North Cornwall, UK. May 1067.
Guen, Elspeth, Roseana and Aldsgrey sat in the carriage, waving to their friends and families. Six of his Lordships guards were leading the way and six were the carriage. Slowly their village of Inavere faded into the distance. Elspeth looked out as the place where the old lord lived came into view.
ELSPETH : Ever wondered what our lives would be like if we hadn't told them how to build the walls around that place ?.
ALDSGREY : But we did do that place, and it's a lot better for it, what I remember is how we came to design that place.
GUEN : Did put a feather in our hats didn't it.
ROSEANA : Let's see, just because we managed to see the Kings outriders, and the Kings guards, then Elspeth went into the Lords private room without any-one seeing her.
ELSPETH : He was pleased, mind you, being ready for the Kings surprise test made him happier, that helped us get noticed. But Aldsgrey's place for his sons castle was a big help.
GUEN : And the people in the village were happy as we got a feast from it.
ROSEANA : What about you Aldsgrey, any of our adventures come to mind ?.
ALDSGREY : Not so much of an adventure, when we made the escape path in the river. How many times were we told off for throwing stones in the river, but when we told every-one what we had done.
ELSPETH : How the talk of us changed, but when the whole village escaped an attack because of what we had done, now that was good.
ROSEANA : I liked how we helped those forest animals two years ago.
GUEN : How we said that we weren't children anymore because we were thirteen, did any-one agree with us ?.
ROSEANA : I reckon it was that that changed Ruhtra, the lords son. Remember how he always wanted to kill things, but after that he stood and considered what benefits could be done to himself, to others and to them. Mind you they were strange animals.
ELSPETH : What were they ?. I've never seen anything like them. If you think about it, all we gave them was friendship. Nothing compared to what they gave us.
ALDSGREY : That may have been worth a lot to them, 'cos before then, they had spent their lives hidden away from us.
GUEN : They did quite a bit, helped us do our crops better, made the forest safe for the children of the village. They showed us how to use the trees for our benefit, they did the paths, removed rocks and opened up areas for us to play in.
ELSPETH : What about you Guen ? Anything that you can think of ?.
GUEN : Well the big time for me was helping those nun's.
ROSEANA : How did you get the Lord to let them have those buildings ?.
GUEN : That was down to Elspeth, she had said how we had all helped out around the area, he said he was returning some of what he owed us.
ALDSGREY : Well I like the name they gave the place, Byavere, just because it was near our village.
ELSPETH : Then the nuns began to call you Guen The I vere.
GUEN : But what the King and the Lord did !. Giving me the honour of letting me use the title Lady, that got us all into some lovely Balls at the lords manor.
ALDSGREY : The Lords son, Ruhtra, teaching you how to dance. Remember that ?.
ELSPETH : It may have crossed her mind once or twice, each day.
GUEN : I don't know what you mean !.
ROSEANA : The villagers certainly made it easier to say that name, I'll never forget that ball we went to when they called out the name you were known as, Lady Guenivere. Even Friends of the King had heard of you.
Elspeth leaned out of the carriage door, then turned to her friends.
ELSPETH : I can see the castle, it looks good Aldsgrey.
ALDSGREY : They were impressed by it, but mainly because it is very hard to successfully attack. So Guen, soon you'll be as good as married.
GUEN : I know, I also know that you, my friends will still be near me, I must admit I have always wanted to meet Ruhtra's grandfather's friend, seems he has helped Ruhtra a lot since his father died.
The castle loomed before them, people leant out from the windows, as they drew closer the cheering could be heard. In the walls of the castle the sound of the cheering became very loud, but when Guen stepped out of the carriage it was very hard for her not to smile. Guen and her friends went into the doorway of the castle and there was Lord Ruhtra and his grandfathers friend, Merlin. Lord Ruhtra kissed Guen on the cheek, then signalled with his hands for the crowds to be quiet.
LORD RUHTRA : I wish to announced to you, that because of my friends I have become a different person to that of when I was growing up. So as of today I will complete my change and I will change my name around, from Ruhtra to Arthur.
The festivites began, at a ball that night their betrothal was formerly announced. Merlin told them during the evening that he had a special announcement to make to them, he had decided to make use of the beauty of the lake near St. Nectan's Glen.
Later that evening Elspeth, Roseana and Aldsgrey were given a choice of what parts of the castle to stop in, the part near the spring known as Atlan Dis Worto or the Welsh part called Ava Llion Nia. During the next morning They all gathered by the stables, food was put in the carriage for them then they were taken to the Glen. Even Arthur didn't know what Merlin had planned for them.
It was a lovely day, not much cloud in the sky, the birds seemed to be gathered near them, yet they didn't make much noise, Roseana and Elspeth noticed how the animals of the field had come to be near them. Presently Merlin attracted their attention.
MERLIN : What I am going to tell you may be hard for you to accept, but it is all true. Firstly about myself, I am a wizard, but far more importantly I am A Guardian to Arthur, Arthur is a Watcher to Guen as she is The Vampire Slayer. You may not believe what I have just told you, so others are nearly here to tell you.
Arthur and Guen looked at each other, Elspeth reacted.
ELSPETH : Roseana look, the animals !.
All of the animals were bending their front legs, it looked as though they were bowing.
A large glow of glorious white light, a dome ten foot high then two more domes of light blue light appeared before them, as the light began to fade three figures could be seen, each of them was cloaked in light.
GODDESS TUREE : I am the Goddess Turee, these with me are the Goddess Medusera and the Goddess T 'ara, we have come here to welcome you, to us you will be known as Guen the Vampire Slayer. Please come with us and meet another of your kind.

Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK. May 17th 2006.
Several times during the last two evenings the sky had glowed around Kenilworth Castle, the colours had been mainly white but once or twice a yellow glow and a few blue glows lit up the sky. Of course the local ghost hunters club was there, they wandered around the building with little gauges, a camera was set up to record anything 'spectral' in the area. They concentrated their gaze on the lower part of the walls and the grounds outside the castle. If only they'd have looked elsewhere.
SCHERRY : Sandra !, keep away from the middle, at some point tonight there will be some tables and chairs arriving for those in the meeting. Anne, can you stay with Sandra ?.
ANNE : I take it this is your first time to one of these do's ?.
SANDRA : Noticeable is it ?.
ANNE : Same for most of us, there may be one or two of us that have been to one, but they don't happen very often.
SANDRA : So why now ?.
ANNE : There's something wrong, something needs to be done. Word on the grapevine is that it's really big. If time permits I'll introduce you to those that come here.
SANDRA : How do you know them ?.
ANNE : I've been around for a long time, and one of the benefits of being from a place where there's more than a few of us.
SANDRA : Your from the Merry Maidens stone circle, isn't there sixteen demon hunters there, Wow. So who's going to be here ?.
ANNE : A few Goddesses, the generals of the armed forces of Byzantium and Bouicandeni.
Tables and chairs began to appear in the castle grounds.
SANDRA : There's a lot of chairs.
ANNE : Like I said, there's something big on. Come on, we're to join those at the entry. We're there to stop any-one getting in.
SANDRA : Like who ?.
As they walked their clothes changed to that of their battle uniform, even Xena would have been proud of them wearing her type of outfit.
ANNE : There's some ghost hunters nearby, all there equipment,it's to test for the dead, even the immortals wouldn't raise a beep from their stuff.
While the meeting was happening the hunters guarded the gateway.
ANNE : Leia, over here, what's going on ?.
LEIA : I only caught a bit, but it seems they're talking about the humans wearing the blood of their partner in a little vial around their necks. There was something about the Rollright stones, but there is some powerful vampire is causing an occasional tremor. They are on about getting two slayers, one of them is here with us and the others about eight hundred years old.
ANNE : I hope I'm not the slayer, but that other one is going to have some fun !.
SANDRA : Why ?.
ANNE : She'll go back with modern weapons, modern make-up and modern clothes, the thing about slayers is they won't be immortal when they die, so it'll be something important.
LEIA : That was quick, they're going.
ANNE : Come-on Scherry, what's going to happen, please tell, please !.
SCHERRY : Oh Anne, at least try to behave like a lady.
ANNE : Yeah okay, I'll start tomorrow.
SCHERRY : I hope you didn't pick up any of her bad habits. Oh, sorry Anne I seem to have forgotten what we were talking about.
As people travelled through Stow-In-The-Wold they began to feel better for some reason, even today there seemed to be a calmness and a welcoming despite the twenty three murders. In the papers people were told to be watchful as the police had no clues. The elderly, the infirm and the disabled had more than the normal visitors, even loners were glad at the extra attention.
On the last six nights the Witches of the Rollright had met to summon the protector. On the previous night one of them, Karen, had called a halt to their proceedings saying that they needed to go to the old place to summon the one.
It was a normal Sunday afternoon, the place was packed, from the coach tours, holiday makers, locals and the Morris Dancers, even though they were normal dancers they got centre stage for every performance. Today was no exception, their parking spaces were kept clear, happily they began to ready themselves. Further back near the edge of the town a lone figure walked towards them. She (Karen) was dressed in a large monks habit that had a big hood that shaded her face, she carried a six foot staff that she hit the path with every second step, elderly folk moved out of her way then bowed to her as she passed them. Karen went up to Tony, the leader of the Morris Dancers.
KAREN : You'll need to wait until we have finished.
TONY : Why, is to a sacred day for you ?.
KAREN : Why did you say that ?.
TONY : Look at you, you look like a witch dressed like that.
