40 EXT. COURTYARD - MORNING
50 girls sit on the ground anxiously awaiting for their orders for the day. CARIDAD, one of the Slayers from season 7, is closer to a platform. She has been at the training school longer than the rest, and she looks at the door, waiting for her friends to come out.
ENGLAND, The New Watchers Council
The door slowly opens and familiar faces walk out. CARIDAD smiles. GILES, ANDREW and KENNEDY walk out and stand in front of the girls. ANDREW sets up a writing board and takes out markers to write with. KENNEDY stands to the side, arms crossed across her chest. GILES steps forward.
GILES
Good morning, I hope everyone is doing well today? (He smiles as the girls nod politely.) No news today, or at least nothing or interest. By now most of you, if not all of you, have noticed the absence of Faith at our school. (A girl raises her hand and Giles nods to her.) Yes?
CHASTITY
Where has Faith been?
GILES
It seems that Buffy Summers has required her assistance in Hadenfield, California.
CHASTITY
Is it a big evil? Does she need other reinforcements?
GILES
No, not at all. A Slayer named Stephanie killed her Uncle.
CHASTITY
Is she evil?
CARIDAD
God, will you please shut up and let him talk.
GILES
Her Uncle tried to murder her and her best friend. While they were fighting, he pulled a knife and Stephanie did what she had to. She killed him. This is a similar case which Faith experienced. She killed an innocent man during battle, an accident, of course. Buffy called and asked if Faith could stop by and try to council Stephanie on how she may be feeling.
CHASTITY
So that's it? When are we going to start training? I'm getting bored sitting here all the time learning about Vampire history and Slayer history and proper breathing techniques and how to--
CARIDAD
Can you please stop complaining all the time? You sound like Rona...
KENNEDY (from the platform)
Hey! There will be no insulting of the other Slayers unless it's done by me.
CHASTITY
And what makes you so special?
KENNEDY
I fought along side Buffy Summers in the war against The First Evil and I knew of my destiny since I was an 8-year-old. I was learning and training since before you could even walk. That is what makes me so special.
CHASTITY
I want to train. I don't want to sit around. I want to get in this.
KENNEDY
That was exactly the same attitude that I had.
GILES
Fine, Chastity, if you want to train, come up here.
CHASTITY stood up and walked through the rows of girls on the ground. She hopped onto the platform and stood next to GILES, ANDREW and KENNEDY.
GILES
Andrew, if you'd be so kind as to--
ANDREW
--Yes, sir.
ANDREW pulled a flute and a magic wand out of his pockets. He slowly played the flute as he swung the magic wand in the air. Smoke appeared on the platform and spread out across the courtyard. When it faded, a DEMON was standing next to them. It had green scales and talon like claws.
GILES
You want to get in this? Here you go. Training begins now.
The DEMON tackled CHASTITY to the ground. She managed to get out of its grasp and scrambled to her feet. The DEMON did the same, and seconds later the two fighters were colliding, throwing fists and feet everywhere.
30 EXT. HADENFIELD GRAVEYARD - NIGHT
The VAMPIRE ran through the graveyard as quick as he could. He jumped over a large mausoleum and landed on the other side. He kept running, but stopped when he ran into a fenced-in area. He stopped and ran into the mausoleum, hoping they wouldn't find him in there. Slowly, the door opened and BUFFY walked in, followed by DAWN and MIKE.
BUFFY
Your training begins now.
MIKE
What?
BUFFY slowly backed up and exited the mausoleum. She stood outside and braced her hands against the door, making sure MIKE and DAWN couldn't get out.
MIKE
Is she crazy?
DAWN
I'm beginning to think so.
The VAMPIRE growled at them. DAWN and MIKE both backed up, almost walking into the wall. MIKE pulled a stake out of the front pouch of his hoody and raised it in the air. Meanwhile, BUFFY was standing outside the mausoleum, feeling bored, when ALEX walked up to her.
BUFFY
Alex? What are you doing here?
ALEX
Looking for you actually.
BUFFY
How'd you know I'd be here?
ALEX
You're the Slayer. Isn't this your job?
BUFFY
A Slayer. I'm A Slayer. And, yes, I guess you're right.
ALEX
I have to ask you something. I've been thinking about the time we spent together in the hospital when the vampires attacked me. I wanted to know if you wanted to--
The mausoleum door burst open as MIKE and DAWN'S bodies were thrown into it. They both rolled out onto the ground and looked up at BUFFY, glaring.
BUFFY
Hold that thought.
BUFFY sprung into action and kicked the VAMPIRE in the face as he reached for MIKE. He stumbled backwards and BUFFY sweep kicked him as he was off balance. He fell on the ground and BUFFY whipped out her stake and brought it down into the VAMPIRE'S heart. He screamed and exploded into dust. BUFFY looked up at ALEX as she helped MIKE and DAWN to their feet.
BUFFY
Now, what were you saying?
ALEX (looking at Dawn and Mike)
Nothing. I'll just talk to you later.
ALEX turned on his heeled and began to walk out of the graveyard. BUFFY raised an eyebrow, confused, and then turned back to DAWN and MIKE.
BUFFY
I better get you guys home. Dawn and I have to be at the doctors tomorrow.
MIKE
Is someone sick?
BUFFY
No, everyone's fine. Xander is getting a glass eye put in so that he doesn't have to wear that eye patch all the time. The doctors just want to make sure his eye is fully healed and the glass eye won't disturb anything.
DAWN
You're welcome to come by if you want.
MIKE
Oh thanks. Yeah, I'll try to make. I have a track meeting tomorrow, but I might be able to swing by and see you guys.
BUFFY, MIKE and DAWN walked out of the graveyard. BUFFY turned around, sensing something, but passed it off as ALEX walking away. However, as the group walked out of sight, SHEILA walked out from behind a tomb.
SHEILA
Xander got his eye taken out? Interesting...

ACT ONE
26 INT MIKE'S BEDROOM - MORNING
MIKE is sleeping soundly in his bed. He makes a few sleeping noises and turns on his side. The phone starts to ring, but does not disturb his sleep. The phone rings until his answering machine picks up. The automatic message goes off and someone leaves a message. There's silence for a few seconds, then, music blares on the machine.
LYRICS: Sunday morning rain is falling, Steal some covers share some skin.
MIKE woke up to the loud sound of Maroon 5 blasting from the speaker playing on the answering machine.
