Chapter One - Arrival
If ever he had seen such a thing, Angel could not remember. Whe was so small, yet seemed so wise. "Who are you?" he stammered, unsure and afraid.
"Lily," she said. "My name is Lily, and I need your assistants, Angel." She looked to be merely thirteen, but her eyes, her deep, blue eyes suggested more wisedom than thirteen years could hold.
"This isn't a place for children," said Angel, though he knew she could not be a child, as her looks suggested. "This is a dark, dangerous place."
"Believe me," said Lily, "I know. Wolferm and Hart is the last place I want to find myself, but you're here, and I need your help." Then she lauged. It was a beautiful sound. "And it is funny that you call me a child, considering I am a hundred and twenty-eight, but I will excuse that. My looks do suggest youth, don't they?"
Angel nodded, at a loss for words. "How...why...?"
Lily held her hand to silence him. "I'm a vampire, like you, Angel," she explained. "I was bitten when I was thirteen, thus I appear thirteen. Now, shall I explain my problem?"
"Yes," said Angel. "Why are you here?"
"I'm having a few problems... you know, demon problems." Lily sighed. "About thirty years ago, I found a prophecy, in which I was mentioned. It stated that the young vampire with eyes of blue, was to either kill or be killed by the metomorphic demon, Ionay."
"Metomorphic demon?" asked Angel.
Lily nodded. "Ionay can change into any form at any time in any place, and she knows I'm in LA, too. I need your help to stop it. I know I can't do it alone."
Angel had never heard of such a case. How can you stop a metomorphic demon, was his first thought, but, unable to turn Lily away, Angel agreed to help her.
"Oh, thank you," said Lily. "I know you can help me."
As she left the office, Angel whispered to himself, "I hope I can help you... HARMONY!"
Harmony hurried in. "Yeah, bossy?" she asked, a pink unicorn still clutched in her neetly manicured fingure nails.
"Get Wesley to look up information on Metomorphic Demons and any prophecies that mention Ionay or a vampire with blue eyes. ASAP."
"I'm on it!" said Harmony, hurrying out.
And so began one of the toughest cases Angel would ever encounter in all of his long years.

Chapter Two
"Here you are," said Wesley, laying a unusually small stack of papers on Angel's desk. "Everything I could find on Metomorphic Demons. It's not much, really. They're supposed to be really rare."
"Did you find the prophecy?" Angel asked, flipping through the tiny stack with a disappointed look on his face.
"Yes," said Wesley, slowly. "But it's in another language."
"Then translate it," said Angel. "Come one, Wes, this is important."
"That's the thing, Angel," said Wesley. "It's a language I've never seen. I can't translate it if I don't know the language."
Angel tapped his fingers on his desk. "Okay," he said. "Fine. Just... just try to figure it out. Hopefully it'll give us some hints to what is really going on here."
"I will," said Wesley. "Anything else you need me to do?"
"Yeah," said Angel. "Have Harmony call Lily. I need to get some more information from her... and Wes?"
"Yeah?" Wesley asked, just before he turned to leave.
"How do you stop something that could be anything, anywhere, at anytime? How do you know that's it or..."
Wes looked at Angel. "You know that's a question I can't answer. I do the research, defeating is your job. I'll get Harmony to call Lily."
"Thanks," said Angel, beginning to read the stack of papers. "This is hopeless," he whispered. "There is no way I can do this... not with out more help, anyway."