KAREN : If that's what it takes for you to stay here.
Karen went into the road and caste a line from one side to the other, then she walked along the road and caste another line. As she went to the middle six more figures walked along the road towards her every time their staffs hit the road the sound of an echo was heard. When they had greeted Karen they removed their robes, they then put a single bell on their left arm and left leg and two bells on their right arm and leg. Three bells were put on each staff about half way up the staff. Young children pointed at them and laughed, some of their parents watched in awe, a couple joked about them. An elderly woman came out of the bakery shop to see what the fuss was about, her daughter followed her.
Mary : Mum, what on earth do they think they are doing.
Her mother looked around.
Edith : Hmm, I think it's them Mary.
Mary : Who ?.
Edith : They might be the witches of the Rollright.
The seven of them walked into the road, facing inward they hit the road seven times, then stood still.
Mary : What makes you think they are witches ?.
EDITH : I remember my mother telling me of a time that this would happen. When seven would come into town and begin a call of sevens and nines. MARY : What ?
EDITH : When we went into the shop, I said about some-one drawing an imaginery line across the road, now I see what she did, a line of protection. With there being seven of them, they just struck the road seven times, nine bells for each of them.
MARY : What good is an imaginery line going to do ?.
EDITH : Well, no cars have gone past that line.
MARY : So what was that striking the road thing. And how do you know that stuff ?.
EDITH : Because my mother said of it, several times. If it's what she said they just opened the lines of communication. They may be calling the Unicorn.
MARY : Why would they call an animal ?.
EDITH : The Unicorn is said to have been the title of a high priestess of the Cotswold Covens, several hundred years ago.
As one, the seven faced away from the circle, moved three paces to the right then struck the road seven times, then six paces to the left striking the road seven times. They faced the centre of the circle again and struck the road seven times. They then knelt and bowed to the middle then stood, faced away from the circle and bowed again, they each moved sideways to the right one step hitting the road once, that was repeated until the road had been struck seven times. Once again they faced the centre of the circle, but this time they knelt on both knees and put the staff with the ends forming a circle.
MARY : I hope they are witches 'cos that wasn't very entertaining.
EDITH : They are witches, that was what my mother said might happen, it's an ancient ritual, umm, oh !, look at the middle of their staffs.
The crowds of onlookers suddenly realised that something wasn't quite right.
Karen saw the small dome of light in the centre of the circle.
KAREN : The call has been made and heard, now we go to the stones and wait.
Mary : What stones ?.
EDITH : She'll mean the Rollright Stone-circle, we'll go there in a minute or two I just need to get some bread and marg first.
She was just in the shop when the shopkeeper asked her to get what she wanted as they were about to close for the day. The shopkeepers father was just boiling some water for the coffee he was going to take for the witches.
There were several cars at the Stone-circle when Edith and Mary got there, several more cars were heading that way.
Slowly the layers of darkness began to herald the night. Edith looked around, some of the witches were being given hot drinks. There was at least fifty other people waiting.
MARY : It's starting to get a bit cold, are we going to be here much longer.
EDITH : No, the air seems to be getting warm now, and it's almost seven o'clock, it'll be very soon.
Suddenly a clear blue light appeared, bursting from the circle appeared the demon hunters Anne, Saffron and Dani in the battle uniforms, they each raised their cross bows, aimed, then looked around.
ANNE : CLEAR !
SAFFRON : CLEAR !
DANI : CLEAR !
From the centre of the circle came the demon hunters Felicity, Leia, Christine, Davina, Sandy, Kyles and Chandelle. They quickly joined the other three of them, cross bows armed and ready.
EDITH : I always wondered why my mother had tears in her eyes when she spoke of this, but I'd never have imagined this.
The immortal demon hunters Molly, Dana and Julia on their charges the magnificent winged white Unicorns appeared those flew to the skies above them. They made sure the area was safe they they flew down and joined the others, the blue glow became white as the Goddess Medusera appeared, several of the stones in the Stone-circle began to lightly glow as the hunters Judith, Alicia, Camden, Serenity, Hennen and Alison stepped from them. They all formed a circle facing the centre, their cross bows were put at their sides as the swords were raised in salute.
GODDESS MEDUSERA : Slayers join us !
The vampire slayers Guen and Hope emerged, as the demon hunters knelt to them.
The witches moved forward then knelt as the immortal, the Unicorn Gweneth appeared.
GWENETH : Friends, I will find those that cause the harm, the deaths will stop.

SCHERRY : Anne, can you show Guen around, let her meet people here, I've got a few things to arrange.
ANNE : So tell me all about yourself Guen.
GUEN : I had just had my wedding announced, my husband to be's old friend just told me I was a vampire slayer then these three Goddesses appear and bring me here, I don't know for how long, I miss my friends.
ANNE : But they won't miss you.
GUEN : They will miss me !, I was a good friend to them.
ANNE : They won't miss you, as in even if your here for a month, when you go back, it'll be like a minute has passed to them.
GUEN : That's better, I was more concerned for them than me.
ANNE : First things first, I'll get you some clothes like the ones I've got on.
Guen followed Anne up the stairs and into her room.
ANNE : Don't get me wrong, that dress is fantastic but you will look different from every-one else, ever worn one of these. Hey, you, get out of here. Two girls talking about clothes, getting changed. You Mr writer.
ME : What is it ?.
ANNE : You've got two choices, go and wait for us downstairs.
ME : What's the other choice ?.
ANNE : Rack-off !!
Then she slammed the door closed in my face.
ME : ( to myself ) Seems as though Anne wants to stand in town shouting she's the town idiot.
Downstairs Dawn, was sat in the office looking at the writings in a book, Mark and Graeves walked in.
DAWN : As far as I can work this out it seems to be in code.
MARK : That can't be right, that book is six hundred years old, a prophecy written in code ?
GRAEVES : Yeah, I agree it isn't right, what's it look like ?.
DAWN : I've copied it for each of you, the full version is,

Just then Anne walked in with Guen
MARK : Aha ! a distraction !.
DAWN : No, wait, come and sit down Anne, just here.
Dawn pulls a chair for Anne to sit on and gives her a piece of paper.
ANNE : What's this ?.
DAWN : It's a prophecy, Mark found it, I'm so glad you decided to help us.
Anne looked at the writer.
ME : Ever had that dream Anne, where your running for the bus and your naked, what if it happened and you weren't dreaming ?.
ANNE : Oh Dawn !, I'm really glad to help you do this prophecy !.
Fifteen minutes of staring at the numbers was thoroughly entertaining for them.
ANNE : Sorry if I'm wrong but I was looking at it as being hard, if you look at it as easy, like in numerology a line of numbers, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0. The put the letters under them, that's about two and a half lines. Change the numbers to letters, the last two letters have been put at the front of the word and reversed.
DAWN : I see what you mean, the first line is, 'they are hunters'.
GRAEVES : Then it's, 'when, the blue lady, asks for help'. Oh here it is, it's the prophecy, ' the keeper of the light is revealed'.
DAWN : The last line is, 'prophecy for Pitts', I don't understand it though.
MARK : Don't worry about it, when it happens we'll soon find out.
DAWN : Yes, but a prophecy for a vampire ?.
GUEN : Wait, did you say that this Pitts is a vampire.
ANNE : Settle down, Pitts is quite a nice person, just don't tell him hear that, Graeves is a vampire, so is Westy, Dani and Leia used to be vampires, their sire is now a Goddess. She removed the demon from herself and helped about five hundred other vampires to do the same. She was tested by getting her to sire two vampires, she then helped them remove their demon, with the help of Pitts and Graeves. She passed the test and the two vampires, Dani and Leia, became demon hunters and she became the Goddess Darla.
GRAEVES : Speak of the devil. Guen, meet Pitts.
PITTS : Hi, I was just in the library, now I'm here, oh well !.
MARK : You were in the library ? why ?.
PITTS : I was looking up about the area around here, it said about the castle near here, Berry Pomeroy castle and it said about these ghosts there. That's why I came in here !. Who fancies a bit of ghost hunting ?.
SCHERRY : What's happening ?.
PITTS : I just suggested we go ghost hunting, it's only two or three miles from here.
SCHERRY : Sounds good to me, I was told to make sure Dawn stays here, I wasn't told why though, but Anne, Guen, you two coming ?.
PITTS : I would have asked you Guen but I don't know any thing about you.
GUEN : I was going to ask you about this castle, I've only ever seen one and that's the one the man I'm to wed lives in.
DAWN : Where's that ?.
GUEN : There isn't a name for it, but the man I'm to wed is Lord Arthur.
DAWN : Your saying you are to marry Arthur, your Guen, and I suppose there is Merlin, wgere does he fit into all this ?.
GUEN : He said he is a Guardian, why ?, and how do you know of him ?.
DAWN : There's a few tales, Merlin is probably the most famous wizard of all time, the man your to marry is better known as King Arthur, and you, of course, you, your, your The Lady Guenivere. Just keep away from Lancelot.
GUEN : I know of him, he is said to be in league with the devil, he makes up tales of people, then tells others of them, making the person sound as being horrible.
PITTS : So who else is there here ?.
SCHERRY : I just saw Chaser, Sally, Andrea and Dani.
PITTS : Every-one in the van, let's go.
MARK : I'll be in the library.
On their way to Berry Pomeroy Scherry thought to Dawn.
SCHERRY : Everything alright Dawn ?.
