In Nightmares, Buffy turns into a vampire. 2 questions following this:
1.Why doesn't she become one of the bad-ass vamps on a kill-crush-destroy mission? Is it because of the situation or because she is a slayer and has that immunity?

2.What would happen if a slayer does become a vampire, cause as far as i know, nobodies been one. They would be handy cause they'd know how to fight a slayer better then a vamp would, cause it would be like fighting yourself

A 3rd question would be : If Buffy had been made a vampire she would have died, what happened to the next Chosen One that would have been activated ?. After all, Kendra and Faith went to Sunnydale.

Answer to Q1
When Buffy became a vampire, the vampire would have the slayer's capabilities, not the other way around.

Q2 see A1.

I've always had a funny mental image of an ex-Slayer vampire trying to stake herself but fighting herself at the same time.

As for Buffy turning into a vampire, it was an alternate reality thing; she didn't actually die, so the next Slayer wasn't activated.

As Blondie points out she wasn't actually killed, it was a Nightmare World of worst fears.

No one knows because we don't have anything concrete but I would hazard a guess that although the Vampire would be more powerful that doesn't mean it would only know the moves of the Slayer it was. Every Slayer has their own style. The only thing that is the same is the fact they are Slayers.

That one is easy - see the answer to question 1

I think if it had not been a dream/alternate type reality than a new slayer would have been called. As soon as you lose your essence you lose, well, yourself, therefore you are dead. A new slayer would have been called but who knows where her base would have been. She may not have gone to Sunnydale. In "The Wish," Buffy did not live in Sunnydale. So I don't think that she would have come to Sunnydale per say....'she' as in the next chosen one.

actually[/I] die, so the next Slayer wasn't activated.

and also since it was an alternative reality, even if another slayer was called it would have been as if she never was called once things went back to normal

I think that she didn't go all "Crazy Vamp" because she didn't do so in her nightmare.

The footage of Darla rising when sired by Drusilla, or Liam/Angel rising when sired by Darla didn't show either of them being crazy for a drink. Just ready for a drink.

Hang on, Darla sired Angel, Angel sired Drusilla, Drusilla sired Darla, good thing Spike didn't sire Angel, that might have made it complicated.

In what sense?..........

a vampire slayer would be amazing, and something that would've been cool to see. but with vamps its like, you kill a slayer, you're a freakin martyr. i guess no one considers vamping them because maybe they feel they don't even DESERVE that, they should just die. But still, i think it'd be a great irony and that would've been cool if there was one. They should put one is season eight :)

I remember reading one of the Buffy Novels and I know these aren't considered cannon but there is a slayer who became a vampire back in the 16th century or something and she turns up in Sunnydale and kills vampires and humans, she sort of has a whole self loathing thing going on. She's REALLY strong (kicks Buffy's butt) but in the end she's killed by sunlight so sucks to be her!

Tales of the Slayer has a Slayer-turned-vamp, too. I can't remember which volume it was in.....I think this one was in the 17 or 1800's.

Well the whole point of Nightmares was to have everyone's fears come true. If Buffy had lost her soul and become an evil blood sucking fiend, she wouldn't be scared of the fact that she was a vampire. It was just an illusion of being a vampire.

Yeah, I agree with VisionGuy there that it wouldn't have been nightmarish for her unless she was aware of how bad it was to *be* a vampire, you get me? But I think she was still like wanting to feed and everything and could have been a danger to the scoobies if the hunger took over because Giles asks her 'can you hold it together long enough to help us?' and she tells them 'we'd better hurry coz i'm getting hungry' and when Xander asks if she was joking, she just erm...doesn't reply. hehe.
My question is, with sunlight pouring down outside the nightmare cemetery how the heck did they get Buffy to the hospital? Do a Spike and have under like the ubercloth|

Maybe the nighttime area followed them to the hospital, because don't they walk out the school during the day and then there's a cemetery at night just outside?

With the whole slayer turning into a vampire thing I always wondered how strong they'd be...would the vampires powers take precedence over the Slayers ability considering the demon is now in the body or is the Slayer strength there all the time or do they get both vamp and slayer strong?

Anyway, yeah, I'm with everyone else. Buffy wasn't actually killed by a vamp. It was just her nightmare, so she's still with her soul and no other slayer gets called.

I have a question I thought would fit in here.
Potential slayers are presumably not too strong, hence, could easily get vamped. So keeping this in mind, there could be hundreds of vampires out in the Buffyverse that were potential slayers during their life. Now my question, when Willow turned all the potentials into real slayers, what would've happened with potentials that had been vamped? Would they get slayer strenght?

Quite a good question, though I think the point is moot... If I'd been the First Evil, any vamped Potentials would certainly have been right on the top of my killing - or dusting - list, if there were the even SLIGHTEST chance that an undead Potential might ever receive the Calling.

So, in either case, I don't think there are any vamped Potentials turned Vamp!Slayers running around after Season 7... either it's fundamentally impossible to start out with, or the FE already did away with them.

In regard to the thread's original topic, it always seemed very clear to me that "the rules are quite different" for NightmareVamp!Buffy than for a "real" Vampire. The way she reacts towards her friends never seemed even remotely soulless-evil-demon to me, so I really wouldn't have been too surprised if we'd actually see "Vamp"!Buffy walking around in broad daylight without incendiary trouble on screen.