LYRICS: Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable, You twist to fit the mold that I am in.
MIKE reached an arm out form under his pillow and picked up the phone. He sighed and spoke into it.
MIKE
You know what I find ironic?
NICK (on the other end)
What?
MIKE
You're playing a song about Sunday mornings and that it's raining outside.
NICK (on the other end)
How is that ironic?
MIKE
It is Sunday morning and it is raining outside.
NICK (on the other end)
You're the one who told me to call and wake you up because your alarm clock isn't working.
MIKE
What did you have to wake me up for anyway?
NICK
Um...You have the track meeting in an hour and then you have to go to the hospital to see your friends.
MIKE
Oh, yeah, thanks. Ok, um, I'll meet you there. Bye.
MIKE hung up the phone and slowly climbed out of bed. He walked out of his bedroom and into the bathroom. He turned on the water and stepped into the shower.
29 EXT. HADENFIELD WOODS - MORNING
FAITH and STEPHANIE are walking along a man-made trail in the woods. They walk until they see a river and walk onto a small peer. They both sit down and let their feet sway above the water.
FAITH
Buffy wanted me to come out here and talk to you.
STEPHANIE
About what?
FAITH
She told me you killed your Uncle.
STEPHANIE
What about it?
FAITH
I know it can be pretty hard. One night Buffy and I were fighting a clan of vampires and this innocent guy jumped out in front of me. I didn't know he was innocent until it was too late and I had killed him. I know how it feels to kill someone accidentally.
STEPHANIE
I didn't kill him accidentally. He was going to kill Mike and me. I wasn't about to let him do that. So I killed him.
FAITH
So what's the problem?
STEPHANIE
Aside from the fact that I have to live with Mike, nothing.
FAITH
So do you want to head back? I heard Xander was getting something done with his eye today.
STEPHANIE
Yeah. We better head back. Thanks for trying to talk to me, but I'm fine.
STEPHANIE and FAITH stood up and walked down the trail that lead them to the peer. They reached FAITH'S car and drove off.
30 INT. HADENFIELD AUDITORIUM - MORNING
Parents and athletes are sitting in metal chairs lined in rows all around the auditorium. The track team coach, MR. JONES is making a speech in front of the crowd. MIKE sits in one of the chairs on the stage.
MR. JONES
So, today I would like to present Michael Gellar with a medal of excellence.
The crowd started to clap wildly and MIKE guessed that was his cue to go accept the medal. He stood up and walked to MR. JONES, who handed him the medal. MR. JONES stepped to the side and MIKE knew he had to make a speech.
MIKE
Yeah. Well. You see. I kinda have to get going and don't have time to make a speech. I have to go visit a friend at the doctors. So, uh, thanks and see you tomorrow?
MIKE stepped off stage and was greeted by VI and DAWN. They walked out of the room and hopped into MIKES’ car.
26 INT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL LOBBY - NOON
MIKE, VI and DAWN entered the lobby and spotted BUFFY talking to the secretary. They walked up to her, almost scaring her.
DAWN
Hey!
BUFFY
Hi. You're here early.
MIKE
I didn't make my speech. We just came right here.
BUFFY
Oh.
DAWN
Everything ok? You seem a little weird.
BUFFY
Yeah, it's just...Willow.
VI
Is something wrong with Willow?
BUFFY
No. She has this idea in her head that when Xander gets his glass eye put in, she can enchant the eye so it sees for him.
MIKE
And that's a bad thing?
BUFFY
You don't know Willow very well. Her spells have a way of going wrong...a lot.
MIKE
Well, maybe she won't screw up this time. Maybe since it involves her best friend, she'll take extra caution and extra care in doing the spell.
BUFFY
Maybe.
DAWN
So, why are you out here?
BUFFY
The doctor asked that all non-family members stay outside.
DAWN
What ever happened to the family pact we made?
VI
What family pact?
DAWN
It's something that Buffy made! We all agreed that if anything happened to one of us, we could all lie to the hospital people and say we're family.
BUFFY
Well, it's not like he's dying or something. They just took some x-rays of his skull and all that stuff. He could deal without me.
FAITH and STEPHANIE entered the hospital. They immediately spotted everyone and walked up to them.
FAITH
Hey, B. What are we all doing out here?
DAWN
I don't know. Buffy's going back on a pact she made a while ago.
FAITH
Sounds interesting. Uh. Buffy, can I talk to you outside?
BUFFY
Why?
STEPHANIE
So she can tell you how our hike went.
FAITH
Whoa. Calm down, kid. I'm just gonna talk to Buffy in private, that doesn't mean I'm going to be talking about you.
BUFFY
Oh...why can't you say it in front of the others?
FAITH
Because I don't want to?
BUFFY (sighing)
Fine...
BUFFY and FAITH walked out of the lobby. VI, MIKE, DAWN and STEPHANIE sat in uncomfortable chairs in the lobby. MIKE toyed with the medal he won.
26 INT. XANDER'S HOSPITAL ROOM - AFTERNOON
The DOCTOR stood in front of XANDER. He was slowly fitting XANDER'S glass eye into his eye socket. The DOCTOR finished and he stepped back.
DOCTOR
Now, Mr. Harris, blink, look left, and all other directions. I want to make sure the eye will move with you.
XANDER nodded and did so. Everything seemed fine. He looked a little taken aback by the whole thing. He was somewhat happy though. He didn't have to wear that ugly eye patch anymore.
DOCTOR
Everything seems fine. I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some paper work.
XANDER
Ok, thanks.
WILLOW
Oh wow. It's so weird to see you without your eye patch. You look so much cuter.
XANDER
How much cuter?
WILLOW
A lot cuter. That thing was getting old and fuzzy. It looked like a rat died on your face.
XANDER
Good thing I got rid of it. I heard Vanny doesn't like rats.
WILLOW
...Are you ready?
XANDER
Ready for what?
WILLOW
Are you ready for me to enchant your eye so it sees for you and you will have your full eye sight back?
XANDER
Yeah...What?
WILLOW
I call upon past and future and different realities, to bring the power that a blind man sees. I call upon the reality of words, and the sight of the biggest birds. With these words, I thee enchant, let this eye see for this man.