DAWN : I'm alone in a bid old empty house, There's something glowing upstairs, but I feel comforted with it being here.
Chaser drove along the lanes near the castle, she took the entry to the grounds keepers hut, then we she though she had enough room to turn around she stopped.
CHASER : All out that wants out !.
PITTS : Let's go to the main garden, at least that's where the ghost is meant to roam.
They wandered into the garden looking around as they went.
CHASER : Do you like surprises Pitts ?
PITTS : Why ?.
CHASER : Turn around.
Pitts looked about, then turned around.
THE BLUE LADY : Vampire, you are not allowed to be here.
The ghost floated to Graeves
THE BLUE LADY : And you should leave with it now. You, there is demon in you, but, what are you, and you, you are, oh, please forgive me.
The Blue Lady knelt.
THE BLUE LADY : Goddess I'm sorry.
SCHERRY : Please stand, these here are all friends, Chaser here is human, Sally is a vampire but a human vampire, they are vampires but they are trusted, these are all my friends.
THE BLUE LADY : I do not know what they are, they all have demon in them but they are not demons. Please go, there are vampires that try to get in here.
SCHERRY : I am safe, these three are demon hunters and Guen is a vampire slayer, these vampires will help save us, if they are needed.
PITTS : Look, if you want, we'll stay and help you, is there some where for us to sit, we'll wait and get those vamps for you.
They followed The Blue Lady to the paved area near the house. A table and some chairs were moved so that the other vampires could be seen. Graeves picked up and began reading the paper.
GRAEVES : Sorry, is this your newspaper ?.
THE BLUE LADY : It's of no use to me, unfortunately I cannot read or write.
PITTS : Two things here, your name is a bit long, alright if we call you Blue. The other thing is, if you want to, we'll teach you how to read and write.
BLUE : I'd love to be able to read, it'd give me something else to do. I have a name for every flower here on every plant here.
GRAEVES : Anything else you'd like 'cos we've got a few books on gardening.
We'll teach you, but you'll have to come to our place during the day.
BLUE : Why don't you like the day ?.
PITTS : Most vampires are the same, sunlight can kill us.
BLUE : That explains why those ones didn't come during the day, I never knew that.
DANI : Speaking of those vampires, that four, is that them ?.
Quick as a flash the slayer and the hunters were behind the vampires. Scherry stood up, surprising them. The vampires turned around.
PITTS : Get them !.
Blue went straight through the wall to them, the vampires all grabbed her and thrust her to the ground, Pitts leapt over the wall as Blue called him to get them of her. They stood and looked at each other.
ANDREA : Guen killed all four of those vampires, I saw her use a sword on them.
PITTS : So what's wrong with that ?.
ANDREA : Well, if you search us, no-one has a sword !.
They all looked at each other.
GRAEVES : I've got an idea, maybe, just maybe, the sword that came from the lady of the lake is more magical than even the stories would have us believe.
Even on the way back to Hillhouse, Chaser drove slower than usual, several times she nearly asked Blue questions. Back at Hillhouse Dani was sorting out the bits of paper into neat stacks, puzzled she approached Graeves.
DANI : Those bits of paper on the office desk, they seemed to refer to a prophecy, has any-one else thought of it. It's just that the Blue Lady just asked Pitts for help !.
DAWN : So what is the keeper of the light ?.
GUEN : I've heard of that many times, men that came back from battle often said of a light at the end of a tunnel.
SCHERRY : That's right Guen, in a near death experience many people talk of a tunnel with a light at the end of it, some say about a figure at the end of the tunnel, Pitts will be one of those who is the keeper of that light.
DAWN : Speaking of lights, what about my ghostly light ?.
Scherry went up the stairs, returning half a minute later, that wasn't a ghost Dawn, that was a Goddess keepikg you company.

Guen wandered into the office, she saw Dawn, Garet, Dani and Hope.
DANI : Hello Guen !, come in.
GUEN : What are you all doing ?.
GARET : Sorting out any events that are happening this week, so that when a customer asks what is going on around here we'll be able to tell them.
DANI : Has this happened many times before ?.
DAWN : Has what happened ?.
DANI : Two chosen one's, both of them being a current chosen one. They're meeting ?.
GARET : Scherry !, come in Scherry, have you got anything planned for today, and details please.
SCHERRY : I was going to go somewhere, and do some organising for tonight, why ?.
GARET : Want some company ? I need to stay here, but if you could take these few.
DAWN : Where is it that you are going Scherry ?.
SCHERRY : I'm going to help a ghost, some company might help.
Scherry had taken then to a road near the Rollright Stone-circle.
SCHERRY : Sometimes a horse drawn coach comes along here.
DANI : What's with that ?.
SCHERRY : The first time they made this trip was about a hundred and seven years ago, they are virtually invisible but they can be heard, I'm going to get them to take a detour, to the circle.
DAWN : We're to help them ?.
SCHERRY : That's the idea, there is another reason, the trip here is to meet the witches of the, two of them are vampires.
DAWN : So how about Blue to help with the ghosts, then Dani and Leia to help with the vampires.
SCHERRY : I didn't realise it before the other night, about them. So an introduction to the girls there would be good. Dani, those vampires they were helped by the one that sired you and Leia.
DANI : Meeting our mum would be good then, getting Graeves and Pitts will be nice.
SCHERRY : Okay, there's a few to contact about tonight then.
As the night grew older Scherry with Darla, Dani, Leia, Blue, Pitts, Graeves, Guen and Hope waited for their unknowing company.
GRAEVES : Scherry, when I removed the demon from me, could I have kept a bit more of it ?.
SCHERRY : Why ?.
GRAEVES : Oh if I had a bit more I wouldn't feel the so much, it's flamin' cold.
HOPE : That's an odd statement, I would have thought that flames are seen as hot things.
SCHERRY : If the flames are used for divination they can be blue, they are not seen as hot, so if it was cold then you'd get flamin' cold.
PITTS : Keep quiet, we've got company.
Four people entered the circle, they collected all the rubbish from during the day and put it in the bin. Leia went towards them. The witches stopped and looked at her.
LEIA : It is you two that I want to speak to.
WITCH : Why do you want to speak to them and not us ?.
LEIA : Because they are vampires, you are not.
DANIEL : You know what we are, you are not, oh no !, your a demon hunter.
LEIA : The one that sired me, she helped you, do you remember her name ?.
DANIEL : We will never forget her, but your a demon hunter, how could she have sired you ?.
WITCH : If you don't mind, what's all the talk about demons and vampires ?.
LEIA : Vampires are demons.
GODDESS DARLA : As you can see, I am no longer a vampire. Daniel, Gerard, it's good to see both of you again. You've met Leia, now meet Dani.
HOPE : Didn't think of it before, but I like it, has any-one got a camera. I'm going to call them Darla and her daughters.
The others followed Hope out from the shadows.
SCHERRY : You two witches are Karen and Jennifer. There are some ghosts about to be here, they are the coach that comes along the road.
KAREN : Your referring to Lord and Lady Swinton, they were attacked by robbers and killed, them, the men up top, the horses. What are you going to do ?
SCHERRY : Find out where they are going, and why, then offer them our help.
JENNIFER : They were hit before Stow, so they didn't get to rest the horses, travelling this way would mean to me they were travelling to Oxford or London.
PITTS : It could be that the horses would never have made it that far, if the horses get that refreshment now will they make it ?.
KAREN : Do ghosts eat ?.
SCHERRY : Blue.
BLUE : Ghosts can eat, but they'd get no nourishment from the food, how-ever it would make them think that.
JENNIFER : I've got a few buckets of horse food in them back of my car, if it'll help them ?.
As Jennifer went to get her car a horse drawn carriage was heard coming towards them, the sound from the wheels stopped but the horses heavy breathing indicated they were very near. Blue went to them, she held out her hand as a horse appeared licking her hand, Blue brought each horse and the footmen into view. As Jennifer got back, the carriage appeared. Lord Swinton alighted fom it then held his hand for Lady Swinton.
LORD SWINTON : Where are we ?.
BLUE : These are the Rollright Stones, you were attacked by robbers before Stow, Are you going to London ?.
LORD SWINTON : Yes, did you see the robbers ?.
BLUE : No, that was over a hundred years ago, you are all ghosts now.
LADY SWINTON : I 'm was always afraid of ghosts, should I still be afraid ?.
BLUE : Not here, these people all want to help you.
LORD SWINTON : How did you get here, I see no other horses .
JENNIFER : By car, oh, that's horseless carriages to you.
LORD SWINTON : Now there's a name I recognise, I lent some money to a friend of mine, one of his friends was trying to start a business building those things, his name was Mr. Daimler. The name was The Daimler Motor Company I think, but that was in the eighteen ninety's.
JENNIFER : My car isn't a Daimler, but because of those early cars the modern ones are built the way they are, your welcome to look at it.
DANI : Lady Swinton, where were you going ?.
One of the footmen stepped forward.
HAROLD : That would be for me, I had just been accepted as a footman, the journey was to get my wife from London to come and live with me, oh, I hope she isn't still waiting for us !.
BLUE : If she is a ghost she could be still waiting.
SCHERRY : Then go, if you would take Harold with you.
Blue and Harold faded in to the night
SCHERRY : Oh no, my memory has let me down again.
GUEN : What is it ?, what is wrong ?.
SCHERRY : I didn't connect the dots. Harold the footman, one of the hunters was married to a Harold, when I met her she was being harrassed by vampires.
