Okay, I've been totally bad about this! Sorry guys, that I took me so long to get this one up!

Episode: Inca Mummy Girl

Stakes: 1.

This was not my favorite episode. It's not really one that I like to watch again and again. I do like Xander stuffing twinkies into his mouth. Oh, and Oz noticing Willow in her eskimo costume!

What do you guys think?

yeah, i know, im lame, but i love a lot of the stuff going on here. as SB mentioned, we have the intro of oz as well as him first seeing willow in the eskimo costume.   those two are so darned cute together! and there's the twinkies thing too. but there are other things in this episode that i like. i like watching willow have a big part in the episode; this was an episode where she actually had to watch xander date another girl, not to mention be supportive of him doing so. that was very painful for her, and her being supportive was a step for her. sure, xander had a crush on buffy before, but nothing ever happened. buffy rejected him at the end of season 1, plus she liked angel. willow knew this, so it wasnt as much of a threat to her as a girl who liked him. there was also the bug-teacher, but what kind of chance did willow expect them to have? in addition, she has to listen to xander tell buffy that willow is not a person he would consider dating in the beginning. and ok, in terms of other aspects of the episode, mummy girl, kind of lame in a way, but it never bugged me. not the worlds ideal plot, but nothing bad or wrong with it in my eyes. and xander stepping in to save willow at the end, even though he would be giving his own life, might be something he's done many times and is just typical of his character, but it is still sweet. the girl who played ampata was not a bad actress, and was not obvious about that she was really a mummy (if im remembering it right; its been a little while since ive seen this one). she and xander together also continues xander's demon-attraction pattern. and finally, it was interesting to me how much ampata and buffy could connect, which could make you sympathize with both of them. and come on, with all that season 1 criticism and some of the lamer s1 episodes, this was pretty good for early season 2.

whoa, i cant remember the last time ive had that much to say! i need to get back into gear! :silly:

yeah, not one of my all time episodes, but i can usually find something i like in every ep, so i watch them again.

with 'Inca Mummy Girl' i pretty much watch it for the Oz factor. he's just SO adorable when he notices Willow for the first time on stage, and he asks Devon who she is, and he thinks Oz's talking about Cordelia and Oz says 'No. the Eskimo' the look on his face is just too cute for words. and later he says 'Who IS that girl?' which is one of my all time fave lines.
i liked the fact that Xander tried to save Willow by making Ampata kill him instead. it proves to everyone that Willow means more to him than some girl he just met. he basically tells Ampata that she can't have Willow, so she either has to kill him, or die. ok, so she chooses to kill him, but still, it's the principle of the act! lol
i liked Buffy's tantrum at Giles 'I have plans! Dance plans! Cancelled plans.'

did anyone else think Rodney (the student Ampata mummified at the museum) was hott? just me then? ok...;)

well, i never got an answer here (and no problem SB, cause you were on vacation and all, and i was just being lazy anyway), so just for the sake of having an answer here:

GILES: Your secret identity is going to be difficult enough to maintain while this exchange student is living with you.
XANDER: Not...with her. In the same house as her. Am I the only one who's objective enough to make that distinction?
BUFFY: So! I think going to the dance like a normal person would be the best way to keep that secret. Giles, come on, budge! No one likes a non-budger.