Suddenly thunder, wind, and a flashing light filled the room. Things were changing, shifting. Slowly the environment around them changed into one that looked as if it had just been through an apocalypse. XANDER and WILLOW slowly faded away. Outside, BUFFY and FAITH disappeared. Everyone in the lobby disappeared, except for MIKE, DAWN, VI and STEPHANIE. In the blink of an eye the scenery had changed and the reality switch caused a great pain to course through their heads. They all braced their hands on the chair, but it was too late. They passed out as the energy swirled around them, and then faded. It was done...
ACT TWO
26 INT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL LOBBY - NIGHT
Hours had passed since the teens had passed out in the lobby. A cold wind blew through the room and started to activate their human senses. MIKE was the first to wake up. He slowly sat up on his knees and ran his hands through his hair. He looked to his right and saw the other girls lying on the floor. He painfully crawled over to them and shook each of them. VI was the next to wake up. Her Slayer strengths were slowly replenishing her body with the energy she needed.
VI
What happened?
MIKE
I don't know. I know just as much as you.
VI
Is everyone ok?
MIKE
I don't know. I think we're the only ones here. Stephanie and Dawn are alive, they just seem to be sleeping.
VI
Can you walk?
MIKE
I think so.
MIKE didn't attempt to stand, however. He had to save his strength. Something pretty powerful happened and the shift between the realities had drained his body of all energy. He reached out and nudged STEPHANIE again. This time she woke up. MIKE smiled.
MIKE
Are you with us?
STEPHANIE
Yeah. What happened? (She looked at DAWN.) Is she all right?
MIKE
We know as much as you do.
DAWN (waking up)
And, yes, Dawn is all right.
VI
Is everyone able to walk? We really need to get moving and find out what happened.
DAWN
She's right. We should get going.
VI and STEPHANIE stood up first, having the Slayer power made them stronger. STEPHANIE helped MIKE to his feet and VI helped DAWN to her feet. The four teenagers walked down an empty hallway of the hospital. Everything was destroyed, and every so often a dead body would be lying on the floor. Broken chairs, broken windows, broken furniture, dead bodies; it seemed like the world had been sucked into Hell. As the teens walked, they all jumped as the sound of something dropping echoed through the empty hospital.
STEPHANIE
You think those are people?
MIKE
Let's go check.
They walked up to the door where the sound emitted from. The door was closed and locked from the other side. MIKE tried to open the door, but the lock was to strong for a human to break down.
VI
Allow me.
VI spun around and kicked the door knob. The knob and the lock broke into pieces and fell to the ground. The door slowly opened on its' own and VI pushed it open the rest of the way on her own. She entered first, followed by MIKE, STEPHANIE and DAWN. They all sighed in relief when they saw six doctors working on something on top of a counter. They were all wearing hospital scrubs.
MIKE
Excuse me? Can you--
MIKE stopped, paralyzed in fear, when the doctors turned around. Their faces were disfigured and the doctors were growling. VAMPIRES.
VAMPIRE #1
Looks like McDonalds delivers now.
VAMPIRE #2
I call the red head.
VI (stepping up bravely)
I'd like to see you try.
VAMPIRE #2
My pleasure.
VAMPIRE #2 made a move to charge at VI, but VAMPIRE #3 stuck his hand out in front of him, stopping him.
VAMPIRE #3
Wait...that girl has power...I can sense it. (He sniffs the air.) She's a Slayer.
STEPHANIE
Not just one Slayer. I'm one too.
VAMPIRE #4
What? You're lying. The only Slayer is Buffy Summers and she's in New York.
VAMPIRE #5
No. She's telling the truth. Concentrate. If you look at those two girls, you can tell they are Slayers. The power is coursing through their veins.
VAMPIRE #1
What about that one? She's not a Slayer, and neither is that boy.
DAWN
Hey, I might not be a Slayer, but I can still kick your ass.
MIKE
Me too.
STEPHANIE
So maybe with a nice apology and some quiet moseying, you guys can walk away from this.
VAMPIRE #3
I think not.
MIKE
Have it your way.
The VAMPIRES charged at them. DAWN ducked out of the way and rolled on the floor, leaving the VAMPIRE charging uncontrollably towards MIKE. He stuck his arm out and close lined the vampire. VI was busy with a VAMPIRE of her own. She punched the VAMPIRE in the face and kicked him in the gut. STEPHANIE was having a problem with her VAMPIRE. She had no fighting training at all. STEPHANIE kicked the VAMPIRE in the stomach, and to her surprise, he fell down.
MIKE
Do we have any weapons? Are any of you girls hiding the Scythe in your pants pocket?
DAWN
I wish.
DAWN jumped on the back of the VAMPIRE and started pulling on its hair. MIKE punched the VAMPIRE in the face. DAWN jumped off its back as it fell on the floor. VI spin kicked another VAMPIRE in the face and punched another one in jaw.
STEPHANIE
We need to retreat. We aren't going to get anywhere.
VI
You guys go; I'll meet you outside.
DAWN
What? We're not leaving you here alone with them.
VI
Don't worry, I can take these guys. Remember? Sunnydale? Thousands of Turak-Hon vampires? I can handle six vampires. Damn, I can take on a whole army.
MIKE
Don't get too cocky.
MIKE, DAWN and STEPHANIE ran out of the hospital room. They dashed down the hallway and ran out of sight. Obviously they ran outside into the parking lot of the hospital. VI looked at the VAMPIRES.
VAMPIRE #3
Ready to give up?
VI
Never.
The VAMPIRES charged at VI. She threw her fist out and broke a VAMPIRES jaw. She kicked another in the stomach and smacked another VAMPIRE in the face. She kicked another VAMPIRE where the sun don't shine and threw another one into the wall. The VAMPIRE landed on a wooden table and it broke under his weight. Shards of wood splattered on the floor and VI picked up the sharpest one.
VI
My how the tables have turned.
VAMPIRE #1 punched at her, but she blocked his hand and staked him in the heart. She grabbed VAMPIRE #2 and tossed him onto the table. Before he could move, VI staked him in the heart. VAMPIRE #3 kicked at her, but she caught his foot and pulling him closer, she staked him in the heart. The remaining three vampires stepped back, scared of the skill demonstrated by this Slayer. VI threw her stake and it impaled VAMPIRE #4 in the heart. She turned on her heels and dashed out of the hospital to meet her friends outside.
