TEASER

1 AN AIRPORT IN ITALY - AFTERNOON
A plane docks with the airport and the doors are slowly opened by employees. Moments later, dozens of people flock out of the airplane and out of view. The people are all happy and smiling as they head towards their destination. The last remaining people exit the airplane. The employees are about to shut the doors when a hand flies out and catches the door before it closes. The employees step back as Vi walks out of the plane.

EMPLOYEE
I'm sorry.

VI
That's ok. No harm done, right?

Vi walks down a carpet and into the lobby. Hundreds of people are walking about with luggage and small children. She sits down in a metal chair and puts her head in her hands and her elbows on her knees. She sighs to herself, waiting for them to come. Sure enough, she feels a gentle hand on her shoulder. She looks up and sees a familiar face smiling down at her.

VI
Giles!

Vi jumps to her feet and throws her hands around Giles. She embraces him in a hug for a few moments, until she feels him gasping for hair.

VI
Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't know I was hugging you so hard.

GILES
I think I'd be used to it by now. I think it's a trait in all Slayers. Buffy would always squeeze me to the point of explosion. How's Buffy doing by the way?

VI
She's fine. The whole gang's fine. Xander has a glass eye, so he's a lot more attractive now. He also adopted a teenager named Michael and inherited millions of dollars from it. Buffy's holding down a job at the local Social Services building. There's a big powerful demon, but we've got a hang on the situation.

GILES
Good. Good. And Willow? How's she? Is Dawn doing well?

VI
They're both doing fine. Willow and Dawn haven't changed at all since you last saw them. Although, I think you should let Kennedy take vacation time so she can visit Willow. She misses her.

GILES
Kennedy's been working hard with all the new Slayers that are coming in. She's a real inspiration. I can even see her becoming a Watcher if she ever passes her tests.

VI
Tests?

GILES
We're training the girls on their strengths and weaknesses as well as the demonic world. There are only 12 surviving Watchers. We can't educate all the girls at once, so they have a study class every Tuesday.

VI
Sounds great. (she sighs) So, Giles, I know you didn't call me here to catch up. What do you need?

GILES
I need you to follow a Watcher and a small group of new Slayers to Las Angeles. They'll need someone to watch over them during the journey.

VI
Sure. Who's the Watcher?

GILES
Andrew.

Vi's jaw drops in astonishment.

CREDITS ROLL

ACT ONE

2 Huntsville, Alabama - MORNING
Two nurses wearing hospital scrubs run down a hallway, dodging the people walking to and from the hospital rooms. They push past the ER doors and make an immediate left. Inside, two doctors stand around a woman who's on top of a table, legs spread. The first doctor, a woman, blocks out anything inappropriate from being seen. Suddenly, a man pushes through the door and joins the woman at the table. He puts his hand around hers and gently strokes her hair.

18-years-ago

KEITH
You're doing fine, baby.

KENDAL
It hurts.

KEITH
I know, but you're almost there.

DOCTOR
Ok, Mrs. Burram, one more BIG push!

The woman screams as she pushes one more time. There's a moment of silence before the joyful sound of a baby's first cry fills the room. The nurses, the doctors, and the parents both smile brightly. Kendal and Keith smile as the doctors hand the baby girl over to them. The baby is wrapped in a pink blanket with a small pink hat around her head.

KEITH
She's like a vision.

KENDAL
Maybe that's what we should name her. Vision Burram. Is Vision even a name?

KEITH
Do you think she'll like that name?

KENDAL
I think the name sounds nice. If she doesn't like it, then she can always go by a clever nickname.

KEITH
Like what?

KENDAL
I don't know. Vi maybe. Vi sounds nice, don't you think?

NURSE
Congratulations. Your daughter is beautiful and healthy.

KENDAL
When can we take her home?

NURSE
Your daughter needs to stay in the hospital for three of four days, for observation. Then you're free to take her home.

The nurse smiles to the happy couple and walks out of the room. She passes two men in the hallway. The two men are dressed in suits and are very clean cut.

WATCHER #1
Are you sure she's one of the Chosen?

WATCHER #2
Our Seer told us she was a Potential, yes. She's never been wrong in the past.

WATCHER #1
How long until we contact the girl?

WATCHER #2
TRAVERS told us to wait until she was 15-years-old. Would you like to watch over this Potential or should I?

