Am currently reading The Lost Slayer omnibus (I bought it for 99p (!) from Virgin Megastores last year) and I have to say I'm already hooked. It's a great storyline so far and I couldn't put it down yesterday, but am currently on page 100 and something.

Has anyone else read/been reading this story? Woudl love to hear everyones opinions of it :)

This was the first Buffy book that I read. It was pretty good.

It's been a while since I've read it. I remember the wicked vamps with the tattoos!

Oh wow, I'm onto the second chapter of part two 'Dark Times' now, and seriously, wow! I'm just in shock!

I don't wanna give too much away incase anyone reading this thread hasn't yet read the story but it is just fantastic! I thought the sudden inclusion of August, 5 years down the line was fantastic, she's definatly a slayer I'd be interested in reading more about. I'm loving the fact Harmony's involved as well, she's still siring losers lol. I honestly have to say, this seems to be one of the best written BtVS novels that I've come accross over the years. Christopher Golden really has done well with it! Now I'm off back to the book will post more thoughts of it soon!

P.S. Yep I loved the tattoo thing as well, as soon as that was mentioned I thought 'hmm this could be interesting'

I finished the book this morning and seriously, wow! That had to be the best BtVS novel that I've read over the years, I was hooked! I couldn't believe how many characters they killed off throughout the book as well! Absoloutely amazing!

Agreed, it was amazing. Christopher Golden got the shows characters down to a tee, it was as if it was an episode transcript it was that believable. And I loved getting to find out how characters would be five years on, it was just a fantastic series.

What do you think of including Lucy Hanover in the series? She was never a slayer that we meet on the show.

Do you consider her as part of the Buffyverse, or is she just a character that doesn't really fit. What do you guys think?

I have it and have started it a few times but never finished it.

On the Lucy topic, she is absolutely my favorite Slayer. I have no idea why, it's just how she has the child (Roland), how she ran away (The Wild Hunt I think), and how she died (the Wanderer) are all so interesting. Personally I consider her part of the Buffyverse. :)

Help please. When I went to the book store there was the lost slayer there. I didn't get it. Instead I got the wisdom of war. Now looking on ebay for the lost slayer and I am finding different ones. One of them is the one I found last night and the other two are parts of each other.. ie.. The lost slayer pt.1 and pt.2 pt.3 etc. Anyone help?

Edit:

Since it said omnibus and I didn't see that I guess I can just get the one, my bad. I will forget the parts.

I love Lucy. I thought she was fantastic, and a great part of the slayerverse. I also loved this book, I couldn't put it down. I also got the 3 parts in one volume. And yeah it was thrilling to know Giles as something else, and the Scoobies as older. The turning of Giles was creepy.

Yeah, this was a fantastic book. The characters came alive, and even in their new five-years-down-the-line twisted way you could still hear the lines being said in your head, if you get what I mean? Haha.
But yeah, I definitely include Lucy in the Buffyverse. She's been mentioned in so many Buffy novels and merchandise, and like The Chosen said- her life story sounds so unbelievably interesting from what we get from each book, that personally I think one of the buffy character novels (where it focuses on a protaganist that isn't Buffy) could easily be written about Lucy and not get tired or boring. Well, *I'd* buy it at least. Haha. And wasn't she mentioned in the first promo for the premiere episode of Buffy? You know the footage where they say 'this all stopped when Lucy Hanover came to town. And now, it's happening again...' or something like that. Haha. So yeah, she's definitely a card-carrying member of the Buffyverse in my opinion, hehe.

I would definitely include Lucy Hanover as part of the Buffyverse. Like Everyone has said, I have read so much about her that she feels part of it.

I really enjoyed the Lost Slayer Series but it wouldn't be my favourite, I think that is betwee Immortal/Sins of the Father and The Story of Four

Also, Lucy is very much canon. Maybe.

She was included in the WB's History of the Slayer promo. It may have been connected to Joss but you never know. Someone should ask Master Joss about that...

I'll get on that right now TC!

But Lucy does seem to fit rather well into the canon

I read it when it came out as a 4 book series, and loved it. It's the only Buffy book that made me cry.

This was the only Buffy Novel I've ever read completely. It was many many years ago but I remember I was hooked and I couldn't put it down. It was awesome. I don't remember much to give a detailed review though. I should buy this book again. LOL

I've just re-read the 4 books because it had been so long since I'd read them the first time. Just incase people haven't read it yet I'll put these as spoilers:

I loved how Dru died, it was so totally here, dancing as she went up in flames. I'm glad Spike got staked by Xander, it had a kind of poetic justice. Although it was sad that Spike happened to be the one to kill Joyce, especially after their relationship in the TV Show. Angel's scene was so heartbreaking. Of course he would go to look for her. Giles makes a very evil vampire, he's as bad as Angelus was.

It was such a great series of books :)

I loved this book as well, but what I didn't like is that how Buffy mentioned Cordelia as someone she could kind of
go to and then we never hear anything of it again! Can we say disappointing mis-lead?! It made me very angry.

Jules, I agree and disagree:
I think Dru's death was great, I'm SO glad she never died on the show, but if there was a way for it to happen, it would be this way. Spike on the other hand was ridiculous. Xander Killing him was stupid I thought. I loved Harmony's death.

Another think I didn't like was the whole: "This is for Kendra", "This is for Anya" thing. It was SO SO SO corny.
But all in all, an amazing book. Right when buffy woke up in her cell thingy I knew it was going to only get better!

I don't remember much as I haven't read the series in some time. But I was able to follow and hang on every word that was written.

I actually bought the 4 books in one.