Chapter Three
"What else can I tell you?" Lily asked, peering at Angel with those eyes. "What more is there to tell, Angel? Ionay is in LA and she'll want to kill me."
"I'm sorry, Lily, but I don't know how to look for her if she could be anything. How do I know what to look for?" Angel asked, returning Lily's stare.
"Well, a give away might be that someone is trying to kill me in some demonic way!" said Lily, in a tone that reminded Angel of Harmony.
Angel couldn't say anything before the door opened. Fred stepped in. "Angel," she said. "Sorry to interupt, but we have a problem."
"What?" asked Angel, sounding angry.
"Well, uh, a thirteen year old girl was just found with a stake through her heart," said Fred. "She's downstairs."
Angel and Lily glanced at each other. They both knew what the other was thinking. "Ionay has never seen me," Lily whispered to Angel. "She just knows I look thirteen and I have blue eyes."
"So does this girl," said Fred. "She has blue eyes. Angel, do you want to come look at this?"
"No," Angel replied. "I think I know what it is."
"Angel," said Lily, "at this rate, she'll kill every blue eyed thirteen year old girl in LA. Kids aren't safe. We.... we have to do something, and quick, too."
Angel nodded. "Fred," he said, "where's Spike? I might actually be able to use his help."
Fred, slightly surprised, said, "I'll get him." And she hurried off.
"Spike?" said Lily. "Buffy told me about him."
"You know Buffy?" said Angel in surprise.
Lily nodded. "She nearly killed me. See..." Lily lowered the neck of her shirt to reveal a dark scar above her heart. "It took her three attempts to realize I wasn't evil."
Angel shook his head. He'd had to many surprises in one day... way to many...

Lily had gone down with Fred to see the staked thirteen year old. Angel sat, staring out at LA. "Out there," he though, "there is a demon that can change into anything that is killing young girls! God, what am I going to do. I can't tell her I can't help... but how can I do this!!!"
Spike walked in. "Fred says you need my help. Who are you and what have you done with Angel?"
"Very funny, Spike," said Angel, turning to face him. "But really, I need your help. Have you ever heard of the demon Ionay? She's a metomorphic demon."
"Yeah. She's my ex. Turning out to be a bit loony, actually. It got really freaky when she started multiplying herself at light speed... but what do you want with that weirdo?" Spike asked.
"Okay, you used to date her?" said Angel. "Never mind. I don't know why I'm surprised. Anyway.... wait, multiplying? She can multiply, too?"
"Yeah," said Spike. "But what do you want with Ionay?"
"New client," said Angel. "Ionay wants her dead. I was hoping you can help me find her."
"That's all?" said Spike. "That might be difficult, mate. She tried to kill me last time I saw her. I'll see what I can do, but I doubt it'll be a happy meeting."
"Once again, I don't know why I'm surprised," said Angel.

"Sorry," said Wesley as he bumped into the small girl, though he didn't know who she was.
"Oh, it's my fault," said Lily, peering up at him.
Wesley jumped.
"What is it?" Lily asked.
"Nothing... nothing... you look just like... no one... nothing..." said Wesley.
"Don't be silly," said Lily. "Who?"
"My... my little sister, Nichole. She died a long time ago. She had the same eyes as you do. She was your age when she died."
"She was one hundred and twenty eight?" Lily asked.
"No... no..." said Wesley. "She was thirteen. You must be Angel's new client. Are you the one that has the metomorphic demon problem?"
Lily nodded. "That means you're Wesley, doesn't it?"
Wes nodded.
"Good to meet you then," said Lily. "I better be going though. I have to meet Angel and Spike upstairs."
"Okay," said Wes. "Nice.... Nice to meet you, Lily..." he said. As Lily passed, he was left with a strage feeling. A feeling that told him that he would see more of Lily, and that she would become important to him.

"So that's the plan," said Angel. "What do you think, Lily?"
"i think I've never heard a plan with so many flaws, personally," said Lily.
"Agreed," said Spike. "You are putting me in to much danger, I think."
Angel ignored Spike. "Well, it's the best idea we have. Do you want to attempt it, at least?"
"Anything to get Ionay away from me and the girls of LA." said Lily. "I don't want anymore girls to die because of me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself."
"Oh, so you care about a much of snotty girls, but not me?" said Spike. "I feel loved..."
"Get over yourself, Spike," said Lily.
Angel smiled. "Finally," said Angel, "someone else tells him that."
"Let's just," said Lily, "do it and see if it works. We need a plan B, though. Any ideas.... why did I even ask? If we had other ideas we wouldn't use this one."
"I think you're getting the hang of this place, Lily," said Angel.

