A few quick questions...

Do you have any Buffy Merchandise? If so List what you have bought, how much it was (roughly), where you got it and why you bought it.
I have several Buffy action figures, comics, books, posters, calenders, pencil case, cd case etc, etc. Usually I get them as gifts but the action figures cost me about $50 each! I bought them because I love Buffy, simple as that.

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you?
I've attended about 3 conventions and they each cost me about $200-$300 each

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?
Not really! The conventions I've been to usually have the stars of Firefly which is cool! And i find the stars that do go to conventions on a regular basis are easier to talk to and they actually take the time out to actually talk to you instead of ushering you away after an autograph and photo op.

How far would you go to meet your favourite character?
I would do ANYTHING!!! as long as it's not illegal.

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?
Other fans I actually find are really great to talk to. They can relate to you and make you feel more at ease.

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?
I did buy the mags! I was glad to get a regular Buffy fix especially after the show ended.
How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc

What is your favourite Buffy Site?
This ONE!!!!

Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?
Veronica Mars is the other light in my life!!!! As well as all of the Joss shows!!!

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?
Not yet!

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon?
Joss is a genius. He seems really down to earth and he really cares about issues that affect the world and he stands up for what he believes is right! I find that inspiring! He is truly amazing.

Do you continue to follow his work?
Of course!!

What do you think of it?
I love Joss' work! It's always witty and original and I think that he tends to excel at everything he does! Except maybe sports but then I haven't actually seen enough evidence for that!

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy?
No I think Joss and the writers did everything on Buffy for a reason and I wouldn't want to mess with that.

Do you have any Buffy Merchandise? If so List what you have bought, how much it was (roughly), where you got it and why you bought it. I have entire Seven seasons on video, each box set cost about I£35 (35x15), I also have it on DVD that cost about 180euro, over 50 novels ranging from 8euro -20euro, the magazine at £5 an issue, I have both xbox games 60euro each, Buffy albums so thats 60euro for all of em and now I am buying the comic whic costs me about $5 an issue after postage and packaging.
So thats about 2 grand spent on Buffy, not including my Angel stuff. This show isn't cheap!.

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you?
None, they don't come to Ireland

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?

How far would you go to meet your favourite character?

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?
meeting and talking to other fans makes me feel better about myslef, like I'm not the only one this crazy!

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?
Cuz one episode a week wasn't enough and I need my Buffy fix anyway I coud get it.

How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc
Dedicated

What is your favourite Buffy Site?
Buffy-Boards! or possible Duck's fan fic!
Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?
Angel, other than that there are shows I like but I would never follow them like Buffy

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?
I have but it had nothing to do with the show, he was just a poop head!

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon?
The Boss of Us!! He rules all!

Do you continue to follow his work?
Avidly

What do you think of it?
I love it, it will never mean as much to me as Buffy but then again how could it?

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy?
Apart from her and Angel living happily ever after? No

Do you have any Buffy Merchandise? If so List what you have bought, how much it was (roughly), where you got it and why you bought it.
i have things like BTVS novels, the Watcher Guides, the Book of Demons, or whatever it's called, the script books for the first seasin, and OMWF, two action figures ('Fear, Itself' Anya and 'Chosen' Faith), a pencil drawing of Spike that my friends bought me for my 18th birthday. i have the boxsets, or i will have when they arrive, a replica of the cross Angel gave to Buffy, and a few T-shirts. don't ask me how much i've spent, because i would rather not know!

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you?
I've been to one Angel Con, one Con featuring all three Joss shows, and one Serenity Con. the ticket prices range from £65-£85.

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?
no, because of the three Cons i've been to 'big stars' weren't the attraction. the biggest names at a Con i've attended was J. August Richards (Gunn) and Christian Kane (Lindsey)

How far would you go to meet your favourite character?
i don't know, as that's never likely to happen. Nicholas Brendon attended a Con in Paris recently, but i couldn't afford the Serentiy Con and the Paris one, so i chose the Serenity Con as i always have a great time at the Cons run by this company.

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?
not really. i never really try to fit in with anyone. i try to be myself and if people don't like that then tough! it's cool knowing that the 500+ people in this hotel are there because they love the same thing that i do, but we're still individual people and i'm not gonna change who i am just to make them like me better.

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?
i did buy it occasionally if there was an interview i wanted to read, but i was neveran avid collector. most of the stuff could be found online

How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc
nerdy would probably be the word, and dedicated. when i first started watching, i was 12 years old, and i watched 'cause i liked the stories. but as i've got older, i can relate more to the characters and i spot things that i miss before. i tend to be good with the details, too.

What is your favourite Buffy Site?
BB, obviously. it's by far the best

Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?
there are other shows that i watch, but nothing that comes close to my love for BTVS, excpet for Angel and Firefly, obviously.

