Since no one has started a discussion thread for this episode I guess I will.
Another take on "meet the parents". Not the greatest episode, imo. So just how dysfunctional is Ted's family if his parents can't tell their children about a divorce for the better part of a year? And if Ted can't talk to his (philandering) dad about anything except baseball?
Abrupt turnaround for Robin, from "I'm not ready to get married or to have kids" to "why am I not fit to have Ted's kids?" Barney was totally self-aggrandizing, no surprise there.
I found Lily and Marshall only a little bit funny, in spite of AH's considerable experience with the oversexed antics from her "American Pie" movies. That bit about her "boobs" did remind me of her Vampire Willow outfit - ("Gosh look at those!")
