I liked this episode. It was a shame Buffy wasn't in it more, it would have been even funny to see her just throwing other girls out of the way to get to Xander...lol...I think this episode showed that Giles was a father figure to not just Buffy but Xander too, they had a really good scene in the library together. It was so sad about Willow though, she must have been so upset. I thought Oz was hillarious when he came into the library and smacked Xander...lol...

That eppie was hilarious! I think I enjoyed Jenny's responses and sensual eyes the most. Giles was pretty frustrated. But I think my highlight moment was when Cordelia was getting the snot kicked out of her by the female students. Chalk one up for paybacks are mothersuckers! ::evil2:: ::evil:: ::evil1::

Definate thumbs up to the episode! But I have to say I enjoyed Jennie Callendars lusty display the most.

Then we could have seen Xangel or Spander....or a three-way thing. I liked how Dru was affected and stopped Angelus. I thought it was funny.

I so wanted him and Buffy to hook up in the episode though. I was mad when Amy turned her into a rat. But Amy tends to piss me off.

Also when Oz punches Xander...very funny stuff.

This was one of the funniest episodes in the second season and well-needed in a season full of heart-wrenching angst.

I loved the scene with Buffy in the coat, Xander's honorable refusal to take advantage of the situation, the fact that Cordy was still wearing the necklace (showing that she really did care about him) and her reaction that the spell was for her.

The eye-opening scene was the one where Willow shows up in Xander's bed wearing just a shirt. The scene where she starts nibbling on Xander's ear... when did Willow get so aggresive?

A great episode all around.

I just got finished watching this episode (again) and I love it! The Buffy rat was awesome and I thought Oz was so cute! But I still can't believe he punched Xander! Not cool!

My favorite part must be when Xander does that strut down the hallway. HILARIOUS! And Nicholas looked so goofy doing it too!

I really like this episode. It is so funny! The way that all the girls were hitting on him, LOL! The scene where he is walking through the school in slow motion and all the girls are checking him out cracks me up every time. Also, it was great that in the end Cordelia decided that she was not going to let her friends rule her anymore. The way she stood up to them was really great to see. I never thought I would see her actually being her own person for once. Also, I loved it when Buffy turned into a rat. She was so cute! Hehe. Great episode.

Awesome episode. The whole thing is funny as hell. Buffy is definitly at her hottest when she walks in the library in that trenchcoat (Damn!!!). I loved the fact that Giles gets so mad at Xander. When he tells him to get out of his sight it shows how disappointed he is in Xander, and how much he actually does care about him. Jenny is great hitting on Xander too.

Love Spells are a very interesting thing, I have to admit. This episode was great and it displayed awesome things. Buffy suddenly being turned on by Xander and everything...then Ami, then Willow with an axe and in Buffy's basement, even Joyce...it was hilarious.

I really enjoyed watching that episode, it was amusing, one I will not soon forget...I love in later seasons when Willow and Buffy get on his case about that episode. Then the flashback.

Overall, awesome episode for season 2!

This episode was run on the FX Network here in the U.S. today, only natural since it's St. Valentine's Day.

Cordelia is really good-but it's so painful that scene in the Bronze where she breaks up with Xander-I feel so bad for him.

This is all around a favourite episode of mine. All the women give great performances-and don't forget Drusilla! Her scene with Angel and Xander outside of Buffy's house is just SO funny!

And I loved watching Giles too. So utterly disgusted (to Xander: Get out of my sight!) I love the part where he yells at Amy and Jenny like an angry parent.

I love this episode. The scenario and plot behind it was extremely well done and it made me so happy.

It was cool to have every girl in sunnydale accept cordy hitting on Xander. It was so funny...that would probably be me hitting on Xander, he's really kind of hot and he would probably smell really nice...

I've really come to love this episode. The breakup and makeup story of Cordelia and Xander has an endearing quality in the perspective of their much darker breakup in Season 3.

yea i loved this episode it was soo funny when Buffy was throwing herself at Xander,but it was also really sweet when he told Bufy that he couldnt do anythig with her because it wouldnt be right.i love Xander.Joyce was really scary when she was trying to get back in the house she was like a psycho mum.i felt bad for Willow because that must of hurt her the most as she already had feelings for Xander and for them to be played like that it must of been really hard for her.

