friend here-
He looks at LUX, she looks at DAWN, scared.
Would be enough. But I'm not here just for revenge. I'm here to teach you all a lesson. A lesson about morals. What is right and wrong. How far you can go… Right and of all people, it seems you need one. Tying up people. Endangering friends with magic. Not to even begin about break and entering.
CAMERA ON: DAWN looks at him, angry.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN
MELVIN
But oh, that's right, your parents never even told you morals did they? 'Cause you don't have parents, you're a made-up something; yes, I can tell. You're not even real!
CAMERA ON: DAWN. Something breaks inside of her, she doesn't look angry anymore, just empty.
CAMERA ON: MELVIN, he smirks.
ZOOM OUT: Too also see LUX's face, her fear has been replaced by anger. She gives MELVIN an elbow in his crotch. He lets go of her. She turns around and punches him full on in the face. He falls down. She grabs for her hurtful hand and walks to DAWN.
LUX
Dawnie, are you alright? Don't listen to him. The only thing not real is he.
DAWN says nothing, just stares back at her.
LUX
Dawn? Can you hear me?
DAWN now looks angry, she pushes LUX to the side. We see MELVIN standing right behind her. He's looking angry as well. She tries to punch him with her right, but he blocks, he tries left, but she grabs his wrist. Then she kicks him in the stomach. He falls back but immediately stands up and jumps at her. He throws her on her back and starts strangling her. DAWN tries to get his hands off.
MELVIN
Why don't you give up. You're just a kid. Nothing more then an ignorant spoiled brat…
LUX swings the chair at him and he gets blown of off DAWN. LUX reaches out her hand and helps DAWN up. LUX and DAWN both strike a fighting pose as MELVIN crawls back on his feet. LUX and DAWN each take a side of him, DAWN his left, LUX his right. LUX throws a punch at him. He takes a step back to avoid it. DAWN then kicks his back, she hits him. He takes a step forward to keep in balance. DAWN grabs his wrist and smacks him into a wall. He falls down on his knees. XANDER, who has regained his consciousness, step to him.
He has a lot of blue powder in his hand, he close's MELVIN's nose, who gasps for air and at that moment, XANDER stuffs the blue powder in his mouth.
XANDER
May those who wander; come to rest!
He takes a step back as MELVIN starts to glow blue light. NORRINGTON's GHOST leaves MELVIN's body. He flies around the room in circles. As the whole house starts to glow as well.
NORRINGTON's GHOST (pissed off)
Very well! You win! I'll leave… but mark my words, no one will ever enter this house again.
He starts to laugh maniacally as the house starts to glow heavier and starts to tremble.
XANDER
It's going to collapse, we have to go.
DAWN grabs the bag with magical equipment and XANDER picks up MELVIN.
26 EXT. NORRINGTON MANSION - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The house is trembling and blue light is coming from all the windows. XANDER busts out the front door. He's carrying MELVIN over his shoulder. DAWN and LUX run out after him. When they reach the street, the turn around and watch the house. It trembles heavily, the blue light intensifies, there's a flash and a beam of blue light reaches out of a hole in the roof. NORRINGTON's GHOST is flying through the beam, up to the sky. Then there's another flash and finally the house collapses and the beam fades. The four of them get surrounded by big cloud of dust, we can only see their shades. They don't move.
27 INT. SCYTHE TEMPLE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The entrance BUFFY, KENNEDY, WILLOW, MARGARETH and INGRID walk in.
CAMERA TURNS AROUND: to a large square rock on top of it, is the Scythe. From behind the rock the BEAST walks up. It growls.
CAMERA ON: The temple, from the top of the entrance wall. BUFFY walks to the left, INGRID to the left. KENNEDY to the middle. WILLOW stands behind her and MARGARETH is at the door. BUFFY starts walking slowly.
BUFFY
Hey, beastie-boy, remember us. The ones from the car? Come on, don't tell me you forgot us?
The BEAST starts walking up to her, bare teethed. Meanwhile, KENNEDY takes a few steps to the front. The BEAST now prepares to charge for BUFFY. INGRID starts walking up from the right.
INGRID
Excuse me, I'm here too you know, don't give her all your attention.
