Episode title: What's My Line? parts 1 & 2
(I thought we'd just discuss them both here!)
Stakes: 5
I love these two episodes. I just really liked the dynamic between Buffy and Kendra. It was just great.
Buffy: "Once again, you're the who?"
:) Classic.
I remember the very first time I watched it, I was very shocked when Xander and Cordy kissed in the basement. Now it doesn't really surprise me because I kinda see it coming from the beginning of season two.

so is this the new episode were discussing?
yes, wiccianslayer,we're diuscussing this two parter episode until September 13th
gotta say, i adore these eps...definitely two of my all time fave eps. i loved the introduction of another Slayer...at the time i did not see that coming. i sereiously thought she was another assassin. i think my reaction to 'I am Kendra, the Vampire Slayer' was probably a mirror image of Buffy's, lol.
i loved Buffy and Kendra's reaction to each other, especally Buffy. it was nice to see her get a little possessive about a job she didn't want in the first place. but i think knowing there was someone out there who was willing to take it from her gave her the push she needed to start embracing her slaying rather than just induring it.
i LOVED the Cordy/Xander scenes. i remember giggling and clapping like a loony when they kissed, 'cause i'd been shipping them since 'Prophecy Girl' and them getting together was just awesome. and the way they got together was so perfectly Cordy and Xander. it really cpuldn't have happened any other way.
i liked how Kendra and Buffy learned to get along and work together in the end, and how they both learned something from the other.
and, you know, Spike was i the ep, so that puts a big check in the plus box! lmao

I didn't see it coming either at first. The first time i knew about these eps was when i read them in a book a long time ago. that's actually when i first heard about buffy, because at the time there wasn't buffy in the tv here in portugal.
When Kendra said "I'm the Vampire Slayer" i was like "nice one. who the hell would believe that?"
i just started to believe it when Giles mentioned her watcher, and then i turned the pages back to the part where she was on the plain, and everything started to make sense.
i loved kendra and buffy chemistry, it's great when you just imagine and then watch it and you can see there is almost no difference from what you had imagined...
Cordy and Xander was not that big of surprise. you could cut that tension with a knife :D
i was reading "i hate you" and thinking "here comes a kiss" :)
those were great episodes and i love to watch them everytime. their buffy classics, and there's a lot to learn about slayers and how they feel cut off from the world sometimes.

ok, besides agreeing with liking the buffy and kendra stuff, and the cordy/xander stuff (they were great scenes, though i ship anya/xander), how could no one mention willow and oz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
this is when they first meet, after all! its so cute and sweet, especially that monkey pants on the animal crackers scene at the end! and who wouldve guessed that canapé would be his first word to her? or that he'd get shot? the willow/oz scenes are probably my favourite parts, if not tied for other scenes with them.
i also liked the whole aptitude test; that kind of thing is always cool. and i have a soft spot for seeing jonathan early before he really has a role, which is true in this episode as well! this episode's just freaking awesome! its got so much funny, and so much action! and to reiterate what lyri said, its got spike! :D
