Tara was a beautiful, caring, gentle person, who gave Willow the love and support she needed, didn't let anyone walk all over her no matter how shy she seemed at the beginning, and blossomed into an amazing woman. Her time on Buffy inspired many people, and she will always be missed. Willow and Tara forever!

She was probably one of the few characters on the show who wasn't given a ''bad side''. Tara was a generally nice person...Why?! Why do bad things happen to good people?! Take Connor instead!

I voted no because I love Tara and I wouldn't want them to ruin her character and I think what they did in the show was kind of perfect, worked very well.

Anyone who reads my posts, knows i am a HUGE Tara guy.....BUT i too voted No....
Like Epo stated, had she remained on the show, or been brought back, Whedon et al, would eventually got around to her and made her change, and not in a good way.
How she left gave way for the season 6 ender(which i love 'i'd like to test that theory' is my fave line EVER), but more then that, she left, with me and others believing she was a pure soul, a true good guy, not a drop of Evil in her(CWDP strengthened that image).
Yes her death made Kennedy accessible, but i can live with that, simply because, Tara was a great character, and i love her and the fact she wasn't a bad guy.....ever.
Though i would have given a bajillion squillion yen(thats probably about £20---hey i'm not rich....) to See one more AU episode.....with Vamp Willow and Vamp Tara!!!!.....ohhh i think i feel a fanfic idea coming on!!!

i think it would be really hard for joss to try and change tara to be evil? she was the most purest person in the show. i just feel sorry for willow how she couldnt go to her funeral.....grave scene so sad.......
even thought tara did have her own secret at the start ( thinking she was a demmon) after the demmon locator spell i was intreged to what she was up to ( putting it under bed instead of finishing the spell) her family are soooo evil !!!! her brouther with that bum fluff excuse for a beard??????

I also voted no. While I do love the Tara character and found her to be interesting and engaging, it just wouldn't have suited to save her/bring her back.
First of all, it would've probably destroyed the character.
Second, the death of Tara really gave us an interesting storyline with a major show character. We got to see Willow interact with her magic and really continue to grow throughout season seven. If Tara was around, we might not have gotten as much from Willow as we did, with her facing the magic fear and overcoming it to become the 'goddess' at the end of season seven.

thats true but they could have had tara help willow get off magic....well calm down with magic and the best person to help willow become a goddess would be tara not kennady

NO, i believe that is wrong also.
The best person to help Willow become a 'Goddess' is Willow.
Its through Tara's death that Willow is forced into the transition from sdmall time Wicca with major Mojo, to Big Time Witch with control problems, that ultimately lead to Willow accepting her strength and subsequiently her own self esteem.
Tara was a catalyst in this transition, or more to the point, her death was.
Had Tara not died, then Willow would never have gone so deep into the Dark Side, as she was facing and beating her addiction, and its plausible to assume, with Tara back, helping her, she would have surpressed her abilities.
Now, i'm not a Kennedy Fan, but by suggesting that Tara should have lived on, takes away the true power she bestowed upon Willow, eventually.

I don't think she should have been saved either. Her death only mystifies her more. "You don't know what you got till it's gone," sort of applies here, IMO.

I think she was an Angel: the Beacon of Light.

In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there
(Sarah Mc Lachlan)
I feel this is what Tara would want to do for Willow, she was her angel and will always look out for her.

Good grief! Master K, another Geordie here?! Wowee!!
I don't know whether Tara should have lived, though of COURSE when she was originally shot I wanted her to, because then we wouldn't have had the excellent Season 6 ending with evil Willow. I didn't like Kennedy as much as Tara, but she was good for her.
I do, however think it's a shame they couldn't bring Tara back in maybe one more episode, not from the dead, but in the same way they did with Joyce a couple of times, just visions and memories Willow could have had of her maybe.

Well they were supposed to you know, but Amber didn't want to disappint the fans like that. Tara was supposed to be in Conversations With Dead People, but in that case she'd have been The First, so yeah, Amber didn't want the First to take Tara's form..

yeah, kindof split with wanting tara in that episode.....would have been great to see her but.....poor willow....then her turning out to be the first.......might have been too much for willow to handle.....

I loved Tara, not how I love Xander but I love Tara. Her character was very sweet and she was always there for Willow when Willow needed her most. She was into the stuff that Willow was into and you could see those moments when they would smile at one another that everything was perfect and gentle. The perfect couple and love that you thought would last forever. Then unfortunately, that was ripped from her by Warren Mears, which was devastating and one of the most powerful events ever...Seeing Red.
We all miss Tara but she was an amazing character to Buffy that gave Willow and the fans the charm that we needed...

Looking back I think I probably should've voted no. As much as I love the Tara/Willow ship which believe me I do. But I think Tara dying was necessary for the story progressing he needed Willow to go to a really dark place and the only way to achieve that is by killing the one thing in the world she truly cared about. I think it did suck that Willow couldn't go to the funeral or that they didn't even show the funeral. But I do think Willow going to the grave yard was really beautiful and touching. I think it was necessary for her to move on and being able to be a goddess not an evil witch b***h.
