I am just in the middle of watching Orphus(Again, Such a good episode) And I have to say seeing the interaction between Willow and Fred is so good. The two of them are so funny together, and it really seems like they would be good friends, or more;)
I wish we had gotten to see more interaction between them! Anyone else?

Yeah I think it's a bit weird though lol. I mean I love them together but whoa where did that whole thing come from..? "I'm dating someone" ? Hmm..

Yeah i loved the interaction between them too, They were great together and it would have been interesting to see what kind of a couple they would make, I mean Fred could have been bi, i mean at first glance Fred seems like a dork who does nothing exciting but, we learned that she did pot in an episode.. So who's to say she didn't do some experimenting lol.

Willow and Fred-remember they both had beginnings as brainy nerds. I thought it was perfectly appropriate that it would be Fred who would "summon" the Buffyverse's mightiest witch. And yes, I would have liked to have seen more of them together.

I didnt get the part when they got all close and Willow said "I'm seeing someone." Was Fred like trying to hit on her, coz I didn't notice?

To me it looked like WILLOW was flirting the whole episode, Fred being Fred didn't notice and took it as her being friendly.

lol, Fred wasn't flirting with Willow, she was just really excited to have another dorky science girl there. But Willow, when asked something along the lines of can we get together again (but more geeky) just decided to say "I'm seeing someone".
Besides, the whole time Willow was there she was totally checking Fred out.
But I agree, much more Fred & Willow time would've been nice.

Fred/Willow? Um, no.
But it was fun seeing them interact, I wish Willow coulda stuck around longer.

I prefer the couples that ended up together, Willow and Kennedy, Fred and Wesley, i think that if Fred was to get together with Willow, it would have been to much of a geeky science couple.

I think it showed how well Willow could have slot into Ats, sucked that they didn't get to do that. It was so funny to me that Willow needed to say she was seeing someone 'So Fred, what's her story?' :p I guess that will never happen now because I just don't see Willow and Illyria getting along.

Actually in the Angel Season 6 that never was Joss planned Willow to be sent by Giles to split Fred and Illyria in to two seperate bodies. I imagine if that plan had gone ahead then Willow would have been around for a good few episodes. It would have been fun to see how Goddess Willow interacted with Old One Illyria. I imagine there would be fireworks.
Illyria and Willow together, what'd that be like?:P
Illyria to Willow: I want to have more sex with you.LOL

Oh, I have to agree. Of course, Will is my fave Buffy character (and gorgeous with it) and Fred is my favourite Angel character (and gorgeous with it lol), but still, I was surprised by how much chemistry they had together. (In terms of the "I'm seeing someone" thing, that was TOTALLY from Will, though. I don't think Fred had a clue, but Willow was clearly attracted to her all the way through. Fair enough, too lol).
As to whether it should "really" have happened.. I don't know. I like Wes and Fred. Though if they'd carried on and Wes had still died (and stayed dead) then I would have said yes in a second. Fred was certainly more believable (and had more chemistry and more in common with) a love interest for Will than Kennedy ever was!

Maybe Willow and Illyria will meet up in the new Season 8 somehow. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the plan for Angel Season 6 was to have Willow, or maybe some other magic wielder split Illyria and Fred into two separate entities. That could be interesting. (Imagine Spike coming back to Buffy and bringing Illyria along. What would Buffy's reaction be?)

