Start date: April 20, 2007
End date: April 27, 2007
(Since we already discussed "When she was bad" for the season premiere discussions, let's move onto the second ep of season two)
I'm going to do it a little bit different. I think we should give the ep a rating, let's say on a 1-5 stakes scale. (1 being lowest, 5 being highest)
Episode rating: 2 stakes
This is not a memorable episode. While it doesn't really suck, it's just not that entertaining. I do like the grave-robbing part though, where Buffy says it's the mans job to dig up the corpses!

rating: 2 stakes (not to copy you SB, but i didnt really like this episode, but didnt hate it enough to only give it one :p)
mostly, the parts i liked of this episode related to the jenny/giles romance. the plot wasnt terribly interesting imo. i did also like the buffy/angel stuff. and if im not mistaken, this is the ep where at the end willow and xander are wondering why they cant get dates, and when cordy comes to thank xander for saving her, he just pushes her away, and goes back to his conversation about why he cant get a date. i liked that funny irony :silly:.

Yeah, he pushes Cordelia away, and wonders why he can't attract girls...hehe (Not to mention that he starts dating Cordelia!)

I am not a huge fan of this episode. I don't hate it, but I definitely don't LIKE it, either. It's a little boring, except for one or two funny lines. And does anyone really buy that the dead guy was really considered to be really attractive when he was alive? He looked like an ogre. And why was he stitched up like Frankenstein? He was just the corpse brought back to life, right? Unless they mentioned that his body was chopped up somehow. But didn't he die in a car wreck?
I just think this episode could have been a lot better. I'd give it 1/5.

Ok, just to help get the ball rolling, (and to prove to Faith that I'm not scared of dates anymore), I thought I'd dig up an old mustey topic and blow the dust off. It is the man's job, after all.
Now, I actually disagree with the others that posted in here: I actually quite liked this episode. It's perhaps not one of the more memorable, but it's certainly not bad. Plus, it had some great lines. I particularly liked the opening, with the:
Buffy: Are you crazy? You don't just sneak up on people in a graveyard.
You make noise when you walk. You stomp or... yodel.
Angel really should yodel more often. This was also the episode that brought us the true beginnings of Giles and Jenny, with the poncy!rugby match! How can you not love it?!? Ok, the main plotline wasn't that great, but I feel the ancillary stories and the character writing more than made up for it.
I do feel (now), however, that if Anya had been around, it could have been fantastic. This was the perfect episode for her. Too bad she was probably off somewhere in Europe cursing people...
3.5/5

Stakes: 3
Not a brilliant episode, the pseudo frankstein was wierd >.<
But this is the episode that has the quote from Willow (i think :S): "love makes you do the wacky"
I think it was my first Buffy line ever *_*

As people have said not a very mermorable episode. But I did love the part were Angel is being jealous of Xander made me laugh :D
BUFFY: Nope. Why? Are you jealous?
ANGEL: Of Xander? Please. He's just a kid.
BUFFY: Is it 'cause I danced with him?
ANGEL: 'Danced with' is a pretty loose term. 'Mated with' might be a little closer.

this is one ep i go *sigh* at when i get to it, and watch it and enjoy. (mostly for the cordyness of it)

This ep does very little for me... I always mentally misplace it into late S1 instead of early S2, I guess that's telling. :p
I can give it a mere 1.5 stakes out of 5 - ranks as one of the two taillights of S2 for me, together with Reptile Boy.

I agree with you all; this ep leaves me pretty cold, too. I think the writers--and maybe the actors--just missed hitting the pathos and ethos of the original Frankenstein monster with Daryl. (Of course, in my opinion, Mary Shelley missed it, too. . . .)

I do not want to rate it sorry, but my rating would be affected by me not having seen teh episode for a while now. I will say this though:
I think Cordelia got some well deserved screentime, and the storyline played with the classic monster Frankenstein. Which was kinda obvious that it would come since, werewolves, vamps, and mummies are the classic monsters with Frankenstein's puzzlework or dead people.
I am not very impressed by the episode, it needed more for me to get really into it. Frankly, I got a bit bored along the way, and fast forwarded to parts that looked like they were interesting.

yeah the show had to go through the mummy, dummy, the younger epps bro as dr. frankenstein and cordy to be the bride of the monster all very touching.... well the mom was the most to me, igonoring the still alive kid for the memory of her golden boy (seemed stephen king-y to me)
