James has been cast in a recurring/guest star role on the hit CBS one hour drama Without A Trace. He will portray ‘Detective Mars’, who is described as: mid 30s to 40. Attractive in a real way, a bright, full-of-life personality, charming, possibly from around the Washington DC area, so could have a slight southern accent. Mars is a Police Detective who has started to investigate what seems to be a ring of Human Trafficking. He has information our FBI team is interested in and comes to New York to speak to Vivian about what he knows. Eventually he will become part of a task force to deal with Human Trafficking.

Funny thing, I hate the show. For some reason I decided to watch the season opener and soon discovered why. I called my mom the minute I saw him and stayed on the phone with her until they showed him again. Even though I hate the show, I will watch it now!

You should tape the episodes and fast-forward through everything but his scenes. I do that for every show a Buffyverse actor is on.

ive never really watched the show, but i was watching it when he was on, and i had forgotten that he was going to be on, and i wasnt paying to much attention to it because it was mostly just something to have in the background while i did my hw.
I looked up on one of the scenes, and watched a bit, then i saw this guy going to this door and then turning back to his partner and i thought, hey he looks like james, it took me a little longer before i realized it was him, it was kinda funny.
And i liked the show, so it just became on of those shows ill watch, and not just for james, even though that was a plus

He guest stars on the show again, next Thursday, December 6, 10 pm, CBS. It's actually his third appearance on the show. He was in the second episode, but I didn't know that until after it aired. I'll let you know when that episode repeats (the first episode repeated last night, 11/29).

ARGH! I HATE having night classes! I don't get to watch C.S.I. because of this stupid Thursday night class, and now I'm missing a drooling opportunity because of it, too! At least C.S.I. gets posted online so I can watch it there! Without a Trace doesn't!
This sentence is only here so I can end yet another one with exclamation points!!!1!!eleven!!!one!!!!!!

Did anyone else think this was a waste of James' talent? I mean, he's in four episodes (1, 2, 9 and 12) and he doesn't even get a lot of screen time in those and the character is not that challenging (read: interesting). There is one mildly interesting scene at the end of episode 12, which also seems to be his last as he just walks out of there in the end and apparently never comes back...? He just seems severely underused.
Was I the only one feeling rather underwhelmed? What are you feelings?

I've never watched WAT, so I can't comment, but he was fab-boo on Smallville as Dr. Fine/Zod/Brainiac.
I really wish JM would score his own show. I almost don't care what it would be about... just as long as he's lead character *heart-flutter*... :hearton:
