We all know that Spike loved Buffy. Drusilla even knew that he loved her...so my question is...if Spike had really had the chance to kill Buffy in 'out of my mind' do you think he would have? Or do you think he would have sired her and hope she would become his after doing so? Or do you think he would have chickend out and let her live?

He wouldnt have killed her. No way. If she wasnt sitting on her porch crying he would have got into the house and by the time he saw her he'd not be able to go through with it.

Ah, sorry, I thought it was the one where he went to kill her with the shotgun.

Then yes, i believe he would have.

No he wouldn't have killed Buffy. Spike loved Buffy so much that he would have caved in before harming her.

Definetly, no question. If had been in season 6 I would have questioned it.But since it's in season 5, I think he would have gone through with it.

If he could attempt to rape her, he could have tried to kill her in season 5!

I think Spike would have seen turning her as some huge romantic gesture that would bite him in the ass like his act of love in turning his mother.

I think he would have gone through with it.

Not to get into a huge debate about if a demon can love without a soul, but I don't think Spike loved her in Season 5. I think he was obsessed with her, and isn't the general consensus that if a person can't have their obsession they kill it? Isn't that how most of the horror flicks work ;)

Spike didn't love Buffy in 'Out of my Mind' but he was definitely getting to the point of obsession.
i think he would have killed her at this point, if he had the opportunity, but i'm not sure about siring her. he would have just got off on the fact that he'd killed another Slayer.

He would have... definetly... didn't you see him on her like that? He was right at her neck when the chip was activated...

Nah, even if he really didn't realize that he loved her at the time he would have had far too much fun fighting with her. She's his best competitor...at most her would have tried to turn her. Worse, I know, but Spike doesn't always think things through. He seems to run on impulsivity.

Well he did go in to bite her. Spike was willing to make Willow a vampire in season four, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to sire her if he managed to kill Buffy.

Easy if it was in the second season hewould have killed her without thinking about it, i think maybe after season when killing Buffy became an obseasion of his that when he statred to see that he didnt want to kill her it was that he loved Buffy.

I totally thought he was gonna get his chip out. And I totally thought he'd manage to at least bite her. I thought he wanted her dead, dead, dead.

The problem with that, of course, is that he seemed to like her. I'm not talking about love or obsession here. We all know how he is. He liked things vamps aren't supposed to like: alcohol, bloomin' onions, chicken wings, hot chocolate, football players, Drusilla... hmm. I'm noticing a pattern here. He likes things he can eat. He's a vampire, so he could eat the Manchester United team if he wanted. Crap. See, I was gonna say he liked things and "people" and maybe he would have refrained from killing Buffy just for the sheer joy of continuing to fight her. But now that I listed all of the things he likes, I definitely think he would have bitten her and drained her.

So, yeah. I think he woulda killed her.

If he had the chip out he would definitly have killed her. He didnt realize he LOVED her until the end of that episode

:lmao: If you hadn't been the last one I karmafied, that line would have gotten you some more!

Anyway, I agree that at that point in his character development he would just have killed her, and possibly ditch Harmony and go back to Dru all "got me bloody problems solved, now come back to me".

He would DEFINETLY have killed her. It wasnt even until the end of that show he had the dream that made him realize he 'maybe' loved Buffy. Plus, the obvious reason that he's an evil vampire.

I don't think he would have...
Willy's a DORK for thinking that somehow a switch went on at the end of the episode. He may have just REALIZED he loved her but that doesn't mean that he just started at that moment.
I think it just would have hit him a few hours quicker if he had tried!

Ok Dlou, i actually said 'it wasnt until the end of the show he REALIZED he may be in love with her'. I didnt say it was that exact moment he suddenly fell in love with her...
And also, watch the episode, its kind obvious he was gonna kill her. He tried to bite her neck but the chip activated, so obviously he would have killed her if he could have.

Doesn't mean he would have actually KILLED her, I think he'd have started, but then stopped.

What possible reason would he start and then stop.(please dont say 'coz he loved her')

All right, you two. I'm calling a moratorium on snarking. Knock it off. :p

I just think he'd have realized while biting that he loved her instead of noticing a few hours later.
She'd start crying, he'd stop and get all mushy....like he does in Fool For Love.

He didn't love her, yet, but he was definately deep into obsession. Which in my opinion is far more dangerous because it can turn into something nasty so very quickly.
In this I mean, yes he was out to kill her (which is nasty in itself, of coure) but it could have easily turned into a realisation that if he killed her outright, his obsession would be gone forever, leaving an emptiness in its place.
He would never have chickened out at this point, but it's a toss-up whether he would have sired her to keep the obsession going and transforming it into something more sinister adding an element of control over her or he would have killed her and then beat himself up about it forever (or at least until he found a new obsession).

For some reason, this was what I thought when I read the title of this thread:

http://i35.tinypic.com/2me7jx1.jpg

Anyway, I have a feeling Spike would have turned Buffy; his obsession with her at that time could sort of be compared to Angelus' obsession with Drusilla, and likewise, I can assume that he'd make her a vampire. Besides, Spike would probably see her as a reminder of his long sought after victory.

i'm a huge buffy/spike shipper, but i have to admit that i think that in that instance, he would have killed her. he was obsessed with her and obsessed with killing her because he got off on killing slayers. killing buffy would have been the ultimate erotic encounter for him. i think that it wasn't until later that he realized that his obsession went deeper than lust.

No, I don't think he would have killed her. He would subconsciously let her go, but make it look like he tried to kill her