WATCHER #1
I'm too new to take responsibility over one of the Chosen. I'd best spend my days working at the Council. You can watch over this girl if you please. You still have many years to wait before she's of age. I hope you stay interested.

3 HILLSBURROW PARK - MORNING
It's a beautiful day. The sun is shining and it's the perfect temperature. The leaves are just beginning to grow flowers and the small animals have come out of hibernation. Parents are playing with their kids. All the parents are sitting on park benches as the children play in sandboxes or play on the equipment. Kendal sits alone, however, watching Vi play on a swing.

13-years-ago

Kendal seems worried, paranoid even. Wherever she turns, a man in a suit is always there. It's almost like he's stalking her, watching her. Sometimes the man looks right back Kendal and to her daughter, which scares her even more. Today would start a new beginning in everyone's lives, one that would shock the family forever. The suited man appeared from behind a field of trees and slowly approached the swing set where Vi was swinging happily. Kendal saw him almost immediately and sprang from her seat. She ran to Vi and pulled her off the swing, just as the man reached for her.

KENDAL
What do you want from me and my daughter?!

WATCHER
If you'd please stop shouting, I could explain.

KENDAL
How about you explain to the cops? What you're doing is stalking, it's against the law, and I feel I have the right to alert the authorities.

WATCHER
I just want to ease your state of mind, to explain to you why I'm around. I could follow you back to your home, where your husband is, if you feel more comfortable.

KENDAL
Yeah, like I'm really gunna let my stalker follow me home!

WATCHER
Look, it's dyer that I talk to you about your daughter.

KENDAL
You leave my daughter alone!

WATCHER
I don't want to hurt her! But there are thousands of people in the world who want too! Unless you want your daughter to be ignorant about her surroundings, I suggest that you let me explain to you what's going on!

KENDAL
What the Hell are you talking about?

WATCHER
Let me discuss this indoors, with you and your family, and you will have all the answers you need. Please, for your daughters sake, hear me out.

4 Burram Residence - Morning
Keith and the Watcher sit in the living room. Keith sits in a throne like chair across the room from the Watcher, who sits in the love seat. There's an awkward silence in the house, both men have yet to speak. Keith is looking the man up and down, trying to sense if the Watcher is genuine or not. Kendal walks into the room with three glasses and a pitcher of water. She sets it down on the coffee table in between the two men and sits on one of the arms of the chair Keith is sitting in. The silence must be broken.

KENDAL
So, Mr...?

WATCHER
Williams. Matthew Williams.

KENDAL
Mr. Williams, I was willing to bring you back to my home so we can discuss my daughter's safety. Please, speak.

MATTHEW
Before I start, do you believe in the supernatural?

KENDAL
I believe there are certain things out there that are beyond our comprehension, yes.

KEITH
I don't. I think it's all a bunch of hocus pocus crap.

MATTHEW
You can believe in whatever you want. However, there are things that lurk in the darkness. Everyday there is a war raging between good and evil, demons and humans. Luckily, for the human race, there is one girl who can fight the rising darkness. Into every generation, one Slayer is born. She alone has the strength and skill to hunt the vampires. There are hundreds of girls in the world who could be a Slayer, but only one will be called at a time. Whenever a Slayer is killed in battle, a new Slayer is called. The girls who are never called as Slayer or are waiting to be activated are called Potential Slayers.

KENDAL
Are you saying that out daughter is a Slayer?

MATTHEW
No, ma'am. When your daughter was born, a powerful seer saw her birth and gave the information to us.

KENDAL
Us?

MATTHEW
The Watchers Council. We're a group of men and women who have extremely large amounts of knowledge about the supernatural. We have endless resources and books that aid us in our battle against evil. We train and educate the Potential Slayers in case they are ever activated as a Slayer.

KEITH
This is total bull****. You're a mad man. I don't want to hear any of this! Get out of my house!

KENDAL
Keith, please. God is good and God is trustworthy. He wouldn't send this man into our house if he wasn't meant to do good. I believe God has sent this man to us to help protect our daughter.

MATTHEW
And that's all I want to do. Protect her. If you allow me to see her once a week, I can train and educate her with the knowledge to protect herself from any monsters she may encounter. It is extremely rare that a Potential Slayer has to battle a demon, but it does happen.

KENDAL
I can't possibly understand how you'll train a five year old to fight evil. She just started kindergarten.

MATTHEW
I agree with you that I cannot teach her the full amount of information at this time, but as the years progress, I can teach her more and more as she grows older and can understand more. When she enters the Middle School, first year, I will start her physical training.

