Okay. So when you wright fanfics, do you start off with the first episode of season eight and then go on and wright your own season or do you just wright episodes that pop into your mind?

I guess, that depends on what you want to do. If you want to write lose fanfic, I'd say start with the idea that pops into your head first. But if you want to do a virtual season 8, I think that an episode 1 is what you should start with. That's what we do anyway, and what I've seen of the competition, so are they.

I'd say to do a virtual season you'd need to have the season outline prepared first, the stand alone episodes you can wing it on but for the season story line you have to take into account, where you want your characters to go, who your big bad is going to be... what demeanor they're going to take on etc... if yer new to the fan fic scene, start of slow with the odd story here and there, then pair up with someone to do a virtual season because its a big big job :)

Yeah, to write fan fic you do not need to do a virtual season, in fact try to avoid that for right now. Because there are so many season 8's out there, you can always do something different. Basically, since your the one writing it, you can make the rules, it could be anything you want, hell it could be an alternate dimension where Clem is the evil ruler of earth and the only ones who can stop them are the Trioka. Hmmmm, that's giving me an idea.

Like Guestage_87, I wouldn't recommend a virtual season, even though I'm doing one and I'm not saying this because I'm afraid of competition. It's great fun, but a lot of work, and you can't do it by yourself, good writers are really scarse, even BB's official season 8 has as far as I know, only like 3 writers so far... and yet, they have a database of about a 1000 members. So unless you really want to write it all yourself.
Plus, since there are already so many of them out there, that it's hard to stand out.

So what you're saying is just do episodes not a season
If you want to do the whole season then go for it..Don't be discouraged by Allycat;)..It's just really ALOT of work:) Still good luck

Well personally, I choose to go a totally different direction with my fanfiction. I thought it would be too easy to take off on an already established character. So, I took the very foundation of the Buffyverse (Watchers, Slayers, Vampires, etc.) and created a seven season plan. It is set outside of California and has a new set of characters. It was a lot of work (almost two years) but well worth it. I am very proud of it.