I love the expression on Amy's face when they're in the classroom and Xander is forcing her to go along with his idea and she finally says "I'll need something of hers-a personal object". And I love the scene in Xander's bedroom where Willow tells him "I want you Xander...to be my first. We both know it's right." So sweet, so plaintive.

Finally had the chance to re-watch this episode and I have to say how much I adore the interaction between Angelus and Drusilla.

Within seconds of the show starting, Xander asks Buffy when the gang is going to stop making fun of him for going out with Cordelia and Buffy tells him that he could find someone better. Xander says "maybe in a parallel universe" -- I immediately thought of vamp-Xander and vamp-Willow.

Having just watched a made-for-tv movie with Nick and Charisma in it, it felt strange seeing "Xander" so young again. Charisma doesn't seem to have changed as much. She looked really good when she showed up at the Bronze Valentine dance. I noticed later in the episode that the skirt she was wearing the next day was super-short!

Spike tells Angelus to rip Buffy's lungs out but Angelus thinks it lacks poety. Spike says it doesn't have to and wonders out loud what rhymes with lungs: tongues. It's another body part so that should fit right into a gruesome poem.

The box of roses on the back porch with a note that just says "soon" -- anyone else surprised to see fresh red roses? :rose: I totally expected dead flowers with bugs crawling on them, or at least black roses.

I forgot how much of a bitch Harmony was before becoming a vampire.

Amy told Xander that "intent has to be pure" with love spells. Are we really to believe that the spell would have worked "normally" if Xander merely loved her and wanted her back? Somehow I doubt it.

ARG. the nickname "Cordy" rears it's ugly head. Man, I hate it when people call her that!

At first I thought it was a bit odd that Buffy suddenly has a raincoat and high heels but I suppose if Xander had time to go home and back, Buffy could have gone home, gotten them and come back also. Xander called it a raincoat she was wearing but it looked like it was made out of satin to me.

Rat-Buffy climbs down some stairs and then we see a black cat hiss at her. Quite the coincidence that a cat happens to be at school. And BTW, when it happened, my cat came running out of the bedroom to find the cat that was on TV. http://paige.slayablemedia.com/smilies/kitty_white_meow.gif

I'm sure we all knew that someone would reach in and grab Xander when he was near the open window, but I had forgotten that it would be Angelus.

It was so nice to see Cordelia and Xander get back together at the end of the episode. :love1: It bums me out knowing that the real break-up is coming. :bluesad:

Wow, wasn't Buffy just the sexiest little vixen in this episode? I mean the whole unwrapping your present now thing was possibly the most teasing scene in the Buffyverse...uh maybe. One of the best episodes of season two, and so much lighter than a lot of it. And finally, the female population of Sunnydale came to their senses and realized Xander's hot! C'mon, I was waiting for forever for them to realize *rolls eyes* jeez. hehe. and i just love how differently each of the women come onto Xander
-Buffy's 'aren't you going to open your present' followed by Xander's fearful, 'for the love of god Buffy don't open that raincoat'
-Willow just like in his bed! haha. she just went over everybody's head and straight to the source, haha. the vixen
-Jenny; trying to apologize to Giles only to be distracted by the Xander hotness. love it when Giles drags her away and she's like 'uh....no!'
-Joyce. For the pure fact Buffy's Mom came onto Xander and then promptly 'forgot' about it afterwards. haha. and after her oh-so-smooth 'it's more of a hot night comment' i love the way it just makes xander give up and he's like 'whatever!'.

Absolutely love the end scene tho where Cordy finally tells Harmony to shut up and walks off with Xander. Good times

Drusilla's part was the funniest for me. That and Angel's reaction to it. Maybe because it always kind of shocks me. I know what's going on, but seeing Dru all "vampy" always kind of makes me forget that she's a girl or could be under the spell too....I guess. Honestly, though, I'd have rather seen Spike's reaction than Angel's.

Just watched it yesterday. I LOVE when Xander says "we should be safer up here" and then bam, Angelus grabs him and is like "Works in theory." He delivered that line so well!