NOTE: Magui, it goes into that in the next section. It talks about Lily's background.
"Angel," said Lily, after Spike had walked out with a scowl. "I want to explain something to you. Is that okay?"
"Yeah," said Angel.
"I was bitten when I was thirteen, and I was devistated. I withdrew from society completely. I, uh, I never saw my familiy again. It's weird, and it may be because of my young, spirited age, but I had no desire to actually kill people. I never have. Anyway, that's why I'm different. I was worried you wouldn't help me because I was a vampire... you understand." said Lily.
"I know," said Angel. "I knew you were good... no evil could have those eyes..."
Lily shook her head. "You don't know that," she said. "You don't know what can hide behind blue eyes. I've seen much evil behind a pretty face. Believe me..."

The door to Angel's office slowly creaked open."Hello Wesley," he said with out even looking. "What do you need?"
"I nneed to talk to you about Lily," said Wesley. "I just met her. It was a little... bizzarre..."
Angel looked up at him. "Let me guess," he said. "Her eyes, right? How blue they are? It's creapy, isn't it?"
"no, not that," said Wesley. "Well... yeah... I don't know. Angel, I never told you this, but I had a sister, Nichole, before I met you. She was thirteen when she died and she... she had Lily's eyes, Angel."
"So?" asked Angel.
I just have this feeling... I don't know what it is, but I feel like... like... like I'm going to play a big part in her life, or something. Have you ever had that feeling, Angel?" Wesley asked.
"Everyday," said Angel.
"Well, I haven't," said Wesley, "and I'm a little scared, really. What if it isn't a good thing that I will play a big part? What if I mess everything up? What if..."
"Don't waist your precious time on 'What ifs' ,Wesley," said Angel. "Just relax. You won't mess anything up. You don't even know what part you will play, so it's a waist to worry about it. You can't control the future, and I think you should know that by now, Wesley."

Footsteps neared in the dark as Spike stood waiting. A woman appeared. She was tall with long, brown hair and was dressed in black. She was pretty, but the air of evil that sorrounded her seemed to lessen that beauty. She removed a pair of sunglasses to reveal her own pair of shining, blue eyes.
"Hello, Ionay," said Spike. "Long time, no see."
"Cut to the chase, Spike," said Ionay. "I don't have time to chat with ex-boyfriends, especially in the alley of Wolferm and Hart. What do you want?"
"Do I have to have a reason for calling up an old flame? Can't it just be considered nice or romantic, like it used to be?" Spike asked, stalling.
Ionay crossed her arms and gave Spike a look that clearly meant, "Be serious."
"You're right," Spike admitted. "That doesn't sound like me, does it?"
"Not at all," said Ionay. "Now, what do you really want?"
"It's not him that wants you," said a voice from behind Ionay. Angel appeared and looked her directly in the eyes, surprised by their likeness to Lily's.
"Who are you?" Ionay asked. "A friend of Spike's?"
"The person you're trying to kill is my client," said Angel. "I don't appreciate your murder attempts, or that you are killing all the girls in LA in search of her."
Ionay turned to Spike. "Was this a trap?" she asked. "I new you were low ,Spike, but now this low! What happened to the hansomly evil Spike I knew? Are you working with this do-gooder, now?"
"I'm afraid so," said Spike.
"You'll regret this," Ionay told him. Then she turned to Angel. "Tell Lily," she said, "that her days are numbered. I'll find her soon enough."
"I don't think so," said Angel. Then, with speed, he lunged at her, but Ionay, surprisingly, was to fast for him. She lept out of the way and took off down the alley with lightening agility. She was to fast for Angel to catch her. It seemed he had finally met his match.
Woah lots to read, lol. It's a good story. Post something new soon :)

Often, Lily would take off for a while and not be seen for a while. After Angel and Ionay's run in, LIly vanished for nearly a month. Many things happened dearing that month. First off, Wesly and Fred fell in love.
LIly returned one day, to Angel's surprise, with haunting news. "I went to England," she told him. "I thought I would be able to escape from her if I went some where far away, but she found me. I don't know how, but she knew where I was."
Lily, Angel saw, was very shaken up. "I don't know what good I am, Lily," he admitted. "I tried to face her, and you know how that turned out. She's fast, and Spike says she can multiply rapidly."
Lily was surprised. "I didn't know that," she said. "That means we have a lot to deal with, then."
Angel nodded. "A lot..."
Meanwhile, Wesley and Fred were eating lunch down stairs. "Lily is back," Fred told him. "Apparently, she went to England to try to distract Ionay, but she found her there, too. She's pretty shaken up."
Wesley looked surprised. "How do you know this before I do?" he asked.
"Because I met her in the hall when she was walking up to see Angel," Fred replied with a smile.
Wesley laughed. "So," he said after a moment, "England? How did Ionay find her all the way in England?"
Fred shrugged. "She doesn't know. That's why she's upset."
"With reason, then," siad Wesley. "I'd be worried, too."
Fred nodded. "So would I."
You put Fred and Wesley together! yay! Continue.

