I was just watching the Season 3 episode where Angel tries to smother Wes in the hospital. Am I the only one who was just a little surprised that two orderlies were able to drag an enraged super strong vampire, not just off of Wesley, but COMPLETELY OUT OF THR ROOM? Granted, Angel tossed Orderly Number 3 across the room with what seemed like very little effort, but still, it should have taken al least six or seven normal men to restrain Angel.

I always wondered the same thing. It was a little too easy. Maybe he was just so mad that he couldn't focus on getting the orderlies off his back.
I know that's the wrong answer but it's just a guess.

Then again, maybe the orderlies on the night shift at that hospital were really vampires, working for blood money...

Of course, if that was true, Angel would have eventually sensed it and staked them.
Plus, Angel is strong for a vamp anyways.
i'm going to go with the assumtion that Angel was too broken up to care about what was going on around him. he'd just lost his son and found out that it was Wes's fault. i'm sure every parent here can relate.
He let them take him away is my perspective.
He knew he didn't want to kill Wesley, he wouldn't be able to handle it.
He was just looking for a way of getting rid of his rage, and to tell Wesley that if he came near him again, he'd be straight back in hospital.

This is basically what I was gonna say.

Yeah same here. He probably sub-consciously let them drag him out.