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?
yes, there has been a few times when i couldn't relate to someone else, but i think it's lately i've been looking more at the meanings of why the characters did why they did and some people just enjoy the stroytelling.

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon?
he is my God.

Do you continue to follow his work?
i think i can say that i've seen a fair amount of his work, and i'm not patienty awaiting Dollhouse

What do you think of it?
like i said, the man's a genuis

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy?
as a fan, there might have been things that i would have wanted to see happen, like Spike and Buffy being happy together for once, but taking an objective view, no, there wouldn't be anything i would have changed. Joss and Co. wrote it perfectly and i'm happy with the way it ended, and the way S8 is shaping up.

Do you regularly visit a message board?
yep, this one. i come here everyday. i've made a lot of good friends here, and i've brought one or two over from another board, so it's nice to come and chat with them. :D

Do you have any Buffy Merchandise? If so List what you have bought, how much it was (roughly), where you got it and why you bought it.

A buffy doll and a Spike doll - $40 each (australian dollars, and they were on sale) i got them for my birthday, i think they came from a toy shop (Mr. Toys) that specialises in collectables. I also have "Radio Sunnydale" ($25), "Once More With Feeling" ($25) and "Angel: Live Fast, Die Never" (probably $40, had to get it via import from Amazons, so i include P&H) soundtracks on CD. And Buffy And Angel complete series DVD collection ($250 dollars each). I also have numerous novels, the Watcher's Guides, and other Buffy discussion books (probably around $200 worth - i'm guessing), and now I'm collecting both Buffy and Angel comics.

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you?

None and nothing

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?

N/A

How far would you go to meet your favourite character?

not very far - i wouldn't want to be a bother, that's just the kind of person i am

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?

in relation to the online community it's certainly nice to interact with others who share the same interest, none of my real live friends do. it is a regular part of my day to check in on the boards.

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?

no, too expensive. I would read it in boarders sometimes

How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc

Fanatical i suppose - though in a kind of academic way rather than a stalking the stars kind of way.

What is your favourite Buffy Site?

Tea at the Ford (http://www.teaattheford.net/)

Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?

not in the way i am to Buffy and Angel

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?

yeah, occasionally you come across people whose oppinions are so divergent from your own that you wonder if they are watching the same show! but i like hearing other peoples opinions and try not to get into arguments - emotions and sarcasm and humor can be easily misunderstood ing the online world. Some of the hardcore Bangel shippers bewilder me... (not so much on the BB, other forums can get totally vicious)

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon?

i like and respect his work, he seems like a great guy. he also had a great team behind him and that's what made the great shows.

Do you continue to follow his work?

i've never watched Firefly/Serenity (even though my husband owns the DVDs of both), I'm looking forward to his new show but i'll reserve judgement until (if) it eventuates.

What do you think of it?

Top quality, amoung the best television shows ever made

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy?

No, i'm generally very accepting of what Joss and the writers give us... it was their story to tell and que sera sera.

Do you regularly visit a message board?

Yes, this one most regularly but i also have a look at the Dark Horse (http://www.darkhorse.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=2) and IDW (http://www.idwpublishing.com/) forums sometimes, also Slay Alive (http://www.slayaliveforums.proboards50.com/) and MikeJer's Buffy/Angel forum (http://www.superjer.com/whedonforum/)occasionally. BB is the best - its friendly (most of the time) and tolerant of mixed opinions (most of the time). It's a good mix of informative discussion and good fun.

Doesn't come out till first quarter next year but it cost $90.00 after shipping.
I bought all this stuff because I love Buffy and I want to have as much as I can.

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you? I have not been able to attend any.

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?

How far would you go to meet your favourite character? If I could meet Sarah Michelle Gellar and actually spend some time talking to her I would go wherever I had to. No limits for her. But she's the only one.

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?
Well if there were no other Buffy fans I would not feel bad about loving it. I have come to the realization I am a Buffy freak and I like it like that. I am glad however that there are other fans that can share in my opinions and feelings. Buffy fans have a true bond with the show. It helps these fans have bonds with each other because there is so much shared. It's a passion for most of us. Like a way of life.

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?
I bought Buffy mags at the end of 2006 until they stopped making them. I wanted to have anything recent I could on Buffy. Help keep the name alive. I was sad the mags were cancelled but what more could they really print right? Well I can think of things but oh well.

How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc
Any kind of title you have I am it. I am crazy, crazy in the way I love the show. I would rather have Buffy than any other tv program or movie in the world. I love the characters. I am dedicated in the way I watch it, the way I talk about it and the way I shop for merch.

What is your favourite Buffy Site? Buffy-boards is my favorite site because we all have a lot of fun talking about the show, agreeing to disagree and such. It's a great place to talk about the best show on tv. And we get to meet other people like us. You form these bonds and then you forget that you only met these people a few months ago or maybe it's been a couple years. But it feels like more than that. You feel like you have known these people all your life. I know I have a few friends I met on buffy-boards that I wouldn't trade in for anything.

Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?
Not like Buffy no. I enjoy other shows such as Angel, naturally and Bones, South of Nowhere, the L word and my new favorite Hospital Central. But none quite like Buffy....and Angel second.

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?
Well no, not really. We may view some of the episodes differently but we never seem to 'not' relate.

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon? He's my master now. No seriously, he has a brilliant mind. So far I have seen Serenity and Buffy and Angel. All three are brilliant and I want to see as much of his work as I can.

Do you continue to follow his work? As best as I can yes. He is worth it.

What do you think of it? Well, from what I have seen, brilliant.

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy? No, oh well maybe that I got to be on the show and hook up with Buffy but in reality, I think it ended like it should have. A little premature but still well. Alot of people would want Buffy and Angel together or Spike and her. But I thought it was good for Buffy to be single. To grow a little and find out who she is and where she wants to be, without having a guy to cloud any judegement. And hello, she saved the world. What's a better ending than that?

Do you regularly visit a message board? buffy-boards about every day.

6) Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?

I did i collected them....still got em now...why? cause im a buffy fan and loved catchin up on news and spoilers.

7) How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc

Don't know whether this even counts anymore, but I'm up early (Yet again) with nothing to do yet so might as well fill my time with something.

Do you have any Buffy Merchandise? If so List what you have bought, how much it was (roughly), where you got it and why you bought it.

Gheh?
Almost all the pre-season 6 Buffy novels and I got them at about $5 each on average.
All the Buffy script books including Once More With Feeling and each of them were about $10
All three of The Watcher's Guides- got them on a deal so got all three for $22 (ish)
Angel Casefiles Season 1 and 2 which was about $10 again.
Buffy magazines- however much they used to cost each
Sunnydale High Year Book- on sale so got it for $3. Score.
Buffy omnibus 1, TPB- $5
Buffy Omnibus 2, TPB- $5
And each of the season 8 comics now for whatever they cost each time. I think it's three dollars.
And each of the seperate DVD seasons for both Buffy and Angel- do they count?

How many Conventions have you attended and how much does this normally cost you?
As of today? That would count up to a zero.

Not many of the ‘main stars’ attend the conventions, does this put you off?
Not really. I hear Armin Shimmermen(God, is that how you spell his name) is a great guest and I'd love to go to signing that had Juliet Landau or Kristine Sutherland. So no, it doesn't put me off.

How far would you go to meet your favourite character?
Far enough that I could actually afford it. haha. But I do have a mentality that I think 'Wait this amount of money could go on such and such a thing' so price does put me off a little.

How do other fans make you feel? E.g.. do they make you more confident in yourself and make you feel like you fit in somewhere?
The only real Buffy fans I've come across are on here and so far, they're pretty great, haha.

Did you ever buy the Buffy magazines and why?
Yes, but not every single one. Most though. I bought them at first while the series was still on air because you got all the latest show gossip and sometimes spoliers. And then after the show ended I still loved the magazine for the interviews and the behind the scenes stuff.

How would you describe yourself as a fan? E.g crazy. Sad, dedicated. Etc
Addicted. Wholly and completely. In a way that only a fellow Buffy fan would understand.

What is your favourite Buffy Site?
Well since this is a board I won't count it....so BuffyVS.Fr for another great site. Oh and Much Ado about BtVS. That's a great one too.

Are there any other programmes which you are dedicated to?
Not really. I don't really have time for much TV now. I just watch programmes in passing occasionally. Buffy swooped me in in my teen years so I got permenantly addicted. But I do enjoy Ghost Whisperer a lot and I love Desperate Housewives. I think I'm probably gonna put time aside for New Amsterdam which is airing in March as it just looks and sounds fantastic. Oh and I did used to be a huge X-files fan, haha. Still am if I admit it to myself...but not to the extent I am dedicated to Buffy/Angel.

Have you ever come across a fan who you could not relate to at all... and why?
Not that I recall....

What is your opinion on Joss Whedon?
Evil Hell God. Also a genius.

Do you continue to follow his work?
Well, if he's doing something I'm immediately intrigued and will check it out, but if it ends up not being my thing I let it be. For example, Firefly. It sounds good, the concept's good and the writing is great of course but the Western conventions in it put me right off- I can't get into it due to the fact I hate westerns.

What do you think of it?
All his work is brilliant be it TV show comics, random essays or whatever. Even if, like Firefly, it doesn't particularly reach me I can still appreciate it's greatness ya know?

Is there anything you would have changed about Buffy?
For season 8 to have actually aired. That would have been nice. And no Kennedy/Willow if we're going to get picky haha.
