How do you feel about the Buffybot?

I know I enjoyed it's scenes. Funny stuff. As with so many things, it's something only Joss and his crew could've pulled off.

I love her (it? er... I'll just call it ((her?)) her)! She's funny and I think SMG pulled Buffybot off well. I liked her appearances in Bargaining parts 1 & 2 better, since she wasn't onto Spike anymore, and she was much funnier and had a bigger part, because I hated Buffybot around Spike. That was just sick. And she was much funnier and had a bigger part in s6. But anyway, yeah, I really liked her.

yea the Buffybot was well cool and was really funny.i liked her more in seson 6 as it got a bigger part and you got to see more of her character.

I liked her much better than regular Buffy. I really dislike Buffy. Annoying, whiny and miserable (dont get me wrong, I understand why, I just dont like her) but Buffybot was the complete opposite. Everything Buffy wasnt. Cute, happy, funny, and totally in love with Spike. Whats not to like?

Buffybot was a cute twist. It was an innocent way to show all this passionate kisses and half-naked Spike with quasi Buffy, letting a real buffy ask questions like: who -is-watting-what-where?

Buffybot was hilarious! And when she first arrived and was actaully meeting the gang for the first time, she killed me! (The scene when Willow is talking to her thinking it's the real Buffy and then it goes into what Buffybot is seeing when she looks at people. I don't remember the episode, though, but it was very funny!)

I was also very impressed with SMG's acting when she was the robot. She was so happy (like a creepy happy!).

And I really thought the B-bot came in handy in season 5 and in other Buffy related things (i.e. the comics).

She was very funny and I almost cried when she died in season 6. :(

When I heard about the concept of the Buffybot before watching the series, I thought it was cheesy, lame and stupid.

The Buffybot was also a terrific idea on another level. By the point in Season 5 when she is introdced, every single character is depressed about one thing or another. The Buffybot completely lifted the mood. It was so wierd to see SMG grieving and barley coping in one scene, and then acting insanely happy in the next. It really hilighted how Buffy was feeling. Plus, it allowed for "Hello Anya, how is your money?"!

The BuffyBot also made me fall in writer love with Spike. Don't get me wrong; I was absolutely disgusted by the fact that he ordered a man-made Stepford Buffy toy and then had sex with it -- publicly. Eww. Just eww. But in the same episode in which the public BuffyBot sex is discovered, he endures torture for the real Buffy and her sister. Both actions were completely in character. One was repulsive and selfish. The other was selfless and full of love. My jaw dropped. I looked at my best friend and said something along the lines of, "What an amazingly complex character!"

I still think one of the most telltale signs of Spikes growth as a character was when the Buffybot in Bargaining said something about Spike (I can't remember what... one of the old lines from when Buffybot was first created) and he says to Willow something along the lines of "I thought you programmed that out of her". It was such a lovely sign of his real admiration as Buffy as a real person, and it showed remorse for something he had done.

And of course when Buffy dresses as the Buffybot after Spike has just protected Dawn and kisses Spike for the first time (not under a spell). Weirdly enough something that was disrespectfully done initially was such a huge part of their progression towards their true feelings for each other.

I also have to admit that when I see the Buffybot on screen I don't see her as Sarah Michelle Gellar or Buffy, but as the Buffybot. Much respect to SMG for pulling it off.

Imo, Spike orders Willow to program the i-love-you-spike lines out not because he now respects Buff as a person, but because it just hurts him too bad to hear that now Buffy is dead. You can tell he's having a hard time only seeing the bot that looks just like her, so when she tells him she wants him etc. it's just too much to bear.

The Buffybot was excellent! The relationship between Spike and that Buffybot was hilarious, expecially when others were around. She had the same sort of clueless humor that Anya did, but Boffybot's was also naive and innocent because she didn't know that she didn't understand things, and so in a way funnier. I love the scene where Buffy pretends to be Buffybot in order to get info from Spike. Sooo cute.

The Buffybot is what awesome is made of. Seriously ne of the best ideas Joss could ever of had. And I agree with everyone that is was one of SMG's finest hours as an actor, to say she pulled it off brilliantly would be an understatement. Intervention is one of my top favorites eps, I mean it has it all, Buffybot, Buffybot and Spike, Spike messing with Glory's head, the very first Spuffy kiss (real kiss, not under a spell) and most importantly Giles doing the hokie pokie :lmao: ... but I digress, oh yeah freaking LOVE the Buffybot!

The Bot's so funny. I kind of wish she would have stayed to keep season 6 a little lighter. She does bring out what Spike really wants from Buffy, though. If she was just sex then you could say that's all he wants from Buffy. But she's programmed to be Buffy. She slays, she knows her friends, it shows that Spike wants Buffy. The Buffy bot is, obviously not Buffy, but at that point I think he was going to take was he could get.

The Buffybot was funny but I was glad they kept her scenes to a minimum. It was just so weird to see "Buffy" acting and talking like that, but I admit it was a nice breath of fresh air. Agreed. :) I thought the BuffyBot was fantastic! The way everything she said sounded rehearsed and deeply dramatic made all of her lines sound incredibly humorous. Really, any scene with her taking place was just awesome. I especially loved the Spike scenes, and I loved it when the real Buffy was pretending to be the bot. It was just so romantic... :kissie:

I also loved Season 6 BuffyBot. It was sort of sweet, sort of sad how Spike was rejecting her love. It was like our wittle Spikey was all grown up. Only maybe not so little. :whistle:

Very true. She was very good in "Intervention". That was the episode, right? Actually, that whole episdoe is one of my favorites....
Anyone notice how the BuffyBot is totally going down on Spike in that one scene when they cut in? Whoo-ee. Just noticed that last night. Can't believe they got that on network television...
