Do you think that the new Whedon/Dushku series "Dollhouse" will make the possibility of a future Faith project, either movie, series, or mini=series, more or less likely?

Well I would hope yes. Judging from Joss' work, I wouldn't doubt that it could happen. It really does depend on two things. The story and the cast. For example; Caution, Buffy Season 2 spoiler info within.Spike as supposed to be killed off in season two, but because of such positive feedback from viewers, he played his role throughout the rest of the series and intertwined in the spin off 'Angel'. So, if the show plays well, I would have absolutely no doubt that they can turn it into something.

^ I don't think that's a spoiler. It's something that never happened. And it's widely known. :)

I would love a "Faith" spin-off. I hope "Dollhouse" has a nice run, five seasons maybe. After that, if Eliza and Joss still want to work together, they can develop a Faith series. I would *****LOVE***** that.

But...I'd settle for a movie or mini-series too. :)

It'd be fricking awesome if the whole Dollhouse idea was just a facade and Joss and Eliza are really making a Faith show. We all tune in and freak out at our TVs...

Lmao!

I just hope it happens. I hope it works and I hope it stays on the air. I wanna see Eliza kick butt again like she did as Faith. I wonder if it will be super strength she will have. That would be amazing. I wanna see her hit someone and them fly across the room.

I don't know, I guess that the Buffyverse has been a little played by now. Joss probably wants a new challenge, and I think that this show still keeps his feminist leanings, since I see it as a metaphor for the exploitation of women.

Of course, now, to remain in canon, the Faith movie would have to be directly after the events of "Chosen" or sometime after she and Giles finish their Steed/Peel partnership' I would love to see a Spike/Faith team up, but i have to agree with Marsters on that point. Both he and Eliza have done the "side kick" bit. They deserve to be the center character in their own separate stories.

It would be awesome if that happened :) It's not impossible though with Dollhouse coming out, it doesn't look likely to happen anytime soon, but it might...

I'm not sure it would actually be a good idea. As much as I love Faith (and trust me I do, A LOT :silly:) I think the whole Faith spin off opportunity is gone by now. I mean, we have BtVS season 8 that already includes Faith (as far as I've heard cos I didn't get to that part yet) and I think, like JCC said, that both Joss and Eliza probably want a new challenge, a new story, and as great as Faith was, they have to move on because things that work in an original production (of a show or a movie) doesn't usually works as well in a sequel. Fair enough, Angel worked out fine, but that was because the whole story arc was calculated and everything fitted together you know?
The only thing I can think of is invastigating Faith's past and that obviously would not be with Eliza (or probably not) so I don't think it would be worth it :silly:

But then again, you never know. I'm just really content with the Dollhouse idea so far. I'm sure Joss will manage to create a new world with the same success... as long as he doesn't lose his humour and critical ideas... and his genious of course :silly:

I couldn't see a film of ''Faith The Vampire Slayer'' being made. Like Frenchy Faith has pointed out, I think the time has passed. While there's still a lot of fans out there I don't think it would be as big a hit as if it had been released shortly after Buffy had finished.

Maybe Joss is playing FOX. Echo is really Faith with a brainwash! At the end of Season 1, she finds out. By then the show will be too huge to cancel and we'll have our spin-off ;)

I like the way you think Allycat. Haha

But I do think Dollhouse makes the Faith series/movie/one-off very unlikely. I was never keen on the idea anyway- I mean I like Faith, I do, I just think as a series it could have a tendency to become repetitive as we've already done the whole Good!Faith, Bad!Faith, Good!Faith as far as we can (It's like a really warped ballet lesson. Good toes, bad toes...).

And I'd prefer to see Eliza in Dollhouse than a Faith vehicle mainly because I enjoy seeing Eliza in different things.

And like FrenchyFaith said- I think both Joss and Eliza would wanna do something out of the Buffyverse. Do something too often and while it still may be enjoyable, it ceases to be the fun challenge it originally was. And I think Dollhouse is going to give them that. Plus, it just sounds COOL! haha.

I personally agree with most peoples opinion here the time for a spin off has really kinda lapsed. I would have rathered see a Willow spin off anyway. I just hope that Dollhouse gets to stay on more than one season and doesnt get axed as quickly as some of Eliza's other TV projects (like Tru Calling)

The fact that the network seemed anxious to have Eliza an some sort of a series even before the idea of "Dollhouse" came up is encouraging. Hopefully, they won't be as anxious to dump it as they would be some other show. Let's hope so, anyhow.

I hate to crush your dreams of a faith show or tv film. I agree it would be awesome if such project ever was realeased, but I cant see it myself. Joss Whedon would not do a tv show as a clever ploy for another tv show, as he was going to do movies and he said in in sci-fi magazine interview. Also in that interview he also claimed that the tv show Ripper was definatly going to happen just not sure on a time frame. Also I believe to much time has pasted since Buffy I couldnt see enough of an audience for a tv network to commision.

But fingers crossed because it would kick ass!

As much as I'd love more on screen slayage I think I'd rather see Eliza as an actress move on from Faith and the similar characters she's portrayed and do something to push her acting skills. I have absolutely no doubt that she would be able to do some great things with her career and to me pigeonholing herself further by doing more Faith based work would be detrimental to herself.

Honestly I can't see anything in the works for any more spinoffs (except for a Ripper movie), as by the time it gets made they're all going to be way to old! As Charisma Carpenter quiped at the reunion recently "I just hope they do it before I've got a walking stick!"
