Do you guys remember that episode Restless? I was just curious, did anyone like it besides me? I keep hearing people saying they hate the whole season and I was like there were a lot of really great episodes in season 4. Does anyone agree with me? :cheering:

I liked it, but then, I like psychological stuff like that.

I really did like that episode, though I think that season might be my least favorite. You're right, the season did have some good episodes but I guess it's just the overall feel of the season I didn't like. It's weird, some of the individual episodes in the season I might consider to be some of my favorites, but the season itself, I'm just like, "Meh."
But yeah, that episode was really amazing. For some reason, once in a while for no reason at all, I get the image in my mind of Riley as a cowboy saying, "I'm looking for a man...a salesman." And in school, when we were reading Death of a Salesman, I was never able to take it seriously due to that. XD

Edit:

OH, AND WHO COULD FORGET THE CHEESE MAN? Hahaha.
"I wear the cheese; the cheese does not wear me."

Heh, my favorite line is that long speech Buffy has...and then it ends with, "you MEN....and your.....SALES." LOL. I love that part.

not to mention george hertzberg (adam) was super hot without the make-up in buffy's dream. i really thought it defined the show in many ways. its one of my top 3 favorites.

I never liked season 4 until my fifth time around. Now I love it and it's one of my favorite seasons. I loved Restless, come one the cheese guy, he's so great. I thought it was quite enjoyable.

Thanks for posting those pictures, I haven't seen those before. Though I remember the first time I saw a picture of him without the Adam makeup on, and I just kinda "awwww"ed. He looks totally lovable.

I liked that episode I thought it was funny to get into everybody's dreams. I also liked season 4 although I did not like Riley very much but I thought Spike was hilarious in the whole season. So I thought it was good you are not the only one.

Restless is the best episode in season 4, in my opinion. It was funny, deep, and had some good character development. I'm not a big fan of the rest of season 4, but restless makes up for its shortcomings.

I lovelvoelovelovelove Restless, everything about it, especially Spike and Giles on the swings. I'm also a pretty big fan of season four in general, even though I thought the Initiative/Adam was kind of lame, it had some great moments in it, like the Harmony/Xander bitchfight, Spike getting the chip implanted in his brain, and the beginning of the Xander/Anya relationship.

As a whole Season 4 isn't the strongest... but I think that change really reflects what is going on in the core characters' lives. There are some brilliant episodes wrapped up inside though

Even the Big Bad being Adam and the Initiative was reflective of the fact that the characters had less of a common enemy metaphorially. It was more a background thing, where the characters themselves coming together was the most important factor rather than them having kill the Big Bad

Restless though is one of my all time fave Buffy episodes... its brillo pads!

Restless rocks! It's one of my all time favourite episodes. It's funny seeing into the gangs dreams. I always forget Xander is dreaming when he seems to wake up I remember when Buffy offers him popcorn 'Is it butter flavour?' and she says 'New car smell' 'cause that totally makes no sense which is how i get it :p And you gotta love the cheese man! The whole episode is wicked funny and wicked awesome!

I actually really love this season! restless is my second fave ep after hush!!! Season 4 was very strong for me! I think restless was very creative and a different sort of finale instead of the whole "final fight" thing like pretty much all the other finales!

Oh, I totally love "Restless". I think that's the best episode of the whole 4rth season followed by "Hush".

"Hush" was cool one too, but "Restless" was much deeper, playing with all that subconscious stuff and "spoilering" the whole 5th season. ;)

Yet, of course, it was also very hilarious one too.

I think people say that season four is one of the 'weaker' seasons because everyone's not such a tight-nit group, and they're all a bit seperated. Well, a lot seperated. But I think that it represented well what it's like when you leave school and everyone goes off to do their own things. Even though Buffy and Willow were both at college, they really did approach it differently.
That's why it was so good at the end of The Yoko Factor and during Primeval that they became a little gang again. It showed how strong their relationships were.

Also, about Restless. I loved that episode too. I watch it over and over and it's alway great. It's so clever, and well written (like dreams!) and directed so cleverly you really think it could be what these characters would dream about. It was a great little four-character profile :P

I like Restless, I really do, but I think it's definitely overrated. It's my least favorite season finale out of all seven. Actually, I don't consider it a REAL finale, as it's just a random episode. I consider the prior one the finale as the story of season four is "finalized", and I view "Restless" and just a bonus episode.

And I watch it every now and then but the last time I made my way through the series I skipped this one.
