Hurting for cash, the Slayer takes a job at Doublemeat Palace, where her fellow employees don't respond well to her sense of humor. "Levity is a time thief that picks the pocket of the company," explains one co-worker. But it's Buffy's growing concern that something demonic might be going on that really turns her stomach. Also, Anya's old friend Halfrek pays an unexpected visit and questions whether Xander is the right man for her; and Willow tries her best to stay away from magic.

Belated discussion of last weeks episode may now begin!

Last weeks episode was great! I really liked it! I think Willow did awesome resisting the magic even when Amy cast the spell on her! Buffy and her new job seems ok, she needs money somehow, and Anya and her demon friend were hilarious, she just kept asking questions, and Buffy and Spike! omg! that was a bit of a schock..lol Im looking forward to next weeks

I thought this ep was not that great. This "Willow in withdrawal" thing is jsut getting beat to death, and the Buffy-Spike sex in the alley thing was just random and out of place. Didn't even like the big bad of the ep - reminded me of Alien.

I agree with the Buffy/Spike alley scene, just not needed. Anya and her demon friend were just too funny. All in all I loved the episode. I'm really looking forward to the wedding.

I have to agree with Buffy Summers and say that I really didn't care for this ep that much. Even if I had missed it I wouldn't really have missed anything important. And yes that Buffy/Spike scene was very odd and really wasn't necessary. I mean did it look like she was really enjoying it? Not in my opinion. Some parts were good like the whole Anya's demon friend, but other than that not much else. I'm hoping this week's ep will be much better than that one. :)

I enjoyed this episode because of Willow. Alyson did an amazing job showing the subtlties of going through an addiction withdrawl (highlighting an entire page, playing with the straws, repeating "I don't need magic, I don't need magic."). Oh, and was I the only one that wanted to B*TCH-SLAP that Amy??!!! How freakin' selfish of her to tempt Willow like that!! But Willow handled herself. She solved the latest Scooby mystery, saved Buffy and said "buh-bye" to Amy and all without the dark arts. Go Willow!!

I didn't really like this episode. It reminded me a lot of a bad monster of the week episode of The X-Files (One episode in particular comes to mind). It was not a quality Buffy episode. This episode is definitely the weekest of the season. However, there were some good parts. Such as the effects with willow and magic and the humor when xander ate the burger. But that's about it. I hope Dead Things is better.

I agree that the humar was good in some parts but all together the episode wasn't very good at all. Willow's withdrawl is really starting to get on my nerves like some people have mentioned and Buffy and Spike are getting to be used as fillers I think instead of making it something maybe alittle more important.

Okay, for those of you saying that Willow's withdrawls are getting on your nerves.......it's only been three episodes! :D What she's going through is hellacious and won't be summed up nice and sweet in just 2-3 episodes. Please, it's nowhere near as annoying as the whole Phoebe / Cole fiasco on Charmed.

HOWEVER, what really is getting on my nerves is DAWN. I don't recall 15 year olds being that bratty and selfish. Or is it just me?;)

15 year old are extremely selfish. My brother is 15; he thinks everything should go his way and that everyone should do exactly what he says. I really liked "Doublemeat Palace". I work in a fast food restaurant. The way they portrayed the manager is how alot of people I have worked with acts. Like working in a fast food restaurant is supposed to be taken seriously. LOL.

Amen to that!!! Being a die-hard Charmed fan myself, I totally feel your pain. And I also agree about Dawn... ugh.

awwww no way Dawn is the best addition to the cast since they manage to rid the show of OZ and riley.

NO way! Dawn is annoying, so was Riley, in S4 and S5. Oz was really cool though. And Tara was the best add!

I didn't really like the episode either. But it was funny to seeing Buffy wearing her uniform and the hat.

Agreed. Maybe one or two things were funny, but completely stupid episode, and a waste of air time. I really hope Joss had nothing to do with that episode...or was completely drunk if he did.

Well Angel 1.08 "I will Remember You" was definatly worse, all dragging on about this couple that already broke up.

How can you say that "I Will Remember You" was worse? That was classic episode. It really show how Angel really care for Buffy. When he ask the Powers To Be to make him back as a vampire so Buffy won't get kill. That is a very good episode in my own opinion.

But your a B/A shipper, so a little pre-occupied on this one, the problem just is I can't find any bad episodes, than again "Doublemeat Palace" wasn't bad either in my opinion, there are however, episodes that annoyed me, like "I will Remember You"!

but that's an episode of a different show. name an episode of buffy which is worse than 'doublemeat thing'..

'beer bad' comes pretty close, but it's still "better"

Allycat
12-09-2002, 01:52 AM
Yeah, well Buffy or Angel, that's all the same to me, anyway there aren't any bad episode, not even "Doublemeat Palace", but only episodes that annoy you, like the one with Veruca!

Bad Beer...it's like the "Spock's Brain" of the series...

I loved Beer Bad, it had alot of funny stuff in it, especially with Xander, his lines in that epi are underrated! Doublemeat Palace is one of my least fave episodes of season 6 but to me As You Were was worse, all it did was make Riley look better than Buffy. I loved I Will Remember You, I'm not really a B/A shipper but it was classic, they had a great love story.

My fave thing in DMP was the Willow stuff, with her addiction and with telling off Amy, also when Xander eats the burger and they tell him its people. Besides that I wasn't into this epi much
