Does anyone else think it kind of funny that these seemingly all powerful beings, going by Illirya's description, were to the Old ones nothing more then low level demons.

It's been a while since I've seen that episode, but I thought it was saying that they USED to be minor demons, but that their power grew and now they're extremely powerful?

I wrote a fanfic one time where the Senior Partners were originally the bureaucrats, and minor administrators of the demon world, but after the wars for earthly reality, described in Fray, power vacuums were created when the demon powers of the time were put down. Laws and regulations were created to restore order, and the Senior Partners were able to exploit these to garner power. Much as a weasly lawyer like say Saddam Hussein, or a minor bureacrat like Stalin gained power.