KENDAL
Where will you train her?

MATTHEW
I can train her in your home town, if you wish. Consider yourself lucky. Some Watchers pull the chosen girl out of her home, out of school, and take her to England. She never sees her family again. I, however, am giving you the choice of where you'd like her training and education to take place.

Five year old Vi walked into the room and approached her father. She pulled on his pant leg, which was her way of asking him to lift her up. He did so and sat her on his lap. She played with the buttons on his shirt and smiled innocently.

VI
Who's that man, Daddy?

Keith looked at Matthew for a few seconds and then turned back to Vi. How could he possibly answer her question?

I'm not done yet, I'm just posting parts as I finish them.

5 ALLEY IN ENGLAND - AFTERNOON
Giles and Vi walked down a quiet alley. They'd been on an airplane for a few hours so it felt good to move around. Giles had arranged for them to fly to England so Vi could pick up the Slayers and Andrew. Once they left the plane, they took a cab to the alley they were presently in. Vi looked around, somewhat confused.

VI
The Watchers Council is in an alley?

GILES
We had to relocate it. It's also protected from good magic. There's a spell surrounding the whole area. It's very powerful spell that was invented by a impressive coven of witches. The spell forms an invisible covering over the entire Council area and creates a reality barrier.

VI
Reality barrier?

GILES
It's in another reality while under the spell. It's like the area is cut out from out plane of existence and put into another, safer plane. Only good people who know of it's existence can enter.

VI
I don't see it.

GILES
You have to say the password exactly. It's modern technology. The spell responds to voice activation.

VI
What's the password then?

GILES
Monkey.

With that, a ripple spread through the alley. A large engine type sound filled their ears and slowly, very slowly, the Watchers Council came into view. Vi and Giles walked forward.

A gate was the first thing they encountered. The gate was made of strong black metal and surrounded the whole perimeter of the Watchers Council. It opened automatically to Giles presence. Vi could have easily jumped the fence, seeing how it was only 6 feet high. They continued past the gate and Vi stopped when she saw the enormous court yard spread out in front of them.

They lawn was kept in great shape. The grass was freshly cut and green. There were many different types of trees, all already blooming. The bushes were cut into impressive shapes. Flowers and other herbs lined the walkway. A small pond was located to their right. It was surrounded by marble rock. The water was cold, clear and clean.

BUNCH BLOCK COMBO!

HIYAH!

CROSS BLOCK KICK!

HIYAH!

It was almost like she was reaching into her own memories and pulling out past events. Her smile widened when she saw Kennedy in front of several new Slayers, giving them fighting commands. The girls were from all walks of life. There was a girl from Italy, Venezuela, New Zealand, Canada, Vietnam, Moldova, New York, and Panama. Of course Vi didn't know this, but the Watchers did. There were only two Watchers present in the courtyard that Vi could see. A man and a woman. They must have been the older Watchers, because they still dressed and carried themselves like stuffy librarians.

Vi heard the sound of feminine laughter and looked in the opposite direction. Her smile grew even wider! Her friends. They were all here. They came walking out of a large wooden door and were headed in her direction. They being Rona, Dominique, Chao-Ahn, Marissa, Colleen, Lauren and Shannon. Vi locked eyes with Marissa for a brief second. When Marissa caught sight of her, she let out a high pitched squeal and came running up to Vi. She threw her arms around her and embraced her in a hug.

MARISSA
Vi! How are you girlie?

VI
I'm doing great, thanks. How are you?

MARISSA
I'm doing fine. Ok, I guess. What are you doing here?

VI
I'm here to lead Andrew and some Slayers to retrieve a Slayer from Wolfram and Hart in Las Angeles.

MARISSA
Ah. I heard they were bringing in someone special, and you are.

VI
I'm nothing special, really.

MARISSA
Yeah, you are. You're an inspiration to a lot of the new girls. I've spread the word about how you've changed since you've been the Slayer.

VI
Changed?

MARISSA
You used to be afraid of everything. Everything would either upset you or make you frightened. But, when you were in the Hellmouth, it was like you were a totally different person. I'll never forget the look on your face when the battle began. You were so full of life. You changed from a scared girl to a grave warrior facing the forces of darkness.

VI
You were pretty amazing down there yourself, but I'm still nothing special. All the girls made "the change".

