Was anyone displeased with willow ending up with tara and being gay?
I like willow through out all the seasons. And i could careless if willow is gay or not? Though her character grew more when she was with tara. And plus the sweaty spells are a plus

I was indifferent to it when it stated, It didn’t bother me at all, but I quickly grew to love it. They were so cute and Sweet together, both actresses did a fantastic job of playing in love.

I didn't like it simply because I thought Willow would be so cute with either Xander or Oz, and I thought she'd end up with one of them. Before she kissed Tara, anyway. I didn't hate the relationship, but I wasn't into it either.
Although I do kind of hate the idea that she didn't become confident and strong magically until she became a lesbian though, it seemed odd. Making out with the same sex can do that to you?!

She had someone to do magic with (yes I'm talking about the magic kind of magic), they did spells together and stuff. (Why can't I get this to not sound dirty?)
Seriously though, Tara was a wicca as well, they practiced magic together which I think made Willow a lot better, etc.
1-800-Willow-Rosenberg agrees: lol can't get it to not sound dirty i wonder if their sweaty spell had anything to do with that
Hehe I know. Magic was usually instead of steamy sex scenes (when it comes to them) :P
But I'm really talking about the magic here dammit! :D

i knew before i started watching that they would end up together, because id heard a lot about it beforehand, so i was pretty accepting of it from the start cause i was expecting it. even so, i thought it was a very sweet relationship, "steamy" scenes aside.

I think Willow and Tara are a great couple, they seem to make each other complete, and they really go well together, I already knew they were gonna be a couple, since I only start watching BTVS a year ago, so I heard a lot about it before hand, when I first heard of it, I didn't think they'd go well together, but they were such a cute couple.

I always just thought it was because Tara and Willow had a magical sort of bond which helped her developed her power...or they developed together feeding off each other's strengths and stuff.

How come Tara & Willow never had any actual steamy scenes, but Kennedy & Willow had the whole tongue ring thing in Season 7? That's weird..

There were lots of people on various newsgroups who were (and still are) upset. Personally, Willow & Tara turned into my favorite couple very quickly.

I liked Willow and Tara. For one thing, it was a realistic depiction of a gay relationship without oodles of stereotypes and the like.
The thing I DIDN'T like was the insistence on the part of Joss and the writers that she was gay. I never really saw Willow as gay. Bisexual, obviously. But I don't know about 100% gay.
Firstly, I mean, making Willow suddenly gay seems to invalidate her various male relationships over the course of the first three and a half seasons. Suddenly, her crush on Xander and her relationship with Oz just seem...less. Falling in love with Tara wasn't something she expected, it was an accident. I believe that her love for those men was real, as was her attraction to them, and even beyond New Moon Rising I can easily imagine a future for Oz and Willow.
Anyway, that's my rant. I like Willow and Tara. Really, I do.
Death to Kennedy,though.

Because Joss and everyone else knew that it would be degrading to the character and relationship. Tara and Willow had a very wholesome relationship. Or at least in my eyes. Sure they had to have...
Anyway, I know Joss had more respect for Tara than Kennedy just because of how he played the relationships out.

Uh, I say Xander's dream in Restless (okay, so he was dreaming but that had reasonable steam) and also the end of "Under Your Spell" in Once More With Feeling (possibly overdramatic but we all know where that was going!).
But anyway....it doesn't really make as much sense for Tara and Willow to be all steam because that's not where they were as people. Together they were nice (not that there is anything wrong with nice).
Then Willow turned all dark and then reformed but she's now hardened. Kennedy's fiesty and fiery. It seems more natural for them as a couple to have steam as opposed to Willow and Tara.

Well, society also changes a lot, I guess showing lesbian stuff on TV becomes more and more okay? The Willow/Kennedy kind of sex scene was still kind of... uncommon.. when it aired. Would have been even more so a few years earlier I guess..? I'm just speculating..