GUEN : So, can you get this hunter here before they get back ?. Let them meet each other again.
Scherry became the Goddess Medusera.
GODDESS MEDUSERA : Judith, come forth.
As if climbing a flight of stairs Judith walked from one of the stones. She knelt to the Goddess.
DANI : Some-ones got an apology to make to you Judith, but there will be good news for you. As you were helped by the Goddess once when you were waiting for your husband. Harold tried to get to you but he was attacked and killed. Blue has just taken Harold to make sure your not still waiting for him. They should be back very soon.
Scherry introduced Judith to Lord Swinton and Lady Swinton, and then to Gerald.
LEIA : Ever since that day when you were meant to meet Harold and be brought here they have been trying to get to you.
At that moment Blue and Harold re-appeared.
BLUE : There was no sign of her nor was there a prescnce of her.
HAROLD : Judith ? Judith.
LADY SWINTON : This is a wonderful day, helped by two Goddesses, we have met those who try to make us safe, we will be able to fill our coffins and go to our sleep with the knowledge that two who have been apart for over a hundred years will be able to give each other the peace they so richly deserve.
She knelt and kissed Judith's hand, as she went into the carriage she dissappeared. Lord Swinton knelt and kissed Judiths hand, he then followed his wife, the other footman, Sigmund smiled, thanked every-one, stood on the carriage and vanished. Harold kissed his wife good-bye, thanked every-one as soon as he stepped on to the carriage he and it vanished.
Judith went to the Goddess Medusera.
JUDITH : Thank you for the peace you have just given me.
Happily she went into her stone.
Hillhouse near Totnes, South Devon UK. May 24th 2006
Graham noticed the man outside, near the waste food bins. He was making meat pies for the days trade. Thinking what the man could be doing, he went in to the staff room, he opened the door and looked around the room. Two vampire slayers and fourteen hunters. One of the hunters was waiting for a blade of grass to grow long enough to be able to fall over.
GRAHAM : My my, you lot look bored, can't think of anything to do ?, why not go out back ?.
ANNE : Any reason to go out back ?.
ANDREA : Why go outside ?, we'll be just as bored out there.
GRAHAM : You could ask that guy why he seems to be sucking the red meat.
Andrea looked at Anne. Suddenly Graham was pushed aside as they all tried to get outside.
ANNE : Found anything interesting in there ?.
The vampire turned around.
STEWART : Please, just leave me alone, all I want is some raw meat and I'll be gone.
ANDREA : Sorry, but that's not going to happen.
STEWART : Your her, aren't you ?.
ANDREA : No, they are her, er them.
STEWART : Look I'm a vampire, your a hunter. That's a good reason not to be here.
ANDREA : There's an abattoir nearby, why not go there ?.
STEWART : It's to near to town, I don't want people to see me like this.
DANI : There's plenty of blood, just walking around, wait...
STEWART : I've got a hard enough job as it is, I don't want to hurt anyone, please your not helping me.
LEIA : I'll get Graeves, have a seat Stewart, I'll be back with some pigs blood.
Stewart sat down, he cautiously eyed those around him.
STEWART : I was told there was a demon hunter here, I didn't know there was all of you here.
ANNE : That could be taken two ways.
Dani sat near to Stewart.
ANNE : We are not all the hunters, and we are not all hunters.
STEWART : But you all feel the same, you two are a bit different.
ANNE : Can you come a bit closer Hope.
As Hope drew closer Stewart expression changed.
STEWART : Good grief, your the slayer !. What are you doing here ?, are you after them ?.
ANNE : Guen can you come here ?.
STEWART : Your a slayer, hang on, there's two, how ?.
ANNE : How is your knowledge of English history Stewart ?.
STEWART : Not to good, all I was ever taught was about was the Roman invasion of this country. That's odd, another vampire I met, she was big on this country being good again, she was really big on it though, said her real dad was a King, Harold the second she said, she told me to come down here and try to find Pitts or Scherry.
ANDREA : Graeves, reckon this vampire needs some of your help, I'd like to know more of that other vamp though. This one said that the other vampire said her dad was a King.
GRAEVES : Guen, Hope get Scherry here, in either form. The others there, were they Carrisma and Paul ?.
STEWART : Yes, that was them, how did you know that ?.
GRAEVES : Did that other one, did she say that stuff to you in passing or did you talk to each other ?.
STEWART : Must admit, she was a breathe of fresh air, we must have talked for hours, we started to talk in the early hours. We were in a barn, away from the main house, we talked so much we lost track of time, the sun came up and we couldn't get back to the house, so we kept on talking and when it was dark, we were still talking back in the house.
GRAEVES : Hear that Scherry ? what do you think ?.
SCHERRY : Sounds like June has a friend, been down here long Stewart ?.
STEWART : It's the second day, strange really. The place I was at yeserday I didn't dare sleep, it's just up the road from here, I thought that these lot were going to get them. They have been many others there, I did think that they had been trying to get something else.
ANDREA : Meaning what ?.
STEWART : As I left that place, I noticed a sign over the door, 'You Are Now Leaving Baals Manor'.
SCHERRY : I'd like Stewart to have some company today, Graeves and a few of you girls. Molly and Julie are tracking the others down. Guen, Hope, you two are with me.
HOPE : Where are we going ?.
SCHERRY : To ask Carrisma if she wants to help us again.
Guen looked to Hope, but she shrugged her shoulders.
As the sun went down, the front room at Hillhouse began to get full.
ANNE : What is this meeting for ?.
PITTS : Its about tonights little outing.
CHRISTINA : Aha, some fun at last.
PITTS : News has come to us about some vampires near here, they need to be stopped, there's some at Stoke Gabriel, a boat building place and some at a farm between Ipplepen and Torbryan. We will get as many of them as we can.
ANDREA : We find them, we go there, we dust them, simple.
GRAEVES : This needs to be precise, they've been trying to get to Baal, but we don't know if they're trying to talk to him or invoke him. So we must stop them.
PITTS : We organised a trap for them at the house, we are waiting to find out how they are getting there.
ANNE : So we get the cars and we follow them.
Dani walked to the front and called for hush.
DANI : It never occurred to me that no-one knew this, but all vampires can fly.
ANDREA : But we haven't seen them do that before.
PITTS : There's a reason for that, flying is left as a last resort. When as a bird they flap their wings hard, then, when they return to being a vampire the arms ache like, well, a heck of a bloody lot.
Pitts looked at Scherry, she shook her head.
PITTS : We go now.
Half an hour later thirty seven hunters and slayers, and five humans waited by the manor house, they were motionless in the bushes. Fifteen vampires congregated by the front door. The humans suddenly jumped up and began hitting metal dustbin lids together, three rocks were hurled through the windows, at each side of the house six of the hunters stood and fired their cross bows, causing seven of the vampires to explode into dust, the others fearing the worst became as bats and started to fly as netting was fired from pistols, the little bats had wire hooped around their necks. As they became vampires their heads fell off and they became as dust. Unseen by the hunters, two of the bats had escaped inside, just as Hope and Guen forced their way in, the vampires called Baal into the room.
BAAL : You again !. I did not want to be disturbed by you !.
He left them on flames.
PITTS : That wasn't all of them, there's three at Stoke that didn't come here and about a dozen of them at Torbryan.
GARET : What are the ones at tht boat builders doing Scherry ?.
SCHERRY : They've been in the boat shed all night.
GARET : We'd like to do our bit, so load us up with holy water and crosses. Us humans will go in waving the crosses and throwing the holy water about and the slayers can in and finish them off.
SCHERRY : Sounds okay, but I'd prefer the two slayers and four hunters.
Garet, May, Dawn, Graham and Mark forced open the boat shed doors, throwing the holy water onto the nearest two vampires, pushing the crosses against them. The vampires looked at them and smiled.
MAY : Help !, Scherry, help !.
The humans ran from the building, Scherry took them away from there, returning them to Hillhouse.
GUEN : Why didn't you use your stuff ?.
GARET : We did, but it had no effect on them.
ANNE : Scherry, we need a meeting and fast.
At Hillhouse, the front room was full again.
ANNE : Where did we get the holy water and those crosses from ?.
RICHARD : There's a supplier in Exeter, why ?.
ANNE : They didn't work !.
RICHARD : They what !. I wonder, if they had come from some place that mass produced the crosses, and the holy water had been blessed by some-one who may have been taught by another who was self taught, then its possible the official link wasn't there.
SCHERRY : I'll fix it.
She went out the back, then half a minute later she came back in.
SCHERRY : Here you are !.
Scherry gave Pitts a small bag with bits of wood and a camera.
PITTS : What, what is this ?.
SCHERRY : I went back in time to the cruxifiction, I took at few scrapings from the cross. Then I took about twenty four photos of Jesus on the cross. Must admit though, the roman guards and the two others on the crosses were very surprised at my appearing in front of them, glowing and all, but the flashes from the camera really did it for them. I never thought the roman soldiers could run that fast in armour.
PITTS : We'll get the photos done, as big as we can. We should make our own crosses from now, where the two bits join if a scraping is placed there, it will get the desired effect.
RICHARD : I would imagine it would get a lot more than that.
GARET : One way to find out.
The next evening Garet walked into the boat shed, he loudly announced his prescence.
Back at Hillhouse Garet was still wide eyed.
ANNE : Well, what happened ?.
GARET : You were right Richard, I got them to look at me, then I held up the photo. They imploded, there wasn't even any dust afterwards, even their aura seemed to go into them.

