View Full Version : James Marsters' Band
I'm not sure if they are still together, or if Marsters has decided to continue with his solo route, but in 2003, i think, he formed a band called Ghost of the Robot. They have some good songs, has anyone else heard of them?

If I remember correctly, I think they split due to "artisitc differences" (I think that means it didn't exactly end well). James went his own way and the other guys took to other bands.
i can understand the artistic differences, their music isn't exactly great, its kinda sub indie

I think that too. And as we can see in 'Once more... with feeling' he sings very well!

i like gotr but they split so james could go on to do other stuff. i kinda had to do a presentation on my fave band for music recently so i picked them and now i know quite a bit about them.

I have the songs from "Mad brilliant", and I think itīs ok. But as a whole I like the "Civilazed man" album better. Itīs something with the sound on "Mad brilliant" that bothers me, in the same way the sound on Metallicas "... and justice for all" and "St. Anger" did. But itīs worth checking out.

I've only heard a few of the songs. The production quality on "Goodnight, Sweet Girl" wasn't great, but the music was decent. I enjoyed it.

I havn't heard the album or albums (?). I did hear a couple of his songs he had on an old myspace page though and I have to say I wasn't impressed. The songwriting was terrible and the vocals weren't that good. He is a great actor, but I'm not sure music is his area. I do like Rest In Peace on Buffy though, but I think it could have used a bit more grit and anger in places. I think he can sing, but he just isn't quite there yet. Its still lacking something.
i have one of GOTR's albums they did fantastic tunes...
yeh think they split cause of artistic differences....
got both of james solo albums...he does amazing music on his own as well...and fantastic live :D
Eh, his music's generic. It's not BAD, it's just... I've heard it a million times before.

I agree with you on GOTR, but not really a fan of his solo stuff to be honest......

I think both GOTR and his solo stuff are less than spectacular. The song writing isn't that good and neither is the rest of it. He is a brilliant actor, but music is not totally his thing. He can sing alright some, but other than that it just doesn't work.

Aww, I happen to think he's an okay singer not the best but still nice to listen to. GOTR's music is so much better than his solo stuff in terms of beat. I prefer that sort of music rather than the slow stuff........but yeah the lyrics don't really make any sense but I happen to like the beats more which is pretty weird as I love lyrics!
