What happened to the Hotel after Season 4? Did some of the gang still live there or did they just completely abandon it when they went to work for Wolfram and Hart? It was never really revealed in Season 5.

I think they just abandoned it. Not a lot of thought put into it there. But I don't think the gang put a lot of thought into any of it when they were offered Wolfram and Hart. It's just like Fred's ramble in the season 5 premier when she is like 'and we all said yes in about three minutes without even wondering why or...'

Well, none of THEM stayed in it, so someone else could have bought it =/ It was never mentioned.

It was briefly mentioned in "Don't Fade Away" when Angel told them all that any survivors were to meet at the alley behind the Hyperion but I always wondered what happened to that place. It was such a beautiful set...

Vail did a spell for W&H to rearrange the hotel to make it look like offices and then altered the gangs memories to make them think they were really in W&H

I think some of them must have still lived there. We know Angel had a fancy penthouse atop W&H, but we never saw the others living on site. Wes had his own apartment, but we never saw where Fred and Gunn lived. I think its safe to say they didn't share a room anymore, but they probably stayed there. Besides, I'd be willing to bet they kept it just so they wouldn't be rendered homeless if -- or when -- W&H turned on them.

I'd be more inclind to think that Fred, Gunn and Lorne used their wages(which will be huge as heads of depts for a large firm) on renting a plush pent house suite in some glam area.
It just doesn't seem right that they would be at the hotel.

Lorne? Definitely. He'd go all out and get something posh.
Fred and Gunn? Not so sure. I think Fred might spend most of her time at W&H anyway. Didn't she even shower at W&H?
Here's a question: in which part of town is the new W&H? I think my roommate mentioned having seen the old W&H in... gosh. Was it Culver City? I can't remember. The new W&H looked suspiciously like Miracle Mile building. Like the E entertainment building or SAG over on Museum Row. They've got some cute (and super expensive) apartments just behind the main drag there. They look a lot like Cordy's apartment, actually. Before my hubby's office moved, he worked in the E Entertainment building, hence the knowledge of the area. We thought about moving, but it was waay to expensive. Anyway, I can see Fred renting one of those so that she's close to work -- especially since she probably makes the big bucks.
As for Gunn? Well, I have no idea where Gunn would live. He seemed estranged from his former friends back in the old neighborhood, but he didn't seem like someone who'd be comfy in a posh environment, either. Maybe he stayed at the Hyperion? I just feel like someone had to be there. I mean, would the AI team really rush into W&H without some sort of backup plan or neutral territory? At any rate, there'd be no reason to sell it. So maybe they (or W&H) just owned it and it sat vacant.

It would have been cool if they kept The Hyperion for their secret meetings like the one they had in the episode Unleashed.

Fred had an apartment while working at W&H didn't she? That time that Wesley called for a driver to take her home and such?
Actually wasn't that her appartment in Hole in the World? Where she got Wes to read to her? And it was kinda more homely rather then pent-house. No idea about Gunn and Wes though....

I forgot about that. We did see Fred's apartment, and it wasn't super posh at all. It was just a normal room in a probably very normal apartment.
I was always under the impression though that they all lived at W&H. But perhaps now, I'm totally wrong!

I never though that they all stayed in W&H. In some of the eps endings they would say they were going home. Like the ep when Lornes powers went all wanky and made a big incredible hulk looking Lorne.
But that was Fred apartment in "Hole in the World".
We know Angel lived in the penthouse.
Lorne would have most def went and got him a bacholer pad.
Wes would of got him something close to the office since he was always causght up in work.
Now Gunn, he might would of went to the hotel but i think when he got a brainy he probably went for a brainy crib.

I liked the hotel a lot. I missed it in season 5.

THANK YOU DoI! I was beginning to question my brain. I watch Smile Time like 300 times and I kept thinking, "I KNOW he gives the guy an address and it's not The Hyperion" and when we see her place it's not the same one. But, it's been a LONG week and half the time I'm not sure if I'm awake or asleep.
After just noticing "Anne" today, I thought I might have my seasons mixed up or just be on crack.

At the begining of "Shells" Wesley pulls the curtains to the side in Fred's apartment and the view is quite nice. I think that "homely" atmosphere you're talking about is Fred's decorating sense, not the quality of the place.