Guen, Elspeth, Roseana and Aldsgrey sat in the carriage, waving to their friends and families. Six of his Lordships guards were leading the way and six were the carriage. Slowly their village of Inavere faded into the distance. Elspeth looked out as the place where the old lord lived came into view.
ELSPETH : Ever wondered what our lives would be like if we hadn't told them how to build the walls around that place ?.
ALDSGREY : But we did do that place, and it's a lot better for it, what I remember is how we came to design that place.
GUEN : Did put a feather in our hats didn't it.
ROSEANA : Let's see, just because we managed to see the Kings outriders, and the Kings guards, then Elspeth went into the Lords private room without any-one seeing her.
ELSPETH : He was pleased, mind you, being ready for the Kings surprise test made him happier, that helped us get noticed. But Aldsgrey's place for his sons castle was a big help.
GUEN : And the people in the village were happy as we got a feast from it.
ROSEANA : What about you Aldsgrey, any of our adventures come to mind ?.
ALDSGREY : Not so much of an adventure, when we made the escape path in the river. How many times were we told off for throwing stones in the river, but when we told every-one what we had done.
ELSPETH : How the talk of us changed, but when the whole village escaped an attack because of what we had done, now that was good.
ROSEANA : I liked how we helped those forest animals two years ago.
GUEN : How we said that we weren't children anymore because we were thirteen, did any-one agree with us ?.
ROSEANA : I reckon it was that that changed Ruhtra, the lords son. Remember how he always wanted to kill things, but after that he stood and considered what benefits could be done to himself, to others and to them. Mind you they were strange animals.
ELSPETH : What were they ?. I've never seen anything like them. If you think about it, all we gave them was friendship. Nothing compared to what they gave us.
ALDSGREY : That may have been worth a lot to them, 'cos before then, they had spent their lives hidden away from us.
GUEN : They did quite a bit, helped us do our crops better, made the forest safe for the children of the village. They showed us how to use the trees for our benefit, they did the paths, removed rocks and opened up areas for us to play in.
ELSPETH : What about you Guen ? Anything that you can think of ?.
GUEN : Well the big time for me was helping those nun's.
ROSEANA : How did you get the Lord to let them have those buildings ?.
GUEN : That was down to Elspeth, she had said how we had all helped out around the area, he said he was returning some of what he owed us.
ALDSGREY : Well I like the name they gave the place, Byavere, just because it was near our village.
ELSPETH : Then the nuns began to call you Guen The I vere.
GUEN : But what the King and the Lord did !. Giving me the honour of letting me use the title Lady, that got us all into some lovely Balls at the lords manor.
ALDSGREY : The Lords son, Ruhtra, teaching you how to dance. Remember that ?.
ELSPETH : It may have crossed her mind once or twice, each day.
GUEN : I don't know what you mean !.
ROSEANA : The villagers certainly made it easier to say that name, I'll never forget that ball we went to when they called out the name you were known as, Lady Guenivere. Even Friends of the King had heard of you.
Elspeth leaned out of the carriage door, then turned to her friends.
ELSPETH : I can see the castle, it looks good Aldsgrey.
ALDSGREY : They were impressed by it, but mainly because it is very hard to successfully attack. So Guen, soon you'll be as good as married.
GUEN : I know, I also know that you, my friends will still be near me, I must admit I have always wanted to meet Ruhtra's grandfather's friend, seems he has helped Ruhtra a lot since his father died.
The castle loomed before them, people leant out from the windows, as they drew closer the cheering could be heard. In the walls of the castle the sound of the cheering became very loud, but when Guen stepped out of the carriage it was very hard for her not to smile. Guen and her friends went into the doorway of the castle and there was Lord Ruhtra and his grandfathers friend, Merlin. Lord Ruhtra kissed Guen on the cheek, then signalled with his hands for the crowds to be quiet.
LORD RUHTRA : I wish to announced to you, that because of my friends I have become a different person to that of when I was growing up. So as of today I will complete my change and I will change my name around, from Ruhtra to Arthur.
The festivites began, at a ball that night their betrothal was formerly announced. Merlin told them during the evening that he had a special announcement to make to them, he had decided to make use of the beauty of the lake near St. Nectan's Glen.
Later that evening Elspeth, Roseana and Aldsgrey were given a choice of what parts of the castle to stop in, the part near the spring known as Atlan Dis Worto or the Welsh part called Ava Llion Nia. During the next morning They all gathered by the stables, food was put in the carriage for them then they were taken to the Glen. Even Arthur didn't know what Merlin had planned for them.
It was a lovely day, not much cloud in the sky, the birds seemed to be gathered near them, yet they didn't make much noise, Roseana and Elspeth noticed how the animals of the field had come to be near them. Presently Merlin attracted their attention.
MERLIN : What I am going to tell you may be hard for you to accept, but it is all true. Firstly about myself, I am a wizard, but far more importantly I am A Guardian to Arthur, Arthur is a Watcher to Guen as she is The Vampire Slayer. You may not believe what I have just told you, so others are nearly here to tell you.
Arthur and Guen looked at each other, Elspeth reacted.
ELSPETH : Roseana look, the animals !.
All of the animals were bending their front legs, it looked as though they were bowing.
A large glow of glorious white light, a dome ten foot high then two more domes of light blue light appeared before them, as the light began to fade three figures could be seen, each of them was cloaked in light.
GODDESS TUREE : I am the Goddess Turee, these with me are the Goddess Medusera and the Goddess T 'ara, we have come here to welcome you, to us you will be known as Guen the Vampire Slayer. Please come with us and meet another of your kind.

Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK. May 17th 2006.
Several times during the last two evenings the sky had glowed around Kenilworth Castle, the colours had been mainly white but once or twice a yellow glow and a few blue glows lit up the sky. Of course the local ghost hunters club was there, they wandered around the building with little gauges, a camera was set up to record anything 'spectral' in the area. They concentrated their gaze on the lower part of the walls and the grounds outside the castle. If only they'd have looked elsewhere.
SCHERRY : Sandra !, keep away from the middle, at some point tonight there will be some tables and chairs arriving for those in the meeting. Anne, can you stay with Sandra ?.
ANNE : I take it this is your first time to one of these do's ?.
SANDRA : Noticeable is it ?.
ANNE : Same for most of us, there may be one or two of us that have been to one, but they don't happen very often.
SANDRA : So why now ?.
ANNE : There's something wrong, something needs to be done. Word on the grapevine is that it's really big. If time permits I'll introduce you to those that come here.
SANDRA : How do you know them ?.
ANNE : I've been around for a long time, and one of the benefits of being from a place where there's more than a few of us.
SANDRA : Your from the Merry Maidens stone circle, isn't there sixteen demon hunters there, Wow. So who's going to be here ?.
ANNE : A few Goddesses, the generals of the armed forces of Byzantium and Bouicandeni.
Tables and chairs began to appear in the castle grounds.
SANDRA : There's a lot of chairs.
ANNE : Like I said, there's something big on. Come on, we're to join those at the entry. We're there to stop any-one getting in.
SANDRA : Like who ?.
As they walked their clothes changed to that of their battle uniform, even Xena would have been proud of them wearing her type of outfit.
ANNE : There's some ghost hunters nearby, all there equipment,it's to test for the dead, even the immortals wouldn't raise a beep from their stuff.
While the meeting was happening the hunters guarded the gateway.
ANNE : Leia, over here, what's going on ?.
LEIA : I only caught a bit, but it seems they're talking about the humans wearing the blood of their partner in a little vial around their necks. There was something about the Rollright stones, but there is some powerful vampire is causing an occasional tremor. They are on about getting two slayers, one of them is here with us and the others about eight hundred years old.
ANNE : I hope I'm not the slayer, but that other one is going to have some fun !.
SANDRA : Why ?.
ANNE : She'll go back with modern weapons, modern make-up and modern clothes, the thing about slayers is they won't be immortal when they die, so it'll be something important.
LEIA : That was quick, they're going.
ANNE : Come-on Scherry, what's going to happen, please tell, please !.
SCHERRY : Oh Anne, at least try to behave like a lady.
ANNE : Yeah okay, I'll start tomorrow.
SCHERRY : I hope you didn't pick up any of her bad habits. Oh, sorry Anne I seem to have forgotten what we were talking about.
As people travelled through Stow-In-The-Wold they began to feel better for some reason, even today there seemed to be a calmness and a welcoming despite the twenty three murders. In the papers people were told to be watchful as the police had no clues. The elderly, the infirm and the disabled had more than the normal visitors, even loners were glad at the extra attention.
On the last six nights the Witches of the Rollright had met to summon the protector. On the previous night one of them, Karen, had called a halt to their proceedings saying that they needed to go to the old place to summon the one.
It was a normal Sunday afternoon, the place was packed, from the coach tours, holiday makers, locals and the Morris Dancers, even though they were normal dancers they got centre stage for every performance. Today was no exception, their parking spaces were kept clear, happily they began to ready themselves. Further back near the edge of the town a lone figure walked towards them. She (Karen) was dressed in a large monks habit that had a big hood that shaded her face, she carried a six foot staff that she hit the path with every second step, elderly folk moved out of her way then bowed to her as she passed them. Karen went up to Tony, the leader of the Morris Dancers.
KAREN : You'll need to wait until we have finished.
TONY : Why, is to a sacred day for you ?.
KAREN : Why did you say that ?.
TONY : Look at you, you look like a witch dressed like that.
KAREN : If that's what it takes for you to stay here.