I read somewhere that, if Angel had lasted another year, there were plans to separate Illyria and Fred into two individuals, thus making it a double role for Amy. Now. in Buffy Season 8, Willow and Kennedy have separated, if only temporarily, and Angel Season 6 is about to start up...Kennedy's not an issue, Wes isn't an issue, Willow could pay a visit to LA, do the mojo, bring Fred back to Scotland with her, and leave Illyria there with Angel. Of course, Spike would go back with Willow too, once he finds out that Buffy and the Immortal aren't an issue and never were. Angel would probably be happy to see him go. Spike and Fred would make welcome additions to the teaching staff at Slayer Central, and we would have the added benefits of willow having someone to love who is worthy of her, and Buffy would most definitely NOT be "missing the sex" anymore. Everybody wins.

willow and fred absolutely do have great chemistry together, that was very obvious in "orpheus". though willow definitely was the one doing the flirting throughout the episode. and poor clueless fred. "so what's her story?"-- you could totally tell willow was checking fred out the whole time. i would have been fully behind that relationship had it ever happened. i truly do wish they would of had more screen time and interactions together. both do come from a similar background with their bookworm, smartypants geekyness.
i think that whole pltline that was planned for angel season 6 would have been really cool. amy acker is definitely talented enough to have played a double role like that. and having aly hannigan crossover or be a recurring character for a while on the show would have been great. maybe they can still do that in the comic (though i doubt they will). but then fred can go over to the buffy comic and willow & fred can be a couple since she and kennedy are broken up for now. it seems highly unlikely, but hey, i can dream can't i? :)

This is giving me all sorts of fan fic ideas....
Are you talking about the episode when Willow came to LA to help get Angel's soul back and met Fred? And then Willow was kind of flirtng with her? LOL! That was one of my favorite funniest parts in Angel! :lmao:
Joss should make a joke comic of "what could have been" using that idea of a couple.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: Willow loved Tara. Not girls, not women, just Tara, a warm, gentle, loving human being. Her sex was not a factor in the equation. Kennedy was a mistake, which seems to have been corrected in Season 8.
If Fred and Willow should be attracted to each other, I believe it would be under the same circumstances as Willow and Tara, and would be just as regardless of gender. It would be two people who share a lot in common loving each other and sharing their lives.
Period.

I kind of thought Willow was flirting with everyone in that episode... and that everyone was flirting with her. I even sort of felt like we were flirting with each other, and I was several years removed and sitting in my living room! Willow had some crazy chemistry going on with Ats: cast, set, and concept included.
Everything was so dark and Freudian at that point in the AtS story that I think Willow, having been down that tunnel herself and come out the other side, was just what that show needed at that point in time. The AtS characters were too hopeless and down-in-the-dumps. Willow provided hope.
All of that said, I would not have minded a Willow/Fred pairing. Oh, who am I kidding? I would have been all aboard the Willow/Fred train. They're both so pretty, sweet, and smart. It would have been cuteness squared. Go, go smart girl power. A Willow/Fred pairing would have rivaled Fred and Gunn or even Willow and Tara on the cuteness meter.

Whedon broke up Willow and Kennedy in S8? F***ing coward. For once Willow had a relationship with someone who possessed a different type of personality that balanced out hers, and he gives in to the moronic fan who are still living in the past over Willow's dull ass relationship with Tara by ending it.

It would have been too f***ing boring. Willow and Fred were too similar. That is why I found Willow's relationship with Tara DULL and Fred's relationship with Wesley a YAWN FEST.

I don't know. I'd like to think Joss would have come up with ways to make it interesting. I never found Tara and Willow dull. I mean, first there was the whole dealing-with-the-gayness thing, then there was Oz, then there was allowing Tara to be accepted by the group, and then there was Glory, and then they butted heads on the magic thing. I found all of that really interesting. I was never bored. So even though they were sweet together and really rather stable (compared to, say, any of Buffy's relationships), I was always entertained by whatever they had going on.
That being the case, I don't think that the fact that Fred and Willow are both intelligent, likable, generally sweet characters (except when it comes to revenge killing) would necessarily mean that Joss wouldn't come up for stories for them that would keep me interested.
To each his own, though. I can see how people might find the pairing boring. There is something to be said for opposite or angsty couples, too.
I always thought they would have been cute together. :)
And yes I have read the fanfiction lol, including a rather interesting Cowgirl themed one we won't go into.