ACT THREE
30 INT. THE BRONZE - BACK ROOM - NIGHT
Loud music blared through the walls of the once popular club. VAMPIRES walked in and out of the building. The Bronze was a popular hang out for all VAMPIRES. THE MASTER stayed there. Once he freed himself from the Hellmouth, that's where he set up shop. Now, the world was battling a huge apocalypse against an over abundance of VAMPIRES. VAMPIRE WILLOW walked down the cold floor of the back room. She dragged a knife blade carelessly against a set of bars. She took a large key from a hanger on the wall and opened the cage door. She walked into the jail cell and looked at the poor excuse that was a vampire lying on the floor.
VAMPIRE WILLOW
Puppy...(WILLOW kicked him in the stomach.) Wake up!
ANGEL groaned in pain as her foot collided with his stomach. Last night she'd tortured him too hard and his body hadn't recovered yet.
WILLOW
Come on...You could at least fight back somehow...You're no fun when you're all quiet...Xander?
WILLOW turned her head and looked at VAMPIRE XANDER who had appeared behind She ripped open ANGEL'S shirt and straddled his legs. She looked up at XANDER and smiled.
WILLOW
I think I went too hard on him last time.
XANDER
No such thing.
WILLOW
I want to see Angelus though. (She pouted.) I want him to lose his soul so the world can see the beast that is Angelus. Can't that psychotic woman take away his soul?
XANDER
She's psychotic and psychic. I don't think she can take away his soul. If she could, I think she would have already.
WILLOW
Can't the Master bring in someone? He has power over all the vampires. Can't he bring in some warlock vampire or something?
XANDER
Sorry, Will, but speaking of The Master, he requests a meeting with us.
WILLOW
Damn. I didn't have any time to play! (She gripped the knife and stabbed Angel in the shoulder with it.) Good enough.
WILLOW stood up and walked out of the cage. She locked the door behind her and hung the key up on the wall. She stood in front of XANDER and kissed him greedily. He put his arm around her and they walked out of the jail cell. ANGEL looked out a very small window. He was waiting...
26 INT. THE MASTER'S ROOM - NIGHT
The MASTER was sucking the blood from a woman's neck as XANDER and WILLOW entered the room. He dropped her dead body to the floor and stood up as XANDER and WILLOW approached him.
THE MASTER
Xander...Willow...How are you doing, my children?
WILLOW
You interrupted me while I was playing with Puppy...
THE MASTER
Oh, I'm sorry. Wait, I actually don't give a crap.
XANDER
What do you want, sir?
THE MASTER
This one keeps talking about some useless visions. Can you translate what she's saying for me? I don't feel like thinking today.
DRUSILLA walked out of the shadows. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked. Her hands were pulling her shirt closer to her body. Her eyes were glassed over and she had a blank stare on her face.
DRUSILLA
Four...I see...Four...Four rodents who are a flaw in our grand design. Axes...I see...axes...Pink axes...A medal...I see...
THE MASTER
She'll go on and on and on repeating this for hours unless one of us says something. Willow, you were a smart girl before you were turned. Do you have a clue what she's talking about?
WILLOW
Sounds to me that sees four pink axes.
One of the VAMPIRES from the hospital burst through the door and ran to THE MASTER. He bowed his head at THE MASTERS feet and kissed his hand.
VAMPIRE
Sir, I'm sorry to intrude in your personal space, but I need to inform you of something of great importance.
THE MASTER
Speak.
VAMPIRE
I was at the hospital snacking on the left over blood from previous days when four teenagers approached me and five other vampires. Two of the girls were Slayers! They killed four other vampires before retreating!
THE MASTER
Two Slayers?!
VAMPIRE
Yes, I tell you, it is true.
XANDER
I thought the Slayer was Buffy Summers.
THE MASTER
The Slayer is Buffy Summers. How is it possible that this girl is--
DRUSILLA
--Pink axes...I see...four teens...rodents in our grand design...Medals...I see...Stars...The stars are talking to me...A flaw...Flaw in our reality....The four teens are lost puppies in a new world.
WILLOW
I think I understand what she's saying.
THE MASTER
Please, explain...
WILLOW
I think she's saying that the four teens are from another reality and that they are here to stop our project coming on Friday.
THE MASTER
Hm...(THE MASTER clapped his hands and VAMPIRE HARMONY, VANNY and ALEX walked into the room.) I want you three to take groups out in force tonight. Kill these four teens that dare disturb our plans. Xander and Willow, I want you to pay a visit to the Sunnydale Library. I'm sure the Watcher and his two little boys will be speaking of something important. See if they know anything about these children.
VAMPIRE HARMONY
Yes boss.
VAMPIRE VANNY
Do we know what these children look like?
VAMPIRE ALEX
They're probably going to be the only people stupid enough to be wandering the streets after dark. We'll see them before they see us.
29 EXT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL PARKING LOT - NIGHT
STEPHANIE is working inside a car. She plays with a few wires inside a car and the car starts. VI goes in the passengers side of the car, MIKE gets in the drivers seat, and DAWN and STEPHANIE get in the back-seat of the car. MIKE puts the car in drive and drives out of the parking lot.
DAWN
Anyone have any clue where we're supposed to go?
STEPHANIE
Does the surroundings look familiar to anyone?
DAWN
Wait a second. This looks familiar to me. Wait! Sunnydale! We're in Sunnydale! Look! Over there! (She pointed out the window.) That sign! It says welcome to Sunnydale! We're in Sunnydale!
MIKE
Didn't Sunnydale get sucked into a hole?
VI
Yeah, I was there.
DAWN
This seems really weird about me. I remember a story Anya told me about something like this. I just need to try to remember.
MIKE
You keep thinking. I'm gunna keep driving until we get somewhere safe. Should we head to the police station first?
STEPHANIE
No. If the hospital is vampire infested, the police station probably is too.
DAWN
My house...
MIKE
Your house?
DAWN
My old house. If we're in Sunnydale then my house is still here. We can go find Buffy or someone that can help us.
VI
Good thinking.
MIKE
Ok, your house in Sunnydale it is...
THE MASTER V.O.
I want you to find these children.
As MIKE drives the car, STEPHANIE, DAWN and VI look out the windows in shock. The whole town is destroyed. Everything. It's just destruction, darkness, and death. STEPHANIE hangs her head in sadness for all the lives that must have been lost.
THE MASTER V.O.
And when you find them...Kill them...

