Ok So we have moved on now. Make sure to note that we are all back together (For the moment) in England, And also for the moment We have decided to cut down the cast a little, So we have lost Oz, Nina and Connor just cuz we wanted to cut down on people doubleing up. (And our cast was huge! lol)

We're gonna side track from our current storyline for a little while and will be starting something new soon, so We'll leave a few days for people to get posting again, before we move on, (Basically just socialise, for the moment, lol) And everyone should post just so we can be sure everyone is still playing

Hey everybody, I just wanted to say how sorry I was for leaving ya'll without any word. I've been pretty sick these last few months, and haven't been at a comp pretty much at all, what with being away from home taking care of things. I plan on getting a chance to read what has happened since I left, and to see what has been going on with Faith since then. I don't know if she's been re-cast yet or not, but if she hasn't, I'd like to be able to play again.

::Gunn stood in the alley, helpless to stop the girl from exiting. It took him a few seconds to process what had just laid out right in front of him. Not only had he discovered a new slayer, but she had no idea what the hell a slayer was. And above that, she had even gone as far as playing the helpless victim in order to kill the vampire. From that, he came to the conclusion that not only did she enjoy the kill, but she took great pleasure in planning the kill as well.

::Gunn was so busy contemplating what the hell had just happened in the alley outside the club that he hadn't realized that he had made his way back to camp. When he got to the tree, mind still focused on Tatum, he had nearly bumped into Willow as he tried to enter. Realizing within seconds of knocking into the redhead what was about to happen, he stopped himself by sidestepping her walking into him. He wondered how much of a klutz he looked like as he began to talk to her.::

Willow: "Okay, you never told me there were still slayers around here running around and killing vampires that we didn't know about. And-and how could she not know who she was? And does she simply just enjoy killing vamps because I got to tell you that girl wanted more than just killing the vamp. She planned it. Most slayers kill the vamp and get over it. She just..didn't."

::Gunn paused, catching his breath. He shook his head, realizing how insane he must be sounding.::

Willow: "What the hell is going on?"

Yep we are still in the Information hub of slayer central, the smallest of the training camps. Basically people already have small storys going, so the new guys can just explore the building.

Also you should look at the post lenghts of the last two pages, thats about what we want for each post, I know you need small ones to get started, ut it's so much better when you get longer post and get descriptive!

Just a note about how Gategod and palabravampiress posted their last posts as one, that isn't how we usually do things, I'm gonna let them do it this time cuz there’s no point in deleting it again. They each wrote their characters parts.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think it's much better if what each person is saying goes under that person, it makes it an RPG, posting as one post makes it FanFic, I know it saved posting a bunch of comments, but you guys would have had to do that anyway by PM.

I deleted the note you put at the end of the post, as all Out of character post are to be made in this thread as they disrupt the flow of the characters speaking.

it's not a problem, sorry what I meant was that we didn't want people just coming in and posting short replies but if your having a conversation, that’s alright cuz there’s nothing you can really do.

A good way to do conversations is to post a few things at once and then the replies can be made with quoting. Cause one sentence each back and forth gets tiring lol

I think you're supposed to post in the Away (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=21669)thread so that we know to cover your character. I think maybe the mods cover your character? I'm not sure how that works.

I've got a question, guys. The last post, posted by sk8rj04, says "Delete this post" at the top. It was also edited, and the edit notes say there was an accidental double post. Was the part that needed to be deleted already deleted, or does the post still need to be deleted?

I ask because Gunn addresses my character directly and I need to know whether or not I should respond. If I respond and the post ends up being deleted, that could mess some stuff up. On the other hand, if I don't respond and the post ends up standing, then I just delay the game.

THEN, he went on to post a seperate post as Gunn, but, because of the rules of this board, the posts were merged.

so, really, all you need to do is reply to the post as you normally would, and either BEG or Buffy Summers will edit the post to get rid of the 'delete this post' part. :)

Roughly what time is it in the RPG?

