If I had either Spike or Dru under my control and they had just dredged up old memories, I'd go for flashbacks and then real-time reactions -- either of stuff we saw on Buffy or of stuff you wanna make up from their time together. There's just too much emotional content there to pass up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time we saw Dru, didn't Spike have her tied up? Wasn't he threatening to kill her in order to prove his love to Buffy? Didn't she look incredibly hurt and betrayed (and like she pitied Spike) when she left? Now the tables are turned. There are a lot of questions hanging in the air there. Does Dru still love Spike? Part of her must. I don't think their sire/fledgling or 100-year-love bond just goes away. How does she feel about his betrayal? How does she feel about his soul? How does she feel about the fact that he died and came back? Does she want him back? Does she want him dead?

Can you tell I'm jealous? I mean, you and MR have a TON of really meaty emotional stuff to work through -- and given Dru's nature, you can couple that with all of the fun physical violence and icky perversion that you can dream up. It's a veritable gold mine of material. Plus, with the scoobies under attack at the monastery, it looks like you'll be free to mine it for some time.

If I were you, I'd give my imagination free reign and explore every twisted nook and cranny of Dru's newly regained memories -- starting with the Spike ones, while you've got him at your mercy.

I'm so jealous that I think I might have to write some fan fic in the very near future! lol. I say take it and run with it, adopted sis. This is just an awesome setup.

Well, I was pausing to give Faith a chance to respond/reflect on Indra and her reactions and whatnot. As for the husband, he's not going to be a character. He's just backstory for Indra. If you do decide to respond as the monk, then, I would prefer it if the husband had not yet been notified.

Glad you guys liked Indra's dream. Thanks for the karma points. I don't want to take all the credit, though. I stole a lot of those images from Hindu myths and from Buffy and just sort of slapped them together in ways that I thought would create meaning. The idea there was, of course, that in Indra's subconscious mind, her slayer dreams are mixed with and inseparable from images of her religion.

But see, now I have a problem: Indra's at home in bed where, presumably, she must remain until morning unless someone comes and wakes her up. But the group at the monastery still has a fair amount of posting to do before morning. They need to get the girls buried, at least. So is it cool if I just leave Indra where she is until we get the Scoobies either asleep for the night or up the next day, too? I don't want anyone to think I'm dropping her or neglecting her or anything. It's just that I actually want to let her get some sleep and I think another super meaningful slayer dream thing would be overdoing it. :-)

Well, I, personally, am tickled to death by the torturing Spike action. lol. Selfishly, I think you two should beat that horse until it's deader than dead. That's probably just me loving that particular scenario, though.

As far as other ideas go, well... Faith is currently right outside your lair. She just dispatched your best demon. She has your scythe within reach. There are a couple of things you could do. If Dru has any more minions sitting around, she could send them to be Faith fodder while she smuggles Spike out. Of course, Spike might fight that. A Spike/Dru fight would be tons of fun. If there's no reason for him to remain her prisoner, (now that she has the memories back) that could even free him up to come back to the group. Plus, he's seen Indra, so there's another little can of worms that could open.

Alternatively, she could take on Faith herself, and hey -- what's not to love about a Dru/Faith fight? If she's got a phone, she could even call Indra over to fight Faith -- not that I see Dru as being particularly well-versed in that kind of technology. Like she said in Angel, "Awww. I'm still lagging."

So, the way I see it, you could keep dragging up old memories with Spike, (possibly trying to regain his loyalty?) try to smuggle Spike out, (risking a Dru/Spike fight and a probable escape) or fight Faith yourself. All of those options sound really fun. They make me wish I hadn't sent Indra home to bed! lol.

I love beating this horse...there's a lot of horse to beat, believe me...but something's gotta be done soon, guys. Spike's just gonna black out again if the torture thing continues.

I'm up for whatever PV just suggested. Anything. I love this thing, I love the Spike/Dru drama, but the scenery has to change sometime soon.

On that point, can someone from that team at least try and save his ass? I'm not saying they have to be successful, but the fact that they're not even trying right now seems a bit out of character for them.

Actually, they were going for backup when they discovered that the backup was dead, hence the holdup. I think I (Indra)threw a monkey wrench in my own (Xander) plans when I had Indra kill the slayers. lol.

I think the Dru sending someone out to get Faith plot could be cool, that way you could have Faith bring him back, that will score Faith points so she's not "the bad guy" when she gets back aswell, and it would prob move the story along best :)

well, it might be interesting to watch gunn, connor, or gwen react to her being fred (although gwen didnt know her that well), so it might be cool to do it in that respect. amy never actually met her, but maybe it would bring up questions? that could be fun. :)

as far as strategy-wise, if we're sneaking in and there are going to be a bunch of normal people, it would definitely be a good idea to disguise. but from what i understand, there's no one there except maybe some sort of demon guards. it seems that everyone involved in stopping us knows about magic, seeing as there are magical barriers and such, so going just in her normal skin wouldnt be a problem.

really, she's your character, though; you can choose to play it however you want :D.

By the way, Dru... if you want Dru to flea with Spike, you are welcome to take him (or try to take him) to Indra's house as a backup.