50 girls sit on the ground anxiously awaiting for their orders for the day. CARIDAD, one of the Slayers from season 7, is closer to a platform. She has been at the training school longer than the rest, and she looks at the door, waiting for her friends to come out.
ENGLAND, The New Watchers Council
The door slowly opens and familiar faces walk out. CARIDAD smiles. GILES, ANDREW and KENNEDY walk out and stand in front of the girls. ANDREW sets up a writing board and takes out markers to write with. KENNEDY stands to the side, arms crossed across her chest. GILES steps forward.
GILES
Good morning, I hope everyone is doing well today? (He smiles as the girls nod politely.) No news today, or at least nothing or interest. By now most of you, if not all of you, have noticed the absence of Faith at our school. (A girl raises her hand and Giles nods to her.) Yes?
CHASTITY
Where has Faith been?
GILES
It seems that Buffy Summers has required her assistance in Hadenfield, California.
CHASTITY
Is it a big evil? Does she need other reinforcements?
GILES
No, not at all. A Slayer named Stephanie killed her Uncle.
CHASTITY
Is she evil?
CARIDAD
God, will you please shut up and let him talk.
GILES
Her Uncle tried to murder her and her best friend. While they were fighting, he pulled a knife and Stephanie did what she had to. She killed him. This is a similar case which Faith experienced. She killed an innocent man during battle, an accident, of course. Buffy called and asked if Faith could stop by and try to council Stephanie on how she may be feeling.
CHASTITY
So that's it? When are we going to start training? I'm getting bored sitting here all the time learning about Vampire history and Slayer history and proper breathing techniques and how to--
CARIDAD
Can you please stop complaining all the time? You sound like Rona...
KENNEDY (from the platform)
Hey! There will be no insulting of the other Slayers unless it's done by me.
CHASTITY
And what makes you so special?
KENNEDY
I fought along side Buffy Summers in the war against The First Evil and I knew of my destiny since I was an 8-year-old. I was learning and training since before you could even walk. That is what makes me so special.
CHASTITY
I want to train. I don't want to sit around. I want to get in this.
KENNEDY
That was exactly the same attitude that I had.
GILES
Fine, Chastity, if you want to train, come up here.
CHASTITY stood up and walked through the rows of girls on the ground. She hopped onto the platform and stood next to GILES, ANDREW and KENNEDY.
GILES
Andrew, if you'd be so kind as to--
ANDREW
--Yes, sir.
ANDREW pulled a flute and a magic wand out of his pockets. He slowly played the flute as he swung the magic wand in the air. Smoke appeared on the platform and spread out across the courtyard. When it faded, a DEMON was standing next to them. It had green scales and talon like claws.
GILES
You want to get in this? Here you go. Training begins now.
The DEMON tackled CHASTITY to the ground. She managed to get out of its grasp and scrambled to her feet. The DEMON did the same, and seconds later the two fighters were colliding, throwing fists and feet everywhere.
30 EXT. HADENFIELD GRAVEYARD - NIGHT
The VAMPIRE ran through the graveyard as quick as he could. He jumped over a large mausoleum and landed on the other side. He kept running, but stopped when he ran into a fenced-in area. He stopped and ran into the mausoleum, hoping they wouldn't find him in there. Slowly, the door opened and BUFFY walked in, followed by DAWN and MIKE.
BUFFY
Your training begins now.
MIKE
What?
BUFFY slowly backed up and exited the mausoleum. She stood outside and braced her hands against the door, making sure MIKE and DAWN couldn't get out.
MIKE
Is she crazy?
DAWN
I'm beginning to think so.
The VAMPIRE growled at them. DAWN and MIKE both backed up, almost walking into the wall. MIKE pulled a stake out of the front pouch of his hoody and raised it in the air. Meanwhile, BUFFY was standing outside the mausoleum, feeling bored, when ALEX walked up to her.
BUFFY
Alex? What are you doing here?
ALEX
Looking for you actually.
BUFFY
How'd you know I'd be here?
ALEX
You're the Slayer. Isn't this your job?
BUFFY
A Slayer. I'm A Slayer. And, yes, I guess you're right.
ALEX
I have to ask you something. I've been thinking about the time we spent together in the hospital when the vampires attacked me. I wanted to know if you wanted to--
The mausoleum door burst open as MIKE and DAWN'S bodies were thrown into it. They both rolled out onto the ground and looked up at BUFFY, glaring.
BUFFY
Hold that thought.
BUFFY sprung into action and kicked the VAMPIRE in the face as he reached for MIKE. He stumbled backwards and BUFFY sweep kicked him as he was off balance. He fell on the ground and BUFFY whipped out her stake and brought it down into the VAMPIRE'S heart. He screamed and exploded into dust. BUFFY looked up at ALEX as she helped MIKE and DAWN to their feet.
BUFFY
Now, what were you saying?
ALEX (looking at Dawn and Mike)
Nothing. I'll just talk to you later.
ALEX turned on his heeled and began to walk out of the graveyard. BUFFY raised an eyebrow, confused, and then turned back to DAWN and MIKE.
BUFFY
I better get you guys home. Dawn and I have to be at the doctors tomorrow.
MIKE
Is someone sick?
BUFFY
No, everyone's fine. Xander is getting a glass eye put in so that he doesn't have to wear that eye patch all the time. The doctors just want to make sure his eye is fully healed and the glass eye won't disturb anything.
DAWN
You're welcome to come by if you want.
MIKE
Oh thanks. Yeah, I'll try to make. I have a track meeting tomorrow, but I might be able to swing by and see you guys.
BUFFY, MIKE and DAWN walked out of the graveyard. BUFFY turned around, sensing something, but passed it off as ALEX walking away. However, as the group walked out of sight, SHEILA walked out from behind a tomb.
SHEILA
Xander got his eye taken out? Interesting...

ACT ONE
26 INT MIKE'S BEDROOM - MORNING
MIKE is sleeping soundly in his bed. He makes a few sleeping noises and turns on his side. The phone starts to ring, but does not disturb his sleep. The phone rings until his answering machine picks up. The automatic message goes off and someone leaves a message. There's silence for a few seconds, then, music blares on the machine.
LYRICS: Sunday morning rain is falling, Steal some covers share some skin.
MIKE woke up to the loud sound of Maroon 5 blasting from the speaker playing on the answering machine.