I get that it's nighttime. For one thing, Spike and Raven are out fighting something, so it can't be daytime. It also seems to be getting pretty late, as everyone keeps straggling in from their various outings, but that could also be because Black Eye Guy asked us to bring our characters back for a Scooby meeting. I'm just curious. I'm trying to figure out whether Xander should be tired right about now. He's in his room, so I might try to get him some shut-eye before a morning Scooby meeting. If the meeting is about to start any minute, though, that wouldn't make sense.

If your character is still asleep and my character is still in his room when the meeting starts, I'll have him stop by Gwen's room to wake her up. Our characters haven't interacted yet, anyway, so that should be a good excuse.

Id say it's late, but to be honest I have lost track of what time it would be. I have everyone go to bed after this little storyline and then go to the meeting.

So about this fight, I've set everyone up with something to fight, or turned you evil for awhile :D
So just go with it, whatever I threw at you you have complete control over, so you can fight it and post it.
Anyone thats been turned can just fight the normal characters.

Cool, glad you liked.

Basically use this time to get control over your character, use this time to get used to talking for them and making them do things, make sure to be descriptive, your in a fight so it's easy, and then when we move on, bring that descriptiveness with you. you could be standing still and still go on for 8 paragraphs with what your character is thinking, facial expressions or things happening around you, remember longer is better :)

Have the demons heal, so you can fight em for awhile, move around fight anything you like, the thing can change forms so play on that, have fun with it.

Obviously this storyline isn't going to go on for ages, it was just to get people back into play mode, and to get people to not be afraid to make decisions for your character, and for the things your fighting so your not always waiting for instructions.

Don’t forget if you have any major things you would like to have your character go through PM me with what you'd like to do and we can discuss it, or if you want to suggest possible storylines that would be brilliant, PM away

If you ran into the hall: you'd have to ask Lyri if she needs your help, but Gwen is in the hall fighting with a bunch of slayers. I think Willow might be there, too.

If you ran into the dining room: Gunn is in there fighting Harmony. That could be kind of neat, if JC didn't mind you helping.

Umm... if you went back into the kitchen, you could be involved in the Sam/Riley fight. They are fighting over Faith, after all, so that could work nicely.

And if you could make it to the infirmary, (next to the training room) Amy just popped in to help the very injured Xander and Dawn, so you could interact with Amy (I don't think I've seen you guys interact yet) as well as play off the jealous, hateful vibes Dawn has been sending Faith's way lately.

EDIT: I think those are all of the currently active characters, although you could call for backup from Spike (who was last seen patrolling with Raven) or Buffy (who was last seen hiding in her room).

yeah, i was thinking about that, and whether she'd recognize her, when i posted. this was my reasoning: first, even though she and buffy were kind of friends, they didnt hang out THAT much. she hung out with willow a lot more, but willow didnt know buffy earlier on, and then later, willow and amy hung out less, probably since willow was now so close to buffy. well, they hung out more once she was de-ratted, but then joyce was dead. second, she did see her in 'gingerbread', but there were a ton of other parents, and im not sure joyce would stand out quite so much to her, since she probably hadnt known her well in the past, or at least any better than most of the parents. and third, she's kind of face down with an axe in her head, which would make her hard to recognize, even if amy did know her a LITTLE bit. sorry if im being annoying; just showing why i said that since you brought it up.

The bottom of Lyri's post sort of hit the fast forward button, but Xander was waiting for Gunn to reply to a question. So I guess I'm wondering where Xander stands on the timeline. Is he still waiting, or did he fast forward to bed time with everyone else? I'm pretty sure he fast forwarded, but if that's the case, then I'm not sure how we deal with the loose end.

That's okay, Lyri. It's not a huge deal. It was just something sort of dumb - Xander asked Gunn if he wanted help to the infirmary. We can gloss over that without causing any trouble and then in JC's next post, maybe just have him mention whether or not he accepted Xander's help.

