Well, I decided to write another fan fic, it's been awhile, so I might be rusty. So the title pretty much says it all, bar none it's the battle between the Scoobs and The Fang Gang. Here's the prologue.
Prologue
Angel watches fire erupt from the sky as he sits in his office contemplating the news he just heard from Hamilton. With his highly toned hearing he can hear the people of L.A suffer for the apocalypse has already come. Does Angel know how to stop it? Yes, he does. But he doesn’t want to do what he needs to do to stop it. Infuriated, he calls up his closest confidents to his office, he’s going to propose something he shouldn’t have to propose and he knows damn well that although it’s wrong, they will go along with it. Why? Because the last couple of months have been different for all of them, it has changed Angel Investigations. In fact, there are no more Angel Investigations, just Wolfram and Hart. He was on the phone with Hamilton begging for some other alternative, but alas, there is none. The Senior Partners really got him into this time around. He knows they did this just to see where he stands with them, if he is willing to be loyal even if that means killing six other champions.
“Angel, I’ve been looking into the recent earthquakes and fire from the sky and have come up with……” Wesley stops when he realizes that Angel already knows the price he has to pay.
“I know how to stop the apocalypse” Angel says in a rather grim voice sitting at his desk not even looking at Wesley.
Wesley begins to sigh. “And as usual, I take it that we have do something very evil.”
“Well, we work for an evil law firm, what do you expect?” Charles Gunn begins as he walks into the office, the apocalypse is a yearly thing for him nowadays. “But has that really stopped us before. We go do what we have to do and then find some loop hole so we don’t have to do the evil thing.”
Angel looks at his two closest friends and broods some more. “ It’s not that easy this time around. This was planned by the Senior Partners, this Armageddon is an elaborate set up for us to do the last thing I ever wanted to do.”
Wesley reads Angel’s face and a revelation comes to him. “It’s about Buffy isn’t it?” Angel nods right before he is interrupted by the last person who should be involved in this.
“What about Buffy?” Spike asks strutting into the office. “Has she finally come to tell you that your fore head sticks out and she rather have a real vampire with a soul.” Spike smiles than realizes that this is something serious. “Is she in danger.”
Angel stares down at his desk without even looking at his rival. “Get out Spike. This doesn’t concern you.”
“And why the bloody hell not? Buffy is my issue just as much as it yours.”
Angel gets up from his desk and yells at his blonde counter part. “Because the senior partners ordered me to have you removed from this affair! They said that you would add too much conflict to their plans.”
Wesley comes at Angel hoping to calm him down. “What are their plans, Angel?”
“Whatever it is, it must be bad.” Gunn says.
“It’s the worst cast scenario, Gunn.” Angel says sitting back down.
“Worse than fire coming out of the sky and earthquakes erupted bloody everywhere in California?” Spike asks.
Wesley stands talking to himself a little bit. “The earthquakes aren’t just happening here, it’s taking place in parts of Europe as well.”
“So, just because it’s happening somewhere in the globe doesn’t mean it’s related.” Gunn says.
Angel speaks up once more. “Oh, it’s very related.”
“Wait,” Spike is finally realizing what is going on. “This almost everything to do with Buffy doesn’t it?”
Angel nods his head at his friend/enemy. “To stop the apocalypse, we must kill the very core of the watchers council.”
“By that you mean……” Wesley begins right before Spike finishes his sentence for him.
“The Scooby Gang.”
“Who decided to make the earth all rumbly today?” Buffy Summers says as the doors to the office of the new Watchers council swing open. As she walks in, she doesn’t even look around her, she just heads straight to Giles desk. The older English man looks very upset about something, Buffy can tell because he is shinning his glasses, something he always does when he’s worried. “Did someone order up the end of the world again, because you do have several other slayers who can do that type of thing nowadays.”
“Buffy, please,” Giles looks very pale on this evening as the flames fall from the sky. “ I have some news….”
“Giles, what’s a matter? It looks you have seen a ghost.” She looks at her worried mentor, who than is looking past. Suddenly, a very familiar voice answers her question for her.