LYRICS: Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable, You twist to fit the mold that I am in.
MIKE reached an arm out form under his pillow and picked up the phone. He sighed and spoke into it.
MIKE
You know what I find ironic?
NICK (on the other end)
What?
MIKE
You're playing a song about Sunday mornings and that it's raining outside.
NICK (on the other end)
How is that ironic?
MIKE
It is Sunday morning and it is raining outside.
NICK (on the other end)
You're the one who told me to call and wake you up because your alarm clock isn't working.
MIKE
What did you have to wake me up for anyway?
NICK
Um...You have the track meeting in an hour and then you have to go to the hospital to see your friends.
MIKE
Oh, yeah, thanks. Ok, um, I'll meet you there. Bye.
MIKE hung up the phone and slowly climbed out of bed. He walked out of his bedroom and into the bathroom. He turned on the water and stepped into the shower.
29 EXT. HADENFIELD WOODS - MORNING
FAITH and STEPHANIE are walking along a man-made trail in the woods. They walk until they see a river and walk onto a small peer. They both sit down and let their feet sway above the water.
FAITH
Buffy wanted me to come out here and talk to you.
STEPHANIE
About what?
FAITH
She told me you killed your Uncle.
STEPHANIE
What about it?
FAITH
I know it can be pretty hard. One night Buffy and I were fighting a clan of vampires and this innocent guy jumped out in front of me. I didn't know he was innocent until it was too late and I had killed him. I know how it feels to kill someone accidentally.
STEPHANIE
I didn't kill him accidentally. He was going to kill Mike and me. I wasn't about to let him do that. So I killed him.
FAITH
So what's the problem?
STEPHANIE
Aside from the fact that I have to live with Mike, nothing.
FAITH
So do you want to head back? I heard Xander was getting something done with his eye today.
STEPHANIE
Yeah. We better head back. Thanks for trying to talk to me, but I'm fine.
STEPHANIE and FAITH stood up and walked down the trail that lead them to the peer. They reached FAITH'S car and drove off.
30 INT. HADENFIELD AUDITORIUM - MORNING
Parents and athletes are sitting in metal chairs lined in rows all around the auditorium. The track team coach, MR. JONES is making a speech in front of the crowd. MIKE sits in one of the chairs on the stage.
MR. JONES
So, today I would like to present Michael Gellar with a medal of excellence.
The crowd started to clap wildly and MIKE guessed that was his cue to go accept the medal. He stood up and walked to MR. JONES, who handed him the medal. MR. JONES stepped to the side and MIKE knew he had to make a speech.
MIKE
Yeah. Well. You see. I kinda have to get going and don't have time to make a speech. I have to go visit a friend at the doctors. So, uh, thanks and see you tomorrow?
MIKE stepped off stage and was greeted by VI and DAWN. They walked out of the room and hopped into MIKES’ car.
26 INT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL LOBBY - NOON
MIKE, VI and DAWN entered the lobby and spotted BUFFY talking to the secretary. They walked up to her, almost scaring her.
DAWN
Hey!
BUFFY
Hi. You're here early.
MIKE
I didn't make my speech. We just came right here.
BUFFY
Oh.
DAWN
Everything ok? You seem a little weird.
BUFFY
Yeah, it's just...Willow.
VI
Is something wrong with Willow?
BUFFY
No. She has this idea in her head that when Xander gets his glass eye put in, she can enchant the eye so it sees for him.
MIKE
And that's a bad thing?
BUFFY
You don't know Willow very well. Her spells have a way of going wrong...a lot.
MIKE
Well, maybe she won't screw up this time. Maybe since it involves her best friend, she'll take extra caution and extra care in doing the spell.
BUFFY
Maybe.
DAWN
So, why are you out here?
BUFFY
The doctor asked that all non-family members stay outside.
DAWN
What ever happened to the family pact we made?
VI
What family pact?
DAWN
It's something that Buffy made! We all agreed that if anything happened to one of us, we could all lie to the hospital people and say we're family.
BUFFY
Well, it's not like he's dying or something. They just took some x-rays of his skull and all that stuff. He could deal without me.
FAITH and STEPHANIE entered the hospital. They immediately spotted everyone and walked up to them.
FAITH
Hey, B. What are we all doing out here?
DAWN
I don't know. Buffy's going back on a pact she made a while ago.
FAITH
Sounds interesting. Uh. Buffy, can I talk to you outside?
BUFFY
Why?
STEPHANIE
So she can tell you how our hike went.
FAITH
Whoa. Calm down, kid. I'm just gonna talk to Buffy in private, that doesn't mean I'm going to be talking about you.
BUFFY
Oh...why can't you say it in front of the others?
FAITH
Because I don't want to?
BUFFY (sighing)
Fine...
BUFFY and FAITH walked out of the lobby. VI, MIKE, DAWN and STEPHANIE sat in uncomfortable chairs in the lobby. MIKE toyed with the medal he won.
26 INT. XANDER'S HOSPITAL ROOM - AFTERNOON
The DOCTOR stood in front of XANDER. He was slowly fitting XANDER'S glass eye into his eye socket. The DOCTOR finished and he stepped back.
DOCTOR
Now, Mr. Harris, blink, look left, and all other directions. I want to make sure the eye will move with you.
XANDER nodded and did so. Everything seemed fine. He looked a little taken aback by the whole thing. He was somewhat happy though. He didn't have to wear that ugly eye patch anymore.
DOCTOR
Everything seems fine. I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some paper work.
XANDER
Ok, thanks.
WILLOW
Oh wow. It's so weird to see you without your eye patch. You look so much cuter.
XANDER
How much cuter?
WILLOW
A lot cuter. That thing was getting old and fuzzy. It looked like a rat died on your face.
XANDER
Good thing I got rid of it. I heard Vanny doesn't like rats.
WILLOW
...Are you ready?
XANDER
Ready for what?
WILLOW
Are you ready for me to enchant your eye so it sees for you and you will have your full eye sight back?
XANDER
Yeah...What?
WILLOW
I call upon past and future and different realities, to bring the power that a blind man sees. I call upon the reality of words, and the sight of the biggest birds. With these words, I thee enchant, let this eye see for this man.