Could make an interesting setting for a conflict between Faith (and Spike, if he's able) vs. Dru and Indra, with the risk of getting Rajnath and Raja or maybe one of the servants involved as human shields/collateral damage. Plus, it would give me an excuse to wake Indra up and get her butt in gear. lol.

I'm having some medical issues, too. Mostly, though, I'm sort of waiting for the Scoobies. I don't want Xander to be the only playable character when they get to the sewer and run into Faith, Spike, and Dru. As for Indra... she's at home. I can only do sooo much with her internal stuff until I feel like I'm being annoying. :-)

I'm a little unsure of what to do now that we have no one playing Faith. I mean, Dawn, Xander, and Sam can't take Indra. If I make Xander attack Indra, I'll just plain have to kill him off, and I don't wanna do that! Slayergal suggested that Xander goes and helps with her demon, so I'm thinking of doing that.

That gives me something to do with one character, but then I still have Indra facing off with Faith over Spike. I don't feel like I can get her out of that until Faith responds in some way.

So... does anyone have any ideas to throw my way? Or does anyone have a way to resolve this situation (the fight in the sewer) without Faith's participation?

Well, I have actually made a few mistakes. :-) I actually had BEG edit one post for me because I had a total brain far and had Indra reference karma instead of dharma. Oy. I also think I called Spike a chick a couple of times, (the feminine devi vs. the masculine deva) screwed up the plural form, (which I *think* is devata) and I'm still not sure about the plural form of the word "dalit" (which, by the way, means "untouchable" and refers to those outside the caste system) It's, like, a *huge* insult when Indra, a Brahman by caste, calls someone a dalit.

In answer to your question, though, I took an Eastern Traditions religion class in college, so mostly I'm going by memory. I really liked Hinduism. Also, one of my best friends growing up was Hindu, so I picked up a few things. I have a translation of the Bhagavad Gita that I read every couple of years, too. If I need to look something up before posting for Indra, I'll just use Wikipedia. Mostly, though, my ideas come from my very foggy memories of college and of talking to friends.

Who should do the explaining? I think maybe Spike should. He spent more time with Dru and Indra, so he knows more about them. For example, he knows for sure that they are in cahoots. He knows Indra has a kid. He knows Indra's name. He knows everything there is to know about Dru. He's seen enough to suspect that Indra has some sort of different way of perceiving the things around her. He has also mentioned suspecting some sort of increased religious fervor. All things considered, I think his report would be more useful to the group as a whole.

Don't be so hard on yourself! I think it was a good post. I don't see anything wrong with Spike wanting to be close-lipped about his ordeal. He told the Scoobies what they needed to know. The rest wasn't really any of their business. I can totally see Spike trying to be all tight-lipped and stoic about it, especially with Angel and Buffy in the room. I don't imagine either Dru or torture to be very comfortable subjects on the best of days, but especially not with those two around. I mean, for starters, how can he complain when he did pretty much the same thing to Angel a couple of years ago? Then there's Dru, whom he can't like mentioning around either Angel or Buffy. I think you did a good job. I didn't expect Spike to start moaning and groaning to every Scooby in sight.

That said, I am totally looking forward to the reactions of Angel, Buffy, Illyria, and Gwen.

I'm just wondering. It occurs to me that when Indra was trying to lure Faith to her home in order to steal the scythe without a fight, she gave Faith her home address. Since Rajnath is a the head of Indra's father's business and also an advisor to the (recently ousted) King, he's something of a public figure. Having the address would lead the Scoobies to Rajnath and the kid. They could use that information to try to get the upper hand on Indra. If they were bad guys, they could kidnap the kid. Not sure what they should do as good guys, though. I'm just saying. Faith has an address and Spike knows she has a kid. That won't lead them to the ossuary, but it may provide the Scoobies with leverage to get at least one of the bad guys to come to them.

I'm sorry about the double post. I'm just curious. I'm trying to figure out who I can play Xander against. So... who's still here (in terms of having people play them)? I know Xander, Gwen, Spike, Angel, Buffy, and Giles are all around. I know Willow, Amy, and Faith are "gone" (as in, they're in the scene, but computer problems have taken them out of active play for the time being). But what about people like Dawn, Illyria and Connor?



Also, DDD... we can't do anything with Ansara right now or anything long term, but maybe we should do something with Dru and Indra? Maybe something small, sort of like the Yeti thing in Going Rogue, only evil? Like maybe Dru needs to feed or something?

Choice is yours. Gwen and Xander haven't had much interaction, as far as I can remember, so it might be good to see something like that.

Argh. My Xander posts suck muchly lately. I tried to work around the absent team members so we could get some forward momentum, but I'm kind of thinking that we should maybe let our characters go do other things and then reconvene for the meeting when BEG gets back. I mean, none of us seem to know what the urn thingie does or what the next big plot point is, so we're all kind of spinning our wheels and lacking in direction.

If we exit the meeting, at least we can work on getting some one-on-one or solo time with our characters and rock the character development stuff.

FYI on my last post. Cromwell was and still is considered one of the most brutal Bastards in Irish history. He was an English army officer that came and 'planted' Ireland. Basically he confiscated nearly all of Irish land from the people and in place put English and Scottish planters.
