I was watching season 4 the other day and i watched the ep. where tara is giving willow the , i think it was a rose quart or something like that, and willow said that she couldnt take it if it was a family heirloom. But she would like to do spells. Later she goes into her dorm room where buffy is...and she is standing in the front of the dresser, when shes talking to buffy you can see something behind her...is that the gift that Tara gave her, did she take it in the end?

Who knows, it was never really mentioned in the show again, maybe it wasin willows room like you say but ya never know shecould have been borrowing it.

Now ya mentions it is a little strange we didn't see it again, or did we and i just forgot?

i remember her talking to Buffy and she had the stone in her hand. it was around the time when we were all wondering if there was more than friendship with the two of them, right? and i remember thinking, 'hey, she has that stone thingie. wonder if that means anything?'

WILLOW: I can't. It's like a family heirloom. I just wouldn't feel comfortable. (Tara puts the crystal away) But i-if you wanted to try out some spells with it some time, I wouldn't say no.

maybe she didnt take the crystal, but since they were trying out spells with it together, she could have borrowed it at some point to research on her own or something. just a theory...

Ok im not 100% sure, but going off my memory, at the end of the ep with the offer Willow goes to Tara's room at the end of the episode and blows out the candle and the episode ends, correct? Thats the same one where Buffy spends the night at Riley.

Then in the next episode, both of them come back to the room, with their beds still made, and both are like, "You didn't stay here last night?", But when Willow walks into the room, she is holding the stone.

The whole Candle blowing, Staying the night, Gift acceptance thing, I'm guessing that was the first night anything happened between them, and so by that point the stone had a special importance to Willow, so she decided to accept it.

Thats just what I got from it all...

Not exactly; actually, the episode where we see Willow and Buffy talking about neither of them being in their room the night before - and where we see that Willow has the crystal - is "The 'I' In Team", s4e13. The episode that ends with the candle-blowing is "New Moon Rising," s4e19.

There's been a lot of discussion over just *how* intimate Willow and Tara were in "The 'I' In Team." I think it's pretty obvious that Willow was aware of *something* between them after that night, because she was quite uncomfortable talking to Buffy, but I also think that "New Moon Rising" is the point at which they finally became lovers as opposed to just girl friends.

Ah yes, I am rewatching the series at the moment, and just watched this ep.

So yes Willow definetly did take the stone, she uses it in the spell to hide spike from the initive, the one that makes their hair all big.
