Best Season 3 Episode?

So, what was your favorite episode in the "I'm Wesley, and I like to steal babies" season? For me? I'm going to have to vote for Waiting in the Wings. I love the ballet theme, the whole Cangel sex scene, and it's got that hilarious deleted scene where Alexis and Amy are on stage doing their thing. Yeah, all around, an awesome episode. Gotta love those prima ballerinas.

Hmm yea I couldn't decide... But I love Waiting in the Wings too, great episode... But I think the end of this season was just too dark for me, or the wrong kind of dark... I usually like that stuff but not here...

Julie Benz was an amazing actress, the conversation on the roof with Angel was a good scene, and the birth was very dramatic and surprising.

Lullaby! Darla dying was *SO* sad! I think it was the only time I actually cried (or first time I don't know) for a character that died.

I really liked the whole Wesley thing in the end of this season, him ending up all alone and it was a real tragedy in the old sense.. I could just feel the bad things coming. But I really can't choose just one episode right now..

sleep tight was my favorite in that season it was so sad when they took conner! but i aslo felt bad for wesley and i like the part in the next episode when angel tries to kill wesley and felt so bad for wes.

I liked the romance between Cordelia and Angel. I was always a fan of their relationship.

A second, very close runner up would be Birthday. I love the alternate world for Cordelia.

I voted 'That ol' Gang of Mine' because Gunn is one of THE most underused charaters, second only to Lorne. There was so much potential for his character as witnessed in this episode, but it was just wasted while the writers turned him from Black street fighter to White crime fighter.....

I'm sorry. I picked Heartthrob on account of that episode had some Bangel moments even though Buffy wasn't even on it. I really didn't like a majority of season 3 because of the whole Angel/Cordelia thing. It really makes me angry that the show would attempt to say that Buffy and Angel were just stepping stones on the path to an even greater love. Buffy's love for Angel brought him back from Hell for pete's sake. And he left because he loved her so much. I hated the whole C/A relationship. I thought it was really wrong.

I loved Waiting in the Wings. That is one of my all time favorite episodes.

Tomorrow is also another great ep. I just love the scene where Cordy ascends to the higher plane. Too bad it eventually led to her death:(

That's a tough one S3 is my favourite season. I have to mention three at least:

As a C/A shipper: Waiting In the Wings .. no question about that. Beautiful episode. Funny, sad and poetic all in one package.

Writing: Best written episode for me in that season Lullaby. The dialogues between Angel/Holtz, Angel/Darla .. amazing. The final scene with Holtz walking slow motion through burning Caritas, Darlas sacrifice, Angel and Holtz' silent stand-off and his promise: "I swore I show no mercy and I won't". Makes me shiver every time.

Emotion: Biggest emotional impact had Sleep Tight. To lose his only child over the betrayal of a trusted friend is the most horrible event imaginable. On the other hand said trusted friend sacrifices everything thats important to him, to do what he thinks protects his best friend and the child, only to find himself bleeding to death and isolated from the people he loves. My heart just breaks for both of them.

Season 3 had a lot of really awesome episodes, but I had to go with Heartthrob in the end, I love this episode. It explains what has been going through Angels head after Buffy died, and a lot of other things pertaining to their relationship, and Im a huge Bangel fan so you know I just ate that up. But it also had some humorous moments, and Cordy had a really good speech at the end, I love it. Heartthrob is actually my favorite Angel ep, Im not sure why it just is.

and i think it is lullaby where Darla sacrifices herself very moving came a close second.Plus Holtz and Justine really annoyed me.My mum told lies about my dad so i can get very angry seeing it happen to another i know what damage it does.I also hated the way Cordy just abandoned Angel like that i mean Doyle gave her the visions so he could still have the connection to the ptb! i was yelling Cordy do not do it! but her logic is a little off lol at times...what i liked about her.
did she assend cos she felt she had let him down..? and poor Wes! He never said sorry and neither did Angel ....but in Angel's case i understood.

Crushed Dead Boone agrees: I never liked Gunn but I did love that episode...I might have liked Gunn if he was more developed and stuff, but they tried to hard to make him "urban". Blah.

The writers of the show did a terrible thing with Gunn. They tried to make him 'Urban' as you say, but they did it from a white perspective.
Gunn should have been one of the best characters of the show to definitely separate Angel from Buffy, instead they made him a little bit of a joke with the Ballet and the Gilbert and Sullivan while falling for THE whitest girl possible.

I voted again, I'm not sure why it let me, but after lots of thought I voted for "Tomorrow", because I remember how many emotions it brought out in me - STRONG emotions they were, too. At first I was SO happy because Angel and Cordy were finally going to tell each other that they loved one another. And then I got really scared because I realized that in "Angel", nothing good ever seems to happen, it always gets screwed up. And then I got very angry when Cordy ascended. And then I felt raging hatred for Connor when he locked Angel up and threw him in the ocean. And then I was depressed for two days after seeing the episode because of the unrequited Cangel love and the whole general darkness of the season.

Man season three is awesome.

I do tend to love the more comedic episodes, especially in seasons three and four. They were so heavy that comedic relief becomes necessary. I love "Spin the Bottle" for that reason. Although even in the darkest episodes there's usually at least one line that can make me laugh.

Gotta agree with some of the comments about Gunn. Although this season is terrific in general, I have a real problem with finding the relationships unbelievable. I never bought Cangel ;) for a second, and frankly Wes and Fred were such a natural and obvious fit that the whole Gunn/Fred thing never felt like anything other than a horribly contrived way of stringing it out (though logically, you can see it leading to the isolated Wes thing, which is where they needed him to go for the story, but that still doesn't make Gunn/Fred any more believable!)

Anyhoo, fave episode of season 3? Gotta be Fredless. I was falling in love with Fred from the start of the season, and this one just cemented it. It's refreshing to have a buffyverse character who actually has a decent family, as well!

Not the best but I just watched Provider, and it was pretty good. Funny for nearly 90% with no non funnies lol then it was sweet and touching near the end ^_^
