In keeping with our weekly rediscovery of our beloved show.... continue now with episode five of season one.
Never Kill a Boy on the First Date
I think my favorite part of this episode has got to be the famous line:
"If the apocalypse comes, beep me!" :)
Thoughts? Comments? A bright shiny nickel for all who respond!

Crap. I haven't seen this episode in... well, a LONG time.
I recall it is a pretty funny episode... I think. I love how Angel keeps bugging them on their date... or something like that. And how Giles keeps trying to convince Buffy that something's going to happen and Buffy won't believe him... bleh. Need to go watch this.

yeah, i think there were lots of funny bits in this one. i'll go find one and quote it to draw the masses into our seemingly under-the-radar discussions. some of the first three i found:
GILES: Buffy, while the mere fact of you wanting to check out a book would be grounds for a national holiday, I think we should focus on the problem at hand.
XANDER: So, Buffy, how'd the slaying go last night?
BUFFY: Xander!
XANDER: I mean...how'd the laying go? No, I don't mean that either.
GILES: Alright, I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophecy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.
BUFFY: Okay, at this point you're abusing sarcasm.
i think this ep kind of set some of the tone for btvs. it was the first one that mainly addressed how hard it is to maintain a relationship on a hellmouth.
i love the looks Angel gives to Buffy when she's introducing him to Owen. i know i'm a Spuffy, but damn, that was funny. lol
i also loved the part in the cafeteria, when Cordelia asks Owen to the Bronze, and he asks 'who's gonna be there?' and Cordelia's like, 'Besides me?' and when he asks Buffy if she's going and Cordy says something like 'Oh, she doesn't like...fun' lol
this ep isn't great as far as storylines go, but it has some REALLY funny moments!

so...what did you guys think of the anointed one when you found out it was the kid? do you think it was effective that it was a kid? did it surprise you? did you predict it? come on people! a discussion group isn't for making deviled eggs!

But I like deviled eggs!
I didn't see it comin... that it would be a kid. It was an interesting twist. He was cute at first, but then in later episodes, became very annoying!