Wesley entered Angel's office. Angel wasn't in there, but Lily, her blue eyes peering at Wesley, was sitting at his desk. "Hi, Wesley," she said, sounding happy to see him in her brisk, flowing voice. "Long time, no see."
"I heard you went to England," said Wesley, sitting down across from her, as if she were an old high school friend he hadn't seen in ages, but had heard a bit of gossip about. "Ionay tracked you down there, too?"
Lily nodded. "I heard a bit of gossip about you, aswell," she said, leaning her chin in her hand. "I hear you've got a girl friend. Fred, eh?"
Wesley laughed. It wasn't something Lily had said; it just felt funny talking to a girl, who appeared to be thirteen, about things that had happened to them in the last month. It was meraculous how well they got on, considering their differences. "You heard right," Wesley told her.
"Are you happy with her?" she asked. "Is she treating you good? Sorry, I know I sound like a big brother."
Wesley smiled. "Yes," he said. "I am happy. I'm worried about you, though. Seems like you've gotten yourself into some trouble. It isn't a good thing to have a metomorphic demon chasing you around the world, but you know that, right?"
Before Lily could reply, Angel entered the office. "Hi, Wes," he said, not even looking at him. "Lily, we've got another plan."
"Uh-oh," said Lily. "Is this one better or worse than the whole 'Spike call up Ionay and we'll get her in the alley' plan? Or can it get worse?"
Angel looked embarassed. "Well... er..."
Wesley laughed. "This is to funny," he said. "No one told be about the alley plan. How bad was it, Lily?"
"I'll tell you later," said Lily. "It was horrid."
"Alright," said Angel, now angry. "Wes, get out. Lily, shut up. It wasn't that bad."
Wesley left the office. He felt much better about Lily's safety. She seemed to be doing well for herself. He decided he'd go tell Fred how Lily was doing. "She'll be happy to hear she isn't as shaken up," he thought.

"No," said Lily. "No! No! No! That is the worst plan I've ever heard, Angel. I won't do it. Too many things can go wrong and too many people can be killed. I won't do it."
Angel sighed. "Do you have any better ideas?" he asked Lily. "Look, I know it's horrible and dangerous, but it's the only shot we've got. Take it or leave it, Lily."
"I'll leave it," said Lily. "I'm sorry, Angel, but do you realize that could kill a young girl? My God, I can't believe you even found someone willing to do it. I'm sorry, but I'd rather be murdered myself than let some innocent little girl be murdered. I'm sorry, but I won't do it."
"Then there is nothing else we can do for you here," said Angel. "If we come up with anything else, we'll contact you, but we have other cases ,and if you won't take what we can offer you, then you should go."
Lily stood up. "Fine," she said. "It was nice to work with you, Angel," she said very business like.
"You too," said Angel, shaking Lily's hand. Part of him felt guilty, though. He felt he was letting her down, in a sense, but what else could he have done? She wouldn't take his last offer, but really, he couldn't blame her. When he thought about it, he wouldn't have taken the offer, either.
Lily walked out of the office. Shutting the door behind her, she spotted Harmony in the hallway. "Hi, Lil," said Harmony with a smile. She was clutching a unicorn figurine in her neatly manicured fingers. "Where are you off to?"
"Africa, I guess," said Lily. "See you in the next life, Harmony."
Harmony was confused and caught Lily by the arm as she passed. "You're not coming back?" she said. "Lil, what's going on?"
"Angel has nothing more to offer," said Lily. "He gave me an offer. I didn't like it. So, I said I wouldn't take it. Our partnership is over. So, I guess I'm leaving LA."
Harmony looked saddened. "But... but..."
Lily pulled away. "I'm sorry, Harmony, but I've got to go. Just... just tell Wes I said good-bye, okay? Tell him I couldn't take the offer." Lily, who's eyes were welling with tears, ran off down the hall before Harmony could say another word.