MARISSA
Maybe so, but you're the only other girl who made an attempt to talk to me while we were in Sunnydale. All the other girls were to busy trying to seduce Spike and Xander or being wrapped up in their hair and make-up.

VI
Seduce Spike and Xander, huh?

MARISSA
Yeah, I heard Colleen and Caridad snuck into his room one night. They were about to hook up with him, but the loser fell asleep before they even kissed, or so Colleen told me. Rona went back in to see if he was really asleep, and he was. She woke him up because Dominique had the stomach flue and she clogged the toilet. She gave you the stomach flue too, if I remember correctly.

VI
Yeah, that was horrible. Anya almost had to take me to the hospital.

MARISSA
I wonder where Caridad went. One day she was here, and then the next she wasn't. Do you think she went home?

VI
Caridad died, Marissa. It's a long story, but she died while we were in another reality due to a spell gone array. One part of the spell was that anything that happens there, happened in real life. So, she was killed by a vampire named Alex, which means she died in our reality too. I'm sorry.

GILES
(interrupting)
You girls can talk later. I'm sure you can exchange email addresses and talk online, but right now Vi has to get back to work. The girls you'll be taking are right over here.

Giles lead Vi to the field where Kennedy was training the new Slayers. Kennedy didn't know they were there until the girls started staring at them. She turned around and saw Vi and Giles standing behind her.

KENNEDY
Hey, Vi. Nice to see you again.

VI
You too, Kennedy.

KENNEDY
How do the girls look, Giles? Are they ready to kick some ass or not?

GILES
I hope so for their sake. I doubt there will be much resistance from the Wolfram and Hart guards, but it never hurts to be prepared.

KENNEDY
What do the girls have to do anyway?

GILES
They're just going as back up. I'm sending Andrew to go pick up a vampire Slayer located in Las Angeles. It seems Angel is heading the offices down there, so maybe he can be of some assistance.

KENNEDY
Then why does Vi have to go?

GILES
Andrew might need some back up and I don't think he'd be able to keep control over these girls. He can barely keep himself under control. You need to stay here and work with the girls, so Vi is the only trustworthy person I could think of.

KENNEDY
What about Faith? Why can't she take them?

GILES
Faith and Robin Wood are currently on vacation in Massachusetts. Faith wanted to show Robin her home town.

KENNEDY
Great. When can I expect my group to return?

GILES
They should be returning in a day or two. Andrew will be checking every few hours while he's there, so you'll have full knowledge on how your trainee's are doing.

VI
Speaking of Andrew, where is he?

As if on cue, Andrew popped up out of know where and pulled Vi into a hug. He held her for almost a minute before letting her go. He stepped back and fixed his coat, and coughed into his hand.

ANDREW
It's a pleasure to see you again, Ms. Burram.

VI
Thanks, Andrew.

ANDREW
Mr. Giles, I take it that the girls are ready to leave? We should leave for the airport soon or we run the risk of being late.

GILES
That's a good question. Girls, are you ready?

The group of new Slayers are nodded at once. They nodded at Giles and bowed to Kennedy and started walking to the exit of The Watchers Council. Once they were out of hearing ranch, the girls began to chat.

MIRANDA
God, I hate Kennedy. Who does she think she is talking about us like we're her property.

SLAYER #1
I know. She thinks she's so much better than everyone just because she was in that battle in Sunnydale.

SLAYER #2
Big deal. I could have been there if I was notified.

SLAYER #3
I don't know. I kind of like. I think she has great leader traits.

MIRANDA
If you wanna be a great leader, you have to get along with the people you work with. And she doesn't do that, at all.

SLAYER #3
She comes from a wealthy family. That's probably how she was brought up. Give her a break.

SLAYER #4
(speaking in Arabic)
SUBTITLED: Here comes the strange man.

Andrew and Vi walked up to the group of girls, side by side. Andrew pulled out a small note pad from his pocket and wrote something down. Vi tried to read what he wrote, but he quickly closed the note pad and put it back in his pocket.

ANDREW
All right, let's head out. You'll find that there's a bag packed for each of you containing a days worth of supplies. Some of you have some very nice clothes, might I add.

Miranda and the other Slayers rolled their eyes and preceded to walk out of the gate. The girls shuffled into a large stretch limo leaving Vi and Andrew in the courtyard.

VI
What movie do you think they'll be playing on the plane?

ANDREW
I hope they play Lord of the Rings or something Star Trek-esk.