Karen went into the road and caste a line from one side to the other, then she walked along the road and caste another line. As she went to the middle six more figures walked along the road towards her every time their staffs hit the road the sound of an echo was heard. When they had greeted Karen they removed their robes, they then put a single bell on their left arm and left leg and two bells on their right arm and leg. Three bells were put on each staff about half way up the staff. Young children pointed at them and laughed, some of their parents watched in awe, a couple joked about them. An elderly woman came out of the bakery shop to see what the fuss was about, her daughter followed her.
Mary : Mum, what on earth do they think they are doing.
Her mother looked around.
Edith : Hmm, I think it's them Mary.
Mary : Who ?.
Edith : They might be the witches of the Rollright.
The seven of them walked into the road, facing inward they hit the road seven times, then stood still.
Mary : What makes you think they are witches ?.
EDITH : I remember my mother telling me of a time that this would happen. When seven would come into town and begin a call of sevens and nines. MARY : What ?
EDITH : When we went into the shop, I said about some-one drawing an imaginery line across the road, now I see what she did, a line of protection. With there being seven of them, they just struck the road seven times, nine bells for each of them.
MARY : What good is an imaginery line going to do ?.
EDITH : Well, no cars have gone past that line.
MARY : So what was that striking the road thing. And how do you know that stuff ?.
EDITH : Because my mother said of it, several times. If it's what she said they just opened the lines of communication. They may be calling the Unicorn.
MARY : Why would they call an animal ?.
EDITH : The Unicorn is said to have been the title of a high priestess of the Cotswold Covens, several hundred years ago.
As one, the seven faced away from the circle, moved three paces to the right then struck the road seven times, then six paces to the left striking the road seven times. They faced the centre of the circle again and struck the road seven times. They then knelt and bowed to the middle then stood, faced away from the circle and bowed again, they each moved sideways to the right one step hitting the road once, that was repeated until the road had been struck seven times. Once again they faced the centre of the circle, but this time they knelt on both knees and put the staff with the ends forming a circle.
MARY : I hope they are witches 'cos that wasn't very entertaining.
EDITH : They are witches, that was what my mother said might happen, it's an ancient ritual, umm, oh !, look at the middle of their staffs.
The crowds of onlookers suddenly realised that something wasn't quite right.
Karen saw the small dome of light in the centre of the circle.
KAREN : The call has been made and heard, now we go to the stones and wait.
Mary : What stones ?.
EDITH : She'll mean the Rollright Stone-circle, we'll go there in a minute or two I just need to get some bread and marg first.
She was just in the shop when the shopkeeper asked her to get what she wanted as they were about to close for the day. The shopkeepers father was just boiling some water for the coffee he was going to take for the witches.
There were several cars at the Stone-circle when Edith and Mary got there, several more cars were heading that way.
Slowly the layers of darkness began to herald the night. Edith looked around, some of the witches were being given hot drinks. There was at least fifty other people waiting.
MARY : It's starting to get a bit cold, are we going to be here much longer.
EDITH : No, the air seems to be getting warm now, and it's almost seven o'clock, it'll be very soon.
Suddenly a clear blue light appeared, bursting from the circle appeared the demon hunters Anne, Saffron and Dani in the battle uniforms, they each raised their cross bows, aimed, then looked around.
ANNE : CLEAR !
SAFFRON : CLEAR !
DANI : CLEAR !
From the centre of the circle came the demon hunters Felicity, Leia, Christine, Davina, Sandy, Kyles and Chandelle. They quickly joined the other three of them, cross bows armed and ready.
EDITH : I always wondered why my mother had tears in her eyes when she spoke of this, but I'd never have imagined this.
The immortal demon hunters Molly, Dana and Julia on their charges the magnificent winged white Unicorns appeared those flew to the skies above them. They made sure the area was safe they they flew down and joined the others, the blue glow became white as the Goddess Medusera appeared, several of the stones in the Stone-circle began to lightly glow as the hunters Judith, Alicia, Camden, Serenity, Hennen and Alison stepped from them. They all formed a circle facing the centre, their cross bows were put at their sides as the swords were raised in salute.
GODDESS MEDUSERA : Slayers join us !
The vampire slayers Guen and Hope emerged, as the demon hunters knelt to them.
The witches moved forward then knelt as the immortal, the Unicorn Gweneth appeared.
GWENETH : Friends, I will find those that cause the harm, the deaths will stop.

SCHERRY : Anne, can you show Guen around, let her meet people here, I've got a few things to arrange.
ANNE : So tell me all about yourself Guen.
GUEN : I had just had my wedding announced, my husband to be's old friend just told me I was a vampire slayer then these three Goddesses appear and bring me here, I don't know for how long, I miss my friends.
ANNE : But they won't miss you.
GUEN : They will miss me !, I was a good friend to them.
ANNE : They won't miss you, as in even if your here for a month, when you go back, it'll be like a minute has passed to them.
GUEN : That's better, I was more concerned for them than me.
ANNE : First things first, I'll get you some clothes like the ones I've got on.
Guen followed Anne up the stairs and into her room.
ANNE : Don't get me wrong, that dress is fantastic but you will look different from every-one else, ever worn one of these. Hey, you, get out of here. Two girls talking about clothes, getting changed. You Mr writer.
ME : What is it ?.
ANNE : You've got two choices, go and wait for us downstairs.
ME : What's the other choice ?.
ANNE : Rack-off !!
Then she slammed the door closed in my face.
ME : ( to myself ) Seems as though Anne wants to stand in town shouting she's the town idiot.
Downstairs Dawn, was sat in the office looking at the writings in a book, Mark and Graeves walked in.
DAWN : As far as I can work this out it seems to be in code.
MARK : That can't be right, that book is six hundred years old, a prophecy written in code ?
GRAEVES : Yeah, I agree it isn't right, what's it look like ?.
DAWN : I've copied it for each of you, the full version is,

DAWN : Funny, but shouldn't you smile when you say that ?.
Just then Anne walked in with Guen
MARK : Aha ! a distraction !.
DAWN : No, wait, come and sit down Anne, just here.
Dawn pulls a chair for Anne to sit on and gives her a piece of paper.
ANNE : What's this ?.
DAWN : It's a prophecy, Mark found it, I'm so glad you decided to help us.
Anne looked at the writer.
ME : Ever had that dream Anne, where your running for the bus and your naked, what if it happened and you weren't dreaming ?.
ANNE : Oh Dawn !, I'm really glad to help you do this prophecy !.
Fifteen minutes of staring at the numbers was thoroughly entertaining for them.
ANNE : Sorry if I'm wrong but I was looking at it as being hard, if you look at it as easy, like in numerology a line of numbers, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0. The put the letters under them, that's about two and a half lines. Change the numbers to letters, the last two letters have been put at the front of the word and reversed.
DAWN : I see what you mean, the first line is, 'they are hunters'.
GRAEVES : Then it's, 'when, the blue lady, asks for help'. Oh here it is, it's the prophecy, ' the keeper of the light is revealed'.
DAWN : The last line is, 'prophecy for Pitts', I don't understand it though.
MARK : Don't worry about it, when it happens we'll soon find out.
DAWN : Yes, but a prophecy for a vampire ?.
GUEN : Wait, did you say that this Pitts is a vampire.
ANNE : Settle down, Pitts is quite a nice person, just don't tell him hear that, Graeves is a vampire, so is Westy, Dani and Leia used to be vampires, their sire is now a Goddess. She removed the demon from herself and helped about five hundred other vampires to do the same. She was tested by getting her to sire two vampires, she then helped them remove their demon, with the help of Pitts and Graeves. She passed the test and the two vampires, Dani and Leia, became demon hunters and she became the Goddess Darla.
GRAEVES : Speak of the devil. Guen, meet Pitts.
PITTS : Hi, I was just in the library, now I'm here, oh well !.
MARK : You were in the library ? why ?.
PITTS : I was looking up about the area around here, it said about the castle near here, Berry Pomeroy castle and it said about these ghosts there. That's why I came in here !. Who fancies a bit of ghost hunting ?.
SCHERRY : What's happening ?.
PITTS : I just suggested we go ghost hunting, it's only two or three miles from here.
SCHERRY : Sounds good to me, I was told to make sure Dawn stays here, I wasn't told why though, but Anne, Guen, you two coming ?.
PITTS : I would have asked you Guen but I don't know any thing about you.
GUEN : I was going to ask you about this castle, I've only ever seen one and that's the one the man I'm to wed lives in.
DAWN : Where's that ?.
GUEN : There isn't a name for it, but the man I'm to wed is Lord Arthur.
DAWN : Your saying you are to marry Arthur, your Guen, and I suppose there is Merlin, wgere does he fit into all this ?.
GUEN : He said he is a Guardian, why ?, and how do you know of him ?.
DAWN : There's a few tales, Merlin is probably the most famous wizard of all time, the man your to marry is better known as King Arthur, and you, of course, you, your, your The Lady Guenivere. Just keep away from Lancelot.
GUEN : I know of him, he is said to be in league with the devil, he makes up tales of people, then tells others of them, making the person sound as being horrible.
PITTS : So who else is there here ?.
SCHERRY : I just saw Chaser, Sally, Andrea and Dani.
PITTS : Every-one in the van, let's go.
MARK : I'll be in the library.
On their way to Berry Pomeroy Scherry thought to Dawn.
SCHERRY : Everything alright Dawn ?.