Harmony burst into the office. "What did you do?" she damanded.
Angel looked up from the papers he was working on. "Harmony, can't you knock? And what-"
"What did you say to Lily?" Harmony damanded again. "She just left here and said she was going to Aferica! Why is she going to Aferica, Angel? Why aren't you still helping her?"
'Harmony, that's none of your business," said Angel, rather annoyed with Harmony's on going anger at him. "It wasn't working. We'd done all we could."
"Don't give me that bull," said Harmony. "You've helped worse and harder cases than her, Angel! She needs you! I know that if it were Fred or Wesley or Gunn or Lorne, iit would be a different story!"
"Harmony, why are you defending her?" Angel asked. "You've never cared before. Why start now, eh?"
"Never cared!" said Harmony. "I've always cared. I usually just bit my tongue, though! I always assumed you knew what you were doing, but now I know you don't! I hate to remind you, Angel, but Buffy is the one who sent her to you. Buffy thought you could help. If not for Lily, do it for Buffy... or Wesley."
"What do you mean, 'or Wesley'? What does Wes have to do with this?" Angel asked.
"Are you blind?" asked Harmony. "Wesley loves Lily. He cares for her like a little sister. He's going to be furious! So will Fred, I imagine. She liked having Lily around, as did I!"
"Look, Harmony-"
"No," said Harmony. "Look, I know I'm evil, but I won't stand for this at all. If you are just going to send innocent people who need your help to Aferica, then you aren't doing your job at all. You know what? I quit. I won't watch you send her away. Find yourself a new secritary."
Harmony stormed out, leaving Angel alone in the office. He knew Harmony was right, but he couldn't do anything else. He had tried everything he knew! As for Buffy and Wesley, he didn't want to let them down, but Buffy would never know... would she? As for Wesley, he would get over it... wouldn't he? Angel just didn't know. What could he do?

Fred ran into Wesley's office. "Wes," she said, sounding frantic. "Lily's gone. She went to Africa. Harmony just told me. Angel had her go, and Harmony's quiting."
"Whoo, slow down," said Wesley. "I heard what you said about Harmony quiting, but what do you mean Lily went to Africa? Why would Angel send her away? Fred, you aren't making sense."
"I don't understand, either," said Fred. "You have to talk to Angel. Find out why Lily's leaving. We've got to stop her. Ionay is powerful and Lily's small. Ionay will track her down in no time. She can't go to Africa!"
"Okay," said Wesley. "You and Harmony go try to stop Lily and I'll talk to Angel. This must be some miscomunication. Angel wouldn't just send LIly out into a dangerous world like that. He knows Ionay will get her. I'll talk to him."
Fred rushed out.
Wesley followed her, except he went toward Angel's office. He pushed the door open. "Angel," he said. "What's this about Lily going to Africa and you sending her away? Surely there's been some miscomunication."
"There hasn't," Angel sighed. "I sent her away. She wouldn't accept my last idea. She said it was too dangerous. I had to let her go. There are more people out there who need me."
Wesley couldn't believe this. "Are you saying she isn't important? Angel, she's got a demon chasing after her and she's in an ancient prophecy... she's important to the future of Earth. Haven't you read the prophecy? I left it on your desk. Lily and IOnay are involved in Armegeden. Lily's fate could be our fate."

Angel felt stupid, guilty, and ungrateful. He felt stupid for not looking at the prophecy, guilty for sending Lily away, and ungrateful because Wesley had spent all that time translating it and he hadn't even read the thing.
In short, the prophecy stated that if Lily were to die in her battle with Ionay, it would bring forth a terrible monster that would, if not stopped, bring an early Armegeden (the end of the world.) So, now, Angel knew he had made a huge mistake. "Where's LIly?" he asked Wesley.
"Fred and Harmony were supposed to go catch her," said Wesley.
At that moment, Fred walked in. She shrugged her shoulders. "We didn't find her. She's gone. We looked everywhere a thirteen year old could get into. We've lost her. She's probably in Africa."
"Where's Harmony?" Wesley asked her.
"She refuses to be in his presents,' said Fred, pointing at Angel. She then turned to him. "You should of heard some of the nasty names she called you. She's pissed."
"I figured," said Angel. "I've got to go find her. You two stay here incase she comes back. She can't be in Africa yet."

