Summary: This story is based on Wesley and Fred in season five of Angel.
No one knew. They had kept it a secret for as long as they could, but they both knew some one was bound to find out. NOthing seemed to stay a secret around Wolferm & Hart, not with Harmony there, anyway. So they both knew the time had come that they told everyone the secret they were keeping. KNowing this, Wesley and Fred stood, huddled together, outside of Angel's office, in which, Angel, Spike, Lorne, Harmony, and Gunn waited for them.
"I'm nervous," Fred admitted. "How will they react when we tell them we're... you know... together? I mean, Harmony will be happy, but what about everyone else?"
"Lorne will be happy for us," said Wesley. "Lorne's always happy, though. I don't really think Spike will care, honestly. So that just leaves..."
"Angel and Charles," Fred said. "Well, you've known them longer. How do you think they'll react? 'Cause I, honestly, have no idea."
"Well, Angel will be happy for us, if you can ever call Angel 'happy', that is. I don't think we have to worry about him," said Wesley.
"And Charles?" Fred asked, noticing Wesley had skipped him.
"I don't know," said Wesley. "I really don't know."
Fred groaned. "I don't want to make anyone mad or upset," she said. "But I can't keep this a secret forever. I'm too happy, and if we don't tell them, Spike or Harmony will find out and they'll shout it as loud as they can."
Wesley nodded. "True," he said. "Well, then we better do it now. I mean, we've got them all together. It can't be too bad of a reaction. I mean, Gunn's my friend. I doubt he'll get too upset."
"I hope you're right," said Fred.
"I hope I am, too," said Wesley. With that, Fred and Wesley pushed open the office door.
"Finally," said Spike. "Angel, here, was boring us with-"
"Shut up, Spike," said Angel.
"Um, we have something we want to tell you," said Fred, taking Wesley's hand, nervously.
"We... uh... we're seeing each other," Wesley said. "We.. uh... we didn't know how to tell you, but-"
"We knew," said Spike.
"You knew?" said Wesley.
"How dumb do you think we are?" Lorne asked, chuckling. "You two always sneaking off together when you could. Wesley, always making an excuse to go down to the lab. It was so obvious, guys."
"Yeah," said Harmony. "I mean, I'm the ultimate snoop. You know I was bond to find out. We were all wondering when you would tell us."
"i wasn't expecting that," said Fred. "So, you're all okay with it? I mean, in most places, romance among co=workers is looked down upon."
"Fred," said Angel, "this isn't most places. This is Wolferm & Hart. Things are a lot different here than in 'most places'."
Wesley noticed that Gunn was the only one who hadn't responded. Fred picked this up, too. "Charles?" she said. "Are you okay with this? You haven't said anything."
"What?" said Gunn. "Oh, sorry, I was thinking about something. Are you two finally telling us you're dating? Took you long enough."
Fred and Wesley looked at each other in surprise. They didn't know what kind of reaction to expect, but it certainly wasn't this one, but it was good, either way. As long as this didn't cause a big fight, as they were both afraid of. Little did anyone know, this was the start of something that would never die... an Undying Love.
