I like Xander on the cover of this one... who are the two women in the background? And if you read the synopsis... and old ally? hmmm... Robin Wood maybe? Or... well who would XANDER have to be the one to try and recruit some help from?

I think that's Buffy and Willow in the background. The plot sounds interesting. are those the same uber vamps The First had as his army?

The synopsis on the page does say the "uber vamps" so yeah it looks like several Turok Han are on the loose, thats not good. I love Buffy's traveling cloak, a new look for her.

Mentioning "redhead" and "Willow" in the same post, made me think of all female characters *head desk* plus he's not really that red.

Oz has been slated to return in this season, and since hes out East practicing not being all Wolfy then this would be a good time for him to turn up.

Could be a good time for Oz. Dunno, maybe he was over there learning how to control his power from some sensei, and the gang enlists him to help with wolf stuff 'cause he knows about that. Or he is forced to go wolfy in order to get in with a bunch of wolf people so he can find out more about what they're doing to report back to Buffy. Or this issue doesn't have Oz.

Wow! Jon Foster did a really good job this time! Not near as brain shuddering as the first issue of the arc! I love the alternate, as well. It's creative and well...Dracula will return. I always thought he was an awesome character.

Except why would he be the "old ally?"

aaah maybe thats the reference of the vamps with new, but familiar powers (the summary for the first issue of the arc)... maybe much like that of Dracula and that is why the need his help!

Wow, Dracula. That's pretty awesome, imo. I think that I like the alt cover more than the regular, which is rare for me. This is going to be really interesting, especially with the anticipated "tension" between Buffy and Drac.

Didn't Anya's vengeance demon stone have more shape to it? The stone Willow has looks too round

I'm doing this by memory, so by all means challenge me if I'm wrong, but I remember there used to be this misconception Anya wasn't wearing her stone in Season 7. It was accepted as fact by people who were posting about it. I remember going through the tapes to see if it was true, and being convinced she still wore the stone, it was just the mounts that had been changed. So no, I don't think the shape of the stone has changed. The design of the mounts are harder to make out. That's assuming it is the same stone, but personally I doubt it. It could be though. There's nothing about the shape in itself that says it can't as far as I can see ( going by vague memory at least).

Anya's amulet was diagnal shaped, right?

Again, going by memory so feel free to double-check. As I recall the mount is different in Season 3 to what it is in Season 7. In Season 7, yeah I think the mount is diagonal. In 3, I think it's round. In both cases the stone would not change, just because the frame did.

Yeah, OK, that's pretty much the way I remember them except 7 was 3, and 3 was 7. The way I always thought of the 3 one though was it was basically the same shaped stone but it was a shaped mount lapped over a round stone. I could be wrong about that. Doesn't really matter though, because it was the shape of the one in 7 that reminded me of the stone around Willow's neck in the issue # 13 cover. I remember it greener though.

In fact I think I can show you where I got the idea the one from 3 was a round stone in a shaped frame. Goldenboy linked me to a closeup pic of it one time. Took a little searching to find it, but here's a link.

The biggest difference between this piece of jewelry and the one Willow wears is that on Anya's necklace the metal (be it gold or whatever) makes a + shape over the gem.

Each Vengeance Demon has a different stone associated with them don't forget, Anyanka was the Emerald demon. In season 7, her replacement pendant is now round but still an Emerald in a golden clasp.

Willow would be say, Rubilette or plain Ruby, Flame Garnet etc.

And Willow was given a Talisman to summon him. WHich she used in season 7....so maybe she took an offer of some sort.

Would make sense if you think about what Willow says to Buffy in issue 10. "I wont betray you.....anymore than i already have" = "Hey guess what, i took that job with D'Hoffryn"

I'm not really buying it. Yeah it could happen, all sorts of things are.. but don't really see it happening. Willow is the kind of character who likes to and can do vengeance all on her own. If she wanted to.

If the 'talk' Buffy needs to have with Satsu really is about her crush on her... I think Buffy might've suspected if before she needed the awakening, which is why she asked to use her lip gloss, to find out if it was Satsu that kissed her

The main character I'd have that opinion for, would be Xander.