It is so rare to see a back-from-the-dead story that actually works! It's a little easier in the Buffyverse. I mean, stuff like that happens all the time in the Buffyverse. But in general, resurrection stories suck. I took them with a grain of salt on Buffy as well as on soaps. I actually thought Darla's resurrection and Spike's resurrection were both really tacky. Come to think of it, I didn't like Angel's, either. Hmm. I guess I only liked Buffy's. Don't get me wrong. I liked the stories that resulted from the back-from-the-dead gimmicks, but I hated the way each character was brought back.

I think Faith is just gunna sit and look bored until she's needed, the only other thing I can think of since Buffy/Angel weren't there is she'd trie to take charge, but this time in the story I don't think she's up to it or wants it So I think she'll just sit and wait. Sounds alright until she's needed, cool? Just make sure she's needed eventually or she might get bored to death and walk out :lmao:

It's not just Faith. I think we've all got to wait until Riley, Sam, or Willow tell us what we're supposed to do about the situation in Nepal. Xander's throwing ideas out, but no one's latching onto any of them in order to say anything definite.

I think Xander's just gonna go grab a donut and some more coffee. What's that he said in OMWF? "Respect the cruller; tame the donut!" I don't remember exactly how it went.

Hey... that actually brings me to some questions about the layout of the compound.

1. First, where is the conference room? Is it in the basement near the infirmary, training room, the computer lab, Giles' library and other official type rooms? And how far is it from the kitchen, or does it have a little kitchenette? Xander's hungry. Ok - I'm hungry and it made me wonder about this, but still.

2. Second, where is the "common room?" Gwen mentioned having fallen asleep on the sofa in the common room after Xander mentioned having fallen asleep while watching infomercials... on the sofa in the living room. I'm hoping the common room and the living room are not the same, otherwise it looks like Xander and Gwen played snuggle-and-snore buddies last night without remembering it. :-) If that's the case, Lyri, you and I might want to get our characters together for an awkward conversation.

3. How many bathrooms are there? And are they communal (with multiple shower and toilet stalls) or private (with one commode, one shower, and a door that locks)? So far I have seen both Faith and Xander take showers. Both did so in a bathroom that was not attached to their respective rooms. Faith mentioned having to wait for other slayers to get done.

the reason i mentioned a common room, is because i wanted a communal area for the Slayers to go hang out, but i figured that the living room that you mentioned, palabra, was some sort of private area for those in charge of the compound, Buffy, Willow, Xander ETC. i don't Gwen feels comfortable enough at the compound yet to even step foot in that room, let alone sleep in it.

eah the only real way to conclude is to leave a room, if ou say something it will be open for others to say stuff back to it, so just be aware of that.

Just to let everyone know how this is going to work, we're gonna have the first team leave, they will move inot a new thread that set in Nepal, while we brief the 2nd team in the thread we're in at the moment, and then they too will switch to their own thread for the mission, so as soon as we've gone over things, and we're ready to go I'll start up the new threads.

So... Dawn and the Finns are all out for the holidays, right?

Now that the other characters have boarded the plane, does that mean the remaining characters should cover by writing something like the following sentence? "Dawn, Sam, and Riley boarded the plane and strapped on their seatbelts." We wouldn't really be writing *for* them, (because I wouldn't feel right doing that) but at least we could get the plane to Nepal and get settled into the monastery. The rest of us could have some fun patrolling Kathmandu for vamps and other beasties (like a bumping into a Yeti or even having a run-in with Drusilla) until everyone is back. That would be fun, but it wouldn't really move the plot forward too much (if at all). That way, those who are absent for the holidays wouldn't be left out of anything important, but those who are here (if somewhat busy) would have something to do.

What do you guys think?

Yeah there is no problem with changeing your Av, Gategod is correct, for some reason when you change your profile pic you have to clear your cache before you see it, you don't need approval to change it.

