View Full Version : Whedonverse Merchandise
Do you reckon that some of you may have the Whedonverse knowledge to throw together a directory of all Whedonverse merchandise? Anyone and everyone can add to it, and it will include everything, books, comics, even sticker books and calendars.
Because, I want to collect pretty much everything in the Whedonverse, Joss Whedon is an incredible writer/producer/director/composer.. I could carry that list on for a while.
Oh, and it would also include things that actors/actresses from other Whedon projects have starred in.
It's a big project to do, but I'm sure that it would be great for all the people who want to become collectors and there's a big bucket of big greeny rep here to be thrown your way.

That's a great idea. I don't know a lot about fan merchandise myself, but if you guys can post enough links here, I'll organize them all in another thread, and stake it, then post a link to the thread in the Whedonverse index.
What have you got? Action figures, of course. Mugs. The Scythe. Faith's knife. Any models, like the Firefly mule, or something like that? What about stuff like books, comics, music cds, dvds. Do they apply?
Well, the DVDs and VHS are easy to find, but maybe just finding them at their best price or something just to make the list complete?
The things it would focus on would be the things that take a while to find, things that don't come in a boxset or whatever. I mean, I looked on Google for a list of the graphic novels but there weren't any, so this is what the directory would serve as, a way of finding the more elusive parts of the Whedonmerch (Whedonverse, Whedonmerch! Get it? Get it?! ... Never mind) universe

Faith's knife is a limited edition Gil Higgins Jackal, long out of production and next to impossible to find at any price.
The one Jayne carried in "Firefly," (well, one of several, but the most noticeable one, is also exorbitantly expensive, not to mention scarce, but there is a reproduction of it called a "Patrick Henry Bowie" that is readily available and very easy to find. Just look it up by name on the net and find the cheapest place offering it. (Jayne carries a Cold Steel Laredo Bowie in "Serenity," also easily attainable, but VERY expensive.)
The weird looking thing with all of the points that Buffy uses in "Anne" is called a "Hunga Munga" (really!), and should be fairly easy to find.
The sword used by the demon whose blood makes Angel mortal, as well as being used in several other unrelated episodes of both shows (and Duncan Macleod's sword in "Highlander") is called variously a "Dragon Katana, " "Highlander Katana," and probably several other names is available from several different manufacturers, the best being Marto, the most reasonably priced being United Cutlery.
I've seen the daggers that the Bringers used in Season 7 (called "Jambiya") somewhere on the net, but I can't find them now.
Miscellaneous swords, daggers, crossbows, and axes either used on or similar to those used in the shows can be found at places like Atlanta Cutlery (I think they also have the official Buffy cross and stake) and Museum Replicas.
(Is it pretty obvious that I have an interest in eaged weapons?)
Also, the cut down Winchester Model 92 that Cloe carries as a sidearm is the same one that Steve McQueen used in his old series, "Wanted Dead Or Alive," and if you look hard enough, you could probably find one of the toy replicas still available, though once again, probably at a high price.
