SOOO i've recently gone on a quest to hunt down a gil hibbens jackal knife to play with and i can't seem to find one that matches faith's. they're either all sold out or the wrong color. i was looking HERE (http://www.buffycollector.com) and it says that a prop replica will be released in december of this year.. does anyone have any more info? or know if it's legit? cause.. yeah it would be awesome.

There is a national knife show held in Atlanta, Georgia every June (I know that was last month, but if you have no success anywhere else, there's always June, 2008) called the Blade show. It's the largest single cutlery show anywhere in the world. The chances are that you could find a Gil Hibbens Jackal there, but be warned, as with any limited number collector's item, the price of one is almost certainly going to make it something that you would most certainly NOT want to "play with" unless your name is Trump or Rockefeller. Even then, knives aren't toys, so you should be careful with them.

If the Blade Show option doesn't work for you (there's also one on the West Coast later in the year, I believe), you can always try places like EBAY or some or the larger cutlery dealers on the internet. Be patient and you might luck out. Stranger things have happened.

thanks!! haha i'm not going to play dangerously with it. i have quite a few butterfly knives that i've collected over the years, and after looking at this one close up it makes me want it SO BAD. thanks again for the info.

As soon as that knife is up for order/pre-order I am on it! I have the scythe but to me, for some odd reason I feel it's Buffy's, even tho it really isn't just hers. So to have something so prominent to Faith would be brilliant. Thanks for sharing that link, I forgot all about that place.

Incidentally, anyone who's interested in various weapons used on Buffy and Angel might like to check out Atlanta Cutlery's website. They have several of the knives/swords/axes seen on the two shows, including the weird throwing weapon used in "Anne," which is called a "hunga munga" (honestly, that's what it's called), and the bowie knife that the bad guy used in "the Zeppo," plus an assortment of other stuff used on "Highlander," and in several movies, including the"Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Their prices are fairly reasonable, and they will ship to just about anywhere.

Awe the hunga munga, one of my buffy 12" came with that. It is a weird name for sure. Thanks, I am going to check that place out.

You can still find it many places online, like on ebay. And most likely way cheaper than it's original sale price. I paid about 230 for mine brand new. And it was worth every penny.

Ya for sure... it is all hung up. That's on my bedroom wall. I figure, if anyone breaks in, I can grab it and kick butt, haha or hide under my bed.
Sad thing is(but also a good thing since it is a prop and not a real weapon) that it is not sharp at all. But one of the points sure is. Can't push even a little on it or you will bleed.

Well, yeah the prop replica is legit unless DST (Diamond Select Toys) cancels it. Which would suck beyond reason.

Hehe I LOVE your scythe, tabularasa!! That'd be awesome to be able to kick butt with the Slayer's scythe.

Robber: Gimme the money!
tabularasa: Ok, I'll give you the money AND blunt trauma to the head! *grabs scythe*

That would be AWESOME. :D

I bought a different Hibben knife - The Griffyn - on eBay. I don't know how other variations come, but this thing isn't dangerous. I've been sucking on it a little when I play with it; the edges are so blunt but you could still scare someone with it if they didn't know. It sure looks impressive. I don't use the display stand because I like to hold it a lot.

that IS the Gil Hibbins Jackal, the knife used on the show. Notice what the bid price is now, and the bidding goes on until Feb 23. By that time, the price is going to be very VERY high, so maybe a dozen or so board members might want to form a consortium and bid on it. You could ech have it for a month a year that way.

Seriously, plan on paying a LOT for it, and good luck.

I think they canceled making this piece as a replica. And yes I expect to see this piece go for a lot by the 23rd.
