View Full Version : New way to earn house points!

We have decided to add a new way for people to earn house points, much in the style of Hogwarts, the Mods will be able to give out house points when we see members good behaviour.

Such as if we see a member make a good post in a discussion, they will be given a certain amount of House points, in the form of Karma, or if they are helpful to other members. You will receive Karma telling you your house has received 'such and such' house points. The points will not be added to the scoreboard immediately, but we will be adding all the points gathered over two weeks at the same time, just to save us having to constantly changing the scoreboard.

So if anyone has any questions just ask them here :)

So what happens to the points scored by us non-house joining loner rebel types?

I think that we should have a score board of our own, dammit! :p

Oh that's cool, especially for those who haven't really had the time to do things to compete in the house cup competitions. Myself being one of them :)

Arcane, you should join a house it's really good :) Obviously you don't have too.

Oh, that's just been what I've been like since I was at school. I never wanted to join any of the groups or teams but I was always happy to start my own thing and let other people join in with that.

So much easier to run things when you have started it yourself, hehe! :D

Hey, can I do that here??!!?? The Spike Non-House for Rebels, Loners and Nonconformists! ;)

Ooh, I like the sound of that club...

Hey! My first non-member! Welcome to the first (and likely only) group that is impossible to join because the second that you do it's entire premise becomes redundant! :D

By joining wouldn't you be conforming to non conforming? It kind of ruins the whole point.

Hence Goldenboys wonderfully placed "Ooh, I like the sound of that oxymoron" post.
It's ok Jess, you'll understand this world one day:)

LOL, yep, kinda the point of my last point, which was also the point of what BotD previously pointed out.

Pointy! :)

Hey even outsider/loner types need other outsider/loner types...... that's why I married my husband. Otherwise they would just be REALLY odd and end up as unibombers or serial killers. Is there something you're not telling us?

Just went over the list of Karma for January. And 5 house points were awarded to
Miffed - Drogyn
Spirit_of_Fred - Raiden

I'll be adding them now to the Big Board (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=27292)!

Do you like Harry Potter? BB's houses are like HP's. They are groups of people.

There are four houses: Raiden, Drogyn, Merrick, Vahla Ha'nesh. To be sorted into a house you have to post here: The Sorting Tome (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=18277).

And you should also read the BB School Code of Conduct (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=17673) and this: The Dorm Award (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=27292).

Hope that helped ;).

Ooo ok, thanks a lot :)

Yeah, who doesn't like Harry Potter? ;) But I'm not a really really big obsessed kind of fan like I'am with Buffy things.

You don't have to be. A house is like a secret hangout where you can talk to other members of the house about anything. The people in houses together are usually closer, its a good way to make friends if you're new. So go get a house, and hope you get Drogyn... cuz it's pretty much the coolest... and bluest :)

Any chance people could win points for playing any of the games people have created in the Slaying practice forum ?
It would spice up the games, and more people would join in :)

Is there BAD behavior? I haven't seen anyone get all that cranky. Certainly not mean. Am I missing the cranky posts? Do we keep those people chained in the basement or something?

Angels baby101

I doubt there will be points for posting in game threads GG

Only because the house points are meant to be challeging to recieve... you get them by the competitions and if you make a wonderful post expressing the perfect point or whatever you get points...

I mean the points are easy to get in a way but not so easy that they are handed out

Plus games are not something we're really looking to encourage posting in lol

Cool, but they are fun. Are you going to do the cute give karma to the person to show them how they won the awesome points for their house, so they know what to do and what not to do ?

Such as if we see a member make a good post in a discussion, they will be given a certain amount of House points, in the form of Karma, or if they are helpful to other members. You will receive Karma telling you your house has received 'such and such' house points. So if anyone has any questions just ask them here

The Big Board is here - The Dorm Award - Buffy-Boards (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=27292) - but it doesn't show individual scores, just totals.

Edit - it doesn't seem to have been updated since last year. I guess BEG will be on to that soon.

Black Eye Guy
01-22-2008, 09:15 PM
Yeah I figured since the award will be with the Buffies I'll update it after them.

And you can check who won the points in the games threads, the only thing there isn't a visable record of (except for the originals) are the points for Karma, and it would be a little to much to keep track of all them! lol
