Wow...never saw any signs of a problem there, and I can usually pick them out in a heartbeat-I have like, 7, alcoholics in my family-it takes alot of guts and stregnth to really work on this---I'm proud of him. I wish my family members would do this.

I wish him and his wife well.

Press Release: Actor Nicholas Brendon Enters Rehab Facility

After yesterdays news that he is seeking treatment for alcoholism, Nick is speaking out to thank his fans, friends, and family for their support.

ACTOR NICHOLAS BRENDON ENTERS REHAB FACILITY

Los Angeles, CA – Actor Nicholas Brendon, best known for portraying Xander on the hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, announced today that he has voluntarily entered an alcohol treatment center.

“After realizing that I had a disease that was taking control of my life, I decided that the best way for me to regain my health was to enter a treatment facility,” Brendon said. “I’m grateful for the love and support I’ve gotten from my wife, Tressa, my entire family, my business associates and my friends."

“Over the past eight years I’ve discovered that Buffy fans are the most caring and supportive fans in the world,” Brendon continued. “Knowing that they will be behind me, rooting for me as I go through this process, makes everything that much easier. I’m looking forward to leading a happy, sober life.”

In addition to his seven seasons on Buffy, Brendon has appeared in the feature film Psycho Beach Party, and most recently starred in the ABC Family Channel movie Celeste in the City.

Brendon has served as the honorary chairperson of the Stuttering Foundation of America's Stuttering Awareness Week for an unprecedented three straight years, from 2001-2003.

Wow...He obviously seemed to slip under Hollywood media scrutiny for so many of us to be oblivious to the fact that he even had a problem. Does anyone know how long this has been going on? Best of luck to him and his wife. It takes a lot of courage to admit and seek out treatment for alcoholism. I'm sure some of us can relate with our own family members and such.

I'm glad that he was able to realize he had a problem and is seaking help. I had to do a research report on my role model for English class and I did mine on him. I think he's a good example of a role model to everyone and the fact that he has a drinking problem doesn't change my view of him at all. If anything, it makes my view better because he was smart enough to fight his problem before it got out of control. He beat his stuttering problem, I'm sure he can beat this too. Good luck, Nick.

not to be too catty, but this is what happens when stupid poeple make decisions and cancel TVs shows!
(Saying that alcoholism was a result of Buffy ending).

The best of luck. It will take a lot of determination, but in the end he will be a better person for it!

Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Nicolas Brendan might have been fighting vampires in reel life, but in real life, he is fighting an alcohol problem. According to E Online, the star who appeared in the movie "Psycho Beach Party" has confessed to voluntarily entering rehab to fight his addiction.

Brendon played the role of Xander Harris on the show, one of the Scooby gang on the vampire-slaying series for seven years, protecting Sunnydale--and the rest of the world--from blood-sucking domination until the show’s conclusion last year.

"After realizing that I had a disease that was taking control of my life, I decided that the best way for me to regain my health was to enter a treatment facility. Knowing that my friends and family are behind me, rooting for me as I go through this process, makes everything that much easier. I’m looking forward to leading a happy, sober life," Brendon said in the statement. (ANI)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon is fighting his own real-life demons.

The thesp, who played goofball Xander Harris, has checked himself into rehab because of an alcohol problem, according to a statement on his official Website.

"I’m grateful for the love and support I’ve gotten from my wife, Tressa; my entire family; my business associates; and my friends."

Brendon starred as one of the Scooby gang on the vampire-slaying series for seven years, protecting Sunnydale--and the rest of the world--from blood-sucking domination until the show’s finale last May.

He credited the show’s die-hard fans as a source of strength.

It is sad, but it is also sad to say that alcoholism is very prominant in our society.

Thankfully there are those that can admit that they have a problem and seek the proper help to work through it. He is very blessed to have the foundation that he has at home and in his career as well as the determination in his own heart.

I'm glad that Nick had the courage to admit the problem himself instead of letting us have to read about his drinking problem in the National Inquirer. Nick seems very determined to beat his addiction. Way to often the press makes a big scandal about problems like these and can actually make it worse, but Nick's fans are very supportive of him and are helping him through this process.