"Do you think he found her?" Fred asked Wesley as they sat waiting in Angel's office. "I'm really getting worried. She could be anywhere and so could Ionay. What if Ionay gets Angel, too? What will we do? Oh, do you think we should have gone with him?" She fidgeted nervously. "Sorry," she said. "I shouldn't go into all the 'What Ifs' but I can't help it. I'm really worried."
"I know," said Wesley. "But Angel's a champion. He can handle this. He's handled much larger cases."
"Did any of them depend on the end of the world?" Fred asked. "Were any of them going ot affect us this much if we were to fail? Wesley, this is bigger than most cases that we get. This is HUGE!" She looked at the clock. "He's been gone for two hours now. We should call him."
"Think about that Fred," said Wesley. "Angel doesn't know much about cell-phones, really."
"Well, we should go looking for him, then," said Fred. "I have his bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. We have to find him." She stood up. "We have to look for him. Wesley, I can feel it. Something bad is going to happen. I just know it."
Wesley, knowing better than to argue, stood up. "Fine, but where do you suggest we look? He could be anywhere and LA is a big place."
"I don't know, yet," said Fred. "Get Charles, Spike, Lorne, and Harmony. We'll devide into groups. We have to find him. Oh, God, I know something bad is going to happen. I just know it!"
Meanwhile, Angel, underground at the time, was searching for Lily. He was directly under the airport when he heard a loud, high pitched scream. "Lily!?!" he called. There was no answer. He ran in the direction of the scream. "Lily!' he yelled. Could he get there in time?

Angel hurried down the passage. He reached a fork. One way lead to a dead end, while the other lead to a smaller, torch lit, room. In the middle of the room, Lily and Ionay were engaged in battle. Angel, not stopping to think, jumped in as Lily dodged out of Ionay's path.
"Angel," Lily yelled, "look out! She's got a stake!"
Sure enough Ionay, now in the form of a blond stuartess, held a stake in her right hand. She lunged at Angel, who dodged and called to Lily. "Get out of here, now!"
"Yeah, right!" said Lily. "I'm not running!"
Meanwhile, Wesley and Fred walked down an empty, underground passage. Wesley, holding a torch to see, said to Fred, "I really don't see how you expect to find Angel. We don't stand a chance."
Before Fred could respond, Wesley held out his arm to stop her from going any further. "Did you hear that?" he asked, holding the torch high. "Shhh..."
Both of them listened carefully. "Footsteps," Fred whispered. "Someone is coming up the other passage. Should we hide?" Fred looked around the passage frantically. "But where? Oh, crap, there's not a place to hide, is there?"
Wesley stepped in front of Fred protectively as the footsteps came nearer, but, to his surprise, it was only Gunn and Harmony. "Scared us half to death," said Wesley as they came into sight. "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for Angel... and you?" said Gunn.
"Same here," said Fred. "Well-"
Before she could finish, more footsteps were heard. Gunn and Wesley held their torches high and stepped in front of Fred and Harmony. "Who's there?" Wesley asked.
Spike, sheilding his eyes from the torches, came into view. "Put those bloody things down," he said. Lorne followed him into the passage.
"So much for splitting up," said Fred with a sigh. "How did we all wind up here?"
"Well, Angel and LIly are both vampires and LIly would be going to the air port so under the air port seems logical," said Spike. "Even Harmony could figure that out." He grinned. "Any sight of him, then?"
Everyone shook their heads. "We ought to keep looking down here,' said Fred. "If we all thought of this, maybe it's right."
So they continued down the passage. They soon reached a fork. One way lead to a dead end and the other lead to a small, underground, torch lit, room. In the room, the gang found Lily and Angel in a battle with a blond stuartess, who, they assumed, was Ionay in one of her forms.
"Angel!" Wesley called, tossing him the torch.
Angel caught the torch and used it to fend off Ionay as best he could.
Ionay, spotting the rest of the bunch, began to multiply into clones of them all.
"Not good,' said Fred. "Definatly not good..."