Suddenly thunder, wind, and a flashing light filled the room. Things were changing, shifting. Slowly the environment around them changed into one that looked as if it had just been through an apocalypse. XANDER and WILLOW slowly faded away. Outside, BUFFY and FAITH disappeared. Everyone in the lobby disappeared, except for MIKE, DAWN, VI and STEPHANIE. In the blink of an eye the scenery had changed and the reality switch caused a great pain to course through their heads. They all braced their hands on the chair, but it was too late. They passed out as the energy swirled around them, and then faded. It was done...
ACT TWO
26 INT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL LOBBY - NIGHT
Hours had passed since the teens had passed out in the lobby. A cold wind blew through the room and started to activate their human senses. MIKE was the first to wake up. He slowly sat up on his knees and ran his hands through his hair. He looked to his right and saw the other girls lying on the floor. He painfully crawled over to them and shook each of them. VI was the next to wake up. Her Slayer strengths were slowly replenishing her body with the energy she needed.
VI
What happened?
MIKE
I don't know. I know just as much as you.
VI
Is everyone ok?
MIKE
I don't know. I think we're the only ones here. Stephanie and Dawn are alive, they just seem to be sleeping.
VI
Can you walk?
MIKE
I think so.
MIKE didn't attempt to stand, however. He had to save his strength. Something pretty powerful happened and the shift between the realities had drained his body of all energy. He reached out and nudged STEPHANIE again. This time she woke up. MIKE smiled.
MIKE
Are you with us?
STEPHANIE
Yeah. What happened? (She looked at DAWN.) Is she all right?
MIKE
We know as much as you do.
DAWN (waking up)
And, yes, Dawn is all right.
VI
Is everyone able to walk? We really need to get moving and find out what happened.
DAWN
She's right. We should get going.
VI and STEPHANIE stood up first, having the Slayer power made them stronger. STEPHANIE helped MIKE to his feet and VI helped DAWN to her feet. The four teenagers walked down an empty hallway of the hospital. Everything was destroyed, and every so often a dead body would be lying on the floor. Broken chairs, broken windows, broken furniture, dead bodies; it seemed like the world had been sucked into Hell. As the teens walked, they all jumped as the sound of something dropping echoed through the empty hospital.
STEPHANIE
You think those are people?
MIKE
Let's go check.
They walked up to the door where the sound emitted from. The door was closed and locked from the other side. MIKE tried to open the door, but the lock was to strong for a human to break down.
VI
Allow me.
VI spun around and kicked the door knob. The knob and the lock broke into pieces and fell to the ground. The door slowly opened on its' own and VI pushed it open the rest of the way on her own. She entered first, followed by MIKE, STEPHANIE and DAWN. They all sighed in relief when they saw six doctors working on something on top of a counter. They were all wearing hospital scrubs.
MIKE
Excuse me? Can you--
MIKE stopped, paralyzed in fear, when the doctors turned around. Their faces were disfigured and the doctors were growling. VAMPIRES.
VAMPIRE #1
Looks like McDonalds delivers now.
VAMPIRE #2
I call the red head.
VI (stepping up bravely)
I'd like to see you try.
VAMPIRE #2
My pleasure.
VAMPIRE #2 made a move to charge at VI, but VAMPIRE #3 stuck his hand out in front of him, stopping him.
VAMPIRE #3
Wait...that girl has power...I can sense it. (He sniffs the air.) She's a Slayer.
STEPHANIE
Not just one Slayer. I'm one too.
VAMPIRE #4
What? You're lying. The only Slayer is Buffy Summers and she's in New York.
VAMPIRE #5
No. She's telling the truth. Concentrate. If you look at those two girls, you can tell they are Slayers. The power is coursing through their veins.
VAMPIRE #1
What about that one? She's not a Slayer, and neither is that boy.
DAWN
Hey, I might not be a Slayer, but I can still kick your ass.
MIKE
Me too.
STEPHANIE
So maybe with a nice apology and some quiet moseying, you guys can walk away from this.
VAMPIRE #3
I think not.
MIKE
Have it your way.
The VAMPIRES charged at them. DAWN ducked out of the way and rolled on the floor, leaving the VAMPIRE charging uncontrollably towards MIKE. He stuck his arm out and close lined the vampire. VI was busy with a VAMPIRE of her own. She punched the VAMPIRE in the face and kicked him in the gut. STEPHANIE was having a problem with her VAMPIRE. She had no fighting training at all. STEPHANIE kicked the VAMPIRE in the stomach, and to her surprise, he fell down.
MIKE
Do we have any weapons? Are any of you girls hiding the Scythe in your pants pocket?
DAWN
I wish.
DAWN jumped on the back of the VAMPIRE and started pulling on its hair. MIKE punched the VAMPIRE in the face. DAWN jumped off its back as it fell on the floor. VI spin kicked another VAMPIRE in the face and punched another one in jaw.
STEPHANIE
We need to retreat. We aren't going to get anywhere.
VI
You guys go; I'll meet you outside.
DAWN
What? We're not leaving you here alone with them.
VI
Don't worry, I can take these guys. Remember? Sunnydale? Thousands of Turak-Hon vampires? I can handle six vampires. Damn, I can take on a whole army.
MIKE
Don't get too cocky.
MIKE, DAWN and STEPHANIE ran out of the hospital room. They dashed down the hallway and ran out of sight. Obviously they ran outside into the parking lot of the hospital. VI looked at the VAMPIRES.
VAMPIRE #3
Ready to give up?
VI
Never.
The VAMPIRES charged at VI. She threw her fist out and broke a VAMPIRES jaw. She kicked another in the stomach and smacked another VAMPIRE in the face. She kicked another VAMPIRE where the sun don't shine and threw another one into the wall. The VAMPIRE landed on a wooden table and it broke under his weight. Shards of wood splattered on the floor and VI picked up the sharpest one.
VI
My how the tables have turned.
VAMPIRE #1 punched at her, but she blocked his hand and staked him in the heart. She grabbed VAMPIRE #2 and tossed him onto the table. Before he could move, VI staked him in the heart. VAMPIRE #3 kicked at her, but she caught his foot and pulling him closer, she staked him in the heart. The remaining three vampires stepped back, scared of the skill demonstrated by this Slayer. VI threw her stake and it impaled VAMPIRE #4 in the heart. She turned on her heels and dashed out of the hospital to meet her friends outside.
