So, I was watching the episode Waiting in the Wings and I thought that the Prima Ballerina looked very familiar so I looked it up. According to IMDb, its Summer Glau. I was so shocked. In a good way of course. But, isn't that cool?
Did anyone else notice that?

Yeah, I think there are a couple of other threads that talk about it. :)

Yes I knew that.. I watched that episode before I watched any Firefly/Serenity, when I started with Firefly I thought she looked familiar so I looked it up. I like her in Angel too..

I looked for any threads that talked about this, but I guess they're all in the graveyard...but then again, I'm also not the most observant person in the world (which is why I just now noticed that Summer was on Angel) so I just wanted to know. Thanks. :D

I saw Angel before Firefly so I thought "Thats the ballerina from Angel" when I saw the cast for Firefly :D

Joss also talks about it on the commentary to Waiting in the Wings

I find it kinda of funny, but today on TNT they were showing Waiting In The Wings. I only got to watch part of it though. stupid school starting so early. But when I watched it, I did go, hey. It's River.

And, of course, Summer actually was trained as a ballerina. so that worked well for Waiting in the Wings.
Every time I see the barfight scene in Serenity where Summer kicks over her head, backwards, and around that beam, I think to myself, "Man, there should be more ballerinas doing fight scenes".

When me and my friends (who don't watch Buffy or Angel or Firefly) had seen Serenity I told them about "River" being a ballerina and they weren't surprised at all :)
i read somewhere (think it might have been the UK Buffy/Angel magazine) that Joss considered this ep as Summer's audition for Firefly and hired her without another audition or reading.