VI
Don't get to excited if they do. I still have some things to think about and I don't want to be bothered.

ANDREW
I understand. (He pauses for a second) So, have you read the latest Batman comic book?

6 TRAINING ROOM - NIGHT
Matthew sat in a hard wooden chair, his arms spread across the table as he read an old Watchers diary. He turned to the other side of the room where Vi was stretching on a blue mat set out on the floor. She was wearing odd clothing, but he didn't mind that she had bad taste in clothing.

4-years-ago

Vi finished her stretching and sat on the mat, waiting for her Watcher to say something or give her more orders. Matthew closed the book and turned to Vi once again, looking her over.

MATTHEW
Why do you dress like that?

VI
Dress like what?

MATTHEW
That. You dress like an insane clown that's escaped from the circus.

VI
You've always taught me to stand out in a crowd. You told me that personality is an important thing to have. You told me that I'm unique and I need to show that to the world. The way I chose to express myself happens to be the way I dress.

MATTHEW
Ah, so you do listen to me when I talk.

VI
Sometimes.

Matthew rose from his chair, grabbing a book from the table as he stood. He walked to Vi and sat next to her on the mat. He opened the book and set it in front of her. The book was open to a page with a vampire's picture taped to it.

VI
What's that?

MATTHEW
It's a vampire.

VI
It is? I can't really see. The picture is kinda blurry.

MATTHEW
Sorry my photography skills aren't up to par.

VI
(ignoring him)
So this is what a vampire looks like?

MATTHEW
Yes.

VI
Will I ever have to fight one?

MATTHEW
(to himself)
God, I hope not...

7 VI'S DRESSING ROOM - NIGHT
Vi looked into the large mirror hung on the wall in front of her. She took a brush to her hair and started to fix her make-up. She wore a long red dress which complimented her eyes perfectly. She sighed to herself and waited for the announcement to be made over the loud speakers.

1-year-ago

Vi walked to the door and opened it. She looked out into the hallway. No one was there. The concert had already started, so everyone was already in the auditorium. She closed the door and sat in a plastic chair that was left in her dressing room.

Someone knocked to on her dressing room door. Vi was confused as to who it could be, but she approached the door anyway. She was reaching for the doorknob when the door bust open and she fell to the floor. When she looked up from the floor, she saw an ugly man standing in the doorway. He had no eyes and was wearing a long black robe. She looked on, terrified, as he pulled a long curved knife from his robe.

He gripped the knife in his hand and stabbed at Vi, who rolled out of the way, just barely missing the blade. She crawled to the other side of the room, to which the Bringer quickly followed her. Vi stood up, bracing herself on the counter in the room. She saw a bottle of Stewards Root Beer on the counter and took it in her right hand. She swung the bottle when the Bringer came in range. The bottle collided with the side of his head and broke into pieces. Luckily, it hurt the Bringer severely, and he fell to the ground. Vi stepped over his body and ran out of the room and into the hallway.

VI
Help! Help me!

Vi kept running, fearing that the Bringer would recover and chace after her. She turned a corner, looking back, when she bumped into Matthew. He put a hand on her shoulder and looked into her scared eyes.

MATTHEW
What's wrong?

VI
There's someone in my dressing room. He tried to stab me with a knife.

MATTHEW
Oh.....My God, no...

VI
What is it?

MATTHEW
I'll explain on the way, come on.

Matthew grabbed her hand and pulled her down the hallway. Just when they thought they were safe, the Bringer appeared at the end of the corner. He charged at them and both Matthew and Vi braced for impact. The Bringer slammed into them and knocked them both to the floor. The Bringer held the knife in his hands and stabbed at Vi again. Matthew caught his hands, however, and started struggling over the knife with the Bringer.

VI
Matthew!

MATTHEW
Vi, get out of here! Go to Sunnydale, California! You'll be safe there!

VI
Matthew. No, I'm not leaving you!

MATTHEW
For once, please just listen to me. If anything happens to me, you'll parents will be notified that you've left for California. All will be taken care of! NOW PLEASE! GO!!!

Vi shed a tear, but managed to pick herself up off the floor. She took off her heels and made a mad dash down the hallway. She turned the corner and started down a small stairwell when she heard the sound of a blade cutting through flesh. She stopped for a brief second. She knew in her heart that Matthew was gone. She let out a small whimper and continued to run.

That is a nice story. Post more soon. I love Vi.