DAWN : I'm alone in a bid old empty house, There's something glowing upstairs, but I feel comforted with it being here.
Chaser drove along the lanes near the castle, she took the entry to the grounds keepers hut, then we she though she had enough room to turn around she stopped.
CHASER : All out that wants out !.
PITTS : Let's go to the main garden, at least that's where the ghost is meant to roam.
They wandered into the garden looking around as they went.
CHASER : Do you like surprises Pitts ?
PITTS : Why ?.
CHASER : Turn around.
Pitts looked about, then turned around.
THE BLUE LADY : Vampire, you are not allowed to be here.
The ghost floated to Graeves
THE BLUE LADY : And you should leave with it now. You, there is demon in you, but, what are you, and you, you are, oh, please forgive me.
The Blue Lady knelt.
THE BLUE LADY : Goddess I'm sorry.
SCHERRY : Please stand, these here are all friends, Chaser here is human, Sally is a vampire but a human vampire, they are vampires but they are trusted, these are all my friends.
THE BLUE LADY : I do not know what they are, they all have demon in them but they are not demons. Please go, there are vampires that try to get in here.
SCHERRY : I am safe, these three are demon hunters and Guen is a vampire slayer, these vampires will help save us, if they are needed.
PITTS : Look, if you want, we'll stay and help you, is there some where for us to sit, we'll wait and get those vamps for you.
They followed The Blue Lady to the paved area near the house. A table and some chairs were moved so that the other vampires could be seen. Graeves picked up and began reading the paper.
GRAEVES : Sorry, is this your newspaper ?.
THE BLUE LADY : It's of no use to me, unfortunately I cannot read or write.
PITTS : Two things here, your name is a bit long, alright if we call you Blue. The other thing is, if you want to, we'll teach you how to read and write.
BLUE : I'd love to be able to read, it'd give me something else to do. I have a name for every flower here on every plant here.
GRAEVES : Anything else you'd like 'cos we've got a few books on gardening.
We'll teach you, but you'll have to come to our place during the day.
BLUE : Why don't you like the day ?.
PITTS : Most vampires are the same, sunlight can kill us.
BLUE : That explains why those ones didn't come during the day, I never knew that.
DANI : Speaking of those vampires, that four, is that them ?.
Quick as a flash the slayer and the hunters were behind the vampires. Scherry stood up, surprising them. The vampires turned around.
PITTS : Get them !.
Blue went straight through the wall to them, the vampires all grabbed her and thrust her to the ground, Pitts leapt over the wall as Blue called him to get them of her. They stood and looked at each other.
ANDREA : Guen killed all four of those vampires, I saw her use a sword on them.
PITTS : So what's wrong with that ?.
ANDREA : Well, if you search us, no-one has a sword !.
They all looked at each other.
GRAEVES : I've got an idea, maybe, just maybe, the sword that came from the lady of the lake is more magical than even the stories would have us believe.
Even on the way back to Hillhouse, Chaser drove slower than usual, several times she nearly asked Blue questions. Back at Hillhouse Dani was sorting out the bits of paper into neat stacks, puzzled she approached Graeves.
DANI : Those bits of paper on the office desk, they seemed to refer to a prophecy, has any-one else thought of it. It's just that the Blue Lady just asked Pitts for help !.
DAWN : So what is the keeper of the light ?.
GUEN : I've heard of that many times, men that came back from battle often said of a light at the end of a tunnel.
SCHERRY : That's right Guen, in a near death experience many people talk of a tunnel with a light at the end of it, some say about a figure at the end of the tunnel, Pitts will be one of those who is the keeper of that light.
DAWN : Speaking of lights, what about my ghostly light ?.
Scherry went up the stairs, returning half a minute later, that wasn't a ghost Dawn, that was a Goddess keepikg you company.

Guen wandered into the office, she saw Dawn, Garet, Dani and Hope.
DANI : Hello Guen !, come in.
GUEN : What are you all doing ?.
GARET : Sorting out any events that are happening this week, so that when a customer asks what is going on around here we'll be able to tell them.
DANI : Has this happened many times before ?.
DAWN : Has what happened ?.
DANI : Two chosen one's, both of them being a current chosen one. They're meeting ?.
GARET : Scherry !, come in Scherry, have you got anything planned for today, and details please.
SCHERRY : I was going to go somewhere, and do some organising for tonight, why ?.
GARET : Want some company ? I need to stay here, but if you could take these few.
DAWN : Where is it that you are going Scherry ?.
SCHERRY : I'm going to help a ghost, some company might help.
Scherry had taken then to a road near the Rollright Stone-circle.
SCHERRY : Sometimes a horse drawn coach comes along here.
DANI : What's with that ?.
SCHERRY : The first time they made this trip was about a hundred and seven years ago, they are virtually invisible but they can be heard, I'm going to get them to take a detour, to the circle.
DAWN : We're to help them ?.
SCHERRY : That's the idea, there is another reason, the trip here is to meet the witches of the, two of them are vampires.
DAWN : So how about Blue to help with the ghosts, then Dani and Leia to help with the vampires.
SCHERRY : I didn't realise it before the other night, about them. So an introduction to the girls there would be good. Dani, those vampires they were helped by the one that sired you and Leia.
DANI : Meeting our mum would be good then, getting Graeves and Pitts will be nice.
SCHERRY : Okay, there's a few to contact about tonight then.
As the night grew older Scherry with Darla, Dani, Leia, Blue, Pitts, Graeves, Guen and Hope waited for their unknowing company.
GRAEVES : Scherry, when I removed the demon from me, could I have kept a bit more of it ?.
SCHERRY : Why ?.
GRAEVES : Oh if I had a bit more I wouldn't feel the so much, it's flamin' cold.
HOPE : That's an odd statement, I would have thought that flames are seen as hot things.
SCHERRY : If the flames are used for divination they can be blue, they are not seen as hot, so if it was cold then you'd get flamin' cold.
PITTS : Keep quiet, we've got company.
Four people entered the circle, they collected all the rubbish from during the day and put it in the bin. Leia went towards them. The witches stopped and looked at her.
LEIA : It is you two that I want to speak to.
WITCH : Why do you want to speak to them and not us ?.
LEIA : Because they are vampires, you are not.
DANIEL : You know what we are, you are not, oh no !, your a demon hunter.
LEIA : The one that sired me, she helped you, do you remember her name ?.
DANIEL : We will never forget her, but your a demon hunter, how could she have sired you ?.
WITCH : If you don't mind, what's all the talk about demons and vampires ?.
LEIA : Vampires are demons.
GODDESS DARLA : As you can see, I am no longer a vampire. Daniel, Gerard, it's good to see both of you again. You've met Leia, now meet Dani.
HOPE : Didn't think of it before, but I like it, has any-one got a camera. I'm going to call them Darla and her daughters.
The others followed Hope out from the shadows.
SCHERRY : You two witches are Karen and Jennifer. There are some ghosts about to be here, they are the coach that comes along the road.
KAREN : Your referring to Lord and Lady Swinton, they were attacked by robbers and killed, them, the men up top, the horses. What are you going to do ?
SCHERRY : Find out where they are going, and why, then offer them our help.
JENNIFER : They were hit before Stow, so they didn't get to rest the horses, travelling this way would mean to me they were travelling to Oxford or London.
PITTS : It could be that the horses would never have made it that far, if the horses get that refreshment now will they make it ?.
KAREN : Do ghosts eat ?.
SCHERRY : Blue.
BLUE : Ghosts can eat, but they'd get no nourishment from the food, how-ever it would make them think that.
JENNIFER : I've got a few buckets of horse food in them back of my car, if it'll help them ?.
As Jennifer went to get her car a horse drawn carriage was heard coming towards them, the sound from the wheels stopped but the horses heavy breathing indicated they were very near. Blue went to them, she held out her hand as a horse appeared licking her hand, Blue brought each horse and the footmen into view. As Jennifer got back, the carriage appeared. Lord Swinton alighted fom it then held his hand for Lady Swinton.
LORD SWINTON : Where are we ?.
BLUE : These are the Rollright Stones, you were attacked by robbers before Stow, Are you going to London ?.
LORD SWINTON : Yes, did you see the robbers ?.
BLUE : No, that was over a hundred years ago, you are all ghosts now.
LADY SWINTON : I 'm was always afraid of ghosts, should I still be afraid ?.
BLUE : Not here, these people all want to help you.
LORD SWINTON : How did you get here, I see no other horses .
JENNIFER : By car, oh, that's horseless carriages to you.
LORD SWINTON : Now there's a name I recognise, I lent some money to a friend of mine, one of his friends was trying to start a business building those things, his name was Mr. Daimler. The name was The Daimler Motor Company I think, but that was in the eighteen ninety's.
JENNIFER : My car isn't a Daimler, but because of those early cars the modern ones are built the way they are, your welcome to look at it.
DANI : Lady Swinton, where were you going ?.
One of the footmen stepped forward.
HAROLD : That would be for me, I had just been accepted as a footman, the journey was to get my wife from London to come and live with me, oh, I hope she isn't still waiting for us !.
BLUE : If she is a ghost she could be still waiting.
SCHERRY : Then go, if you would take Harold with you.
Blue and Harold faded in to the night
SCHERRY : Oh no, my memory has let me down again.
GUEN : What is it ?, what is wrong ?.
SCHERRY : I didn't connect the dots. Harold the footman, one of the hunters was married to a Harold, when I met her she was being harrassed by vampires.
