How did you feel about the Darla arc? my mom said she hates the story line so much she doesn't ever want to rewatch those episodes. I on the other hand LOVE all of the episodes she is in.

That's not a stupid question. I thought it was good storyline. It did lead to some real intense scenes. For example; Connor's birth and Angel firing up Darla and Drusilla(great!). One of my favorite character plots/arcs was Cordy's journey throughout the show.

I liked Darla on Angel..not the Darla who started out on Buffy in S1..the flashback shots were cool, but on Angel she rocked. She was edgy and honest.
But yea the Cordy journey was the best :D

yes I love Cordy's Journey and her stuff on Angel and with Angel, but I was asking about Darla :) lol
and I agree I didn't care to much for Buffy season one Darla.
My mom was talking about season two, up to her giving birth to Connor. Anyway good to know it's not a dumb question.

Lol sorry!!! I just had to respond to Blessed's comment :D
But no question is a dumb question...asking questions are how we learn things :D

I personally really liked that whole story. On the other hand ... (*Takes deep breath and prepares to be pelted with bottles*)... I never liked Connor.
I liked the story of bringing her back to get to Angel. But I never liked what came after... i.e. Connor!

I have only seen Darla on Buffy but there I didn't really like her. (I think that's mostly because I know Julie was really mean to Alyson, and I can't just not think about that..)

I thought the Darla storyline was great, her and Angel had so much history it was like an epic tale.
Like Cordelia I didn't like her in season 1 of Buffy. Maybe because she was only in it for 5 minutes and we didn't get a chance to see her character in full swing.
Julie had some great lines I love the one when they are surrounded in the hospital surrounded by the vampire cult.
Loved this scene from Quickening
We get a close up of Darla's belly then the camera pulls back to show all the vampires kneeling, while AI and Darla stand in the middle of the room watching.
Cordy: "Hey, I'm all for being idolized, but - what the hell is going on?"
Angel: "What do you want?"
Vampire: "To protect the miracle child."
Angel: "Protect? Ah, that's good. We're all here for the same thing."
The guy with the sword that Lilah called earlier suddenly jumps through one of the glass windows above, dressed like a ninja and holding the sword in front of him, screaming 'die!'
The miracle child worshipping vampires jump on him en masse, and he goes down with a strangled scream. We hear a crunch and someone gulping down liquid.
Vampire straightening from his meal: "As it has been prophesied - by our great potentate Ul-thar, we vow our lives to protect this - special child."
Angel aside to Darla: "You hear that? Our kid. Special."
Vampire: "Now let us kill the humans so we may use their blood to nourish the mother - and her miracle child."
Darla, smiling: "Guess I'm getting dinner after all."
Angel: "Darla, you might wanna join the fight."
Darla: "Sorry, darling. I'm gonna have to be Switzerland and sit this one out. (To vampires) Now, you did say you were just gonna kill the humans, right?"
Vampire: "Yes, just the humans. Then we will nourish you, slice you open, wear your entrails as a belt and consume your eyeballs before we worship the miracle child."
Darla jumps off the table and goes to stand beside Angel.
Darla: "Okay. I'm in."
Angel: "Gunn, you and I can hold them off for as long as we can. The rest of you, get Darla to the car."
Darla: "Oh, I'd rather stay and fight. Show these youngsters a thing or two about real carnage."

i loved Darla in Angel, but she was really annoying and ditzy and stupid in Buffy. In Angel she was sooooooo cool and edgey! she was awesome! it was funny because i just kept thinking "when is she gonna die?!" but then when she did die i was so sad!!! i cried a lot then!

I also loved Darla on Angel. There is one problem for me however..I kept comparing her to another "fallen" women turned vampire, one Janette DuCharme . She was a character in a show called Forever Knight and could handle Darla with one hand behind her back and the other on a glass of bloodwine. If you've never watched Forever Knight I supose this sounds a tad odd. just trust me on this one.

I agree with most people, didn't care much for her in Buffy but in Angel she shone. It was a great idea to bring her back, Angel wants to move on with life but is tortured by his past, and Julie does such a great job. The whole arc during S2 and S3 was really great.
Plus, on Angel she looked much hotter ;)

I didn't really like her on Buffy. She was supposed to be this infamous vampire who had killed thousands of people, but she just didn't seem that way when I watched her on Buffy.
When she got to Angel, however, Julie really grew into the character and everything they said about her past seemed believable. The flashbacks always made me happy because they gave insight into all four of the vampires (Darla, Angelus, Spike, and Dru) and usually had something funny tossed in there. IMO, the pregnancy arc in season 2 was fabulous. The scenes it provided were intense and wonderful and it helped Angel establish itself as its own show, separate from Buffy.

At first, I hated Darla. She was annoying and frankly I despised Lindsey's attraction to her. When she killed herself for the child, my opinion didn't change and I was saying, 'Thank God.' But then, in the fourth season, Cordelia is getting ready to have her baby and Darla appears and talks to Connor, looking so ethereal and angelic in all white, with her blue eyes and blonde hair, and then there was Cordelia, all devil in black. I was sobbing by the time Connor made his choice and my opinion of her changed for ever. Now I adore the episodes with her and cry when she dies.
It is true, she was very annoying and bxxchy in Buffy, but in Angel she was an entirely different character.... her interaction with Angel was obviously for the better and let us explore his past with her. It was very fulfilling.
So I chose yes. :)

I hated Darla too at first, couldn't stand her in Buffy, and when she appeared in Angel to I just thought it would be boring. But I really liked her and Dru in the end of season 2, mostly because I just love Dru but that was the beginning of me starting to like Darla too. When she came back all pregnant I didn't quite like her as much as I do now. When she was back to convince Connor to do the right thing was the time I really started loving her..
i really loved the darla stoyline. especailly how it all came ful circle with her sacrificing herself to give birth to connor.
bt i have a question...
do you think it was darla that connor saw in 'inside out'? or was it a trick? or his imagnation?

I think it was Darla's ghost.
I think it was Darla's ghost.
cool, thanks. this makes darla's journey more amazing to me. becasue of her sacrifice to save connor, she came full circle and became good again!!

Yes, I loved it.... Darla is one of my fav characters... and that whole bringing her back was awesome!
I thought she was great in ATS. It was really awesome to see all the flashbacks with her in the them, etc. Kind of gave you a better idea about their history which we only got a little idea about in BTVS.
