I love false hope and was curious if Anya may ever return in some form in one of the issues.
Anya may reappear in the canonical Buffy the Vampire Slayer season eight comic book series. Joss Whedon told MTV that she was "definitely dead... but that doesn't mean she's gone."
That's what wikipedia said. We can dream can't we?

Maybe we will see some flashbacks, like in an insight to Xander's thoughts or something.
Yes, we can dream... I miss her 'strangely literal' logic!
It'll most likely take the form of flashbacks, we'll just have to wait and see what those flashbacks are and how they'll fit in with season 8's storyline, but since Emma wanted out and Joss pulled no punches having her struck down I think it'll something very small, a background/single frame sort of deal.

Yea but this is what I heard DW: By some accounts you were pretty determined to leave BUFFY by the end, and you wanted Anya killed in the series finale so that even if there was a BUFFY movie or whatever, it’d be clear that you would not be back. Is that true?
Caulfield: Well, that’s all been exaggerated. I had a fantastic experience on BUFFY and I thought it was a great show, but in some ways I didn’t feel that character was reflective of everything I could do. And by the end, I felt very unappreciated by certain people. Almost everybody was great, but certain people…
DW: You don’t want to name names? Even off the record?
Caulfield: No. No reflection on you, but I’ve been burned too many times! It wouldn’t be smart for me to say, but the people I’m talking about know who they are. By the end it was just no fun to come to work and be continually disrespected. But if they ever do a BUFFY movie and (BUFFY creator Joss Whedon) wants to bring me back as a ghost or something, I’d be glad to do that.
So i don't think she'd have any problem if her character was a character in a comic book. She might. But I don't know.

Technically, it's joss' character, not hers, and as such, he doesn't need her approval to resurrect her. It's good to see that she has no objections, though, and that "feeling unappreciated" thing has popped up before. I guess everything wasn.t sunshine and roses in Sunnydale.

That's the exact set of quotes I had read on the subject, I just didn't remember it off by heart or where I'd read it.
But you're right, her appearing in the comic doesn't need her permission.
Though I wonder if this is all why she didn't voice her character on Chaos bleeds?

This is what I read on IMDB, it's not the best source, but it gives me hope!:
Anya will definitely reappear although she will not be resurrected.
Whedon describes it as being "all about Anya"[7] with a possibility of an appearance by bunnies.

It sure does! I'd love to see her in the comics If I start buying them.
If she was in them already I would have gotten them, I LOVE ANYA!

I just hope she turn up sooner or later in some form. It would be my favorite issue.

An Anya-centric issue would be very cool. I loved Anya and would just eally like to see her again in the comics. And the semi-promise of a bunny appearence is very erm....promising. haha. It foretells humor to come.
Although, like Anya, I do have an incredible fear of bunnies, they frighten the hell outta me, so let's hope the sketches wouldn't be *too* realistic...

Don't think that I was jumpin' on you, even if it might have seemed so. Sometimes I'm just too blunt for my innate Southern charm to shine through, but it's still there. It's one o' the things that makes me so lovable.

Loved Anya. I've always maintained that the two dumbest storylines in BtVS was the Xander/Willow cheating thing in Season 3 and the Xander/Anya wedding fiasco. So dumb, I think it would have made the series so much better if Xander and Anya actually got married. I'm bitter about this still.

As am I! They were perfect than KABOOM everything's turned on it's head  Than she goes evil.. and than she later dies.. maybe that is why Emma didn't like the way her character was going. Anyways, Seeing he in an issue would be great. But not as a tiny tiny nothing of importance part. Something more.

I wouldn't mind seeing something about her, even a flashback. I love Anya.

A flash-back of a random moment that wasn't on the show, just like that 'Mrs.' song (I stupidly can't remember the name of the song...) would be excellent!

That's what will probably occur a flash back ;) but I'll hold out Faith that there might be more. It is sci-fi maybe we'll see her some other way, but that to might feel cheated. Hmm, maybe a flashback would be best. Unless if she does come back it's awesome and cool and she doesn't go away right after.

I bought the first arc in book form, I love it so far! Hopefully we get to see
Anya soon! They really need a character like her in it right now, the whole
situation needs humor! haha

Is this true? I don't know much about anything went behind the scenes - But I did hear there was lots of behind the scenes tension between all the cast members due to Sarah Michelle Gellar? Is there any truth into that? It'll be interesting to know if that was the case.. Maybe I'm reading too much into that comment, Emma made.

I think it was just the same amount of tension you get in any work place. Add in the lack of sleep and the amount of hours they worked and things were bound to get stressful, but I don't think it was ever anything that effected the cast and crew's relationships with one another. The kinda tension that is about the workplace and stays in the workplace.
I mean Alyson Hannigan said how she was a bit cheesed off that she only found out that she was out of a job by reading an article in a magazine that Buffy was ending; Sarah hadn't told her herself that she was quitting. However Alyson, to my knowledge, has never said anything against the fellow actress so I'm assuming it was no hard feelings. And I think it was the same as regards to Emma.
I try not to read into these things too much as I wasn't there so I never actually know, haha.

Emma wanted to leave after S7 anyway, but ya ofcourse working with anyone that many years and for so many hours they are going to get on your nerves every now and then. But if she is willing to come back for a movie, I doubt she has any hard feelings against anyone on the show.
As far as Anya appearing in S8, as much as I would love it! If it isnt in a flashback then I dont know if I would want her to come back unless it was really good. (maybe have her be working for the Powers)

Ahh thanks, I try not to read into what the media reported. I do remember Alison saying that Sarah had announced it in a interview instead of going to her. Oh well. Well working on Buffy must have had hideious hours, day in day out so you are right so a bit of tension of some sort is probably to build.

You know, a couple of ideas I had while still in bed at 11:30am.
Maybe D'hoffryn could be involved.
A. D'hoffryn really loved Anya (not in a willow/tara way) and was truly sad she died, so when she finally did die he teleported her body to Arashmahar and either repaired her somehow...lol, or made her a demon again against her wishes and reapaired her. I am not even saying it's possible, but I guess with Jossy anything is.
B. Glad she died as he foresaw and wanted to make her live again just so he could torment her some more? Try to have her killed repeatedly. I mean, he did it in season 7. Sent baddies after her even though he knew her future.
Those would be two very interesting angles and would also bring our D'hoffryn back. Cause I really love him and Anya.
Then it could happen sometime after Xander's feelings grow even more for Renee, and then he can be torn between the two women.
Hey...I have to give him an interesting storyline some how! :)
After "Selfless" I really sincerely doubt it.
D'hoffryn not only washed his hands of Anya entirely, but sent waves of Demons after her to kill her after promising not to.
She cost him two Vengeance Demons, one by renouncing her own nature and the other by paying that price with Halfrek's soul.
Both of them are gone. But not in a way that prevents Anya's spirit from being contacted or manifesting for a limited time in our world. Which can be done and told well in any number of ways.