“That’s because he has seen a ghost.” Buffy turns to see her old ally Anya standing with a smile on her face. Of course she knows that this isn’t the real Anya, the real Anya died about a year ago in a very brutal war atop the hell mouth. Buffy turns to The First Evil with a very arrogant smile.
“Your telling me that Giles is worried about the return of The Taunter. Remember, we destroyed your army, what makes you think that we can’t stop whatever other apocalypsy thing you have planned now?”
The First struts up to Buffy with the confident smile that Anya used to display while Giles groans in disbelief. “I hate to disappoint you young slayer, but my battle is not against you this time around. This time around, your going to be the chest pieces.”
Buffy turns to Giles, a little confused. “Giles, what the hell is going on? I can tell by the look on your face that you know what this look spook has planned.”
Giles still looks very upset. “Oh, he knows all too well what’s going on, and he knows that you have no choice this time around.”
Giles looks at Buffy almost heart broken. “Buffy, it’s the only way to the world from being annihilated.”
“That’s good,” The oldest slayer says to her mentor with painful desire to know the truth. “But you still haven’t explained to me what’s going on.”
“I think I can explain a little bit.” The First begins standing in between Buffy and Giles. “ For centuries, I have been the one true being evil, the creator of all of it. Anything that had to do with hate, fear, loathing, murder, anything sinful, I knew about it. But then sometime down the road, a few new evil beings arose, not quite as powerful as I, but they had the potential to be equal if not more powerful than I.”
Giles stands up rubbing his glasses once more. “Now they are equal to you and you don’t really like it that much do you? So both decided to start to start an apocalypse to prove who the better evil is? That’s the game isn’t game, isn’t it?”
“Wait,” Buffy intervenes. “Who is this other Uber Big Bad?”
“The Senior Partners.” Giles answers Buffy’s question. “Otherwise known as Wolfram and Hart.”
“The law firm that Angel works for now?”
The First takes the floor once more. “Yes, since we both don’t like having the competition, I stuck up a deal with them. Together we would bring forth the end of the world as a bargaining chip for our champions. I have chosen my six champions, and they have chosen their six. These champions will face each other in a one on one battle, if my champions win, the apocalypse ends and The Senior Partners gets vanquished from this or any other realm. Vice versa, if they win, but they won’t, I have a lot of faith in the people I have chosen.”
“Wait a minute,” Buffy begins. “ We are your chosen champions? What makes you think we are going to go along with this.”
The First begins again. “ Think about it Buffy, you were the only one to ever defeat me, that alone is enough proof for me to choose you as my warrior. And honestly, you don’t have a choice, there is no loophole this time around, either you fight or the world as you know it will come to an end.”
Buffy infuriated stomps her foot down. “Giles there has to be some other way.”
Giles answers her. “There isn’t, The First made it very clear that it’s either one side or other.”
Buffy gets up close to The First. “So tell me, Mr. you can’t me, who are the other six?”
Anya/The First smiles. “Do you really need to ask?”
Buffy knows the answer already. “Angel and his group.”
“Which now includes Spike.” Giles adds.
“WHAT?” Buffy looks even more confused now. “Spike’s alive.”
“Oh, very much so, well, as alive as a vampire can be.” The First begins again. “but having him involved would be a conflict of interest, so he is banned from fighting in this tournament.” The First looks towards Giles. “Did you do what I asked you to do?”
Giles answers. “You bloody well know that I did. Willow, Xander, and Andrew are all their way here.”
“Good, soon we will see who the greatest power is.” The First smirks using Anya’s lips.
Suddenly, something else pops into Buffy’s head. “But that’s only five, including me and Giles, who’s the sixth person you have chosen?”
Anya/The First smiles as the doors to the office swing open once more. “Buffy, I’ve been waiting outside forever, how long is this going to take?” Buffy’s sister says not even looking at what’s going on.
A look of disbelief is on Buffy’s face as she realizes who the sixth member of her group is. “Oh god no.”
