No i dint think he should. Why? cause that would both take away from Angels character and make Spikes character less fun. The best about Spike is that he can go either way good or evil give him his soul back and it takes away that element. Besides the way he has acted this season its almost as though he has got a soul. I mean protecting Dawn, being in love with Buffy and trying to make her jelous. Its like he never lost his soul.

okay, well, he has changed from when he first appeared in buffy. it's like he's slowly regaining his soul bit by bit. yes, it would sort of suck the fun part out of spike's character, but at the same time, it would evolve his character. i mean, his human life was taken away from him so by getting his soul back, maybe he could have a chance at regaining what he lost. ::shrugs:: but that's my two cents. :p

I like the idea that Spike can choose whether to be 'good' or 'evil' on his own, it makes him a better person (errmmm, should that be 'thing'? lol). Angel's only a 'good guy' due to his soul, not so much by choice.
But then...are we talking about Spike getting cursed with a soul (a la Angel), or are we talking about him 'earning' or 'growing' a soul?
Cursing him would definately be a big mistake. Not to mention the fact that HELLO! Vampire with a soul, been there, done that. It'd just be history repeating.
But having him earn a soul might be interesting...emphasis on the 'might' though, lol.

i think spike has many angel qualities-mainly being a vampire, but none of angels substance(angel was so deep!) spike just a stand-in becuase angel left the show!

I wouldn't like it. At all. I can handle them "tweaking" and playing around with the character of Spike, but Spike was just not meant to be good. I realize, that back in the 4th season, before his neutering, he was still rather evil, but he wasn't on his mission to kill Buffy. That's really how he was supposed to be. Neither a White Hate nor a real bad-ass disposable villian. Making him have a soul would just be a copy of Angel, and Angel and Spike are definitely, very much different.

towards the end of "seeing red" spike looks like he's all pissed and wutnot....saying "get nice and comfy slayer, i'll be back, and when i do, things are gonna change"....like's gonna be all bad again, but really he's gonna get his soul just to prove how much he loves buffy and that he can be "good" in her eyes. i don't think he's gonna be all sappy like angel is though..they're both completely different.

im sorry but spike was born 2 be bad! getting his soul back would eliminate the chance of him ever being a bad guy again and omg is he sexy when hes evil! :)
spike will never be an angel substitute cause he has his own character and in my opinion he should always stay that way!!!
