I'm currently watching Selfless (the Anya episode in season 7 for those of you who dont know) and I noticed something.

When D'Hoffryn comes to Aud and convinces her to become a vengence demon, he tells her the job is doing vengence for wronged women. Fair enough. This is what we've known about Anya since The Wish.

However in another episode (I think it may have been Older and Far Away), Halfrek tell someone (I cant remember who) that vengence demons do vengence for other people too. For example, HAlfrek helps children. And in Entropy she tells Anya that she should try moving on from just helping women.

So which is it? A vengence demon for anyone or just for wronged women?

Yeah, it just sounded to me like that was all they did. Which did strike me as odd, since after all, D'hoffryn is male himself. Although he did say to Anya that all men deserved it.

Heh yeah plus he's male, though not exactly a man.

The strange part though, is that Anya obviously got the job to vengence for wronged women. So when Halfrek tell her she shouldn't only do that, that's asking her to do what's not her job..

I think 'Justice Demons can do vengence for anyone, but Anya got into the gig because she was wronged by a male...so she just carried on her line of work :)

Yeah but thats the problem.

Hallie says they prefer justice demons and makes it sound like Anya chose hurting males.

But we know that D'Hoffryn told her thats what she'd be doing and said they were vengence demons.