ACT THREE
30 INT. THE BRONZE - BACK ROOM - NIGHT
Loud music blared through the walls of the once popular club. VAMPIRES walked in and out of the building. The Bronze was a popular hang out for all VAMPIRES. THE MASTER stayed there. Once he freed himself from the Hellmouth, that's where he set up shop. Now, the world was battling a huge apocalypse against an over abundance of VAMPIRES. VAMPIRE WILLOW walked down the cold floor of the back room. She dragged a knife blade carelessly against a set of bars. She took a large key from a hanger on the wall and opened the cage door. She walked into the jail cell and looked at the poor excuse that was a vampire lying on the floor.
VAMPIRE WILLOW
Puppy...(WILLOW kicked him in the stomach.) Wake up!
ANGEL groaned in pain as her foot collided with his stomach. Last night she'd tortured him too hard and his body hadn't recovered yet.
WILLOW
Come on...You could at least fight back somehow...You're no fun when you're all quiet...Xander?
WILLOW turned her head and looked at VAMPIRE XANDER who had appeared behind She ripped open ANGEL'S shirt and straddled his legs. She looked up at XANDER and smiled.
WILLOW
I think I went too hard on him last time.
XANDER
No such thing.
WILLOW
I want to see Angelus though. (She pouted.) I want him to lose his soul so the world can see the beast that is Angelus. Can't that psychotic woman take away his soul?
XANDER
She's psychotic and psychic. I don't think she can take away his soul. If she could, I think she would have already.
WILLOW
Can't the Master bring in someone? He has power over all the vampires. Can't he bring in some warlock vampire or something?
XANDER
Sorry, Will, but speaking of The Master, he requests a meeting with us.
WILLOW
Damn. I didn't have any time to play! (She gripped the knife and stabbed Angel in the shoulder with it.) Good enough.
WILLOW stood up and walked out of the cage. She locked the door behind her and hung the key up on the wall. She stood in front of XANDER and kissed him greedily. He put his arm around her and they walked out of the jail cell. ANGEL looked out a very small window. He was waiting...
26 INT. THE MASTER'S ROOM - NIGHT
The MASTER was sucking the blood from a woman's neck as XANDER and WILLOW entered the room. He dropped her dead body to the floor and stood up as XANDER and WILLOW approached him.
THE MASTER
Xander...Willow...How are you doing, my children?
WILLOW
You interrupted me while I was playing with Puppy...
THE MASTER
Oh, I'm sorry. Wait, I actually don't give a crap.
XANDER
What do you want, sir?
THE MASTER
This one keeps talking about some useless visions. Can you translate what she's saying for me? I don't feel like thinking today.
DRUSILLA walked out of the shadows. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked. Her hands were pulling her shirt closer to her body. Her eyes were glassed over and she had a blank stare on her face.
DRUSILLA
Four...I see...Four...Four rodents who are a flaw in our grand design. Axes...I see...axes...Pink axes...A medal...I see...
THE MASTER
She'll go on and on and on repeating this for hours unless one of us says something. Willow, you were a smart girl before you were turned. Do you have a clue what she's talking about?
WILLOW
Sounds to me that sees four pink axes.
One of the VAMPIRES from the hospital burst through the door and ran to THE MASTER. He bowed his head at THE MASTERS feet and kissed his hand.
VAMPIRE
Sir, I'm sorry to intrude in your personal space, but I need to inform you of something of great importance.
THE MASTER
Speak.
VAMPIRE
I was at the hospital snacking on the left over blood from previous days when four teenagers approached me and five other vampires. Two of the girls were Slayers! They killed four other vampires before retreating!
THE MASTER
Two Slayers?!
VAMPIRE
Yes, I tell you, it is true.
XANDER
I thought the Slayer was Buffy Summers.
THE MASTER
The Slayer is Buffy Summers. How is it possible that this girl is--
DRUSILLA
--Pink axes...I see...four teens...rodents in our grand design...Medals...I see...Stars...The stars are talking to me...A flaw...Flaw in our reality....The four teens are lost puppies in a new world.
WILLOW
I think I understand what she's saying.
THE MASTER
Please, explain...
WILLOW
I think she's saying that the four teens are from another reality and that they are here to stop our project coming on Friday.
THE MASTER
Hm...(THE MASTER clapped his hands and VAMPIRE HARMONY, VANNY and ALEX walked into the room.) I want you three to take groups out in force tonight. Kill these four teens that dare disturb our plans. Xander and Willow, I want you to pay a visit to the Sunnydale Library. I'm sure the Watcher and his two little boys will be speaking of something important. See if they know anything about these children.
VAMPIRE HARMONY
Yes boss.
VAMPIRE VANNY
Do we know what these children look like?
VAMPIRE ALEX
They're probably going to be the only people stupid enough to be wandering the streets after dark. We'll see them before they see us.
29 EXT. HADENFIELD HOSPITAL PARKING LOT - NIGHT
STEPHANIE is working inside a car. She plays with a few wires inside a car and the car starts. VI goes in the passengers side of the car, MIKE gets in the drivers seat, and DAWN and STEPHANIE get in the back-seat of the car. MIKE puts the car in drive and drives out of the parking lot.
DAWN
Anyone have any clue where we're supposed to go?
STEPHANIE
Does the surroundings look familiar to anyone?
DAWN
Wait a second. This looks familiar to me. Wait! Sunnydale! We're in Sunnydale! Look! Over there! (She pointed out the window.) That sign! It says welcome to Sunnydale! We're in Sunnydale!
MIKE
Didn't Sunnydale get sucked into a hole?
VI
Yeah, I was there.
DAWN
This seems really weird about me. I remember a story Anya told me about something like this. I just need to try to remember.
MIKE
You keep thinking. I'm gunna keep driving until we get somewhere safe. Should we head to the police station first?
STEPHANIE
No. If the hospital is vampire infested, the police station probably is too.
DAWN
My house...
MIKE
Your house?
DAWN
My old house. If we're in Sunnydale then my house is still here. We can go find Buffy or someone that can help us.
VI
Good thinking.
MIKE
Ok, your house in Sunnydale it is...
THE MASTER V.O.
I want you to find these children.
As MIKE drives the car, STEPHANIE, DAWN and VI look out the windows in shock. The whole town is destroyed. Everything. It's just destruction, darkness, and death. STEPHANIE hangs her head in sadness for all the lives that must have been lost.
THE MASTER V.O.
And when you find them...Kill them...