The BEAST turns around and slowly walks toward INGRID. Then BUFFY takes a few more steps. The BEAST quickly walks toward her again. Then INGRID takes a sprint. The BEAST runs at her. When he passes KENNEDY. BUFFY begins to walk too. The BEAST makes a turn, and when he is near BUFFY again. She stops and KENNEDY starts sprinting. The BEAST runs for her, he takes a jump to take her down, when KENNEDY gets lift up from the ground and flies straight at the Scythe, off course, it's WILLOW levitating her. KENNEDY lands behind the rock and picks up the Scythe. She smirks as BUFFY and INGRID walk back and the BEAST turns to her only. KENNEDY jumps on top of the rock. The BEAST runs at her. He takes a jump at her and at that moment KENNEDY merely slides off the square, he crashes into the wall of the temple. KENNEDY walks to the middle of the room. The BEAST stands up again and walks to the middle of the room as well. The circle around each other. Then the BEAST charges, KENNEDY swings the Scythe at the paw he was striking with, it bleeds heavily and he can't stand on it. He charges again, but KENNEDY jumps aside and hits him his side. He starts bleeding more. He can barely stand. Then in a final attempt he jumps right at her. She makes a full swing and hits him in the face. He falls down, not even dead. The other walk up to him.
KENNEDY
Is it?
WILLOW
No, it's still breathing.
CAMERA ON: The BEAST, it is indeed still breathing. It has its eyes on BUFFY.
CAMERA ON: The scoobies standing around the BEAST. We look at them from the BEAST's point of view.
BUFFY
Give me the Scythe.
KENNEDY
Hey, can't I even hold it for five minutes?
BUFFY
Give it to me.
KENNEDY hands over the Scythe. BUFFY swings and hits the BEAST. The others make a horrid face.
CAMERA ON: The BEAST slowly closes his eyes.
CAMERA ON: The dead BEAST and the scoobies.
BUFFY
It was dying, I had to.
BUFFY walks off, the others follow her.
28 INT. TEMPLE CAVE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: BUFFY and the others walking out of the temple. We look at them from behind. The part of the cave on the other side of the lava river is filled with thousands of MUMMIES.
BUFFY
I didn't order those.
Then there's a loud bang. Some of the MUMMIES fall down. The others look around, as do the scoobies to see what it is. Another one. A few rocks falls down from the roof. The temple begins to tremble.
BUFFY looks at WILLOW, questioning.
The trembling gets harder, and the lave begins to boil.
MARGARETH
It's the temple, it's collapsing.
A few MUMMIES fall in the lava. The other slowly back off.
BUFFY hands over the Scythe to KENNEDY.
BUFFY
Let's go.
WILLOW's hairs turn white, and she conjures up fireballs. They start to run. Over the bridge into the MUMMY army. WILLOW continuously throws fireballs into the crowd, as KENNEDY smashes four at a time, the others try as good as they can to fight them off with stones.
CUT TO:
29 INT. TEMPLE MAIN HALL - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The door on the left, it's open and the tunnel is filled with MUMMIES, we can see fire working it's way to the door. As it nears the door, we ZOOM IN. We can see WILLOW and the others fight their way out. As they all reach the door and walk out, the MUMMIES back off. The scoobies make a run for the front door. We can see one of the giant columns collapse behind them.
30 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The scoobies running out of the temple entrance. CAMERA TURNS AROUND to see the cliffs, are trembling as well. They are slowly moving to each other and that way closing the path. The scoobies make a run for it.
31 EXT. ROCKY AREA - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: The other end of the path between the cliffs. The cliffs are now only two feet from each other. The scoobies come running out between them. The portal is still there, but very small a mere one and a half feet radius. BUFFY jumps through, then KENNEDY, then WILLOW, then MARGARETH and finally INGRID.
32 INT. SUMMER'S RESIDENCE - NIGHT
CAMERA ON: DAWN and LUX taking care of XANDER, MELVIN unconscious on the other couch. BUFFY, WILLOW, KENNEDY, INGRID and MARGARETH walk in. DAWN, LUX and XANDER look up at them.
BUFFY
How did you-
XANDER
Don't ask.
DAWN
Sorry, my bad, we got a little impatient and did the spell ourselves.
BUFFY
Come again? And who is he?
She points at MELVIN.
LUX
Our hostage.
CAMERA ON: BUFFY's face, she's totally clueless.
BLACK OUT
