Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris can both be very funny. Maybe it was only a matter of time before their characters got put together as a couple to play off of each other. Given that Lily and Marshall are apart at this juncture, the opportunity presented itself.
Finally, we get to see a crummy apartment in NYC! Granted, Lily's new place was kind of exaggerated, but no kidding, spacious multiroom apartments are hard to come by or to afford in NYC. I've had single friends in the city who were living in spaces that looked like some cross between a hallway section and a closet. So far they haven't told us if she even has a job yet. Funny indeed to see her take refuge at Barney's place.
I didn't find the Marshall-Brad-hints-of-gay story too funny. I think that stuff is kind of old.
