When I first watched season 1, and as most of you know, was not that long ago. I fell in love with Kate. No, not that kind of love...(that's only possible with SMG). I really liked her and I thought she had pretty good chemistry with Angel. Yes she had an attitude and could be very cold with him sometimes but that's love no? In the good and in the bad? Ok I am really stretching here so let me stop that.
We got her for around 2 season. And I felt like she and Angel had a mutual connection and I also think it went beyond demons.
I wanted them to hook up, almost right from the beginning. Well, it never happened. I got over it, whatever!
Then in season 5 we have Nina. We hardly know her and just because she has werefolf in her Angel and her have a strong enough connection to date? It's all very, very weird and I don't like it. ::huh1::
I just think they really built well on Angel and Kate and it was believable for me. But I didn't feel that way about Nina and Angel at all. Heck I would have rather had Spike and Angel, atleast there was chemistry!
So mods post a poll if you wouldn't mind but if not, I still would like to know what you think about these two ladies and which gal Angel should have hooked up with...
Kate
or
Nina

Neither! Buffy all the way! but since that ain't a choice I'll go wit Kate. I liked her character and her interactions with Angel. I read a fic awhile back where Kate actually joined the A.I. team after epiphany..that would have been so cool!

I think it was a pity that Kate and Angel never really got involved, although the way her storyline played out was very interesting too. I get the issue most people have with Nina. (I personally thought she was kind of cute.) Her back story and character weren't as developed as some of the other characters on the show. In the end she only appeared in 3 episodes when the series ended, so it's kind of hard to really have an idea of who a character is based on just that. I think it's safe to say the Nina is not supposed to be the next great romantic love of Angel's life. That doesn't mean however, that she's unimportant or useless. She's helped Angel get ready for another relationship. Just like Riley was Buffy's way over getting over Angel and getting ready for Spike. Of course, things could still change. I don't think Angel plans for this relationship to really go anywhere, but sometimes something like that just happens as people experience things together. In that regard, we'll have to wait and see what 'After the Fall' brings.
I agree with those who say neither. I liked the arc with Kate and part of what made it interesting is that they never got involved but almost did. Sometimes "almost" is more seductive, more beautiful. Their relationship was always changing from trust, resentment, mutual understanding. If they had got together, she would have felt too much like a Buffy replacement.
Nina? Well she's sweet and cute and maybe that's what Angel needed at the time. Nothing too serious after the drama with Buffy and tragedy of Cordy. I think maybe he gravitated towards someone who he didn't feel an all comsuming love for. He said it himself, they were just "hanging out" and she was only a girlfriend when it suited him. I think he's just taking it slow.

Traditionally, all private eyes in the movies, on tv, or in books have a friend somehow connected to the Police Department, a source of their inside information. Probably Kate was supposed to fill that capacity, with the added option of there being some romantic attraction between the two, but for some reason it just never got developed. I agree, though, it would have been interesting for there to have been a little more attraction between the two, especially from Season 3 on, since Buffy could no longer gross over.

No offense to your friend, but I've got to go with Kate on this one. She had the longer story arc. I felt more connected to her.
Nina came out of nowhere and in 3 episodes, they were sleeping together and then he was "not asking" but "telling" her to leave the country. It was just too rushed. I didn't have time to get to know her or like her. I wasn't even sure what point she served. I would rather have had that air time be filled up with Lorne having a romance. Now that could have been interesting, seeing as how were not sure what gets his demon heart pumping.

As for Angel and Kate......i really did like Kate...wish you could of stayed around longer so we could of seen what would come of her as her character progressed.
Nina...I loved Nina. Dont know why. Maybe because it was gettin of the Buffy and Angel thing. I mean no matte rhow much you love someone you gotta move on sometimes.
But we all know that Angel and Cordelia were meant to be!!

I think that if Nina had been introduced around Season 2 or 3, so that everyone knew more about her and had more time to develop, she would have had a better chance in this poll. Personally, I thought that she and Angel made a pretty good couple, and hopefully there will be more of her in After The Fall. Her werewolf thing could be developed so that she had some kind of control over the changes and behavior of the wolf, and that would be an asset to the remnants of Team Angel, which may find itself in need of all of the muscle they can get. (And why shouldn't Angel play Charlie to Nina, Gwen, and Kate's Angels. Might make a fun arc.)

I didn't like him with Kate or Nina, with Kate, I just didn't see the sparks (If there were any) and with Nina, well, she just seemed to appear out of no-where, well sure she was in one episode, then suddenly she's with Angel the time...whats up with that? I only have eyes for Angel with Cordy or Buffy, so I have to strongly say neither.

I feel that Angel and Cordy were meant to be but.........Nina was a breath of fresh air in Angels life. Although he wasnt in love...he was happy

Kate, I just didn't see the sparks (If there were any)
What?!?!?!
I don't mean to be rude but I'm probably going to be.
Are you blind?
There was a genuine connection between these two, a romantic one that was building quite well until her fathers death.
Nina actually bored me. She had no real place in the show by the time she was a love interest.
If I had to choose between the two, Kate gets my vote.
HAVING said that, I don't want either with Angel.
Not because I want Buffy or Cordy or any other piece of fine ass for the Vamp with Soul, but because his relationship with Kate was far too complex as it was without adding that relationship.
I would have loved them to have grown into a true friendship getting passed all the crap.
I would also have loved to have Kate return in season 5 and be another one to question Angel's decision.
Nina, well I could live without her.

Kate had the prerequesite for Angel, she was blonde.
but her character became too anti Angel/Angelus for a long term relationship.
Nina never got to that point, and she is blonde.
Cordy had a basic flaw that meant she never could be with Angel, she wasn't a blonde.
So it's Angel and Nina as far as I'm concerned........, mind you Spike is blonde ?!