The only thing we set is that it's a clear picture of the character, when you use photoshoped arty images it looks a bit crap, I think.

"Well, I'm not rooming with that wanker." He turned around and found an empty room to himself. Cardboard and Barbie would prolly get their own room - he was almost serene at that thought. He didn't much care who else roomed with him.

Point of clarification: Xander didn't exactly plan ahead for the three additional slayers, so the guest quarters are really tight. There are only three rooms. Whoever doesn't claim a room has to sleep on one of the sleeping mats in the main room. So "Cardboard and Barbie" can't have a room to themselves unless someone moves. They must either split and room separately with Faith, Xander, or Spike as roommates or lay down their mats together in the main room. I kind of did that on purpose so that characters who don't necessarily like one another are going to have to interact with one another. It just seemed like it would lead to the writing of many fun insults. :-) Also, it seemed like just the sort of mistake Xander might end up making while trying to play Mr. Leader.

So Sam, Riley, and Dawn could split and each choose an interesting roommate. Alternatively, they could camp out in the main room and let the new slayers room with the three characters who have already claimed rooms, but, personally, I think that would be boring. I mean, the latent Faith issues brought up during the smoke demon fight would be really neat to work into a rooming arrangement in which one has to share space with Faith. Also, they might ask one of the three to have already claimed rooms to move so that they can room together. Heck, it could even be interesting if an extra person chooses to sleep in the main room so that one of the three characters to have claimed a room finds himself/herself so universally despised that he/she is left without a roommate.

Anyway, my point is that a lot of neat rooming configurations are still open, but that the Riley/Sam configuration is not available unless one of those characters asks another character to trade rooms. Just a little point of clarification.

Oooh - I just noticed an issue with your post for Sam, slayergal. You put Sam and Riley in their own room, but they don't have their own room.

Here's the situation: three extra NPC slayers tagged along on the trip at the last minute. Xander, who arranged for the monastery to house them, didn't take that into consideration because he didn't know about the tag-alongs until they showed up on the jet. That means that there are only three bedrooms containing two beds each. Anyone who doesn't claim one of these beds has to bed down on a sleeping mat in the main room. Spike and Dawn are rooming together. Faith and Xander chose NOT to room together, so they each claimed a room. That means there are only two free beds: one in Faith's room and one in Xander's room.

Basically, that means that Sam and Riley have the following options:
1. Split up, one in Xander's room and one in Faith's room (an interesting possibility for you, given the Faith issues touched upon during the smoke demon scenario).
2. Try to convince Faith and Xander to room together so that Riley and Sam can have a room to themselves (an interesting possibility for GateGod and me, since our characters are bickering a lot lately).
3. Give the two remaining beds to two of the tag-along slayers and bed down in the main room along with one of the tag-along slayers (an interesting scenario for you just for the lack of privacy thing -- some marital issues might need to be aired in public, for instance).
4. Some creative alternative invented by you or some other creative RPGer.


Does that make sense? The weird sleeping arrangements sort of force characters to either interact with other characters either in unusual ways or to interact with characters whom they might not otherwise spend much time/don't necessarily like.

Not to worry, adopted mama. We all make mistakes like that sometimes.

I'm thinking the easiest thing to do would be to ask BEG to delete the post and go on posting as if Riley and Sam never had a room to themselves. You (or Riley) could then help with the current yeti situation and/or decide what you want to do about sleeping arrangements. That way, no one else would be backtracking or making decisions for your characters and no other posts would have to be changed to accommodate this change.

That's just the idea I have, though. There is very likely a better one floating around out there. Does anyone one else have any ideas?