Tara had to be killed off. If she was around in Season 7 she wouldnt have approved of Willow doing the slayer spell in chosen.

I'm sorry, but if any couple were boring, it was Willow and Kennedy. Nothing in common, and zero chemistry. It was almost embarassing.

Kennedy and Willow= Yuck. I always hated Kennedy. Total B****!!
I wasn't a fan of Tara and Willow either. Maybe Tara was just jealous of Willow's growing powers and realised she could never be as good. That's why Tara didn't like Willow using too much magic.
ILLYRIAN

As for Tara not liking Willow doing too much magic, it was the type of magic that Willow was doing. Tara was, and wanted to stay with Wicca. I think her problem with Willow was that Willow was doing magic that was not Wiccan. If Tara hadn't died she would have tried to contain Willow's use of magic, that may have led to the problems of Tara not being a true Wicca.
As for a pairing of Fred and Willow, it could have worked. Would Willow have become Illyria and how would that have worked out ?

Actually... Willow is a lesbian. She's a 'breast' girl remember lol. Well, there's been many references and quotes that blatantly says that Willow is gay.
Hasn't anyone watched the commentary for the episode 'Orpheus'? I can't remember who does it, but they do say that Willow had a crush on Fred, which is why she defensively said out of nowhere "I'm seeing someone", she felt guilty I suppose. So she really was flirting with Fred. ;) Yes I like the idea of something being between the two.
I had to giggle out loud to this comment:
Illyria to Willow: I want to have more sex with you.LOL

Hey! I was happy when they were together. I admit I didnt like Kennedys attitude but Willow was happy again. And Kenndey was different. Not along the usual dating lines of Willow. Oz and Tara were both quiet all the time. And at times they felt awkard with the group. Kennedy was the opposite of that. Spoke her mind. So I do like her for that.

about that comment "illyria: i want to have more sex with you"
it made me think of something I. said about Spike.... I could almost see her saying "I want to keep Willow as my pet."

Illyria would probably be fascinated with Willow's magic... Or against it lol. Who knows.
A new fave coupling! Willow/Fred :) it's nice to favor a different couple...
Lol that reminds me of a Willow/Illyria wedding fanfic I found once. There was a lot of fascination with Willow's magic, and attraction to the remnants of Fred's personality mentioned throughout it.

A wedding huh?? Hmm. Illyria agreeing to such a humanish ritual... Aah maybe she'll do it for luuuurve! ;)
Actually it was a traditional Old One wedding, not a Human one, requiring the Brides Maids to go half dressed or something. So cue Buffy commenting on how the ones from Anya's didn't seem so bad now:lmao:

Haha nice lol.
Buffy: "Suddenly missing the radio-active look right about now."
Faith: "Nah B, I'm digging this look. This is my type of wedding... You look good too!"
Willow: "This is not how I imagine my wedding to be when I was a little girl... And not because I'm not marrying Xander!"
She wasn't in the fic, at least I don't think she was.
Lol, anyway yeah I've been reading Willow/Fred for a while now and it is an easy 'ship to go very "cute" or the other way and be strangely "naughty".
As for the show I haven't seen the particular episode with the two of them yet but have seen all of Buffy and a good bit of Angel and they would be a nice couple. :)
I could see there being a bit too much interest from Fred into Willow's power and the nature of it, not treating her like an outright Lab-rat or anything but still.
Only now with Illyria we'll never know, instead we get Kennedy *sigh*

I was just making up my own scenario lol. Having fun with the thought,
I like Kennedy, but not necessarily her with Willow.
What would we do without fanfiction. :) I wonder if any Willow/Illyria fanart exists?
Google "Funnier In Latin" ;) theres a fanfiction site devoted to quite a bit of Willow/Fred for those who are interested.

I really quite adore the idea of Fred and Willow. "Orpheus" is love because my two favourite female characters from Buffy and Angel had multiple scenes together. There is some marvelous fic out there, for sure.