Tara and Willow were a beautiful couple. I think of them as a couple to aspire to. I didn't like Kennedy cause she was just too...there are alot of words I could use so I will just leave the dots.
I agree that they should not have made Willow 100% gay because she did have real love for Oz, and Xander, unless she only thought it was love because she didn't realize she liked girls. And then Tara comes along and she realizes all along that with her, it is real love and she has figured it out and that's where she is now. She has found herself.
Ah who knows. Still love it.

Maybe, Willow being "100%" gay kind of forces a distinct definition? Sure, they/she could have said she was bisexual but then that creates too much of a blurred line so it was straight out "I like girls now" kind of deal.
Did that even make any sense? Lol.
What if they bring Oz back? He's not dead, and no matter what ex's will have some sort of emotional impact on your life is they suddenly return to it.

Joss always says that the "you make me come.. plete" scene in OMWF is the sexiest scene he's ever made ;)
Anyhows, I can see how Willow – having made such a big change in her life – would want to identify as lesbian rather than bi. Sure she had feelings for guys before, but she now feels that girls (or girl) are what's right for her, hence wanting to identify as gay.

series shows these days keep getting braver and braver with sexuality. maybe joss just got more ballsy with the willow/kennedy relationship. besides i always saw tara/willow as a kind of innocent couple. even though they were definitely hot and sexy haha

I can see that - ESPECIALLY considering the argument that Willow and Tara had at the end of Season 5 (whether or not Willow liking girls was just a "phase"). I think I would personally still classify her as more biseuxal rather than gay, though.

As I see it you can't "be" straight or gay etc., in my opinion you choose what to identify as, depending on how you feel. Willow might very well be able to fall for a guy again, but she feels that she is gay at this point, and she chooses to identify as such. And imo she has every right to make that choice, whether we think she's able to fall for guys or not :)

I gotta say, Willow will always be great, whether gay or straight (wow, a rhyme). I guess I'm glad she's a lesbian, because she and Tara are really cut together (in my opinion, anyway). Oz had left before Willow even met Tara, and Xander was with Anya for pretty much the rest of the series, so she wouldn't have been with either of them anyway. Willow and Tara are my favorite couple in the series, so maybe that clouds my opinion, but Willow being gay= Willow and Tara= :-)

They were so great for each other, and again, the sweetness factor?

Yeah they're really sweet! In season six when they make up, Tara's speech xD and then in the end she's like: Can't we just skip all that? Can't you just be kissing me right now?
But I have to admit that I'd rather see Willow with Oz, I loved them the first time when he was walking around talking to him self "Who is that girl?" until the end!

When I actually starting watching Buffy they were together (as was Xander and Anya). I automatically loved them. They always seemed so in love and so adorable. There really wasn't an overdose of 'woe is me' or angst to them, they were actually happy. All in all, 2nd favorite couple. Love 'em!

Well, when I at first heard that Willow turned gay( it was some time before I saw the episodes), I was a little confused and really didn't know what to think about it.
But when I watched season 4 and saw her with Tara I thought they were great together. And soon they became my second favourite couple in Buffyverse:)

Since I watched all the episodes on DVD after the show aired, I knew Willow was going to become gay pretty much from the start. At first, I was kind of confused about it, and, once she got together with Oz, I was scared. I loved Willow and Oz, after all. But after, oh, two episodes with Willow and Tara together, they were my favorite Buffyverse couple. They seemed so genuine, and, unlike pretty much all of the other Buffy romances, they weren't all angst and tears. So, yeah. Tillow is the best.

I absolutely love Tillow. The choice to have my fave character come out as a gay woman really made me happy and was easily the best thing I can say about S4 (which I never really liked and, to this date, haven't watched in its entirety).
Tara & Willow, to me, are easily THE best couple in the Buffyverse. I found myself arranging with Oz/Willow, and I liked Xander/Willow much better in the ol' days of S1/2 when I pretty much constantly went "holy cr*p, is this guy blind or what?" than when it actually came to pass in S3... But Tillow, it just seemed so right from the beginning. Besides, what would S6 be without that painful spiralling down of Willow, leading me to watch in pain the worsening, breakup, and reconciliation brutally cut short by Warren's bullet, all of this happening to the basically most stably enduring and endearing coupling we saw? To me, Tillow was S6.
