On August 4, 2007 there will be a Buffy marathon with Buffy episodes and some Angel episodes. I went to this in 2005, 2006, and am going this year. It's really fun and the reason for this Slay-a-Thon is that leading up to this event you raise money for Make-A-Wish. Last year I think everyone (all together) raised $13,000 for this charity. There are also auctions throughtout the marathon and all the money they get from that goes to Make-A-Wish as well. It's from 11 A.M-12 A.M and they serve dinner (yum!).

Also, in-between episodes they will have Buffy games that give you a chance to win Buffy related goods such as action figures, autographs, comic books, and other things (it varies each year). They also show Buffy videos that people can submit to them.

All-in-all this is one of the funnest Buffy events I have gone to! You meet great people AND you help raise money for a good cause. I hope some of you guys are able to come!

There also is a raffle contest for a mini- "Magic Box" that you can have a chance to win by buying a raffle ticket. It's a very snazzy, one-in-a-kind mini that you can use to display Buffy action figures with!

Edit:

this is the link to the website if anyone's interested!: http://slayathon.org/

Sounds cool and you say it's held in Chicago. I live close to Chicago, I'll have to check it out.

You guys should really come! :) And it's not too late to get donations (I'm still trying to squeeze change out of my family!) If anyone does decided to come, just make sure you're registered! (I think you get registered on the official website they have.)

Holy crapola. That magic shop is just amazing. I want one! I wonder if I can put one together?! Of course minus all the beautiful stuff inside of course. An outside would still be ok.
Thanks for sharing that tho. Makes me sad that it is just a bit too far for me. 8.5 hours. :(

Well, the slay-a-thon ended last week. Haha, I forgot to give an up-date!

OK, so altogether we raised $15,000, enough money for 3 wishes! And the magic box was raffled off to someone who didn't come to the event. So the person who made it has to ship it to them...which is kind of sad because it's pretty heavy and could break if you don't handle it right. (And people who ship things aren't usually too gentle...)

It was really fun, though. Lots of prizes were given out, lots of fun was being had and I hope that some of you guys come next year! :)