As Ionay changed and multiplied, LIly and Angel backed into the rest of the gang. "We're in trouble now," siad Lily. "How do we manage this one?"
"Everyone, hold somebodies hand," siad Lorne. Everyone turned to look at him awkwardly. "That way," Lorne explained, "you know who the real one of us is. I mean, there are clones of us, now."
"Lorne's got a point," said Gunn. "Everyone, get a buddy and watch their back."
Fred grabbed Wesley's hand and whispered, just so he could hear, "I know something bad was going to happen."
So everyone paired up. Fred and Wesley took hands. Gunn and Harmony, with an awkward look at each other, took hands. Spike, feeling uncomfortable holding another guy's hand, reluctantly held Lorne's hand. This left LIly and Angel to hold hands.
"If we can kill the real Ionay," siad Wesley, "the others will disappear. The trouble is, which one is the real one."
"Why don't we just kill them all, that way we know we've got the real one," said Gunn. "This is gonna be hard to fight, though. It ain't easy to fight while your holding someone's hand."
"It's better than nothing, though," said Angel. "Anyway, does everyone have something to fight with? Are we good?"
Before anyone could answer, the clones began to attack. Gunn had been right, it was hard to fight while you were holding someone's hand. In fact, Angel and Lily were parted when one of Angel's clones kicked them apart. NO one noticed and there wasn't time for LIly to grab Angel's hand again, so they just had to fight on.
Because they were so preocupied, no one knew what had provoked the high pitched scream that shattered the air in the chamber.
Wesley turned to see Lily, the real one, with a stake through her heart and she faded into dust. The other LIly, the one who had staked her, then turned into the tall brunet form the alley.
Wesley, releasing Fred's hand, ran at the brunet with a fiery. Picking up the stake on the ground, he shoved it through Ionay's heart. Ionay, not expecting this, fell to the ground.
Though she wasn't a vampire, stakes can kill many other things. She didn't vanish. She didn't turn to dust. She just turned a horrid green color. As she did, the clones all around the room vanished. NOw, the only ones who remained were Fred, Wesley, Angel, Lorne, Gunn, Spike, Harmony, and the dying Ionay. LIly was dead.
"She lost the battle,' said Fred, quietly. "It's coming, then. The monster that can bring an early Armegeden. It's coming."
"Not if we can stop it," said Angel. "Let's get out of here."
Everyone followed, except Wesley. Wesley fell to his knees, tears on his face. Angel, at the door of the chamber, looked uncertainly at him.
"Let me," Fred told Angel. "YOu all go on.We'll catch up later."
Fred walked over to Wesley. "Wesley," she said, "don't blame yourself. It isn't your fault."
"I don't blame myself," said Welsey. "I blame Angel. He let go. He let go of her hand. If he had held on... if he hadn't let go..."
"Don't waste time on 'What ifs' ,Wesley," said Fred. "And don't blame Angel. He didn't want this to happen, you know that. Right now, we have to focus on this monster."
"I've lost her and Nichole, now," said Wesley.
"Who's Nichole?" Fred asked.
"She was my little sister," said Wesley. "She was killed when I was thirteen by a metomorphic demon... just like LIly. It's like history repeating it's self."
Fred sank to her knees. She didn't say anything. She couldn't. She pitied Wesley and she couldn't find the words.
NOTE: That's the end of this story, but you can find it's sequal under the title The Beginning of the End which I will be starting soon. Thanks!

It's a very good story! I haven't seen much of Angel yet (I'm gonna watch it in 5 minutes for the first time! lol), but this story is really great! It's easy to read without being too easy...ok, that didn't make any sense, but oh well, it's soon midnight here, I have an excuse! Anyway, GREAT STORY!:D

I'm flattered. I just wish more people would read it. I have like three readers. Magui, Hero, and JustAnnie. Well, I've gotten good reviews, anyway.