GUEN : So, can you get this hunter here before they get back ?. Let them meet each other again.
Scherry became the Goddess Medusera.
GODDESS MEDUSERA : Judith, come forth.
As if climbing a flight of stairs Judith walked from one of the stones. She knelt to the Goddess.
DANI : Some-ones got an apology to make to you Judith, but there will be good news for you. As you were helped by the Goddess once when you were waiting for your husband. Harold tried to get to you but he was attacked and killed. Blue has just taken Harold to make sure your not still waiting for him. They should be back very soon.
Scherry introduced Judith to Lord Swinton and Lady Swinton, and then to Gerald.
LEIA : Ever since that day when you were meant to meet Harold and be brought here they have been trying to get to you.
At that moment Blue and Harold re-appeared.
BLUE : There was no sign of her nor was there a prescnce of her.
HAROLD : Judith ? Judith.
LADY SWINTON : This is a wonderful day, helped by two Goddesses, we have met those who try to make us safe, we will be able to fill our coffins and go to our sleep with the knowledge that two who have been apart for over a hundred years will be able to give each other the peace they so richly deserve.
She knelt and kissed Judith's hand, as she went into the carriage she dissappeared. Lord Swinton knelt and kissed Judiths hand, he then followed his wife, the other footman, Sigmund smiled, thanked every-one, stood on the carriage and vanished. Harold kissed his wife good-bye, thanked every-one as soon as he stepped on to the carriage he and it vanished.
Judith went to the Goddess Medusera.
JUDITH : Thank you for the peace you have just given me.
Happily she went into her stone.
Hillhouse near Totnes, South Devon UK. May 24th 2006
Graham noticed the man outside, near the waste food bins. He was making meat pies for the days trade. Thinking what the man could be doing, he went in to the staff room, he opened the door and looked around the room. Two vampire slayers and fourteen hunters. One of the hunters was waiting for a blade of grass to grow long enough to be able to fall over.
GRAHAM : My my, you lot look bored, can't think of anything to do ?, why not go out back ?.
ANNE : Any reason to go out back ?.
ANDREA : Why go outside ?, we'll be just as bored out there.
GRAHAM : You could ask that guy why he seems to be sucking the red meat.
Andrea looked at Anne. Suddenly Graham was pushed aside as they all tried to get outside.
ANNE : Found anything interesting in there ?.
The vampire turned around.
STEWART : Please, just leave me alone, all I want is some raw meat and I'll be gone.
ANDREA : Sorry, but that's not going to happen.
STEWART : Your her, aren't you ?.
ANDREA : No, they are her, er them.
STEWART : Look I'm a vampire, your a hunter. That's a good reason not to be here.
ANDREA : There's an abattoir nearby, why not go there ?.
STEWART : It's to near to town, I don't want people to see me like this.
DANI : There's plenty of blood, just walking around, wait...
STEWART : I've got a hard enough job as it is, I don't want to hurt anyone, please your not helping me.
LEIA : I'll get Graeves, have a seat Stewart, I'll be back with some pigs blood.
Stewart sat down, he cautiously eyed those around him.
STEWART : I was told there was a demon hunter here, I didn't know there was all of you here.
ANNE : That could be taken two ways.
Dani sat near to Stewart.
ANNE : We are not all the hunters, and we are not all hunters.
STEWART : But you all feel the same, you two are a bit different.
ANNE : Can you come a bit closer Hope.
As Hope drew closer Stewart expression changed.
STEWART : Good grief, your the slayer !. What are you doing here ?, are you after them ?.
ANNE : Guen can you come here ?.
STEWART : Your a slayer, hang on, there's two, how ?.
ANNE : How is your knowledge of English history Stewart ?.
STEWART : Not to good, all I was ever taught was about was the Roman invasion of this country. That's odd, another vampire I met, she was big on this country being good again, she was really big on it though, said her real dad was a King, Harold the second she said, she told me to come down here and try to find Pitts or Scherry.
ANDREA : Graeves, reckon this vampire needs some of your help, I'd like to know more of that other vamp though. This one said that the other vampire said her dad was a King.
GRAEVES : Guen, Hope get Scherry here, in either form. The others there, were they Carrisma and Paul ?.
STEWART : Yes, that was them, how did you know that ?.
GRAEVES : Did that other one, did she say that stuff to you in passing or did you talk to each other ?.
STEWART : Must admit, she was a breathe of fresh air, we must have talked for hours, we started to talk in the early hours. We were in a barn, away from the main house, we talked so much we lost track of time, the sun came up and we couldn't get back to the house, so we kept on talking and when it was dark, we were still talking back in the house.
GRAEVES : Hear that Scherry ? what do you think ?.
SCHERRY : Sounds like June has a friend, been down here long Stewart ?.
STEWART : It's the second day, strange really. The place I was at yeserday I didn't dare sleep, it's just up the road from here, I thought that these lot were going to get them. They have been many others there, I did think that they had been trying to get something else.
ANDREA : Meaning what ?.
STEWART : As I left that place, I noticed a sign over the door, 'You Are Now Leaving Baals Manor'.
SCHERRY : I'd like Stewart to have some company today, Graeves and a few of you girls. Molly and Julie are tracking the others down. Guen, Hope, you two are with me.
HOPE : Where are we going ?.
SCHERRY : To ask Carrisma if she wants to help us again.
Guen looked to Hope, but she shrugged her shoulders.
As the sun went down, the front room at Hillhouse began to get full.
ANNE : What is this meeting for ?.
PITTS : Its about tonights little outing.
CHRISTINA : Aha, some fun at last.
PITTS : News has come to us about some vampires near here, they need to be stopped, there's some at Stoke Gabriel, a boat building place and some at a farm between Ipplepen and Torbryan. We will get as many of them as we can.
ANDREA : We find them, we go there, we dust them, simple.
GRAEVES : This needs to be precise, they've been trying to get to Baal, but we don't know if they're trying to talk to him or invoke him. So we must stop them.
PITTS : We organised a trap for them at the house, we are waiting to find out how they are getting there.
ANNE : So we get the cars and we follow them.
Dani walked to the front and called for hush.
DANI : It never occurred to me that no-one knew this, but all vampires can fly.
ANDREA : But we haven't seen them do that before.
PITTS : There's a reason for that, flying is left as a last resort. When as a bird they flap their wings hard, then, when they return to being a vampire the arms ache like, well, a heck of a bloody lot.
Pitts looked at Scherry, she shook her head.
PITTS : We go now.
Half an hour later thirty seven hunters and slayers, and five humans waited by the manor house, they were motionless in the bushes. Fifteen vampires congregated by the front door. The humans suddenly jumped up and began hitting metal dustbin lids together, three rocks were hurled through the windows, at each side of the house six of the hunters stood and fired their cross bows, causing seven of the vampires to explode into dust, the others fearing the worst became as bats and started to fly as netting was fired from pistols, the little bats had wire hooped around their necks. As they became vampires their heads fell off and they became as dust. Unseen by the hunters, two of the bats had escaped inside, just as Hope and Guen forced their way in, the vampires called Baal into the room.
BAAL : You again !. I did not want to be disturbed by you !.
He left them on flames.
PITTS : That wasn't all of them, there's three at Stoke that didn't come here and about a dozen of them at Torbryan.
GARET : What are the ones at tht boat builders doing Scherry ?.
SCHERRY : They've been in the boat shed all night.
GARET : We'd like to do our bit, so load us up with holy water and crosses. Us humans will go in waving the crosses and throwing the holy water about and the slayers can in and finish them off.
SCHERRY : Sounds okay, but I'd prefer the two slayers and four hunters.
Garet, May, Dawn, Graham and Mark forced open the boat shed doors, throwing the holy water onto the nearest two vampires, pushing the crosses against them. The vampires looked at them and smiled.
MAY : Help !, Scherry, help !.
The humans ran from the building, Scherry took them away from there, returning them to Hillhouse.
GUEN : Why didn't you use your stuff ?.
GARET : We did, but it had no effect on them.
ANNE : Scherry, we need a meeting and fast.
At Hillhouse, the front room was full again.
ANNE : Where did we get the holy water and those crosses from ?.
RICHARD : There's a supplier in Exeter, why ?.
ANNE : They didn't work !.
RICHARD : They what !. I wonder, if they had come from some place that mass produced the crosses, and the holy water had been blessed by some-one who may have been taught by another who was self taught, then its possible the official link wasn't there.
SCHERRY : I'll fix it.
She went out the back, then half a minute later she came back in.
SCHERRY : Here you are !.
Scherry gave Pitts a small bag with bits of wood and a camera.
PITTS : What, what is this ?.
SCHERRY : I went back in time to the cruxifiction, I took at few scrapings from the cross. Then I took about twenty four photos of Jesus on the cross. Must admit though, the roman guards and the two others on the crosses were very surprised at my appearing in front of them, glowing and all, but the flashes from the camera really did it for them. I never thought the roman soldiers could run that fast in armour.
PITTS : We'll get the photos done, as big as we can. We should make our own crosses from now, where the two bits join if a scraping is placed there, it will get the desired effect.
RICHARD : I would imagine it would get a lot more than that.
GARET : One way to find out.
The next evening Garet walked into the boat shed, he loudly announced his prescence.
Back at Hillhouse Garet was still wide eyed.
ANNE : Well, what happened ?.
GARET : You were right Richard, I got them to look at me, then I held up the photo. They imploded, there wasn't even any dust afterwards, even their aura seemed to go into them.