No problem! That happens every now and then. The basics are as follows:

1. A yeti attacked. Faith wounded it, but it got away. Faith and Xander went after it. It turned out that the yeti is either a shapeshifter (like Illyria) or a half-demon (like Doyle). In any case, it either is or can take the form of a little girl. This little girl is what Faith and Xander found and brought back to the monastery. Faith feels guilty because she may have taken the life of another person. Xander feels wary because it's a shape shifting demon. Still, convinced by Faith's rather emotional response, Xander went to the monastery to get a monk to help the girl.

2. Sam took charge and restrained the yeti girl, got Riley and the slayers patrolling the perimeter, and ordered Spike to secure the blood/scent trail so as not to lead any other demons to the hideout. From your perspective, that's probably the most important part.

3. Dawn went out to the main room and asked what happened.

4. The abbot, who claims to know something about Dru, sent a healer to look after yeti girl. He then took Xander aside -- to either give him important Dru-related intel or to act on her behalf in some uber scary way, Xander's not sure which.

And the healer is waving some du-hickey. (amazing word I can't spell) and sprinkling something on her while he chants. We assume he's healing her.

I thought Riley and Sam said Dru was in Nepal and causing trouble along with at least one slayer. I thought they called in the folks at slayer central because they thought Buffy's team would be able to get closer to Dru and the slayer(s) than would anyone else. Is that not what's going on?

Let's see... the smoke demon fight took place at night. The scooby meeting happened the next morning. The Nepal team departed that night. They spent approximately 15 hours in the air and have spent pretty much an entire night in Nepal by now. That makes me think it's been roughly 48 hours since the smoke demon attack. So it should be late night/early morning at slayer central.

Does that sound right to everyone else?

Well I just put up my first post! I hope that it is pretty good this is the first time I have ever done an RPG so if it is not super I hope that I will get better, but I am excited to write with all of you. I named the rogue slayer Indra because it means the goddess of the sky and the goddess over all men. It is and Indian goddess so I hope that it was a suffecient name (BEG I hope it was okay that I named her) So yeah I hope to post more soon!!

Actually one thing I want people to start useing again, as people are about to go to differnt locations in the same thread, if you put the location in the title bar, just so we can easily see where everyone is!

Aslo I have a new account that is a demon account, so if we need demons to fight I can post as them, basically it will be the same account but it can be different demons if we need it to be :)

I don't know whether Kennedy and Willow are still together at this point or not. Either way, you could work on the tension that must exist between those two. Willow seems to be very focused on the mission... that could make Kennedy feel left out and lonely and a little jealous or bitter, so that she might act out in a way that might possibly jeopardize the mission (that being the move). Maybe she could push too hard and, in the castle, set them up as roommates? She might also strike up a friendship with Satsu, who must also be feeling left out. Satsu's gay, as well, so even if it's just a friendship, it could have the interesting side-effect of making Willow jealous.

Also, there is that Tatum Cohen slayer hanging around town near the training camp. Gunn found her. The team brought her up, but the smoke demons and the fallout took priority. Maybe Kennedy could take it upon herself to bring Tatum into the fold.

Don't let Kennedy's lack of popularity get you down. There's a lot you could do with a character that isn't particularly well-liked by the other characters. Look at Faith. Look at Amy. Those two aren't the friendliest characters, but they're rocking the RPG. I think your best bet is to choose one main interpersonal conflict and one main external conflict and just see where those take your character.

GateGod and I did a joint post once (via PM), but only because we were new. It was the same sort of thing. We were having a conversation and wanted to post 1 big post rather than a bunch of one liners. BEG said he didn't really want us doing that again, though, and I don't want to step on his toes.

Maybe we could use PM to work out what we're each gonna say and then only post our side in our thread. That way, to get the whole conversation, you'll have to read both threads. We won't be joint posting or posting one character's actions under another character's profile that way, though. What do you think?

I am loving Indra, too! As a good guy, we're kind of always on the defense. We're reacting to the bad guys. But as a bad guy, I get to be on the offense. It's totally awesome! It's a completely different kind of challenge from playing Xander. Both are super fun roles to play.
