I haven't seen Season 3 in a while and I was wondering did Faith go to Sunnydale High? She hung around the school a lot in the earlier episodes but thats because the gang was always there. Then when she turned bad it just seems like she dropped it all together.

I think she may have cause she was always in the library for students only i believe

No. She specifically said to Willow and Xander that she'd dropped out of school. She's Faith, I doubt she cared if she had to be a student. She always did what she wanted anyway

Agreeing with Wicked, Faith didn't actually "go" to Sunnydale High. With so much weird stuff going on at that school, I doubt they'd notice some random teen hanging out with their students without actually going to class anyway. ;)

It would have been really cool to see Faith enrolled in Sunnydale High, IMO. :)
I agree with Wickeds statement. She did not go to school. And damn, again! :P I was going to say what Randy Giles just said! :)
By the way, love the name :) Funny episode!

Yeah, Faith just hung around when she was good(ish) Slayer coz it was where all the bad mojo was going on. And with the weirdness of the place that is SHS no one really questioned her being there. I mean they never questioned Wesley hanging around and he was an adult and as far as we know, not hired by Sunnydale High since Giles was still Librarian

Nah, she didn't go to the school, if you recall, Angel hung in the library, Wes did, Kendra did...a lot of people who didn't go to the school. Obviously in reality that couldn't happen, but this is tv we're talking about.

haha you never went to my high school then!!!
we always had random peoples friends and boyfriends hanging around.
maybe they just assumed that all the non-sunnydale students were just partners of the gang! tehehe.
i even had a science teacher and a drama teacher the i used to hang out with in their classes at lunch time!

Here's a question...
When the police interviewed Faith about the murder, they tracked her to her motel room. They complained that they didn't have enough evidence to convict her. But why didn't they take her into protective custody? I don't think they could have succeeded, but she was clearly either a runaway or an abandoned minor. She was also a truant. All of that would have been reason enough to get a social worker involved. They couldn't have physically forced a slayer into anything, but the pressure and attention alone may have led her to make a mistake that they could use against her.

In the words of Principal Snyder...The Sunnydale Police are deeply stupid

No, and I don't think I could see her going to school either. It would be weird, besides she wouldn't really go anyways, she'd just skip.

I think she was just hanging with her new friends :lmao:

I always thought it was odd so many 'non-students' were always hanging around the school. Such a security risk.

Ya it's not usually 'that' easy to get into a school if you're not a student. The teachers usually know who you are pretty quick. But I guess there's always a way.

In the first episode, its implied that getting into the school (or leaving it) can be a bit tricky (anyone remember the magical jumping over gate incident?)
But ... I think that a public school, especially in Southern California, does not have the best security possible. Its obvious that random people could roam around ... It happens multiple times. I think Faith just kind of hangs around because its where the team base is, and honestly, what else is she going to do?
I think Faith enrolled in Sunnydale High would be kind of impossible.
Don't they ask for ... parental information of some sort when you enroll?
Or atleast ... an address?

Faith's take on school would have been.
They are ok, as long as its some-one else's.
FAITH....SCHOOL. Now there's two words that don't bond.

It's actually easy to get into a high school... after hours, at least. :-)
When my hubby and I go back home for visits, we often go back to our high school. His mom works there. His mom's boyfriend works there. My mom used to work there. We can pretty much get in and visit whomever we choose.
Now, if you're not popping in to visit a relative, I don't know how you'd get in, but whatever. Faith blends in just like a student. No one would notice her. Wesley is another matter entirely, though.

Oh I have a question, how did they manage to get into the school late at night? I dunno about America but that just isn't going to happen here

At my school (London, England) we werent allowed on the school grounds once we had left after the final bell had rung, they were really annoying about it. I remember leaving some artwork in school once, that I needed for the next days assessment & they wouldn't let me get it, I was fuming.

here (Limerick, Ireland) there was no getting into the school once 'after-school study' was finished, so thats basically from 6.30 on and teachers were definitely not allowed lock the place up

I thought Giles had a key?
What I always wondered was why the janitor was never like, "Dude: clear out so I can mop!"

