The thing about Buffy that everyone, well atleast a lot of people, really liked was that Buffy, underneath the demons and vampires, was a normal girl. She went to school, had friends, got a job, dealt with bills, raising a sister etc.
Right now in season 8 we don't have too much of that.
A. Will that kind of normalcy work in a comic. You know, Buffy getting a job again, after her crazy life calms down, if it ever does.
B. Do you even want to see that part of her life back?

I never wanted Sunny D to be destroyed...
I don't know if Buffy will ever be able to go back to normal now that she is leading this big operation, unless she retires..
But she's Buffy she can't retire  Which is sad, I too liked her being a normal girl under everything else. Going to school, all that stuff, she's left behind to lead this army.

I want her to go back. This constant struggle is a little draining.
I would bet that's easier to work into a show than a comic. I really DON'T want to read 5 pages of her sitting and talking with her friends about which cell phone company to join.
But, I would like it if she could go to something SLIGHTLY more calming.

I guess maybe you could see it as a metaphor for people who start working life. The earliest parts of your career can be very intensive and time-consuming. Your job can basically become you. I think the same thing is happening with Buffy right now.