Some-one should have let on about it being easy to get into schools in America.
That guy right at the start of the series had to break a window to get in, maybe, just maybe Darla was part of the school's security program yet the punishment may have been a bit extreme.

Haha! Funny.
Schools are really easy to get in and out of - if you've got a reason to be there. Heck, if a janitor knows you, you can get in. Including security, custodial, and maintenance staff, workers arrive at like 6am and leave at like midnight. Only a vampire would have to break a window because only a vampire would be trying to get into a school in the wee hours of the morning... or a senior performing a senior prank, I guess.

6 in the morning to midday ? hmmmmm, was some-one a bit like Faith ?.
At least I went to school on time, admittedly I usually left about 2 or 3 hours early.

NOpe...FAith didnt attend Sunnydale high. Less we forget she came to Sunnydale to get away from Kakistos!!!
I think she just hung around because everyone else basically spent all their time at school.

No, no. I'm saying STAFF are about (on different shifts, of course) from about 6am (faculty, primary support staff, etc) to about midnight (custodial and maintenance start their work at 3pm or 4pm or so). So because someone is usually there to let you in, you shouldn't need to break a window to get in unless you're there (for some strange reason) roughly between midnight and 6am. Make sense?

Oh ok I getcha now...It would still never happen here, well unless you go to private school

I dunno...it seems perfectly feasible to me that Faith would be able to hang out at school, even while it was in session. If you have a faculty member on your side [i.e. Giles] then you can pretty much do anything you want.
I would imagine it would be easy for Giles to get Faith into the school without anyone seeing her; but in the eventuality that another staff member caught her, they could just as easily make up some excuse for why she was there. Granted, she'd probably have to leave and then find another way in, but it can be done. She'd probably just say she's Buffy's family or something like that.
I don't think Giles had a key...did he? I mean, he had a key to the library and all the other things the library implies, but to the whole school? That would either be really lax on the administrations part or Giles is a key-stealing ninja...which actually kind of makes sense, when you look at it that way.

What, Giles a ninja ? what a horrible thought....but wait !.
If Giles is some type of Ninja, then one of his ancestors may have been related to the slayer that Spike off'd in the Boxer rebellion, that may explain why Giles didn't like Spike
( apart from Spike wanting to kill, root and generally have fun with Buffy )

You all have valid points to the fact that Faith didn't attend Sunnydale High, and I still don't believe so but... Didn't Faith say in the episode 'Bad girls' "How about, you do the homework, and I'll copy yours?" if Faith wasn't going to High school, why would homework matter or why would she mention it?

SHe was being sarcastic. When Faith compares herself to BUffy, she makes herself the less good girl. Thats just how she is around BUffy.

I haven't seen the episode in forever but wasn't she talking about slayer homework? Didn't Wesley used to give them assignments and stuff?

She could've been. I think I remember Buffy saying "what about the homework?" so I'm just assuming it was school homework... That I know of, Wesley never gave them theory to work on.

I think she's definitely talking about slayer homework. Faith talks in tropes all the damn time. Plus, if Faith was actually attending Sunny D High, they'd sure as hell make it into some kind of plot device.

Wesley didn't give them books to read or anything, but he did give them a bunch of small missions to complete all the time.

You're right. I guess Faith wanted to copy Buffy's small missions? ;) I think the comment was more to show that (not that she needed it) Faith's a bad girl, 'ooh look, Faith doesn't even do her homework, she copies Buffy's!'

It was definitely Slayer-related homework, not anything to do with Sunnydale High.
Wesley: Buffy, you will go to the Gleaves family crypt tonight and fetch the amulet.
Buffy: I will?
Wesley: Are you not used to being given orders?
later...
Buffy: Faith, wait. Look, I know this new guy's a dork, but...
Well, I have nothing to follow that. He's pretty much just a dork.
Faith: You're actually gonna take orders from him?
etc, etc... conversation about Slaying and how awesome is it...
Buffy: What about the assignment?
Faith: Tell you what: you do the homework, and I'll copy yours.
She's (Faith) saying it like you would if you were talking about "school work" but she's really talking about the little mission that Wes has sent them on.

I stand corrected! :) I guess Faith never attended Sunnydale High... She just hung around and distracted the gang lol.
